This is awful. I have glaucoma and initially thought my condition had gotten extremely worse, until told by my husband that it was not my vision, he could not make it out clearly as well. I can just imagine those that are truly vision impaired. This is horrible! Please change my screen back. In a few months they will be increasing our bill for this change. babarnes@houstonmethodist.org read more

dont ever go to any of their services their contacts are sketchy and when they say you dont owe anything they lie about it and like to charge your credit card without your approval or acknowledgement. i thought ill give it a try but ive been with time warner cable/spectrum for over 10 years and going through this process has been stressful and a headache. im not advertising spectrum but im just stating facts. fuk directv & att trash!!! read more

Inconsistent service availability. Just seems to stop working every few months. Next to impossible to actually speak with a person in service! Positively the worst phone tree I have every had the displeasure of having to call and I have to call for service often. I will NEVER get direct TV again under any circumstances. Horrible. read more

Since I am reviewing Cable TV, I thought I would drop a note on DirecTV. I had DTV for 12 years. I purchased a smart card programmer to produce lock keys for doors. A few months later I get a summons for Federal Court for Stealing DirectTV. The summons turned out fake and was a scare tactic from DTV to try to get $2800 out of me. ATTN GN: Gregg Abbott took DTV to court for stuff like this. Texas won! California DTV lost big. read more

You must have all of your TV's installed and running before they will install their service. So if you are trying to get your cable/internets up and running before or during a move look elsewhere. We had a 8-12noon Sunday install window. 3 phone calls from Directv and the contractors by 7:30am, tech shows up and refuses to install because we did not have all of the tv's up and running (we had two out of 4 tv's mounted) because of 'company policy' and they would charge me another $100 to come back out and install the others. We had a small tv we could move around for them to configure and test the service but 'company policy' would not allow him to do that. Not sure why they have this moronic policy but it wasted several hours of my time and cost them a customer. I cannot be the only person who was trying to get their services up and running before a big move. read more

Terrible service, they are ripping me off. Tech support is awful. I had my install in Aug-2018, my OnDemand has never worked. I've had 7 one hour calls and it's never been resolved. They will however send a technician out for a $100 charge. What a joke! read more

I only wish I could give zero stars! The contractor who installed our Direct TV broke off a piece of trim on the roofline of our house. About a week later, I discovered this damage, the broken off piece (roughly 9" by 3") laying on the grass in our side yard. I called AT&T and was given a claim number and was told I would receive a letter describing the claim process. A week later, no letter. I called the "direct" number I had been given during the previous call and was connected to what I believe was a foreign call center. After describing the issue I was told the letter would be emailed to me. A week later, no email. So I called again and after much discussion I was told that the service representative's supervisor was going to initiate payment to me immediately and would call back to confirm that this was done. No phone call. No reimbursement. So I made one more call. I was given a local address in Texas for an apparent contractor which handles installation (AT&T c/o Muiltiband Field Services, ATT: Risk Management, 2801 Network Blvd. Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034). I explained the situation fully, including photos of the damage and a receipt for the repairs ($180). I was also told I would receive a phone call from these people. More than a week later, no phone call, no reply to the letter, no reimbursement. So if you have a claim for damages that occurred during installation, good luck. Don't count on getting reimbursed for repairs. read more

In an age of participation trophies, I guess I have to give a star?? Save yourself headaches, hidden fees, and cancellation fees when they finally frustrate you into getting rid of them... in hindsight, the cancellation fee is the best money I ever spent... the mistake was choosing them in the first place. Our service frequently stopped working with no explanation... we went through changing hardware that wasn't broken, then it would be an issue with their infrastructure, the it would be some other excuse... service appointments were not quick either. You would be better with no TV than DirectTV. read more

I live in Kyle and have been a loyal customer for 5 years. After my various promos ended they did not help me find a better rate. Always told to call back in a month etc. Yesterday, on the "loyal customers" direct phone line, they couldn't offer me a good deal but today they tried. Too late. No more games!! I cancelled. I'm not under a contract but they say I must pay a full month since it's middle of billing cycle. Unheard of. Sounds illegal too. Ridiculous games they play, old equipment too and they just don't care. read more

I've used DirecTV for many years and always had excellent service and very good assistance when I called tech support. Until yesterday. I talked to Amber (who was very nice) and she transferred me to another woman. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. She was rude, condescending and acted like she was extremely put out with me when something she suggested didn't solve my problem. I actually told her to please not be so abrupt which did not help in the least! After I hung up I fixed the problem myself. Usually the support people are extremely helpful like Amber, the nice lady I talked to first. read more

The worst service I've ever experienced! There are FAR better options available. I'd give them negative 10 stars if possible!

