I lived in this apartment for 10 years, so I know all the pros and cons…read more Pros: - Close to BART station - Some updated appliances - Some friendly staff, maintenance staff and hard working cleaning staff On premises Amazon locker inside the garage gates Cons: - BART trains are loud at night - Fire alarms go off often and fire trucks come even in the middle of the night - Trash bins are always full and overflowing. Residents tend to not throw away their garbage properly and leave it sitting inside the room with the garbage chutes. - Cigarette smoke smell comes into the apartment from somewhere with residents smoke -Takes a long time for hot water to come out - Elevators break down often, and it can take a long time to get them fixed. - Parking fee is extra (2 car tandem is about $150) - Other than gas and electric, have to pay most utilities shared (in the neighborhood of $150 so it depends on your neighbors' usage more than your own) - The last couple years the rent increases have been at the maximum allowed by the county - Get a lot of pigeons that end up on the balcony and poop there - A lot of ants, flies and roaches without any obvious pest control We finally moved out because rent increased to the point where it didn't make any sense to stay compared to buying a house, which we were finally able to do recently. Toward the end, the laundry machine's pipe apparently clogged up. It sounded like they wanted to open up the wall to get access to it, but since we were so close to moving out we used our new house's washer to do our clothes. This kind of problem happened once before also the apartment above us. The laundry machine flooded and we had to run the dehumidifier for 3 days. Things like window screens, blinds, etc. seemed to break or fall out fairly easily. That being said, because those aren't major issues, we didn't want to bother the maintenance staff to fix. They charged us for that when we moved out, even though they probably would have replaced it for free if we had reported it while we lived there. Above all else, they charged us for pest removal for a dishwasher we never used that was installed 11 months ago after they completed a renovation that we accommodated, and effectively forced us to do, threatening higher rent if we didn't allow it. During that they completely opened up the wall and the counter between the kitchen and living room, which feels like where they may have come from. There were also ants a lot and flies as well. When we gave notice that we were moving out, we were asked to choose a time for a pre move out walkthrough, which we requested a Tuesday about two weeks out, thinking that it might be easier to figure out what we would need to remedy once some of our stuff moved out. They basically wanted to do it about 5 days after we gave notice, the Tuesday before we wanted. We had very little moved out, and they seemed to concentrate on the carpet and a few other incidental things. We went to the office to talk to them about it, but they didn't want to change the date of the pre move out inspection. Since we left, we've tried contacting the office, "Equity Residential", where it seems to ring and the last two times we called, disconnected after ringing a couple times. We've also tried contacting one of their prior resident relations offices, left a voicemail with no call back. Also we emailed the office person "Amber" but she e-mailed us back saying she couldn't open the e-mail and just mentioning the balance we owe. It seems like it's easier to ignore us, because trying to withhold payment will do way more damage to us than any argument that we could make. It's been hard to get a hold of a person to talk one on one with, which feels irresponsible. We lived there for ten years, and would hope we could get a little more respect and consideration than that, rather than being just another transaction for them.

