Very rude cashier by the name of Pam made it a point of telling a group of people in line behind me in a nasty tone ''whoever's basket this is you can take everything out of it or I'm going to dump it". She also told the group in front of me in an exasperated voice " you better tell me now!" If they wanted one of the valentines ballon's that another worker was filling up. A treasure trove of deals, deals, deals on crap you do and don't need. I frequent this location for clothes, hair and beauty products, house ware stuff I didn't know I needed and athletic wear. It's in a shady location, but don't let that deter you. I've shopped at the TJ Max on Bristol and Mac Arthur by South Coast Plaza and pretty much you could find the same items at this store and more for a slightly better price or the same price. The Marshalls behind South Coast Plaza has a little bit more selection and is just a little more upscale, but this Marshalls is still one of the best in the county! read more

Some employees talk shit on the customer shopping there, I heard everything they were saying and it's a shame the way some of the employees are very unprofessional. If a manager or district manager is reading this, feel free reach out, I'd be glad to explain myself . Need to work on their customer service, and it's obvious on who they are. Steve, the manager made our experience terrible shopping at Marshalls. Steve has no customer service skills and is really rude. All other employees were friendly and somewhat helpful but somehow Steve who is supposed to be the manager acts like it's an inconvenience for a customer to ask him anything. We put our cart aside for a moment while we had to go in between a small aisle when we walked back to our cart someone had already taken it. We walked around the store looking for it, some of the employees helped us. We asked Steve if he'd seen someone grab our cart and he said no. We finally found the items we put in our cart set aside on the front counter, where Steve was. Steve said in a rude tone "make sure you guys keep your cart with you" instead of simply apologizing for the inconvenience of us having to look for it for 10 mins or atleast being kind about the whole situation. There's no point of Steve being at the front of the store "overseeing" if he can't even do his job, the least he can do if he's going to be at the front door is to greet and be kind to customers. read more

I love this store! I was so stoked to be able to find fashion designer brands at a clearance prices. This is the first time I've ever been into a Marshalls department store. I found some of the cutest pants, Michael Kors and also by Lucky Brand. I wasn't in too much of a mood of trying clothes on today but I'm definitely going back to buy those brands. What I did love about my visit today, was having my spirit uplifted by so many inspirational messages I found all throughout the store. With every turn, around every corner, I just found something that made me smile, and filled me with joy. I was meant to go into the store today. Big FAT ZERO. Eli is the cash register girl. Shirt skinny light brown hair in a bun with glasses. We had a screaming match all because she asked me if I had a Marshalls rewards card or credit card I said I had a Marshalls card but was not interested in the credit card thank you then she snapped and said well I was just asking said I was just answering she said I'm not going to help you put my things aside and asked the next customer to come to the register I asked for a manager the manager told her to walk to the back but while she was walking she was telling me about my appearance how I looked I said no matter what you have horrible customer service and I was it I could only imagine how she treats people this store is in the middle of Santa Anna if she doesn't like her job because it entails to have good customer service then she should find something else or work from home read more

Unfortunately I agree with some of the reviews here. They have a good selection of product but customer service is poor. Particularly management. They are very rigid and not friendly. My sister also had an experience there. She witnessed their rudeness with a customer. I don't know why they need to be so defensive and rude. I'm no longer shopping there. read more

I see that they are enforcing CDC guidelines and that is very much appreciated! The only downside are customers who aren't respecting the safety of others or physically distanced but thankfully it wasn't too crowded since they regulate the amount of people allowed inside. read more

I was automatically stereotyped because I came in with one shopping bag,i went to look at compression socks took 1 pair to purchase, I asked to use the bathroom and the loss prevention asked me to leave my bag in front,so I took my purchases from the grocery out of my bag and brought the socks to which I was going to purchase and the loss prevention guy accused me of putting the socks in my bag that I had put up front,when I got to the bathroom, it was closed,I was pretty upset,then grabbed some coconut water to purchase, came to front checkout, I told the young girl I didn't want coconut water afterall,she threw the socks down and put the water down,I told her I wanted the socks,she gave me a snotty attitude, didn't say sorry even though I was upset,I really think this Marshall needs better customer service and stop harassing well intended customers like me read more

My mom and I love shopping at Marshalls whenever we get a chance. We have visited a bunch of different locations throughout Southern California but this our favorite store. Maybe it's because this location is very convenient for us; indeed, It's the midway point between my mom's house and mine so we're sure to always make these shopping meet-ups at Marshalls. We usually just hang out, get something to eat at the Little Caesar that is located in the same street, shop and then head home. It's a great place for bonding moments with mom and she absolutely loves the place. It's clean and the staff is always nice to the both of us. Been a shopper of the TJX company for years because I used to be a TJX employee. This store is definitely not like the rest. Yes it is clean and well stocked but the customer service is what brings it down. First of all, it was 8:30pm and the fitting room was closed... they're not supposed to close it until 9pm because they close the store at 9:30pm. 2nd, I was returning a pair of stockings because I grabbed the wrong size but I had already purchased a different pair. I never opened them or anything and the seal was completely on. The girl who helped me completely took it out of the package and looked at it to make sure everything was okay. I was honestly insulted. 3rd, there was a journal I saw that had some wear, tear, and even writing on the front and back cover. I saw that the item had been in store since the beginning of the summer (I know how to read the tag because I used to work for TJX)... and the clearance section had the same journals only in different designs since after the one I wanted was brought to the store. So I asked the girl if it was possible to get a discount... she looked at it thoroughly glancing at every page and then said I would only be able to get a discount if the journal was falling apart! What a joke, she should have said that before even looking through it because it clearly wasn't falling apart. I asked her if she was sure that was true because I used to be an employee and I know how it works... and she said yeah. So I asked to speak to a manager because I know that's not true... I should be able to get 10% off and if it was falling apart why would I want it? She calls her home girl (not wearing a manager or even coordinator name badge) whose stocking the queue line over and says "were not allowed to give a discount unless its falling Apart huh?" To which she looks at the item and says "yeah". lol these girls really think I'm dumb, but whatever I wasn't about to bust a scandalous one over a dollar so I just didn't buy it. 4th, comments on my hair being black in my drivers license and not in person... she's lucky I was on a good one. read more