DONT DO IT! Save yourself the hassle and the contract opt out fee and go with Apple TV and Hulu. Heck you could sign up for every streaming service for what they will extort for a month. DING DONG THE WHITCH IS DEAD! read more

This was the WORST!!!! Experience ever!!!' They jacked up my bill! I went to get internet and cable.!. AT&T bought this shitty company and instead of them combining my bill with the internet! These fuckers lied for months saying they will combine it but lied !! DO NOT EVER USE THIS SERVICE!!! read more

Direct TV is the WORST service you could EVER get. Just don't do it. If you can get an internet signal at your home, you will be SOOOO much happier and better off if you go with Sling TV or ANY other service. 1. The other service will be a LOT cheaper. 2. You could honestly not get any worse customer service from Direct TV. When you call, you're speaking with someone in the Philippines, which is fine, except they could care LESS about you! Do NOT - I repeat - DO NOT make the mistake of signing up with Direct TV. You will surely regret it for the two years they lock you into. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE Customer Service!!!! read more

This company lied to me from day one. Be prepared to pay more than they tell you, have the service be spotty at best. Oh and don't even think about moving. They told me three times that if they could not have the dish installed at my new place I would not be charged (lie). They apparently don't use the tripod anymore and that is MY FAULT CAUSE I MOVED. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I found out later from an actual employee that directv doesn't care about their american customers they only want your money, They make the bulk of their profits overseas. BE LIKE THE OTHER 80,000 CUSTOMERS LAST YEAR AND LOOSE DIRECTV. read more

I don't think they even deserve one star. I have had to call for the past 2 payments because of the (secret charges) incurred. I started by paying 85 dollars a month with just cable. No internet or phone. Now my bill is $200 dollars. Why in my right mind would I want to pay 200 for just cable. I call to try to fix this, it takes nearly an hour just to talk to a representative to get nothing solved. I will be looking for another cable company read more

I've had DirecTv for 5 years now at two different houses. Our most recent move was into our house we moved into in 2014. No issues. Great. I called monday 6.5.17 because we just moved into our new house we built to have them come out and move out directv to our new house (same property-right across the driveway from old house). I was told I had an appointment tuesday 6.6.17 between 4-8 to have a tech come out and move this for us. I take off work 2 hours early to meet this tech and 7pm rolls around and I still hadn't received a call. So I called customer service to only be told that my appointment was NEVER entered into the system. I spoke to a lady and she told me the was scheduling for a tech to come out yesterday 6.7.17 between 12-4. I told her I couldn't be there as I had already taken off work early but my husband would be there. No problem. 6.7.17 at 3:30 my husband texts me stating that he hasn't seen or heard from the tech. So I called yet again and was told that my appointment was scheduled for saturday 6.10.17 not yesterday 6.7.17 like the lady told me it was. I asked if there was any way that they could get out yesterday (this was my deciding factor of whether I would keep directv or cancel my contract as this is the 2nd time now they have fudged up) they didn't have any appointments left for yesterday the next available would be saturday. I told them that was a bunch of BS since they were the ones that messed up not me. I had a "supervisor" argue with me when I asked to speak to HIS manager. He proceeded to tell me that his manager would tell me the same thing. I told him that was fine I wanted to express my pissed off ness to his manager and again proceeded to argue with me. I told him I didn't give a sh*t what he was going to say I needed to talk to someone higher than him. Finally I received a call back from this guys manager and he said that he was going to check with a different service team to see if he could get someone out to my house yesterday and he would call me back in 5-10 minutes. I let two hours go by and still didn't hear a word from this "MANAGER". So AGAIN I called customer service to cancel my account. Spoke to a lady whom tried to get someone out this morning after telling her I just wanted to cancel my contract as i've spent way to much of my time on this crap just to be jerked around by obviously idiots who don't have a clue about what they are doing. She told me done. My contract was cancelled, I would be receiving boxes to ship back everything in within 7 business days and whatever balance is on my account is still to be paid. Cool I thought my account was cancelled. I had a gut feeling that I should check my account when I got to work this morning only to find out THAT THE WOMAN DIDN'T DO HER JOB EITHER AND CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. I have chatted with a rep whom told me I had to call agian to cancel my contract. I asked for a manager to call me so I can express just how pissed off I am about this whole situation and how I'm out two hours of work and my husband is out 6 hours of work. They will be getting a piece of my mind yet again. HORRIBLE customer service from "supervisors" & "managers". If you are thinking of getting DirecTv please read ALL of the reviews and please choose wisely. I will NEVER have directv again due to all of the BS i've had to deal with just this week. **STAY CLEAR*** read more

