The sandals were two different sizes (6 & 7 1/2) attached together and that's the reason why I am returning it (unused). The lady told me they cannot accept it because there is no barcode. I told her just give me the other size correct so that I can at least be able to use them but she refused. It's crazy because if there's no barcode, you cannot return , what's the point of having good customer service. Just sad that I have to throw them away now. Or use a different register or seek a manager. She refused to do so it was not convenient. Also not a part of what I'm used to at any Nordstrom. First thing coming in the security guard tells us we have only 15 mins. 30 secs after that, a guy goes on the intercom and tells everybody the store is closing in 5 mins?!? 5 mins goes by and he tells everyone that the store is now closed and everyone needs to checkout and leave. This location really needs to get their staff on the same schedule here and not make up false closing times. If you guys don't really want to work and want everyone out of the store, just change your closing time to 10:30. Look at every other chain department store. When it's closing time, they make an announcement beforehand and when they actually close, but they don't start pushing people out way before then. Tustin Market Place is way better. They don't aggressively push people out and the security guard there is nice and friendly.

Very disappointed with my visit to the Ross Santa Ana store this morning. While I was waiting in…read moreline, the cashier had her back toward me, briefly looked at me, then turned away again with no greeting or acknowledgment. Another associate kindly directed me to a different register, but it felt like the original cashier simply did not want to help. Because of that interaction, I was not in the mood to offer a donation when she asked, since that was the first thing she said to me. After being ignored, it did not feel appropriate to contribute. What made it stand out even more is the store had a fun atmosphere while I was shopping. I even joined the cheering when someone donated while I was in the men's section. That contrast made the checkout experience worse. I previously worked as a corporate customer service trainer, and a simple hello or clear direction to the next register would have completely changed the experience. After paying, I put my receipt in my pocket and was immediately stopped at the exit to show it. I cooperated, but the store should place a "Do not put your receipt away, please show it at the door" notice at the register instead of only at the exit. Most customers instinctively put the receipt away, which creates confusion and a bottleneck. When I suggested this, the security guard said "okay," and the associate next to the door responded with a smug, sarcastic comment telling me to read the back of the receipt and submit feedback if I had issues with how the store operates. I like Ross for the deals, but the greeting etiquette, tone at checkout, and receipt process need to be consistent and improved to create unforgettable, legendary customer experiences at the exit.