When I asked her for help she said "I can't do anything about it and it's going to take me very long to review the videos" The fence was left like this for weeks. We have a neighbor that screams all day long starting at 3 AM and we had made numerous complaints to the manager and nothing has been done. I have also emailed their regional manager Caitlin King and never got a replied back. I guess bad management is what this company has. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE it's not worth it and it's disgusting I hope the city cites it. update-- I KNEW the business owner account was going to respond with some nonsense and advice to talk to the manager that is careless, lazy and incompetent. This apartment has been a nightmare from the beginning and we're learning of…read morethe ongoing safety issues in this building from residents that were not disclosed during move-in. - The building has an ongoing fire alarm issue which the management has failed to respond to for over a month. It goes off every night around 11pm disrupting the sleep and all the residents have become sick of it and discussing a collective action. Even the fire department said the building has failed to comply with their notices to get it replaced for years!!! In case of a real emergency, no one is gonna know because of these false alarms and this is the biggest safety issue - Had the worst possible move-in experience here. The leasing manager ghosted us after we paid and the replacement was someone who was managing remotely from San Diego. We were promised several things like the really old tiles in the apt that were going to be changed, but the new manager denied upfront. The condition of the house during move-in was poor. Windows were filthy dirty, the blinds were missing/broken and the house wasn't cleaned properly (we found some toy of previous tenant in the bathroom) and the management failed to appropriately respond to these issues. Their property manager told they'd get us sticky tiles and change the blinds because the light at night is too bright inside the bedroom, but they simply went back on their word. - There is no on-site management or security so no one cares about any issues in the building - The building constantly faces maintenance issues, the elevator of our building has been broken for half of the time we've lived here. The garage door was stuck for days and we couldn't take the car out because no one responds on weekends even for emergencies. Even after that, their solution was to leave garage door wide open for days until it was repaired which was a big safety issue. - Common areas are filthy and almost never get cleaned, we've seen dog pee and dustbins full several times for several days and you can't bear the smell of the trash room because it's never cleaned. - The amenities are a joke - they'll tell you they have this and that but nothing is ever maintained. All we saw after move-in was a broken foosball table, non-working printer and non-working tv in lounge area. When we raised complaint, they simply removed everything instead of fixing it lol - Packages are poorly managed and I've lost a package. No delivery provider uses the fancy safe system they'll show you during tour. - The utilities cost is exorbitant compared to what I've paid in luxury buildings in prime areas of SF. In short, this is far from a luxury building and needs serious amount of work and an onsite team to get it working right. It has also come to light that their fire alarm system, water sprinkler system and backup generator have not been operational for several years and there are open complains with SF City Attorney against this building. Stay away from here!

WHEN HER MOTHER PASSED, I EVEN SENT HER A GIFT TO LIFT HER SPIRTS. I don't even recall if she said Thank You. She is never in the office or rarely answers the phone. The problems started with my car being broken into. She did not reply to any emails. She didn't even want to acknowledge that my car was broken into. I had to call and ask her about updates. She acted like reviewing cameras is so hard. I worked security for a long time in college. It takes two mins. She never wants trace of the building's wrong doings (is what I came to the conclusion of). She likes to verbalize certain situations but won't reply back to emails. That indicates to me she wants no record of the things that take place in the building. I pay 150 per month for parking. When the break in happen, she told me security did everything they could, and I will not get a discount on the monthly bill due to it not being the buildings fault. I understood because at the end of the day security can't be everywhere. My thing is don't pretend nothing happens in this building, if it is. That's what she like to do. She will be quick to say, "oh we never have a break in", we never have this or that", "that never happened here in this community " blah blah. Multiple of my packages have been stolen. So don't tell me something is not happening when I see it is. I see random people walk in and out of that building all the time. Which ok I still didn't have a problem; she is doing her shitty ass job. The problems really started when the mold spread in my unit. I discovered mold on 02/22/23. I sent Chantel an email about it. My unit did receive "remediation". Respectly, "remediation" was NEVER done. I watched as those contractors PAINTED OVER THE MOLD. I Digress. Recently the mold appeared back and WORSE. To a point where my son and I were consistently getting sick, and I am having migraines. I told her and again, in ( her passive aggressive nature) to me she made it seem like it's no big deal. She told me it wouldn't be an overnight fix. She did say " Oh you shouldn't be living like this" but guess what ?? I still am Come to find out 45% of that building has mold. DUE to THEM NOT PUTTING the correct windows when they were building it. The company is aware of this (Pacifica real estate). They are also aware of the elevators being constantly down. They already received a complaint about the elevators. The city of SF gave them a warning or whatever to fix it. They posted it and she took it down. It was also a incident, with my sister coming to my house before. Chantel treated my sister so badly. There were also incidents with my 8-year-old son, who said she yelled at him. Due to the building NOT BEING CHILDREN FRIENDLY. Which is crazy because when I first move there. The whole 4th floor was occupied, and I would hear and see kids playing soccer. DO NOT MOVE HERE. They may look good. They even maybe be spacious for San Francisco, but sometimes what glitters is not gold. Chantel if you read this, I wish you nothing but the best. I hope you start to form better morals and values. And start to be more forthcoming with people about that place. Even if it's your job we all have a person in our heads telling us if something is wrong or right. You come off very high-handedness and lordliness. This review is for the tour itself, will update after our move in. We scheduled the tour on the website (which most likely was handled by AI agent just like most of the other properties nowadays) and when we showed up nobody was at the lobby. We waited for 10-15 minutes, called the number on the website etc and was lucky to bumped into one of their maintenance guy who then texted Priscilla. Despite the mixed up and our appointment didn't actually made it into her calendar, she was able to accommodate us and showed us a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedrooms apartment (both with view of the mountain which we love). We were hoping for one with the view of the ocean but none was available at the time (we're hoping to maybe upgrade in the future should one becomes available). The apartments were very spacious, even the 1 bedroom, and the place looks clean, well maintained and luxurious. We were excited the moment we walked in. There seems to be plenty of street parking or paid parking in the garage for $270.

