Don't understand why every dion's is packed with cars like every night. They are average sandwiches/salads/and pizza... i dont think anything is really BAD about dions, just not GREAT... ohh.. except one thing... the RANCH dressing. I secretly have people that go there grab extra for me so i have a stash in my fridge.... I think you can also buy a bottle of it for home... it's SO good... but everything else to me is just alright. The pizza reminds me of PapaJohns, their chips are a less superior version of ruffles.... I guess people like it cuz it's pretty cheap and they are familiar with it. I've only lived in ABQ for around 2 and a half years, but it didn't take long to hear all about Dion's. This place makes some great pizza, but it's not only pizza that they do right, and that's a compliment to their menu. This Dion's that I'm reviewing is very close by to where I live (lucky me!) so my wife and I will grab a pizza from here pretty frequently. They have a lot to choose from and of course you can make your own. On this most recent trip we went with The 505, which is pepperoni and of course, New Mexico green chile. The pizza takes about 15-20 minutes but it's worth the wait. Just the right amount of cheese, nice big pepperonis and a heaping of green chile. Something else worth noting, I'm not picky about many things but pizza crust can sometimes turn me off. Not the case here though, Dion's makes a great crust that isn't too hard and has a good amount of flavor to it. As I said, pizza isn't their only speciality and I frequently get one of their salads which lands in the top 5 of best salads ever in my book. And DO NOT go to Dion's without getting their ranch dressing. I don't know what they put in it, but it is something magical that goes so well with any of their pizzas. Ordered $150+ worth of Pizza and Salad for a wedding party. Called it in 4 hours early so they had plenty of time to get it ready. They told me it would be ready when I needed it. Got there 15 mins early just in case. The pizzas came out 20 minutes late, rushed down to deliver the food and found no dressing for the 5 salads. I called the store as I was driving back and asked if they could put them in a bag for me so I could just run in when I got there. I got attitude from the cashier and the manager who insisted on seeing my receipt despite me calling and having left the store 10 mins earlier like I was frantically trying to steal enough Dion's dressing for 5 family salads.... very disappointed and not sure I'll come back to this location again. read more

Worst experience ever! Ordered 4 large pizzas on-line $80.74 with confirmed pick-up time of 11:00Am 11-6-2022. Arrived a few minutes early and was told order was for 12:00noon. Showed Lucian confirmation e-mail on my phone which said 11:00AM. Lucian was rude, said there had been a time change and HE WOULD CANCEL THE ORDER AND I COULD GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION. I told him we had not changed the time on our order. He said I was not listening to him and that there was a time change and alluded to daylight savings time change. Spoke to another manager Mya who yelled at me and when I told her she was yelling at me she replied "YES!" Pizza was for 6 year olds' Birthday party at a venue we only had booked until 12:30PM. Both managers were the least bit concerned about expediting this order which was clearly their error and yelled at me. Don't patronize this Dion's. I will never return. I have contacted the corporate office and am waiting for a call back. read more

Dion's has always been a favorite place for our pizza and salads. Today was exceptional due to a young gentleman that took our order. His name is Justin, and what a conscientious young man. The suggestions he came up with for us were great. The manager here must do a wonderful job on training employees, even though I think Justin is just a natural with the public. read more

I've lived here for a total of 8 years now, and I visit Dion's about 5 times a year. I was first turned on to them by a co-worker of mine when I worked at Verizon Wireless call center. We shared pizza and a big salad. Holy crap, I was hooked! The decor of every Dion's is very nice. Not a 5-star restaurant, but it definitely isn't a Blake's either. It's always clean, the staff is ever friendly and even the restrooms are spot-on. That's saying a lot. I normally harp on a restaurant for their horrible restroom cleanliness. The price of all their food is manageable. I'm not going broke on my peasant-level income if I eat at Dion's, even if I bring my wife (who makes more than I do and should probably be footing the bill, but I'm going off-course here). Can we talk about that Ranch dressing? Oh Em Gee. I wish they sold that stuff at Costco's. That's how good it is. I buy their bottles whenever I can and for the next 3 days put it on everything. It's that good. Other restaurants sell their salsa in local grocery chains, why on Earth can't Dion's sell their dressing in other stores as well? They'd make a killing. As far as the pizza goes, if you're not a fan of their slightly doughy consistency, just ask them to bake it an extra 5 minutes or so. I think Dion's puts addictive drugs in their pizza and ranch dressing. This place is a diet killer. Every. Time. If Dions is served, I just say $!*@ it and throw in the towel. Oh and a salad with perfectly cooked eggs and ratios of veggies to lettuce. Don't even get me started that I can just drown my sandwich and potato chips in Greek dressing. They also are New Mexico bred so they have spicy green Chile too. I have gone to this dions for years. Unfortunately, I feel like it's going down hill. The last 3 out of four orders I've gotten have been wrong. I think they are just too busy and are more about quantity than quality. I recommend eating in, because if you go through the drive thru it has a good chance of being messed up. Let me just add I didn't have a really picky order. It was a cheese pizza and a salad with the croutons on the side. I got a cheese pizza that had green chili in random places and there weren't any croutons on the side. Usually I wouldn't care, but my youngest child will not touch anything spicy. I personally love dions. All around good and consistent food; has the best salad dressings in town. It's a local chain and really popular. Most of the people that work at Dion's are young high school or college age students. I've seen a few retirees as well. Service varies from location to location. The Academy location service is generally good, but this time it took forever to get our food. It was about 2 hours to closing when we walked in and ordered, and I don't know if it was the lack of staff that late or if it was just a bunch of young kids goofing off. read more