Just waited on the phone for twenty minutes to have the phone picked up, no one answer, then hung up on me. Don't move to a olace where you can't have a Dish, or they will ruin your credit. Paid on time for a year. Had a credit balance. They would not take no for an answer. Customer Service would NOT escalate, I wrote many emails, they charged me for equipment, now I have to prove that I sent equipment back, but the label they sent with box was weird. Drop off UPS at post office. Now I have to fight for my credit. I've spent way too much time on this, but they would not let me out of contract because I moved to a place where they couldn't provide service. read more

Your better off buying an Apple TV!!! These ppl straight up lie!!!! When I signed up I was told it was going to be a 1 year contract now there charging me a $240 fee for early cancellation cause apparently it's a 2 year agreement. Holy Cow! I havent had service for even a month and today from 10 am- 2 am I have recieved 10 sells calls, outsourced obviously. I keep telling them I dont want anything, when I asked to sepak to a supervisor they hang up on me, this happened 3 times in less than an hour. I call the number back to speak with someone one in customer service and they refused to let me speak to a supervisor or even give me a name. The offered me a website where I can make a complaint! Really this is how a "valued customer is treated lol." They said they could not help me, I said I felt like this was harassment. I was told the supervisors were to be busy to talk with me and that I would have to wait 40min to an hour on the phone. no on will take responsability!!! I almost didn't want to give this business any star(s). I'm writing my personal feelings about Direct TV since AT&T bought it out. The service is of low quality. The absolute worst. Unprofessional, disorganized and dishonest. Their robocaller called me 12 times in 1 day at work. Reps are used car salesmen. RUDE! DirecTV sales rep called me 3 times today to pitch their service (I used to be a subscriber, but cancelled after many years due to abhorrent customer service and numerous rate hikes, as well as DirecTV adding un-requested services to my account and then billing me for them...). And 3 times today, I politely asked to be removed from their call list, and the operator hung up on me mid-sentence. The absolute worst and most inconsiderate telemarketers out there. They SUCK! I just called to cancel (going back to Spectrum) and found out the reason my bill was so high is that they had added HBO and a bunch of other premium channels that I don't watch. God forbid if it gets cloudy or rains. The cable goes out immediately! I never got the 2 VISA gift cards they promised. AND now I have to find and box and mail they junk back to them. They brought it to my house; they should pick it up. And they are leaving the eyesore of a dish on top of my home. The internet company they use (Viasat) is horrid, as well!! read more

If I could rate as NO stars, I would!!!!!!!!!! These people are liars and they sat there on the phone and repeated the notes from a previous representative on their end and still denied my credits! Tried to cancel my free 3 month movie channels because we just don't really watch them and the former rep said I had to call back on the 11th to cancel and get my credits. Guess what??? Their reps can say whatever they freaking want and they do not support them. I hate their service all because there is no customer service, it's all scripted and they sound like freaking robots. I'm seriously considering just letting them cut off my service and reporting me to the credit bureau. That is how bad I freaking hate them that I'm willing to take the credit hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIARS!!!! LIARS!!!!! LIARS!!!! I will make it my personal goal in life to discredit them and sway anyone from ever using their service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and don't even get me started on my original installation services, a freaking 13year old could've done a better job!!!! read more

