DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! This apartment has been a nightmare from the beginning and we're learning of the ongoing safety issues in this building from residents that were not disclosed during move-in. - The building has an ongoing fire alarm issue which the management has failed to respond to for over a month. It goes off every night around 11pm disrupting the sleep and all the residents have become sick of it and discussing a collective action. Even the fire department said the building has failed to comply with their notices to get it replaced for years!!! In case of a real emergency, no one is gonna know because of these false alarms and this is the biggest safety issue - Had the worst possible move-in experience here. The leasing manager ghosted us after we paid and the replacement was someone who was managing remotely from San Diego. We were promised several things like the really old tiles in the apt that were going to be changed, but the new manager denied upfront. The condition of the house during move-in was poor. Windows were filthy dirty, the blinds were missing/broken and the house wasn't cleaned properly (we found some toy of previous tenant in the bathroom) and the management failed to appropriately respond to these issues. Their property manager told they'd get us sticky tiles and change the blinds because the light at night is too bright inside the bedroom, but they simply went back on their word. - There is no on-site management or security so no one cares about any issues in the building - The building constantly faces maintenance issues, the elevator of our building has been broken for half of the time we've lived here. The garage door was stuck for days and we couldn't take the car out because no one responds on weekends even for emergencies. Even after that, their solution was to leave garage door wide open for days until it was repaired which was a big safety issue. - Common areas are filthy and almost never get cleaned, we've seen dog pee and dustbins full several times for several days and you can't bear the smell of the trash room because it's never cleaned. - The amenities are a joke - they'll tell you they have this and that but nothing is ever maintained. All we saw after move-in was a broken foosball table, non-working printer and non-working tv in lounge area. When we raised complaint, they simply removed everything instead of fixing it lol - Packages are poorly managed and I've lost a package. No delivery provider uses the fancy safe system they'll show you during tour. - The utilities cost is exorbitant compared to what I've paid in luxury buildings in prime areas of SF. In short, this is far from a luxury building and needs serious amount of work and an onsite team to get it working right. It has also come to light that their fire alarm system, water sprinkler system and backup generator have not been operational for several years and there are open complains with SF City Attorney against this building. I have been living here for the past 2 years. Chantel appeared to be nice when I first encountered her. She even helped me get the place to the fact that I do have a housing voucher. Alot of people have negative views on individuals with section 8. So, I was very grateful for her at the time. I even bought her a gift because I WAS SO GRATFUL FOR HER. WHEN HER MOTHER PASSED, I EVEN SENT HER A GIFT TO LIFT HER SPIRTS. I don't even recall if she said Thank You. She is never in the office or rarely answers the phone. The problems started with my car being broken into. She did not reply to any emails. She didn't even want to acknowledge that my car was broken into. I had to call and ask her about updates. She acted like reviewing cameras is so hard. I worked security for a long time in college. It takes two mins. She never wants trace of the building's wrong doings (is what I came to the conclusion of). She likes to verbalize certain situations but won't reply back to emails. That indicates to me she wants no record of the things that take place in the building. I pay 150 per month for parking. When the break in happen, she told me security did everything they could, and I will not get a discount on the monthly bill due to it not being the buildings fault. I understood because at the end of the day security can't be everywhere. My thing is don't pretend nothing happens in this building, if it is. That's what she like to do. She will be quick to say, "oh we never have a break in", we never have this or that", "that never happened here in this community " blah blah. Multiple of my packages have been stolen. So don't tell me something is not happening when I see it is. I see random people walk in and out of that building all the time. Which ok I still didn't have a problem; she is doing her shitty ass job. The problems really started when the mold spread in my unit. I discovered mold on 02/22/23. I sent Chantel an email about it. My unit did receive "remediation". Respectly, "remediation" was NEVER done. I watched as those contractors PAINTED OVER THE MOLD. I Digress. Recently the mold appeared back and WORSE. To a point where my son and I were consistently getting sick, and I am having migraines. I told her and again, in ( her passive aggressive nature) to me she made it seem like it's no big deal. She told me it wouldn't be an overnight fix. She did say " Oh you shouldn't be living like this" but guess what ?? I still am Come to find out 45% of that building has mold. DUE to THEM NOT PUTTING the correct windows when they were building it. The company is aware of this (Pacifica real estate). They are also aware of the elevators being constantly down. They already received a complaint about the elevators. The city of SF gave them a warning or whatever to fix it. They posted it and she took it down. It was also a incident, with my sister coming to my house before. Chantel treated my sister so badly. There were also incidents with my 8-year-old son, who said she yelled at him. Due to the building NOT BEING CHILDREN FRIENDLY. Which is crazy because when I first move there. The whole 4th floor was occupied, and I would hear and see kids playing soccer. DO NOT MOVE HERE. They may look good. They even maybe be spacious for San Francisco, but sometimes what glitters is not gold. Chantel if you read this, I wish you nothing but the best. I hope you start to form better morals and values. And start to be more forthcoming with people about that place. Even if it's your job we all have a person in our heads telling us if something is wrong or right. You come off very high-handedness and lordliness. Fantastic building and incredibly spacious units for San Francisco. Great views and generally good amenities although we moved during Covid so the gym and the clubhouse have been shut the entirety of our stay here. Richard the maintenance guy is amazing and incredibly responsive. Building utility expenses are absolutely bonkers. Our experience has been slightly soured by the unresponsiveness of the property manager post signing of the lease. They changed my paid parking spot without notice and refused to talk about it. I wish I had the sense to get it in writing. read more

