if I could give them zero stars I would. completely overcharged in the most dishonest way for a cooktop installation in a rental we own in Modesto. So underhanded. And we've been a repeat customer with them. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. EVER! read more

Purchased an expensive refrigerator here. 12 hours after delivery it became apparent that it was not getting cold and was broken. I sent them a text message about this and got no response. Two days later I called and was told that they delivered the appliance and were 100% done with me. They would not stand behind the sale, if I wanted a tech to come out it would be $150. My only remedy was to work with the manufacturer and have a non-operating fridge for weeks to months in the meantime. Every single other retailer in town allows for you to return appliances like this for a refund if you notify them within 24hrs, like I did. Some appliance retailers in town even have refund policies to to 2 weeks. With these guys its nothing! read more

I just spent over 23,000.00 with this company for a complete Thermador kitchen though Brandon. They tried to get me to use a guy to hook up the gas line on the 48" range and bring the refrigerator that they left in the garage inside and hook up the water for 2300.00. He was not willing to do anything even when he admitted they charge 175.00 for the range hookup - this was a complete scam. I will never buy another product from this company - it is unfortunate as they carry decent appliances but a total rip off when it comes to servicing what they sell. Would suggest anyone look elsewhere before spending the kind of money I just spent for the scamming and terrible customer support from these guys. Can not believe the lack of customer care. read more

The service repair department is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Came out to fix my dishwasher. After a few minutes I was told he couldn't remove my dishwasher to continue to diagnose/repair it. I had to call Best Buy, argue with them for two days to get someone to come remove it from under the counter. Geek Squad came out today, opened the door, lifted up slightly and pulled it out! Now Direct Appliance won't come back out unless I get another repair order from Bosch. Got it, called back only to be told another repair company is taking over. I told Suzie if the tech wasn't so lazy this would've already been taken care of! We have 8 people living in our house and no dishwasher! Then she had the nerve to hang up on me! Never use Direct Appliance again!!!!!!! read more

Juan was very professional and installed in no time! We want to use them again when we purchase a stove top!

RJ worked with us helping to replace our refrigerator & kept in touch from beginning to end. We needed a white French door fridge to match the rest of the appliances we have & he was able to find us a model that we absolutely love. Can't say enough good things about the service he provided. Definitely went above & beyond what you'd ever get from any big box store. Thank you RJ & Direct Appliance! read more

So, I bought a Bosch dishwasher this year. Janette helped us, at Direct Appliance in Modesto. She said it's the best dishwasher on the market. She said direct appliance will take care of us, we just sign up for a long term agreement and not have to worry about service. After installation, I noticed the control panel was not responding properly intermittently. Over time it got worse. I called direct and they referred me to a company named New Leaf New Leaf said they would contact the service rep and that that would call me. The service rep turned out to be Sears. It took 5 days, they came out with no parts. They diagnosed a faulty control panel. They said the new panel would come to me, and that I have to call again to have it installed. I called twice, left a message. Four days later the sears rep called and said he was running late and would be at my home at 21:30-1:15. I had another apt. And since I had no idea he was coming, I told him he would have to come the next day. He said he couldn't, that I should call and schedule a service call! I complained, he said, ok I will handle it Today a service rep showed up. Smelled like he stepped out of a cigar factory. He has been here for over an hour, has no idea how to do this. So much for direct appliance claim that they provide the service. Forget sears, they cannot find their way home. read more

This is not an honest business. We spent $12k in a set of kitchen appliances, including a Kitchen Aid refrigerator. The unit failed and the owner of this Modesto Direct Appliance told my senior citizen father that it was a bad compressor, and he could fix it in about a month, but suggested he buy a whole new fridge. My dad, in the meantime had another technician check it out and determines it was just a bad relay. He fixed it in 5 minutes for $85.00. When my 75 year old father asked Modesto Direct to please reimburse for the $85 relay, he told dad "it's your problem now" (his exact words) while the unit was only 1 year old. After buying about 5 high end appliances. Unbelievable. This is not good business, to say the least and I would avoid this company if I were you. Unless you want to over spend and be disrespected and jipped when you try to get them to honor a warranty and take care of you. It certainly won't happen here. I am half tempted to go in there and pop that guy in his jaw for the disrespect of my dad, who spent his retirement money here. Total jerk. read more

Our home warranty company sent Direct Appliance out when Sears failed to properly diagnose and repair our refrigerator. The tech, Anthony, was thorough and knowledgeable. His skills were on display and he was able to properly diagnose and repair our 19 year old Whirlpool side by side. We are so impressed with his professionalism and the entire experience with Direct Appliance and their communication process. I must say it's refreshing to deal with a locally owned business that cares about the needs of their customers. read more

