Their policy
Ann S.

Scam ! When I moved into my apt they recommended AT&T so the tech can out and installed a router. Now 11 months later I call to disconnect because moving out of state. They want to charge me $150 for something I have NO control over. They want the modem returned which I would be glad to do but NOT a possible and according to then I am NOT to remove it and my landlord says it will not be removed. I ask who is going to pay for damages if my landlord charges me. So eighter way I am getting charged for something I can't control. They refused to have their tech come out and remove since he should have never attached to the wall in the first place according to AT&T. I have included pictures and their policy?

Fiber Modem in IT closet
Mark R.

In the Dallas suburbs in a new neighborhood which is all underground fiber to my home IT closet. Chose the Internet 300 package and have been receiving 350 Mbps Wi-Fi consistently. Having trouble with DirectTV and my Samsung TV's but that is an app and Samsung issue. My computer is hardwired Ethernet to the modem in which occasional have a disconnect/pause issue. Not sure that's AT&T and not sure how I will troubleshoot since it is momentary.

The mess that was left after digging up my lawn. No sod replaced, 2 sprinkler heads still buried, and won't take responsibility.

(Screw the iPhone :) ) I don't think this offer is still available but I got a home modem and usb antenna for $50. It uses WiMax technology which is all wireless so for your home modem, you just power up your modem, cross your fingers and hope it finds a signal. What I thought was stupid is they didn't build a WiMax modem with a wifi router built in so I'm back to having a modem & wireless router again. The speeds are quite good from personal experience rather that actual data, I'd say its up there with dsl, cable but not up with fiber. I usually get 3 out of 5 green lights. The usb antenna can be used anywhere Clear is deployed. I've been good pretty much everywhere I've tried it but I'm weary when I travel to smaller towns. We'll see. To compare - I think my old home at&t dsl was about $60 and I had a EVDO mobile card from Sprint for $80. So Clear is definitely cost effective and I bet coverage & speeds will get better. And as Kevin G raps ... "I"m a mathlete, so nerd is inferred"

Their idea of fixing the problem was telling me to move the modem about an inch or put it closer to a window. I recently moved a few miles away from my previous location and found that the modem didn't work at all. I called in and they told me they didn't have service in my area so I asked to cancel the account. The rep told me he would email labels for returning the modems and that was the end of it. Now a month later, I'm getting calls several times a day letting me know that I owe an $80 re-stocking fee for cancelling my service. It doesn't seem to matter that I would not have cancelled if their service had worked at my new location. So I guess it's off to collections I go. I'm willing to take a stand and refuse to pay.

1/5 -- Extremely frustrating experience…read more My Frontier internet went down around 1 PM and has now been out for over 9 hours. I work from home, so this outage caused me to lose 4 hours of PTO and I may now have to drive into the office tomorrow because my service still isn't working. What makes this even more frustrating is the complete lack of accurate communication. I tried contacting support and waited forever without getting connected to anyone. I also tried their outage text service and received no useful response. Then, when I finally got Frontier's online outage checker to work, it told me "Outage resolved in your area" with a resolution time of 12:00 AM on August 20 -- even though my internet didn't go out until approximately 1 PM on August 20 and it is STILL not working. I understand that outages happen. What I don't understand is leaving customers without service for hours while providing inaccurate information and making it incredibly difficult to get an actual update or speak with someone. For a service that people rely on to work from home, this has been incredibly disappointing. Frontier needs to do a much better job communicating with customers during outages and providing accurate restoration information.