I am updating my review to reflect some positive changes that have been made. We moved into our apartment about 2 years ago since we needed more space for our growing family. Initially, things started out great. The space is humongous according to San Francisco standards, and the views of the Bay are enchanting. Previously there were a ton of concerns I had regarding basic communication, but now that leadership in the corporation's office has changed, we now have an email system that provides updates on things going on in and around the building (such as being notified about a recent fire in the San Bruno mountains, and the updates on all the elevator issues we've been having...and more on that later). Kelly has been working to communicate better and now there are signs posted in most of the common areas with after hours numbers, and the door has a sign indicating whether she is in the office or not. Definitely a step in the right direction! While we previously had issues with mold, we were able to get Rich the maintenance guy out almost the next day to help clean it up, which we truly appreciate. He has definitely been on top of things and responsive to repair issues in a timely manner. I added a star for the updates, but sadly we still have issues with the elevator being out (and me having to be superwoman and now carry my 23 lb -each twin toddlers up and down flights. That is definitely still a nightmare that I hope gets fixed soon. Otherwise, I will say it feels good to be heard and to have changes implemented in and around the complex by Kelly. And you still can't beat the views (or the square footage). read more

I was skeptical of the neighborhood at first because of what I heard from people BUT after driving by the complex multiple times throughout the day, I found it more appealing than the downtown due to the available parking spaces (during the day) no constructions on every block and no homeless people sleeping in front of the entrance. I've been here almost a year now and management and staff have been beyond helpful with my needs, they are understanding and quick with maintenance orders! They also keep the comunal space super clean and people who live in the building are family oriented, polite and respectful! I also feel like the square footage that we get here for the price point is very fair! I have kids so I love the fact that we are super close to a great playground and that they have a game room and gym in the building. The views from the decks are pretty amazing at night as well. I would say the only downside is the night time parking but I think that's pretty much anywhere in San Francisco. read more

If zero stars was possible, that's what they would get. The new manager sounds nice but once you need to leave or something does not go they way she wants or expects she will personally attack you. I will never move back to this place, and I will do everything in my power to prevent someone I know from going here. Things are not done 100% according to laws, yet she claims they are. I am a housing paralegal and I work every day with landlords and tenants going through evictions. This was not an eviction, so it should have been a peaceful exit, but it wasn't. The manager began to make personal insults when I pointed out that our liability insurance we pay DIRECTLY to them should cover the little bit of damage that is in the apartment stating "you're not a lawyer you only make phone calls. I have done this for 20 years". As for the quality of the unit, it looks nice but they way they paint is cheap so even a command strip removes paint from the wall to which they want to make you responsible. Two tiles chipped in the bathroom so she said we have to replace the whole wall ($12,000) cause the tile "is no longer manufactured", which legally, the tenant is not responsible for! She also is charging us $300 to clean the apartment because of "COVID" when my mother-in-law works for a professional cleaning company (which we told her). RENTER BEWARE! read more

*UPDATE- i've made a new account so I am importing my reviews over to this one. It began as an amazing modern intriguing apartment complex. We immediately fell in loved and wanted in. The amenities were quite appealing, stainless steel furniture, gas stove, in home laundry, small gym (humble, the type you find in your own home) , a rec room a two floor gated garage a few security cameras and a gated intercom front door. After moving in we quickly realized the neighborhood isn't the best neighborhood to live in. The facade of a safe gated living apartment was not true. Anyone can have easy access to the complex and the garage was a huge victim to theft. The cameras probably doesn't even work and the way the garage was designed I've seen people climb the squared windows along the walls of the parking garage to gain access. My roommate and I have chased away burglars with bats, warned upper management and nothing has been done. Within the year of living here a next door neighbor have caught thugs from the projects down the block from us breaking into cars. Doing drugs in the parking garage and plants in the vicinity vandalized. Personally my convertible top has been slashed to gain access to my car and my motorcycle has been stolen. Its either this past year I've been extremely unlucky or security isn't priority here at "highpoint 1888 Geneva" The oddly placed elevators in the complex never work, there are ten floors and to get to each floors you have to run through a maze to get to the very top. Its a little frustrating if you have heavy loads of groceries or items. The elevators never work most of the time and we've have to walk 6 flights of stairs to get to our home probably 80% of the year. Definitely not a family friendly place- the San Francisco fresh air here is non existence- it is replaced by the aroma of marijuana smoke at almost every corridor. Worst of all is the onsite manager is mostly high all the time and does not respond or keep his promise. After my car was broken into he promised to look through tapes and failed to even provide a follow up or feedback. Even after we've asked again. We've now moved out and they're not even willing to pay us our back our deposit! after losing nearly 9000 dollars worth of personal belongings. totally not recommended. Worst of all they're going through foreclosure and there are multiple owners living at the complex now that are ill-responsive as well. I know exactly where they live too and they're way too scared to confront me cause they know they've scammed us. read more

