They don't even deserve a 1 star!
I guess Direct TV doesn't want their money or equipment back? The cancellation process has been a nightmare, and we are still in in! I cancelled on March 9, the guy told me that they would send us boxes to put our equipment in and return. By this past weekend we still had not received the boxes so I called to check what was going on, and also found out that they have now charged us for the equipment that they never sent us boxes for. so instead of ~$100 our balance is now $400... I told the lady (Ellie) I can drop off the equipment, she gave me an address and information that seemed a little shady... she said take it to Jesslyn Properties at 6051 Virginia Pkwy in McKinney TX and they have an agreement to ship via FedEx for free returned equipment for Direct TV. She said put the equipment in a trash bag, bring your account number, tell them it's Direct TV equipment and they will know what to do. I repeated back all of the information to make sure I had it correct. It sounded odd but I knew I called the right Direct TV customer service line so I took her word, she seemed nice and wanted to help. Today, my husband went to drop it off, he called the number she gave us first (1.800.742.5877.) which turned out to be a UPS number instead of Jesslyn Properties.. I thought, ok, makes more sense then but still there's a disconnect b/c she said they ship FedEx for free not UPS. Then he drove to the address she gave, and it's a place where you buy a home, not to return Direct TV equipment. So now, for the THIRD time, my husband is on the phone with them, the rep tries to get him to switch back over to Direct TV after he says no, then tells him, well Ellie isn't working today. OK, well we need to figure this out, this must be a sick joke, and the rep then laughed in his face. So now he's waiting on a supervisor. This is ridiculous, all we are trying to do is return the equipment so I can get my final bill that Ellie told me would be $111.08, but my guess is that that will get screwed up too. Really in my opinion the entire cancellation fee should be waived because of all of the time and hassle we have had to go through just to return the equipment. If this doesn't get resolved, ATT will see me at their store in person, and I have some ideas for how to continue if they can't resolve it either. Any way, I will be giving horrible reviews, warning folks, and never going with ATT or Direct TV again. read more
