This company and I say that loosely deserves zero stars. This is the worst security system company ever! The equipment is poor quality and doesn't work. Customer service is non-existent. The customer salesman/representative misused my debit card/ debit information and when I called him on it he treated me like I was the criminal. In less than a month my service fee jumped from $53.99 to $54.99. Do not sign a contract with these people. If they knock on your door demand that they leave your property immediately and call the local police. They are supposed to bill you monthly however, they bill every two weeks. People it's a scam. I'm in contact with Elder Abuse Attorneys for financial abuse of seniors. Please contact me if you would like to start a class action suit against ADT. You don't have to be a senior! Having just bought a brand new house my Husband and I decided we needed some sort of security but hadn't actually got around to looking at local providers. Lucky for us we had a sales guy come to our door after installing for our 2 neighbors who promised us a great deal. Being some of the first people on a new street really pays. Matt M was the Tech that came to install for us and was very professional at installing and running us through how the whole system worked. Install only took about an hour and he was great at answering any questions we had. We have been with this company for a few years now. We have a ADT multi camera security and alarm system installed a few years ago, and upgraded in 2021. Direct Protection Security is by far the best ADT dealer out here in the Bay Area. The administrative staff and service technicians are 100% professional in their customer service skills Recently, I needed service and had to call ADT directly since my house contract with Direct had expired and turned over to ADT Corporate. After attempting to get ADT service out here, ( they cancelled my appointment twice after having waited 4 hrs for them to show up), I decided to call Direct Protection to see if they would service my cameras Magically Sonny, returned my call within a few hours( after 5 pm I might add) to say, YES, they could come. I was relieved and grateful that Sonny approved me continuing with them for my service needs, even if my account had been transferred to ADT. ADT is not a company to deal with directy as they are too big of a corporation Their tech support customer service lines are manned by inept reps. I had to go through 3 levels of agents, in order to get to a supervisor. Even with that, and having booked a second service call, ( the first one never showed after having waited 4 hrs), come to experience another 2nd appt booking, ( 4 hr wait time again, with a no show), I decided to call Direct Protection with the small chance they could come out. It was a great experience from beginning to end Jose, our original Direct Protection service tech who did the orginal nstall came out and as typical, he performed a stellar job. Not only is he personable with strong customer service skills, he answered every question I had which were many. Price wise, Direct is very competitive and provides excellent service better than dealing with ADT directly. I will be looking at another upgrade to a Google system. Take a look at this on their website, even with the top tier package, it still comes out to a better price than what i am paying now. With more features and service I might add. No deals here! Buy it now or forget it!!!! Made an apt. They needed my birthdate, last 4 numbers of my SS# and a credit card. The sales tech came out. He was pleasant and professional. However, when they come to your house to give you a quote it's not just a quote. They are expecting to sell you on the spot! If you do not buy you are told "the deal is for today only !!!" I was told that their time is money and it is not cheap! I asked to get a copy of the quote and was told no. I was told it's to expensive to send someone out again!!!! What a joke!!!! Most systems you can get installed for 60-65 .00 a month this includes the equipment. 29.00 service cost and 30-35 per month for 3 yrs to pay for equ. No interest charges. ADT will charge you 65.00 per month for JUST the service! Equipment will run you 1000.00+. read more

Update :Have had this provided for over a year . I would strongly recommend getting coverage directly through ADT , they will use inferior cámaras by Reolink who don't integrate into the ADT app , the doorbell has a completely different app & the customer service besides the guy who sold me the system has been atrocious ,I Recently changed my wifi password and all my systems went down . It's now been almost a month . They set up an appointment for me last week to have a technician come out and they never showed up , no call or notification. I even called them at both offices .Someone did call me and I was busy he said he'd call me back in 30 min and then called me an hour and a half later while I was busy doing something else . He offered to have a technician come out free of charge but only if I deleted my review . I then had the office call me the next day to schedule an appointment for this week , they text me the night before to confirm . I confirmed then about an hour later Saying the technician was still too new and wouldn't be able to make my appointment time & to reschedule at a time that I wasn't available. I signed up with adt. Our tech Jose Navarro was assigned and he provided a very positive installation on their behalf. I had a slew of questions. He answered then all patiently and with great detail. He even assisted in helping me learn unknown aspects of my house like faulty lighting and our doorbell while he was doing a walk around to determine our best security setup. Do not use this business, the business uses goggle nest but for some strange reason my sales rep installed all ring cameras, never received my free cameras as part of the contract he even charged me more money for cameras. Never received doorbell camera sales rep(Stephen) lied and said he installed a new one , one was already installed on home. I had cctv cameras already installed on home that said adt couldn't get help with these either I was supposed to get help from customer service Bershata , Sunny manager, Stephen sales rep, and the list goes on....for over 8 months this company has been a nightmare, last straw was Friday 29 tech was to come out and fix cctv cameras and install goggle nest even changed appt to accommodate him he gets here and states he was told not reset them and that was one of the main reasons for him coming . I just told him to leave and cancel my contract.sunny supervisor told me this after I called to complain about this even after I submitted the picture they requested to fix in a email they still pretended like they were coming to reset cameras. Don't go through this company just go through adt are any other company . One star because I have to give something. read more