I went to buy some headphones that don't work and i called to confirm if i didn't have the box if i can exchange them for new ones and they said yes and when I arrived the store manager was talking to me from 5 ft away like if I was going to attack him and i told him can you come here please so i can explain and he was acting like a women was going to beat up a man when all i wanted was for them to help me see what was wrong. Well I still come to this location and got to talk to Al Garcia. He explained to me why his guard is up with the store because homeless people constantly come in and try on clothes, steal, and start problems with customers. I understand where he is coming from and put myself in his shoes. Now when I come in he smiles and welcomes me. He's even offered to hold heavy items in the front while I shop because they are too heavy to hold. He's a good guy & I shouldn't have judged so quickly. read more

I got to Marshall's probably at least once a week. So i get bored of going to the ones by my house, decided to drive to this one to discover new things. I would have purchased multiple things but I have never felt so uncomfortable after my experience at this door so much that I felt inclined to write a review so maybe it is heard. I understand how important security is in retail stores after managing in high chain retail before but with that being said i also understand customer comfort. I don't look suspicious or have ever stolen anything in my life. But here i was hunted stared at to almost the point i felt sexually victimized by the security guard. The Marshalls up on Chapman is way nicer, but I live closer to this one so I shop here more. First of all, someone tried to break in or maybe a car crashed into the front door, but it's been "fixed" with plywood for weeks now, and that's not a good sign if they can't even bother to replace the glass. I did ask the security guard what happened and he claimed not to know. They make me leave my backpack up front when I shop here, and I always make sure the guard agrees to watch it before I leave it. The aisles are cramped and there are never enough cashiers, but they have great deals sometimes on stuff that costs twice as much or more on Amazon. For instance, I found a Bare Minerals serum that costs $42 online for $6.99 here. Oh, and once I found a bag of Godiva dark chocolate for only $5. But this is not a place you can just pop into real quick. You've got to have a decent chunk of time to spend hunting because even if you do find something fast, you've got to stand in line for a good while. read more

I always go to this marshals, for years I've gone to this Marshall's. Once u go in there is always people by the entrance to greet you. They usually greet and are nice, however today I went in to ask if they were hiring because how I said I've gone to this Marshall's for years and thought why not apply but the young lady by the carts was nicer than whatever the two people standing by the entrance were, looked like the manager & his assistant? The girl standing next to the what seemed manager didn't even bother to open her mouth to speak n tell me to ask the guy behind her assuming manager if they were hiring she just pointed at him and when I asked him, he simple just looked at me with the ugliest face n told me "No", no customer service was used. If they're Going to stand there to greet and look "pretty" might as well be welcoming. The Asian dude is not welcoming at all, makes people not want to go buy shit from there. AVOID THIS STORE. They harass their customers and follow them if they look a little out of place or "sketchy" and immediately treat them as someone who is trying to steal. They interpret the corporate return policy to avoid processing a return. The policy states they will accommodate the return so long as you have a receipt. I brought in an item they sold me that was obviously used as a pattern for the design company. The crotch area had sewing damage not to mention that measure marks were written in chalk. It made sense that they would return with that much damage as they should have never sold it in the first place. I purchased them on the second of May. A "manager" Patty who obviously has no idea what her job function and role is talked to me as if I was a criminal and damaged these pants myself. My wife and I tried to return unopened Xmas wrapping paper and ribbon but were denied because they DO NOT accept these type of returns after the holidays!! Yes, you read that clearly. You cannot return unopened items after the holidays. They barely took back unopened toys that we did not gift. The manager, Al Garcia, is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. He stated that we clearly should have known their policy, because apparently it's common knowledge that holiday items can't be returned, even though it isn't posted anywhere in store or on the receipt. He claimed that no store accepts these types of returns, which was news to me since I've never had problems returning holiday/season items at Target. He is either lying or ignorant, but one thing is for sure he was disrespectful and condescending. read more

Wow I used to really like shopping at the Marshals on 1st St. & used to go at least 1 a week UNTIL I had the WORST experience ever with the Manager Al G. He was rude, unprofessional and should NOT be holding a manager position because his lack of customer service skills. I was Unsatisfied with my purchase-an electric brush dryer so I decided to return it. It states clearly on the 1st line of their return policy that if you are NOT completely satisfied return the item within 30 days of purchase..with the receipt-which I had-well not according to Al G. He came over after getting into an argument with a different customer who was confronting him about why Al was harassing him while he was trying on shoes and even went as far as picking up the customers shoes and saying he was going to throw them away. I know all this because I talked to the customer after Al G. denied my return of merchandise. Told him I didn't blame him for confronting him because his attitude and service was terrible. read more

I went to return a suitcase that i bought because it was too small and obviously when i took it out of the store i used the wheels so i didnt have to carry it i think i spoke to the manager which by the way is beyond rude.
