For the new item I noticed, in October you were swapped from having just HBO & Showtime premium services for $30.99, you were upgraded to all four premiums: HBO, Starz, Showtime, and Cinemax for $53.99. If I could give no stars I would. I have hated this service since we signed up in December 2015. Satellite will not communicate and we have been without TV since August 15...they're not sending anyone to repair until September 1. They don't give a hoot if I was going to cancel my service and their CSR are complete idiots!! Google Fiber hurry up with our install for cryin' out loud!! In addition, Yelp indicates that DirectV is open 24 hours and that's not true. They may answer phones 24 hours but that doesn't mean anything will get fixed. That's not 24 hours. read more

I was a happy DirectTV customer until today. We signed up for DirectTV at a great rate with a great deal on all the movie channels. We specifically made sure confirm with the rep over the phone that we were NOT locked into any contract and they confirmed we were not - in hindsight should have asked for this in writing... AT&T Uverse just started to be offered in our neighborhood and they offered us an even better deal with more features so when we called DirectTV to cancel not only was their customer service horrible, but they bashed AT&T, told us that in fact we WERE locked into a contract. The manager stated that even though we didn't sign anything we were contractually obligated as stated in our first invoice AND there was a $300 termination fee. Despite us being a perfect customer, he refused to compromise on the termination fee and was extremely rude. The manager (Sean) handled the situation so poorly we talked to AT&T and they helped us pay over half of the DirectTV termination fee. We'd rather pay the remainder of the termination fee with DirectTV now that we have learned they have no priciples and terrible customer service. I was provided by DIRECTV for their service for 15+ years in my home. Their service is terrible they're not helpful when it comes to discontinuing their service and disconnecting their equipment for my home roof. They will not come out and remove their dish from my rooftop in order for me to have my roof replaced therefore I will continue to have issues with my home because I am not able to get my roof redone due to their equipment still being on my roof. Their dish was installed by their technician so I feel DIRECTV should send a technician out to remove that dish from my home because I no longer care to have service from them. Consumers to be aware of DIRECTV and AT&T for their unwilling to help a customer of 15+ years. Watch out when you talk to these clowns, read the fine print. We were shopping for plan B's since we cancelled Time Warner cable after 3 whole days. Direct TV requires a 2 year contract with a $600 cancellation fee. Yikes! Are you kidding? We will keep the Roku box. Direct TV has a internet streaming add-on that isn't being marketed separately. The $600 is sneaky. They tell you that it is "just" the monthly costs remaining - for example $20. I guess they think their customers can't multiply. $20x12 + $30x12 is the contract. If we decided after a week that we couldn't stand the product, it is $600.00. That is equivalent to no cancellation rights whatsoever. And, there is also a $6 a month rental for the equipment which they didn't mention as part of the cancellation because I stopped asking questions. read more

After the technician didn't show up, without even a phone call or an explanation, I tried DAILY for SIX days to resolve my issues and spoke with COUNTLESS staff/supervisors but STILL have not gotten a resolution. AT&T is terrible. They lied and told me I had to have direct tv to have the internet, they get me stuck into a contract, which now I cannot get out of. When I spoke to a supervisor in December he told me I don't have to have the tv to have the internet, but asked me to please keep it, to give it a try, since they upgraded my internet service (it works off of a cell phone tower bc I live in the country). He said that if then, the internet was sufficient to call back and he would cancel everything. I get an email that I have gone over my data, so the internet obviously isn't a fit, so I call back today to tell them I want to go ahead abs cancel as it hasn't worked out. They proceed to tell me I owe them $800+ for the cancellation of the contract I was lied into getting, and the overage fees for the internet I was trying to cancel in the first place. Direct TV has given me the worse customer I have ever received. We have had Direct TV since Nov 2018. We live at a campground and moved to different site and now have no service. 2 days in a row a technician has been a no-show. Yestetday when they were a no-show, we were told our service call would be a priority today. And a supervisor would call us. No supervisor call and no technician 2 days in a row. Ibwas yoldvwell since there is Covid 19 technician are running behind! Not just behind, no show not 1 day but.2 days!! Well don't book so many appointments!! Recently paid for an upgrade that required installing new equipment. When the installer came to the house he indicated my dish would need to upgraded. I said fine there is the dish mounted on fireplace chimney by Directv some 6+ years ago. The installer said they can no longer get on roofs and the only way he could provide the equipment was to install another dish to a location that could be accessed with a 5' ladder. So now I have 2 dishes on my house for 1 service both an eyesore to the house. Don't use this service, they are all about sales with limited service read more