Jeanette needs to be FIRED! just read all the bad reviews about her specifically. She lies, pisses customers off, is not knowledgeable, and simply reads from the website. She mocks anyone who knows more than her. And when I was there in person, several employees there had issues with her and refused to even work around her. I ended up to tell her to leave me alone and I switched sales persons and bought from them instead. Direct appliance is the best. Jeanette is ruining that place from the inside Even certain repair men who work for them only deal with her to do the billing to the customer. If they have to change over the phone for add ons, why do these scammers only ask for her name? They don't want others in on it. And management needs to see this. read more

My rating is not based on the before purchase - since they were very helpful with giving me the information I needed in order to choose my appliance - the delivery was done very well also. However, after that their service is lacking. I received my fridge on Tuesday the 10th of Oct. On Thursday I noticed a squeak in one of my fridge doors. I called Friday to ask someone to come out and check - I spoke with Chad in Sales - he said someone would call me back - no one did. On Tuesday I called the salesperson that sold me the fridge - he too said someone would get back to me - it is Wednesday afternoon and still no one has gotten back to me. VERY DISAPPOINTED read more

We had a good experience with Brandon when we first went in to select new appliances for our kitchen renovation. After that the experience kept going downhill. From missing parts, to not being told about installation kits needed to install that are only included when "they" install your appliances, to attitude on the phone, to taking nearly 2 months for a major appliance to arrive, and poor communication, to having to argue with a delivery driver about delivering the appliances through my front door (which is easier for all involved) when he said they have to deliver to a garage. One of the appliances arrived not in a box missing a part which would suggest it was a returned item. This has been a horrible experience with this company. I would go somewhere else if I could do it all over again. read more

I needed a new range for my rental and a friend recommended Direct Appliance. The purchase was easy, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that the delivery driver would call me when he was on his way to the house. I was not happy with the thought I could spend up to 4 hours in an empty house. The driver did call me to say he was on his way even though the caller ID said it was a call from Yosemite NP. read more

I recently bought a new stove from Direct Appliance. An hour after I received it, I turned it on to bake and it made a loud noise similar to a compressor. When I called the salesman, he expressed no concern. Instead, he said, "That's what happens when you buy a low end appliance." Implying that the store sells inferior products and I'm a cheapskate for buying them. I had a repairman come out and yes indeed the fan motor is faulty. I won't be returning to Direct Appliance in the future. I feel no need to deal with condescending salesmen. read more

Excellent experience from the time we walked in to installation of our new washer and dryer. Chad the sales rep was very professional, courteous, and explained all the features of the product. Very fast and free delivery and hookup. The two gentlemen that removed and installed the new washer/dryer were amazing!!! They were so nice, polite, very careful not to ding anything, and took their time to make sure it was done right. Great job! I researched prices online and Direct had the best deal by far. My family purchased an incredible Viking stovetop & food warmer, as well as a dishwasher. To be fair, the guy assisting us was quite friendly and helpful and he never failed to mention how he couldn't provide any kind of discount because of "set supplier prices" or whatnot. Fine, no discount, no big deal, we were fine with that. The reason for this negative review is that the same guy called us today to inform that he made a mistake when filling out our order and needed an additional $2,400 on top of the purchase we had already made! So much for "no price changes, no matter what". Whoever that guy's boss is, has a lot of explaining to do because it's just not normal to say, "Hey, remember that thing you bought a week ago? Well, we're gonna need $2,400 more otherwise we're not selling it to you (despite you literally buying it)." I'm sorry I had to write this review. I would've loved to see our new expensive Viking appliances come in and leave as a happy customer, sadly Direct Appliances managed to screw that up. P.S. Somehow, the dishwasher didn't need an extra thousand dollars to be "officially" purchased, so we've got that going for us. read more

Terrible service. Dishonest will tell you anything to sell a poorly designed product. Manger very unprofessional very rude no help with resolution You are going to this place to get an expert opinion but they have sales people who have no idea about the products they sell. They sold us a returned item just to make the sale. 1 week after installation we called and they turfed us to the manufacturer saying it should work perfectly ! Do not believe these sales reps namely RJ. The manger knew it was a faulty design admitted that it's common knowledge but stated that there is nothing they can do about it. Buy your products online. They delivered a refrigerator in MAY 2021 and the inside pieces were missing. They ordered a new set and I was calling weekly to see if it was in. They would say no but it shows it was shipped. This has been going on for months!! Last week they called saying it was in. I went down there to get the complete set and it was one piece and wasn't even the correct piece for my Make and Model!!! The lady was extremely rude and could care less. I asked if I could have the set on the showroom floor and she said NO!! I'd give zero stars if I could. Wife amd I bought a brand new Frigidaire refrigerator. It immediately, within 6 months of having it, began having problems with freezing everything inside of it. Multiple service calls amd still not fixed. The warranty wore off after a year and I'm still having the problem. Direct appliance told me it was no Longer their problem and I needed to call Frigidaire directly. I bought this from direct appliance. Sol now I'm stuck with a 300 pound paper weight that continues to freeze my food. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's. I had better service through them. This company is a joke amd I'll never come Back. I hesitated using Direct Appliance because of their "pricey" reputation. But, I needed an upright freezer and they were the only LOCAL business that had them in stock. I had tried to get one from a big chain store, but they no showed on my deliver twice - repeatedly lying to me that the freezer was in stock. Vivian at DA was warm, soooo helpful and awesome to work with. She made the whole experience a very pleasant one. I only had to wait 3 days for delivery (I'm sure it would have been less, but the Thanksgiving holiday was that week), and the delivery was quick and seamless. So, buy local and go with Direct Appliance. A+ for me! read more

