I went with Comfenergy due to their professionalism and expertise. From the energy audit and consultation (Matt), to the removal and re-installation of attic insulation, crawlspace encapsulation and dehumidifier installation (Dylan & crew), things have performed as expected over a year later. No more humidity, no more overworked HVAC, and no more mud pit under the house. I am writing this review because I had an issue with the dehumidifier that was installed (throwing an error code). I called on a Monday before a holiday and explained the situation. Comfenergy had someone (Ariel) out by Friday to diagnose. He fixed the issue, offered amazing advice, answered all of my questions, and even performed an inspection of their previous work (going as far to spot repair a few places that had weakened due to settling). This kind of customer service, over one year after performing their work, made me feel a whole lot better over such a major investment and project for my home. I believe this is one of those instances where "you get what you pay for," and Comfenergy certainly exceeded my expectations.

Right off the bat that's great to see, but the actual winner winner chicken dinner of the situation was that DES said they would be able to insulate our addition through our main attic space, that no cutting from the outside would be needed. The first estimate? HAD to cut through from the outsides because "there was just no getting it done from the main attic space." That little piece alone showed that DES takes the time and effort during their estimates to make sure they are doing the best job for the situation. Kevin came back out for the beginning of the job itself and was incredibly kind and pleasant while his team got started. He supervised for about an hour then let us know he had to get going, but that we could always call if we needed to speak with him directly instead of his team. During the job his team (made up of two men) were easy to speak with and had extensive knowledge regarding the two questions I had throughout the day. I basically forced them to take up my offer for food and drinks, but I think they mostly drank the waters I kept bringing them out of kindness. All in all I would recommend DES to anyone who is looking for good customer service and quality work from people who really know what they're doing/talking about.

Brian's a great guy--knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and easy to work with. He clearly explained what was needed, what was optional, and why. He showed exactly where the insulation and air-sealing problems were, giving me complete confidence in his recommendations. There was no pressure to add unnecessary work, and everything stayed within budget. Work included removing old attic insulation, extensive air sealing, insulating the attic to R-60, sealing the attic hatch, adding insulation to vaulted ceilings, and spray-foaming problem areas and a cantilever. The team did an incredible job. I was especially impressed with how thoroughly they cleaned up afterward. Most importantly, I've noticed a significant decrease in my heating and A/C costs since the work was completed. Excellent communication, quality work, fair pricing, and no surprises.

I felt my concerns were heard and responded to respectfully, especially by the owner Brian. The crew that did the removal and installation were also punctual, friendly and took good care of my property. Despite working long hours in 100 plus degree conditions. The only reason I dropped a star was because after the dust settled and we were able to access the attic we noted a few things that bothered us. Most of these issues could have been easily addressed if the installation crew had been more communicative with us throughout the process. Instead we had to deal with these issues afterwards which was rather frustrating and took several weeks to resolve and required us to call in other contractors. I would still recommend this company for all the things that they did well. But more and better communication from the work crew would have made this an overall five star experience.

Let me start by saying that I had an energy audit done and my house was leaking warm air/letting cold air enter all over the place. The day after they completed the insulation in the attic, my thermostat indicated the living area was at 72 degrees while I had initially set it up to 68. A full 4 degrees warmer! Will came to inspect the premises and answered all of my questions. As soon as he went back to his car to prepare the quote, I was 95% sure I would choose Fairfax Insulation Systems for my project. 15 minutes later he came back with a detailed, itemized quote. I explained I was waiting for a second quote (which I received 2 weeks later). In the meantime, he checked in by phone a couple of times without ever pressuring me into making a decision. Once I called him to schedule the work, I was transferred to Julia who was also very courteous and efficient. We were able to schedule for the following week and the workers arrived on-time, worked efficiently and quietly. I highly recommend you consider this company for your future insulation projects!