I called and called and they said it was an outage thats right after I got the phone. Then I went to the store and they didn't want to replace my phone talking about my time up! Had to go back and forth for days just to get a replacement sent. My bill proceeded to go to 170 bucks for one yea a single line! Today I call for a transfer pin and they tell me first they are having technological issues then they said my number was locked which was not true they then proceed to tell me they can get my bill to 60 bucks.. but last week before I decided to leave I called and they pretty much said it was nothing they could do to lower it. I spoke to several ppl on the phone in the app all of that and not one person helped me they gave me the runaround until the center closed and I couldn't speak with anyone. Kim a supervisor got on chat and was rude saying she can't do anything and call a number and then nothing! How she got to be a supervisor I do not know. Verizon sucks and if you are thinking about giving them a try you are better off with straight talk at Walmart. I picked this store to review because it was the store I went to five times in one day when they wouldn't take my phone back and they just as crappy as the six people I spoke with today. My advice DO NOT DO IT, GO PREPAID DO BETTER VERIZON!!

THIS REVIEW IS FOR T-MOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE / "CUSTOMER CARE"…read more I am currently unemployed and struggling to keep even basic bills paid. I spoke with T-Mobile 3 days ago, on July 1st, and an offshore representative offered a solution by giving me a credit to my account stating that if I could also pay $27.05 that would take care of an upcoming payment arrangement installment of $54.10. He assured me the solution would cause the upcoming installment, for July 4th, to "drop off." I confirmed multiple times it would be all I would need to do and that no more money would be owed until the following week, when I will have income to be able to pay it. I thought it was resolved. I trusted him. I believed him. Fast forward to today, July 4th, and T-Mobile is trying to process another payment of $54.10. I have 53 cents in my checking account until next week. I called T-Mobile and spoke to yet another offshore representative who just continued to say she understood, and she heard me, and all we needed to do to take care of things was provide a payment of $54.10 today. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she came back on the line and said if that had been an option she would have offered it to me initially but it is not an option. I just need to pay the $54.10. This is so ridiculous, so cringe, and so street thug! WHAT COMPANY conducts business by baiting a long-term customer with the promise of a resolution by getting them to make a small payment only to extort them 3 days later for even more money? Why lie? Does T-Mobile need that $27.05 so badly that they are willing to teach their offshore reps to lie just to get that tiny amount? Seriously? I don't know any other company that does this crap. I am done with T-Mobile. I just borrowed $54.10 from a friend of mine and I paid the overdue installment because I am unemployed and cannot afford to be without my phone for an entire week. I still owe T-Mobile $83 or so. They will never see that money. Next Friday when I have some money I will be switching carriers. T-Mobile can choke on their thug tactics, their extortion, their lies, and the balance that I owe them. WORST COMPANY EVER.

Recently, there was some sort of technical issue in my neighborhood that necessitated 5 or 6 technicians to resolve. Since then, my downstream has been limited to the upper 90's/20, when it should be about 250/20. With each speed increase, I've had to get new equipment out-of-pocket, because the company will only will only supply a DOCSIS 2.0 modem. Including my newest modem which is DOCSIS 3.1 with 16x8 which the company incorrectly told me I need, I'm still not getting the bandwidth I should be. Three different modems in as many months, because the CSRs are contradicting each other. In conclusion, Grande was stellar when it was a Texan-owned company, but since it was plundered by a company that's owned by a holding company in Hong Kong, customer service has definitely become sub-par, which compounds the fact that Grande won't get its metaphorical (if not literal) story straight, with respect to "needed" equipment.

If you try to use the "chat" option, you receive vague information and are told that questions cannot be answered. When you request a supervisor, you are told you have to call to speak with someone. When you question anything during the chat, you are told that the "person" on the other end of the chat is unable to help you and will terminate the chat. If you leave a yelp review, you receive a nice note from "Jackie" with a request to send a PM with your specific concerns. Too bad Jackie doesn't exist and there is no information on how to PM anyone for actual assistance. $500+ a month for services is beyond ridiculous and you only get bots to "assist" in answering questions regarding the $500 bill and why $280 of it is all fees. Edited to add: received my notice from "Jackie" and I can send a note via Facebook or X since there is no PM option. I have neither, by the way. Also, thanks "Jackie" for reminding me that Astound suspends additional comments - forgot about that part.