They do not answer the phone even during normal business hours of operation. when you call there main line it will transfer to site for sore eyes in san ramon and a lady liz answers. there is one it tech who's great i have to give credit to *** Jose ** he is the best! AND he is also aware that his employer sonny is a lazy donkey. The owner and employees have the worse attitudes and they are so rude. Also the accounting Dept., tried to over charge my credit card on several occasions.. for a month that was already paid for. After bringing it to their attention, the following month they tried to double charge my credit card again but my bank denied it because I had already warned them about the shady company. It has been many times my Home alarm just goes off for no reason and the employees wont even help. lana left me on hold for 17 minutes (she is so fake & unprofessional) and then disconnected the call. i called back but no answer. During one visit the tech, joe came to fix a problem and the next day the sensors had fallen off the windows. Oh and he asked to use to restroom first before even starting the job. He should have called off sick because his stank butt shitted in our bathroom, he stunk up my whole house for at least 15-minutes. Air freshener did not Help When the 2nd tech came he said the system was not even set up properly and joe was new and not fully trained. 2022 memorial holiday weekend again, my alarm kept going off for no reason, so i kept calling & calling the office but could not get them to answer the phone for 2 days. AGAIN THEY FALSE ADVERTISE THAT THEY ARE AVAILABLE 24/7 AS ADT IS .. BUT THIS PLACE LIES, THEY ARE NOT! Now when the owner, sonny finally called me back he tells me there is nothing he can do because all of his techs are out, getting drunk & bbq'ing he told me Hey we like celebrating the holiday too. He literally told me to call him back 4 days later on Tuesday morning. Remember, my alarm was continuously going off loud as ever and we had to suffer. I asked him why do they false advertise that they are available for their customers 24/7 and his response was thats the business. This Review replaces an earlier more scathing review written after the initial installation and a followup installation failed to correct false alarms that woke me out of a sound sleep twice in a row. I tend to get very cranky on 3 hours sleep so I thought (in fairness) I'd rewrite this without bringing out the "big guns". First off. These are really nice people and seem committed to making things right. I wish I had not had occasion to deal with so many of them. So if "NICE" is important to you, look no further. Unfortunately my installation was botched. The first installation on a Tuesday, resulted in a false alarm alarm at 1:30 AM. I tried using the ADT APP to turn it off but it did not connect. I tried using the upstairs keypad to turn it off and that did not work (I later found out I need to enter my code AND #1), By the time I went downstairs, the alarm was going off. I entered my code and spoke to ADT and disarmed it. Even while disarmed though, the system kept beeping loudly every fifteen minutes or so and announcing a window had been opened. Finally, fully awake at about 3am, I figured out how to bypass the sensor that was triggering. Next morning, I called and made an appointment at 1PM two days later. I told them I would be out until 1:05 PM. Instead a new guy shows up at 12:15 and talks to my business partner (who does not live here). The tech was gone before I arrived! --- They really need to arrive when they say they will! That night, my master code no longer worked! Fortuanately I could use my parnter's code. Once again, at 2:30 AM the alarm (in stay mode) goes off. Same sensor. The next day they said they had no appointments available. But after some yelling, they agreed to send someone between 3 and 6pm. At 6:15pm - I had heard nothing so I called. Only then did they say they were not going to come. Again I yelled and they sent a very nice person to my home at 8pm on a Friday night. He showed me the original install (which looked like a rat's nest) and trimmed some wires and tightened some connections and declared it fixed. I was not brave enough actually try to use the alarm that night - I really needed some sleep! The next day, I turned on the alarm when my wife and I went shopping. As we were coming home, my wife saw that she had received a call about an alarm that went off about 15 minutes after we left the house. Curiously, I was not called, even though My number is first?? Sure enough, the alarm system had NOT been fixed. Same sensor. Tired of yelling, I agreed to an appointment 3 days later on a Tuesday (one week after the original installation). This time, a third guy comes out (very nice) and basically reinstalls the system and the sensors too. I believe my system is finally working now except for the outside siren which was supposed to be installed two days ago but I had to remind them about today. I also had to call because I got an invoice at the mailbox outside my house after specifically requesting any correspondence be sent to my PO box. It seems they just cannot get anything right the first time. So to recap, nice people BUT my installation took a week and 4 service calls to get right and they still haven't installed the outdoor siren I ordered! (probably a blessing in disguise 'cause I don't think the neighbors would be happy with me having a siren go off in the middle of the night). Also - on three occasions, they failed to show up at the times they had promised. And screwed up my mailing address I WANT to give them a good review but as of now I just can't. One extra star for being nice. That said, I doubt they would still be in business if most of their customers got the Three Stooges installation treatment that I did. read more

So, we had recently bought a house and were thinking of getting an alarm system, when these two sales people who look fresh out of college roll up in an unmarked white mini van. Need I say more? He thoroughly went through the process and never made us feel pressured to buy into anything. If he would have, I can guarantee you we wouldn't have purchased. The level of professionalism and care put into the installation from him and his team are second to none. Where in the past other companies would come and short cut every step and process, these guys would take their time to install the system and sensors correctly. Initially, I had pretty bad experience from one of the field sales representative -- install appointments were rescheduled for multiple times, and the installation fee which is supposed to be waived got charged to my account. I left a negative review about my experience on Yelp. The regional manager, Jesse Manibusan contacted me after seeing my review. He apologized for the bad experience I had, refunded the installation fee, and also gave me 4 months monitoring service for free. He obviously cares about the reputation of the business, and is willing to repair the customer relationship when things go wrong. read more

They charge every time they come out even if it's an error on their part, technicians are not very well trained or very knowledgeable and oh boy there customer service department is in bad shape to. They also don't respond to emails so when they discourage you from calling and encourage you to go on a website that you get no satisfaction from or response.
