I think Dion's pizza definitely tastes great - it has a "homemade" charm to it and even has the flour on the bottom (be careful if you have black pants on!) of the pizza. The ingredients are fresh and very good. The only complaints I have is that (1) they don't deliver and (2) they take a bit longer than the other guys, it seems. This location is going downhill fast. Went a few weeks ago, it was decent. Tonight was awful. For starters the place was dirty. Tables and chairs covered in food, overflowing trash, it was gross. We found a clean one. We ordered pizza, cooked light. 20 minutes they said. Ten minutes in the cops were in the lot talking to an employee. This required all remaining employees to stare out the window, point, talk, anything but work. I said to my family we're getting burnt pizza. 30 minutes after we ordered we were called up, to a burnt, black pizza. They "offered" to make a new one, ten minutes. The second pizza was cooked right, after 15 minutes. There didn't seem to be a manager on duty. read more

Well I got a good word-of-mouth that displays was very good. So several of us at my workplace went to have lunch at Dion's pizza I ordered the regular pizza pepperoni cheese and ham. Prices are not bad it was the special for less than eight dollars including soda. My order got called in and I picked it up at the counter along with several other orders that my friends had placed. Pretty nice size slices of pizza and I tasted it and it was much better than any other pizza around here in Lubbock. Very nice consistency very good temperature that the pizza was hot and it was very delicious. So for lesson $10 I had a nice size meal and very tasty. I guess I need to come back some other time and try the other types of pizza that they have to even have calzone and they had Stromboli So this place is highly recommended they have a couple of branches here in Lubbock but the one I did I went to the 82nd St. location. I grew up eating Dion's back in Albuquerque. Now that I live in Amarillo I have to get my fix whenever I travel. Its nice to know that even though they have locations in Lubbock that the quality of food and service are still the same as they were growing up. The food is always delicious. I get the green chile and Pepporoni, always a good stand by. My son has a dairy allergy so we don't really try to get him pizza or anything with cheese but we had heard that Dion's can make a cheese free pizza. He was so excited to get his very own pizza. The manager was very considerate aware of allergies and cross contamination. He didn't make the pizza himself but he watched his staff make it and made sure that it was cheese free. I know that a cheese free pizza sounds weird but my son loved to watch them make his special pizza and he loved eating his pizza. He is going to be a second generation Dion's eater and its good to pass that on. Glad to see that Dion's no matter where you go keep with the quality of food and service that I grew up on. We came here based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. We got the Dion's special. Mushrooms, green chile, sliced red onions, black olives, Italian sausage, ground beef, smoked ham & pepperoni. We deleted the ground beef and ham & had extra sausage & cheese. It was really great. I have had better, but this was still really good. Sauce was good, lots of ingredients & the New Mexico chili was super. As we travel full time in our RV this will be our place for pizza in Lubbock when we come through here. read more

They have gotten so much better from when they first opened in Lubbock. I love the convenience of ordering online and the quick pick up at the drive thru window. The specialty pizzas are delicious but I like ordering by the slice. The cheese pizza with green chile or jalapeños is BOMB! Make sure to order it well done. The cheese toast w/pepperoni is so simple and crunchy it reminds me of home. Now for their salads! You cannot go wrong with whatever salad you prefer. I like the turkey salad w/o dions mix add egg. The dions mix is just to much onion for me but if you like onion go for it. The staff is always cheerful and provide great customer service. I received the wrong order one time and they gave me complimentary cookies for the inconvenience. The best time to order is before 1230 or after 130. I order online and have only ate inside the restaurant once or twice. In town for a campus visit at Texas Tech and we stopped in for lunch based on previous reviews. We ordered 2 medium pizzas and were pleasantly surprised at the size - more like a large than a medium! After posting our bad review from the just horrible experience we had last time, the General Manager Adam Albaugh, sent me a note apologizing for the bad service and food and asked if I would give Dion's another try on him. I did just that a few months later and called him and gave him a heads up that my wife and I were coming by to pick up the same order at the drive thru window. We had the best service when picking up our pizza and salad we were greeting by a young lady who paid us out told us our food wasn't ready to pull forward and they would bring it out. It took about 5 min for different young lady to come tell us our pizza as still being cooked and that it wouldn't take too much longer. She came back out with drinks for us since it was hot outside. Yum. This is just great pizza, awesome dressings for salads. The sandwiches are great. You have to call in your order ahead of time if you want it to be ready when you get there. They started out great, but seem to have forgotten what good service is. The time before last, it was the wrong order, but edible. The next time, cheese bread instead of garlic. But tonite was the last try. Husband gave them my order for a chef sandwich, but what we got didn't qualify as any kind of salad.