This is the WORST carrier you could choose. Terrible customer service, your services will be interrupted every time it rains, and they continue to struggle with software issues causing you to have to reset all the various boxes constantly. (Of course anything you have scheduled to record won't.) They just kept me holding for 10 minutes only to then have a recorded message saying that for reasons beyond their control (LOL!) they couldn't take my call, sorry, goodbye! I waste at least two hours a month jacking around with stuff that shouldn't require any effort from me only to pay through the nose for minimal services. All these companies are awful, but at least with Time-Warner you can watch television when it's raining. read more

If I could give no star, I would. We were offered 25,0000 movies. Local stations and more. First of all it is not user friendly. Second it is S L O W. I think that my review should be less than a one. First of all I had a appointment for today June 23, and I received 8 automated calls to confirm my appointment. The appointment was set for today from 8-12 and I had a no show. I called 800-531-5000, talked to 6 customer service reps and 2 supervisors and no one was help to help me or wanted to help me. Would be a decent service if they wouldn't engage in dishonest tricks. A price was clearly advertised when I signed up and then my bill has been going up every couple of months. I've called to complain but it's useless. You can actually start talking to a rep much faster than most companies these days but they are completely useless. Worst customer service and worst technical department. There is no customer solution department. I have been waiting for the engineering department to check why I can not view my bill online or programming on my app. I combined my bills and that's when the problem started. I have asked to let me out of the contract but Directv will not and have me waiting. I have asked for directv to just reissue me an account if this one has not been recognized and they keep saying they are looking in to it. I asked to separate my DIRECTV account from att and they say it has never been combined and that it looks like it's in the process. And in order to be separated it will take another 2 billing cycles. Bottom line the problem is the accounts are not combining because there is a problem with merging so my programming and online services can not be seen. Please do not use AT&T. I was with them for 10 years and I never had a good experience with their phone support. Most recently I wasted over three hours on the phone trying to get my Satellite hardware upgraded, and stayed home from work for their technician on three different days. A technician never came to my house and each time I called there were different issues with the way the last guy placed order. I finally had enough, and canceled to move to Dish network. When canceling, they told me they wanted my 10 year old hardware back and I needed to waste over an hour more of time taking it to the UPS store. I asked them to come and get it as it was not worth my time. They then threatened me with over $600 of charges and said that should make it worth my time. LIES AFTER LIES. Cancelled the next day bc...(In sequence) 1. 50 min on the phone two weeks prior to subscribe and find the "perfect bundle". Original internet price quoted was $30 with 2yr cable sub, BUT.... 2. They got my address wrong and int tech took longer to connect only to find out that I need stronger int 1000 (940Mps)@$70! 3. Upsold to int 45M(45Mpbs)bc it's just enough strength for my house. Plus cable guy just nailed a satellite on my roof. Add $20, then $30 after a year. 4.Took 4 hrs for cable & int apmt and now install is $99 bc it's a "different level of int". 5. Both DirectTV&AT&T(same)made both techs job difficult. 6. Turns out, int 45 is NOT even available in my area. Int24(24Mpbs)is the strongest int available for $10 more a yr. 7. Highest int a(25Mpbs)in 78704 plus cable will cost twice as much after special offer is over in2yrs. Now get this, Google Fiber will charge a flat rate of $140 with cable&940Mpbs. 8. Overall bad communication just terrible. I had to get out of this contract as it WASN'T MY FAULT DIRECTTV QUOTED ME FOR AN INTERNET SERVICE ON AN ADDRESS THAT WAS INPUT INCORRECTLY and it took 8 hrs to subscribe and cancel within a 3dys. WOW! I think we've made a serious mistake. Unless things get much better starting with completing the installation of the complete ATTDirectTV. I've been on the phone trying to get them to complete the install (phone) and after 3 hours I am still unsuccessful. The last person -(an actual person) I​ spoke to just wanted to argue with me and would not let me speak to his superior. He said he was senior and I needed to talk to him. I finally hung up. This has been the worst experience dealing with a company in my life. First guy comes to install: he doesn't have a pole to install it so he leaves saying he has to get one. He actually never returns and tells direct tv that we wanted it installed 200 ft from the house and cancelled my service! The actual distance was 32 feet. I spend an hour calling direct tv. An appt is made for a week later. The second guy never arrives-after I waited 5 hours he calls, finds out I need a pole and says he doesn't have one and again, cancels my order. I spend another hour on the phone. A third appt is made a week later. Installer never shows and never calls. I spend another hour on the phone. An appt is made for a week later. This fourth installer never shows and never calls. I spend another hour on the phone and am told my order was cancelled for unknown reasons. They set up a fifth appt. for a week later. Today, the first installer arrives ( the one who lied about distance of install and cancelled my service). He told me that he would install it on a pole, but someone else would have to bury the line and he had no idea how many weeks that would take !!!!!! OMFG! When I confronted him about when this policy started (this was never the case before when I had Direct tv) and why he denied lying to direct tv about the distance, he got in his unmarked van and immediately left, refusing to tell me his company, supervisor info, or anything else. I called direct tv and about 45 min later was told that yes, a separate person will come bury the line eventually. Really?! If they can't even show up and give me service to get payment how will I ever get them to show up and bury a line AFTER I'm locked into their 2 year contract???? I don't believe it. I have a stomach tumor dealing with this situation. I always liked the ease of maneuvering the Direct tv dvr and remote functions, but I'll never use them again. I have explained the situation to them DOZENS of times to dozens of direct tv employees. Apparently there are no repercussions to these companies that direct tv farms the work out to, that don't do the work or lie, or don't show up. The channel selections for movies and sports are best on DirectTV. The issue we have is the weather. If it rains, you do not get service. So, please only order DirecTV if you live in a city where it does not rain. Whenever I want to invite the "boys" over to watch the game, I have to check the weather forecast to make sure rain is not in the forecast. If it rains, I lose the game signal...and henceforth, I lose my friends! read more