Cons: - storage lockers are all different sizes so you'll never know what kind of space you'll end up having - some garages are manual and some have a remote (you pay extra $50/mo for it) - occasionally, you'll hear airplanes fly over you (airport nearby) and can hear a bit of cars driving over the freeway (since that's kind of your view from the balcony). - heat stays in well esp. in the summer and since there is no AC in the unit, you gotta open your windows often (thank god the sliding window doors are huge and there is a screen). - closest mailbox is wayyyy up the hill (a block away) on Gellert. - you gotta mail rent to the landlord every month instead of being able to walk over and hand it over to the apartment manager.

Cons: - Quite noisy since 280 is right next to the apartment and air planes fly over your head. - Daly city is very foggy and wet. - Laundry is shared between units and can sometimes be crowded by your neighbors; but at least it is available in the building. - No security system (e.g. surveillance camera). The neighborhood is mostly a safe residential area, but my bike got stolen while parked the garage. The management was unable to do much other than having me file a police report.

Warning for Pacific Place Apartments in Daly City…read more I want to make residents and management aware of a serious situation happening inside this apartment complex. There is a business called Mutt and Tumble that is being run out of one of the units here, operating as a board and train for dogs without any license or permit. This is not an approved or legal business, and I have reason to believe animals have been mistreated and abused there. It is extremely concerning that something like this is being allowed to continue inside a residential building. I have tried calling the management office multiple times, but no one answers the phone, and it's frustrating that this issue is being ignored. Pacific Place Apartments should not be allowing an unlicensed business that harms animals to operate in their complex. I hope the management takes action immediately and investigates this before more dogs are hurt.

We eventually got in when someone else opened the door, yet the leasing office was closed. We ended up waiting for more than 20 min and thankfully one of the maintenance guy saw us and called the leasing agent for us so we get to do our tour. Once we met Edgar our tour went smoothly. The apartment we viewed was a 2 bedrooms where one of the room doesn't comes with a window hence the rent for that unit was lower and it was really spacious. Our only complain was the lack of view from window - it was facing the parking lot at the back, but that's just our preference of having a view of some sort of nature.

The floor to ceiling glass windows gives it a feeling of a much bigger place, I had no one coming to visit me without saying how nice the view was. Luckily I have never encounter any issue or problem of any kind, if anything needed repair or adjustment, Mike (the property manager/handyman) fixed it all right away and even saved me a few times when I got locked out!! Oopps!! I have the nices experience with Debby (Mike's wife and also property manager) she was nice and maternal and always there for any concerns or doubts. I will totally recommend anyone and encourage people to move there and give it a try! Location is one of the best things.. Blocks.. literally blocks away from San Mateo Downtown and even fewer blocks from Burlingame Downtown.. cannot be any more convenient, I never ran out of options or places to eat or order in.
