The work was started on time and finished on time. For those who do a bit of homework on wheel repair/replacement, you will know that the majority of the shops do not do a full restoration of the wheel, and the do the service without removing the tire. AWRS was the only one I called that takes the tire off and does a full restoration of the wheel. The big plus for me on this particular job was we had actually damaged one of the wheels badly enough that there would have to be some material added. AWRS was the only one that I called that actually added material instead of trying to 'feather out' the depression and they were the only one that I contacted that actually welded in alloy instead of Bondo. They were a bit more expensive than the other providers I called (two were about 10% lower, one was the same price), but given that they are the only one that actually restores the entire wheel, I felt that was more than fair. Lastly, I was able to save myself a decent chunk of money by bringing my new tires in and letting them install them on the wheels when done instead of the old tires... costs them nothing additional and saved me about $22/wheel... more than made up for the extra cost of a full refinish instead of a superficial refinishing. The wheels on my other car are a bit ragged... I'll likely be taking it in to see them when I'm ready to fix that.....

My first order of business was to curb check every curb in sight leaving unsightly scratches all over them. I was sad. I called at least 4 wheel repair places and found Adam to be the most reasonably priced, he did mobile repair and could come fix my rims in 2 days. Adam showed up on time, is extremely professional and works fast (it took an hour). My favorite thing is the fact that my rims look brand new with zero indication of the curb drama they have endured. I was referred to Alloy Wheel Repair by a renowned Scottsdale body shop who said they go to Adam exclusively for any rim work and that he's fixed thousands of their customer's vehicles. It is now obvious why as Adam did an impeccable job on my rims, scratches removed and the paint matches perfectly. He also guarantees all of his work which is a testament to his service. It is my greatest hope that I will never check another curb again but highly unlikely! The last mechanic, honest as rain, just did not have the right equipment and told me about Steve at Coyote. Steve looked at it and gave me a free evaluation and an estimate along with the possible reasons that the truck was coding. He started on the truck the next day. He was able to fix two items when he uncovered another that was related to rodent damage. He took care of that gratis, was able to repair it all for under the estimated price and give me a military discount and it was done that day. He saved the old parts without me asking and sent me photos of the issues as he found them. I was overjoyed and immediately took my truck to get it inspected and licensed, paying a late penalty because of all of the months it took to finally get it to the "right place". They then put a rag on top of it. About six months later my car caught on fire I could not open the hood but I saw where it was on fire and that was right above where the rag was put on my fuse box. In this economy you are looking for the breaks. Not that pricing isn't worth it but some of us just…read moreneed a little space to get things done. We knew my wife's A/C needed some fixing. We were able to get through the summer (surprisingly). We thought we were close to affording the repairs so we began our search. Everyone wanted to charge anywhere between $75 - $200 just to look at it. Some wrapped that fee into the service and others didn't (won't point any fingers). Rustic Wrench said no strings attached, let us look at it and give you a quote. Sometimes it's a trick to get you in the door, but I got there, they looked, gave me a quote, gave me super reasonable payment options for paying, and let me decide. I left with a quote and a full breakdown of the work that needed to be done. They did not ask for a dime, they didn't shoot ninety-nine sales people at me, they didn't ask me why i didn't do it then and there. They just let me go about my day. I went home and talked it over with the wife. We had our baseline and now how to pay for this. So we put it out there. Everyone was charging about the same price, but also wanted to charge me to look it over again. I am not super confident in what these mechanics should be charging but if this one is looking at for free and giving an honest competitive fee for the work... you get it. We decided on sticking with Rustic Wrench. The price they quoted was the price we paid. The work was done to satisfaction. Here is what truly stands out for Rustic Wrench. Everyone at there front desk area is not just super polite and sociable as you would expect for someone in a "customer service" role, but they knew the work as if they did it themselves.