Ordered pick up from this location tonight. Upon opening my order I found that the salad, which was a major component of the meal was less than advertised. The Chefs salad had roughly two slices of ham, no hard boiled egg slices, and the rest was iceberg lettuce and a few croutons. I've been going to Dion's for many years and have always been happy with the products until this incident. The salad was a major issue for us as one of our guests has a very specific dietary requirement. After calling the restaurant immediately after discovering the problem I was put on hold and subsequently disconnected. After calling the restaurant again I was able to reach a "manager " that offered me the option of re ordering and driving back to the location to pick up a replacement or waiting until tomorrow to do the same. No option offered to credit my order for the restaurant error. Unfortunately, spending another hour of my time to correct the quality control issues of this location either today or tomorrow is not an appropriate response. read more

Of the past two years that I've been here in Albuquerque, I've never eaten at Dion's. My friends would tell me to go, but I would always pass. I've finally tried it, and I'm okay with it. The cheese pizza slices that I ordered were good to taste, the crust was crispy and the price for the slice was decent as well. Their sweet tea was also good and they offer free refills at the counter. I liked the atmosphere and mentioned to my friends that this place would be great for a date, because the mood lighting was great, and the background music wasn't overpowering where one could not hear another. The staff members were very friendly and looked as if they all get along well with each other. Because one could hear their laughs and their joking around, which I found comforting. I'll be back next time I'm craving a cheese pizza slice, and I'll be sure to try out the mood lighting with a date, next time. =) read more

Dions is one of my favorite places to go for pizza. We usually order take out, but of the times we have dined in, the restaurant is always clean and has a family friendly atmosphere. Our favorites are the pepperoni with green chile pizza (dipped in ranch dressing of course), the roast beef sandwich and the gourmet chicken salad. I was reluctant to try the salads at first bc I am super picky when it comes to chicken and the quality looked questionable, but I order the salad every time we have Dions and can only recall getting a piece of gristle on one occasion. I love Dion's with all my heart! I go there weekly for salads. Where else can you get a fresh quality salad with the best dressing (Greek and Ranch combo) for such a reasonable price? The drive-thru service at this Dion's is horrible! The last 3 orders we've called in were wrong. Well, wrong isn't quite right for 2 of them. Those 2 they never even made. Just today my husband waited in line for 15 minutes just to be told they didn't have it. So he came home and I called Pizza 9 and had it delivered. Won't be calling Dion's again.....ever! read more

People are dissing they're amazing pizza on here, and that's their opinion. But dions truly is the best sandwich, pizza, and salad place in New Mexico. Me and my family love it here, and it's such a great Atmosphere, and the Greek dressing here is better than any other place in the world. This is not an over statement in the slightest. I'm writing this review based on an experience I had here that really scared me. My boyfriend loves green chili but I'm allergic to them so we got the "special" with half green chili no onions and half no green chili and no olives. We both emphasized NO green chili on the half with no olives and she swore up and down that she got it. The pizza was finally ready after 30 minutes and I was so hungry that I just bit into a slice from my half only to realize as soon as I swallowed the first bite that there was green chili ALL over and chopped up all in the ingredients on my side. Skipping the disgusting details, I automatically was sick/nauseous/queezy and could barely breathe my throat was swollen. My boyfriend complained to management and told them what happened and all they cared about was getting us another pizza... not my safety or the fact that they just royally fucked up an order that was actually life threatening, no just that they would make another pizza to go, thinking this was the only way to fix their wrong. This was of course expected of them but even that was wrong and they gave the Carnivore pizza instead of what we originally ordered. On top of that, the manager had the audacity to tell my boyfriend "oh that's so weird though green chili is all over New Mexico!" Like um, WHAT? If someone tells you not to put an ingredient in an order, it isn't just about preference, in my case it was a food allergy. How on earth can a restaurant be so oblivious and careless about something as serious as food allergies? May be time to hire actual adults to run this place as opposed to a bunch of high school kids. I ran out to get allergy meds and the manager suggested we fill out an incident report and be taken to the hospital. Clearly I'm in a state of panic and shock, the last thing I'm going to do is sit there and fill out a form. It was such a mess, ruined the rest of my Sunday and put me out for hours on my one day off out of the week. I'll never be back to this location again. read more
