Not sure if there is any particular location that "serves" my area - this is what is on yelp to review.
I made an appointment one Saturday to do an additional install. DIRECTV called and emailed to confirm the date and time of the appointment between 8am and 12pm.
So, for several hours that morning, after making special arrangements to be home for the guy to show up, I sit around wondering where he is. So I decide to call. When I do so, I learn that my appointment was just randomly bumped and switched to another date - without notifying me or even bothering to ask if the new date or time would be okay (it's not.) Are you kidding? After waiting 3 weeks, confirming the night before, crating my pets, planning my whole bloody day around this - I am just hosed? How in the world is this acceptable or fair?
When I called, customer service was of zero help - actually trying to suggest that *I* was the one who switched the appointment. Seriously? After having this done to me - hearing this is absolutely infuriating. I asked to be switched to a supervisor and waited on hold for over 30 minutes. I was then informed that their dispatch and "IBS (or something) System" switched me to a random new date "due to volume." - as if their system or high volume makes this any more acceptable. Don't make appointments you can't honor. At this point, no one could be dispatched to come out on the day I waited for them, even though it was entirely their fault.
I was given a credit of $50 - which does not make up for my wasted, lost time in the least. Before that, I was only offered $30 - which is even more of a joke.
I informed her I am not available the new date, and was set up for an appointment on a date I could do. When I asked for assurance from her that they would actually show up on this date and not do this to me again, they could not give a straight answer and disconnected me. So really, it's a crap shoot if they actually will. The guy did show up the second time and was very nice (I don't fault these people working for this crappy company) but of course I was left to wonder. And they didn't honor my $50 credit until I made 2 more phone calls and pressed the issue - yeah, good times.
This is the disgusting result of the cable monopoly. Because of this, companies like this one can treat you like garbage.
I'm no longer a customer anyway because no, I don't like paying a lot of money just to have 80% of the channels be stupid infomercials. Time Warner is MUCH BETTER as far as channel selection, service and price. They don't think you just sit home and twiddle your thumbs all day for their guys to maybe / maybe not show up. They don't think you want to watch commercials for Ninja blenders and Shark vacuum cleaners all freaking day. Time Warner actually gives you more channels worth watching- without charging you $$$ extra like DIRECTV does. read more