We've really enjoyed our 2 year stay in High Point Apartments. We rented a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath unit from October of 2012, to October of 2014. The only reason we had to move out is that our roommate had to move to SoCal and we couldn't afford the rent on our own -- if we could, then we would have just stayed here! What we love: - They're PET FRIENDLY! - Carol (the property manager) hosts free parties for the residents when there are special occasions like the super bowl. - When something gets broken - light bulb stops working, ref needs a new filter, etc. - then all you need is to e-mail Carol and she'll take care of it ASAP. - There is a community room / club house with a small fitness center, a pool table, and some arcade games for kids. - You can't beat the view - at least from our 9th floor apartment facing the bay. - Just cross the street and you're already on a very huge park where you can hike and walk your dogs. - Their walls are so thick, even if you host a party at 2AM, your neighbors won't be able to hear you. - The bus stop is right outside their lobby. Then you can take a 10min bus ride to the BART station to go downtown. If only we can afford the place by ourselves, we would have stayed there. read more

I terminated my lease because my car was broken into 3+ times while parked inside the garage. I wasn't the only one who was getting my things stolen inside the garage. The on-site management is HORRIBLE. We knocked on his door one night to report a break in and the manager turns his lights off and ignores us. They've lost our least agreement and REFUSE to return our security deposit! Poorly maintained. Elevators smell like wet dogs, and working half the time. I've spotted puke inside the building multiple times, on the carpet in the stairwells.. and it was left there for 5+ days to dry and stink up. I REALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. It might seem like a hell of a deal at first... but you really get what you pay for. Lots of crime around the area, lots of people getting robbed and mugged. read more

I am two weeks shy of one year at this complex and I absolutely love it. While there have been a few minor maintenance issues on the whole, it has been terrific. My unit was brand new when I moved in and has very high end appliances as well as being very spacious and beautiful. I lived at High Point for 1 year and was sad to leave. I loved how beautiful the apartments are! The apartment I lived in had a beautiful view of the Bay. I saw the sunrise every morning! I was spoiled with wood floors, a spacious apartment, granite, skylights, a gas stove and other high end appliances. I miss having a fireplace! High Point had the best club house of any apartments I've ever seen. Also, the apartment manager was super friendly, professional, and prompt. Maintenance requests were satisfied usually within a day. The maintenance staff was really friendly as well and always smiling. The apartment also has secured parking and entrance. I always felt safe in the parking garage. All the neighbors are really friendly. Bart is right down the street and bus stops are right outside the front entrance so there is still the option of not driving while living there. I highly recommend these apartments. The neighborhood is really dull and lacks amenity. There is nothing decent in walking distance. It is also unsafe, and security in this building is not what is could be. I smell marijuana in the elevators sometimes. One of the elevators has been out of action for months. Avoid unless you really need a cheap place. read more

I have been at HighPoint since 2013, running on my 6th year, this was actually my 2nd choice when I toured this condo in 2010, but I moved to a newer luxury condo closed by , Ashton , really nice with friendly and accommodating staff, led by John and Albert, free Starbucks coffee, Friday get together parties, etc. but my rent went up almost double in 2013 and so when my lease went up, I decided to check this place back and I was amazed of several changes they made at this apartment. This is one place you get a bang for your buck, spacious living space, amazing view, ample light, modern design, upgraded kitchen appliances, very nice, massive clubhouse that can hold up to 200 guests, very pet friendly, etc. I got the 3 bed 2.5 bath on the 6th floor, its penthouse living, my friends and relatives love my place. Over the years I didn't really have problems with previous property management headed by Carolyn back then and when she left the company, she was replaced by amazing team of Kelly, Rich , Erasmo . They keep the building nice and implemented many changes to make residents get more value for the rent they are paying for, they have worked with Amazon/Ebay/Fedex/UPS in delivering packages safely , making sure they're not being left at the lobby. They have installed video monitoring systems in the garage and other parts of the building to keep the place safe and secured. They implemented strict dog policy to keep the areas clean. They are planning on having get together for residents to discuss community issues as well as to acquaint residents and make this place a social hub. I wish I can buy this place. read more

We moved in because of the good price. A year later we found out that our closets were completely infested with black mold. They helped cover the expenses of cleaning everything in the closets but told us we could only put a very limited amount of stuff in them and if the mold started growing again it would be our fault. I had to spray walls and windows with bleach water every month to control it. We would have moved but our income was to low to afford it. We got back from vacation in January this year to find a note on our door saying they are raising our rent $1,200 per month. The market in sf is crazy and me and my wife and kids were being forced into the streets. Stay far away from this place because of many hidden problems read more