Best appliance dealer in the area by far! Very thorough sales experience from start to finish.

As others have said, avoid this place like the plague. I tried to be a good boy and support a local small business, not Lowe's or Home Depot. BIG MISTAKE. Was sold a bill of goods, and all I have to show for it is a dishwasher that doesn't work, under the guise of "a great dishwasher." Called in after the service tech came out (who said nothings wrong, it's just a terrible dishwasher). They did not work with me at all to remediate the problem. Terrible customer service, bad experience from start to finish. Installers couldn't even install the thing, had to pay someone else to do it. I'll be making sure my friends and family steer far clear of this place. read more

This one star is not for Direct Appliance sales but for Direct Appliance service. I called them to repair a GE Profile gas range that had suddenly lost power to the digital control panel. After an hour (half of which was on the phone) the tech told me that 3 or 4 components were burned out, including a wiring harness and a fan motor and that the range wasn't repairable as the stove was over 7 years old (it's 8 years old) and the parts were no longer available. The charge was $110. I called another repair person (Volt Repair). He diagnosed the issue as a bad thermostat. He had it on his truck and had the range working in within 45 minutes. When I called Direct Appliance Service back to discuss the $110 charge, I was told nothing could be done and the manager hung up on me. Never call these people for service! To be fair I will probably still buy appliances from Direct Appliance in the future as they have always been the best in Modesto, but I will never use the Direct Appliance service and recommend against anyone else trusting them for a repair. I don't like being lied to. read more

Modesto Appliance has an impressive inventory of appliances; perhaps one of the best in the area. However, the positive nature of this business ends there. Management has a complete disregard for customer service and has zero integrity for what they claim to stand for and provide to those who walk through their doors. I originally purchased three brand new units and two were delivered dented and one was swapped out with on old floor model that I was reassured I would not be getting. Their resolution to this was a $50 credit and argumentative behavior that his team was to be trusted regardless of what I had to say. After tirelessly advocating for myself and what I was experiencing I canceled my order completely and no action was made to correct the problem and instead welcomed with a goodbye and credit. For these reasons, I will never return to this establishment. read more

Direct Appliance - Appliances Near Me - Modesto, California

I remodeled my kitchen and purchased over $7,000 of appliances from direct appliance. An induction stove, a new refrigerator, a double oven, a microwave, and the salesman "RJ" insisted in buying the Frigidaire dishwasher to match the other appliances even though we wanted another brand of dishwasher. From day one, the dishwasher did not work. Service guy came out and fixed it. Within a month, the dishwasher quit again, this time with an error code. They came back out and fixed it again. Since October the service guy had to come out 4 times to fix my dishwasher again and again. Service department advised me to contact my sales guy (RJ) to see if he could help us. He simply told me that he is only sales and has nothing to do with it now. Even though he practically begged us to buy this washer. Then the service department advised me to call Frigidaire directly to resolve the problem, she even gave me the number to call! I called Frigidaire who sent out an Electrolux representative. He didn't work on the dishwasher, he simply looked up the part number that was ordered by Direct Appliance, said it was the wrong part and then ordered the correct part. He told the service person at Direct Appliance that he is sending the part to my house and when it gets here, Direct Appliance is to install it which they agreed. Now two weeks later, the dishwasher quit again. Called Direct Appliance just now and they explain that since the manufacture sent out a guy, it is no longer Direct Appliances' problem and I have to get the manufacture to repair it. I reminded them that they are the ones who advised me to call the manufacturer and now they dumped me because I did. Side note, while trying to repair the washer the last time (two weeks ago) the repairman broke a plastic part on it and now direct Appliance tells me they will "look into fixing that" but not the part that stops the washer from working. This store does not stand by their products or show any concern for customer service. As long as you are spending your money, it's all good but to resolve a problem....good luck! read more