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GET DIRECTV!!!! It is absolutely horrible and has the worst customer and technical service ever in the history of shitty customer and technical service. my internet was not connecting to my cable box, no problem easy solution call them and they can fix it. WRONG WRONG!!! I called their customer service line and after 10 mins of automated crap, I was able to finally able to talk to a real person. I tell her my issues (cable box not connecting to the internet and can't access on demand or order movies ) she says no problem and sets an appointment for that Friday. On Friday the tech comes in and says "I am here to move you dish". I tell him that is not the issue I am having and tell him about the box. He checks out the box and determines I have a bad box and need to get it replaced. He says since he was told he was to relocate a dish he didn't have any boxes on him and that I would have to call and make another appt. Also I get a bill in the mail saying I have to pay $54 for a dish that was never moved. Pissed but I understand so I call to set another appt for the following Tuesday with a(8-12am) window. It was 2pm and still nobody shows up. Mind you I confirmed via text and an automated call from DTv for my appt on Tuesday. Called them 3 time because twice I was disconnected and find out I never had an appt for that Tuesday even though I confirmed twice. *(Side note after calling 3 times I was able to talk with a customer service rep that is stateside and he told me if you call 3 times or more you will be connected to someone from the states and not a call center overseas. So call 3 times and hangup after you verify your number you are calling from.) He tells me I never had an appt on Tuesday and set me up with an appt on Saturday for 8-12am window. So I wasted a whole morning waiting for appt that was never set. Saturday rolls around and at 2pm I am calling customer service again to let them know nobody showed up and they tell me "well the job is still open so the tech should show up still". I told them I understand shit happens but a courtesy to let me know they are running behind would have been nice instead not being able to go anywhere waiting for the damn cable guy. They apologize wholeheartedly (of course) and say they can give me a $25 credit. Upset that I wasted 3 days just to switch out a damn cable box and $25 credit is all they offered. Heated I told them I would like to cancel my service and set the disconnect for Monday. After calming down and talking with my GF we decided to cancel the cancellation and keep DTv. I call Sunday to cancel and they tell me they were going to charge me a reactivation fee even though I still had service. Mind you it was set to cancel Monday not Sunday. They said they will connect me to billing department to cancel the cancellation and while waiting to speak with someone I get disconnected. So the moral of the story is stay far far far away from Directv. They will entice you will all these crazy promos but stay away. That's how the get you and then fuck you later. Please learn from my mistake, I am not a bot nor do I write bad reviews for fun. Horrible terrible and any other word for shitty describes Directv and their customer service. read more

Wireless tv hasn't worked for 3 weeks. Tech comes out and says it is a known problem and there is no work around. I ask him if we can go back to the hard wired option that we had prior to wireless and he tells me he needs a work order. So I call direct tv while he is here and they give me the run around. The tech walks out the door and never comes back. I call and speak to a supervisor in hopes of fixing this problem. They want more money from me to come back and they want another two yr contract. We are done with direct tv! If anyone can recommend another provider, I'm all ears. read more

Their customer service is terrible. They get you to sign up by offering all of these great deals but be careful...with those great deals you sign a 2 yr contract with them but the deals are only good for 12 months. I also wish there was a negative rating! We have been on service since Feb. 2012 with really no problems till May of 2013. Now, we have been without service for a week in spite of the fact that 2 repair technicians have been here and the box replaced once. When you call the number for service, you don't get your local office. I am in Texas and talked to someone in Oregon last night and 2 people in Mississippi this morning. When I ask for the number to my local office the operators say they don't have that information and cannot help me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that the response wouldn't be any different. Our problem is ongoing, the same thing over and over. Started May the 9th and has been going on through today, May the 18th! Can't get anything settled in spite of multiple phone calls and complaints. Sure wish I could speak with the CEO of the company and explain to him the reason people are unhappy. They lure you on with a good deal for the first year, but after that, watch out! Your bill goes up astronomically for the exact same service and you are under a two year contract so have no choice but to pay their exhorbitant rates which are not revealed to you when you sign up. They have everything on their side because they insist upon the only form of payment being a direct draft from your bank account so they have you right where they want you. Calling to try to get charges adjusted for days without service is a joke. I would say don't ever lock yourself in with ANY company, certainly not DirecTV! read more

Direct was sold to me as a wireless service by the ATT people,. At installation I was offered the wired option at $150+ or wireless at $99+ As I was in a time bind I offered my credit card for the wireless option but told the Direct person processing my card that I waS UNHAPPY. I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THE MERGER MANY TIMES THE att AND dIRECT PEOPLE ARE TOLD DIFFERENT THINGS SO I SHOULD CALL IN AND EXPLAIN TO aTT WHAT WAS DONE AND MOST LIKELY THE $99+ WOULD BE REFUNDED. I stayed on the line about 40 minutes to find out that I was not such a valued customer and that I would not be refunded the money. I have been a LOYAL Customer of Direct TV since 2008. I had a DVR which I really enjoyed, the only problem was, I couldn't record 2 shows without the TV being on one of the channels, so I UPGRADED to a GENIE in 2013, because Direct TV advertised it could record up to 5 shows. All has been GREAT until a month ago when all of a sudden the GENIE stopped recording the way it has in the past and proceeds to tell me the TV needs to switch to whatever channel I have set to record (WTF ! Since WHEN?????????????????????). Sometimes it doesn't even record the shows I have it set to record. They CONNED me into another 12 mth contract by offering to lower my monthly bill. GREAT I said. The next month I was informed by Century Link (I bundled the 2 accounts) they were raising my monthly service fee. I think there's a conspiracy going on between the 2 companies, The service has gone way down and every time you call you have to go through that damn automated systems which never understands anything you say and you wound up having to always repeat yourself. read more
