We recently replaced our water heater with a tankless one and it has been fantastic decision! No more running out of hot water! (With a household of 6 the daily use of the washing machine, bathtubs, and dishwasher had to be carefully timed and even then we sometimes had to use water that wasn't the appropriate temperature; having hot water on demand has been a lifesaver during this season of raising young children). Dirty Plumber was quick to respond to my husband's quote request and the company was transparent with pricing. I really feel we got a good value and quality work. After the work was completed, I later saw the business owner volunteering at AWANAS (apparently he's a regular who volunteers every week with the kids); this gave me further confidence that the owner must be genuine guy who's speal about how he was able to offer the best price really could be trusted. I *WILL* say that had I been the one looking at quotes (rather than my husband) the name "Dirty Plumber" would not have necessarily deterred me but the ugly cartoon mascot painting on their company truck certainly may have! I would imagine oftentimes women are the ones who arrange their schedule to let the employee in to do the work and the "plumber's crack", actively smoking while working, disheveled grumpy looking mascot painted on their van didn't exactly paint a picture of professionalism, reliability, or safety. THANKFULLY, I felt the owner and employee who arrived to do the work were professional in their interactions, overall appearance, time on task, and attention to detail (the tankless water heater is installed evenly on my garage wall and the insulation on it looks neat and tidy). They do good work, but VERY pricey! We were told $200/hr and the job would be 5 - 6 hours. Our bill was for 5 hours but charged us $288/hr (they charged an additional $88/hr for a helper). Had a few other charges on the bill that did not make sense and were removed when we asked. We will go with someone next time that gives us a quote up front. read more

UPDATE: In August 2025, we had Dirty Plumber come to our newly purchased home to fix and update a few things. This time the tech was Keaton, who arrived on time and was professional and knowledgeable. We walked through the house to explain everything we wanted done, and he took notes, asked questions, and clarified requests to be sure he understood exactly what we wanted. He got to work right away adding a recirculating pump and sediment trap to our hot water heater, removing a water filtration system, and providing advice on a future project. Before the day of the service, we got a call from Desiree at Dirty Plumber's office (Desiree is great, by the way!) who let us know that Jack (the OG Dirty Plumber and owner) advised against adding a blanket and pan to the hot water heater, which we had requested. We learned that newer water heaters have built-in insulation, and it's very cost-prohibitive to replace a pan purely for cosmetic reasons - this advice saved us a lot of money. Found - great plumber. After a plumber who just disappeared in thin air I found "The Dirty Plumber". Jack who is the owner came over himself on one of the worst snow/ice days of the year. I have had a gas fireplace insert sitting in my fireplace installed wrong. Desiree (sp?) who answered the phone was a delight. When I spoke with Jack he said he could come out in the afternoon between 2-4. He said Desiree would call when he was on his way and she did. He was there by 2:30. I had a great experience with this company. I detected a leak that was coming from under the sink located at the supply valve. I tried to tighten the nut at the leak location myself but this proved to make the leak worse. I called my usual plumbing company but unfortunately they didn't have services available until next week. I called a second plumber who referred me specifically to call Jack at Dirty Plumber. I called the office number and Desiree picked up and informed me that Jack could be out to my office in a couple hours. Jack showed up in this time frame and was able to identify the problem, go to Home Depot to get the necessary parts, come back to prep for repair, and notify my office neighbors that the water would be off while he fixed the angle stop on the water supply pipe. This only took a few minutes as he knew exactly what to do. I was up and running in exactly one hour from when he first arrived. Very knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant people to interact with. We had a heating issue where one side of the house water ran hot and the other side never seemed to get hot. Previous owner couldn't get this issue fixed so we had been suffering for the last two years. A neighbor recommended the Dirty Plumber. Keaton arrived on time and we walked through the house explaining what we had tried to fix the problem. He took it from there with his mission to find the culprit. After much investigating and testing, he found the issue. He explained what it was and what our options were. All we wanted to was finally have a hot shower that lasted more than 30 seconds. He made the necessary adjustments. Today It was nice to finally take a shower longer than 30 seconds and to actually wash all of the shampoo out of the my hair before the water turned cold. I called Dirty Plumber to replace a hot water circulating pump and the finished product is good. One thing is that the job took all day. Part of that was because of the weather and frozen materials that did not seal the piping the first time around. The plumber was honest about it and proceeded to re-do the job. At the end I was charged $800 for labor (4 hrs@200/hr). The job was during regular hours on a week day and I felt that I should have been billed at a normal daytime rate. Because of this excessive hourly rate I will not use Dirty Plumber again. I'm giving a rating of 2 stars because of the nice young man. read more

Long story, but we had low water pressure in our guest bathroom shower. The technician was great, wish I could remember his name to give him a shout out. They were able to increase the water pressure in the showerhead, which made all the difference in the world. He also noticed that the toilets weren't flushing and filling quickly enough, so he changed out some parts in both toilets, and boy, what a difference! That wasn't even something on our radar. Once again, Keaton saved the day! Yesterday evening, I noticed water bubbling out of one of the pipes connected to our pvb irrigation backflow preventer. We turned off the valves to stop the water but knew we had a big problem. When I called Dirty Plumber first thing this morning, Jack, the owner, assured me this is something they can take care of. Ran into a huge problem as we were doing flooring in our home. Removed the toilet/ trim behind the toilet and noticed that whoever did so previously put a nail directly through the pipeline connecting to the toilet, at the base. I found Dirty Plumber through Yelp Projects, and I think I just encountered some magical incarnation of Inspector Gadget crossed with James Bond. Here is the story of a garbage disposal, a superhero and a potential explosion averted. I received a response through Yelp within a few minutes of posting my project. When I called them, the associate who answered was perhaps the most pleasant person with whom I've ever spoken on the phone. It was as if the man went to butler school in London and was the receptionist to the royal family before being transported to Reno. You could feel his warmth and concern for my garbage disposal radiate through the phone lines, and I knew I had called the right people. The owner, Jack, was on a job so was not able to take my call, but he called me back within a few minutes and said he'd be on his way- 20 minutes later he was looking at my garbage disposal. The problem was thankfully an easy fix. A metal soap dispenser component that had disappeared for weeks had landed in the murky depths of the garbage disposal, which explains why it stopped working. Jack removed the offending invader, made sure the garbage disposal was running, and went a step further by noticing a loose pipe that would have eventually caused water damage untold to the kitchen. He tightened the tube and went out through my garage to write an invoice. In my mind, Jack was already a mythical warrior plumber on two counts, but this is the point of the story where he morphs into a crescent wrench wielding epic hero. "I smell propane," he said, looking at my glassblowing torch. Jack went to his truck, produced a propane leak detector and a few wrenches, found the leak and tightened the propane line to my torch. No more leak, no more propane smell. In less than an hour, Jack had fixed a garbage disposal, prevented a flood in the kitchen and also potential explosion in the garage. I'm presently sitting in the garage, sort of stunned in amazement at the genius and majesty of Dirty Plumber. I highly recommend this company to friends, family and the good people of Yelp to save us from everyday plumbing problems and also life-threatening situations.
