    Imagine Security helped install a security system with my company. they were reasonably priced, so…read morewe went ahead and went with them. they took care of the job fast. the reason i took two stars away are: - The rep promised us that we could watch the security cameras on our smart phones when were away from work and that they would show us how to apply that to our phone. when the install happened, no such tutorials or installs happened with the smart phones. we tried ourselves but I guess we arent computer literate. -They didnt tell us when they were coming in exactly to do the job, when they were finished they didnt tell us -We called them after about the cameras on our phone, they seemed as if they didnt appreciate our business and just blew us off. -Months later we called them to add a few more cameras to our system here, and they told us our system now wouldnt allow for it (they said the opposite when we initially had it installed). Then the price quote they gave us was way more expensive than of the original which included a lot more leg work for them.

Disappointing customer service once the system is already installed and you are locked into a contract is bad enough. But unfortunately, once your contract finally expires you are not done with the headache and the hassle, as it is harder to cancel COMCAST then to get someone on the line at Imagine AVS who can cancel your service for you. I have sent a letter, sent multiple emails, left voicemails, etc. all with no response. Honestly, go with someone else. In addition to ALL THAT we received some bogus scam letter saying that although we had been paying Imagine AVS, they weren't paying the monitoring company, so we should let David set us up with something else... seemed like a ploy to manipulate accounts that had expiring contracts into renewing. Honestly it is ridiculous. Once they have your thousands of dollars for the system, they don't care if you are paying $1000 a year for monitoring- they can't be bothered. I am telling you, don't judge based off of the good reviews- they are all praising the install- and the install is actually done by techs who work for MANY companies. Go out and get ADT, Skyline, Guardians- a company that will still pick up the phone AFTER you install the system and set up monthly automatic withdrawals.

Now, four months later, she's no longer here and we have work order that was opened when we moved in that has still not been fixed. I've emailed and visited our apartment management multiple times in person to get this fixed, but the emails never get a reply and no follow-up ever comes. Overall, the amenities are nice, the walls are thick so relatively little sound, and we've been pretty happy. But being unable to get a simple fix for FOUR months doesn't bode well if we have any real problems, and maintenance around parking & trash have been bumpy. For the price point, I expect better.

I've had numerous interactions with Janis, Mary, and Tiffany, and they are all so warm and helpful. They made my move-in process painless and were a joy to work with along the way. I honestly can't pass through the lobby without stopping and chatting with them because they're just awesome people. Second, the space. This building is brand new and everything is state of the art and SO clean. My studio apartment feels spacious and modern. I'm thrilled that there's a fitness room and a yoga/dance room with mirrors. The top floor outdoor lounge overlooking downtown is a treat as well. It even has a bbq grill and a glass fireplace. I'm excited to have friends over to use the space. Finally, the community. Obviously they're still leasing out apartments because they just opened, but I will say that every resident I've bumped into around here so far has been lovely. Someone saw me wandering around looking for the trash room and led me straight to it. I intend to contribute to a warm and helpful community, and with folks like Janis / Mary / Tiffany running the place, I think that's very likely to be a reality here. If it makes financial sense for you, I'd seriously consider the Moran. It's in a great area in uptown Oakland, it's run by fantastic bright helpful folks, and it's just a great place to call home.