I hate direct tv. I have them AND time warner cable. On DTV because they are the only provider that has international rugby games (a must for my husband). They do have a referral discount for 10 bucks a month for 10 months. They are a pain in the ass. I get flyers, emails and calls that are so frequent (marketed as a customer service check in) that is considered harassment. In addition, it's a total racket. They will give you channels for free automatically for 3 months (without your permission). and then you have to call them to have it taken off. They suck. Time warner is also a pain but they are hassle free in comparison to DTV. Also, after a surge or bad weather you have to check to make sure it is on/reset it. Then it takes another 24 hours to download the entire list if shows, etc. So if you don't, your stuff won't record. They say streaming is included (I travel so I should be able to log in and stream). Have never been able to get it to work and calling support was futile. read more

I moved here from California and called the Mover's Deal line to have my service changed. The phone call to get everything set up took over an hour and I was told someone could come out the following week. Whoever set it up put in the old address in CA for the installation, then the guy was 45 minutes late, and he took a two minute walk to tell me the dishes were facing the wrong way and I couldn't have DirecTV service here, then left. I chatted with DirecTV support who told me a dish should've been installed. I had to called the Mover's line yet again and set up another time for installation. This time, the supervisor came out and was supposed to install a dish, which didn't happen. I was then told that the only place to have a dish installed would require written approval from management and was advised they usually don't tell you that when you call for an install. So now, I get to debate if it's even worth it to continue my years of service with DirecTV or to just sign up for Google Fiber, which my building is already wired for. The customer service I've received from DirecTV since moving to Texas is nothing short of awful. I've had to take off work twice just to be told I can't have service and was advised they don't know were dishes are unless they come look at the building. Maybe this is something to remedy, knowing where dishes are, to save the company AND THE CUSTOMER time and money prior to being told that DirecTV service is not an option. read more

I only wish I could give zero stars! The contractor who installed our Direct TV broke off a piece of trim on the roofline of our house. About a week later, I discovered this damage, the broken off piece (roughly 9" by 3") laying on the grass in our side yard. I called AT&T and was given a claim number and was told I would receive a letter describing the claim process. A week later, no letter. I called the "direct" number I had been given during the previous call and was connected to what I believe was a foreign call center. After describing the issue I was told the letter would be emailed to me. A week later, no email. So I called again and after much discussion I was told that the service representative's supervisor was going to initiate payment to me immediately and would call back to confirm that this was done. No phone call. No reimbursement. So I made one more call. I was given a local address in Texas for an apparent contractor which handles installation (AT&T c/o Muiltiband Field Services, ATT: Risk Management, 2801 Network Blvd. Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034). I explained the situation fully, including photos of the damage and a receipt for the repairs ($180). I was also told I would receive a phone call from these people. More than a week later, no phone call, no reply to the letter, no reimbursement. So if you have a claim for damages that occurred during installation, good luck. Don't count on getting reimbursed for repairs. read more
