But let me tell you, the first guy took 45 min, second guy was 75 min in and still going by the time I left. The first barber (light-skinned latino) took 45 min, worked hard and did an excellent job on an older man. Honestly, while I waited and saw him work, I wanted my cut with him. Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.

After checking them out online and on Instagram I called and made an appointment with Mario. There is plenty of metered street parking in the area. Some in front of the building that the shop is in and there's also a metered lot to the right of the building. Finos is located on the second floor of the building. Theres a door leading to the stairs located next to Franks Burgers. Go up the stairs and turn left once you reach the top. The vibe in the shop is very laid back. There was music playing at a reasonable level and the whole shop is well lit. Mario is really cool and he offered me a complimentary beverage (soda or beer). I opted for a soda since I drove myself. Now on to the cut and overall experience. Mario took time consulting with me to figure out the best cut for me. I shared what I had in mind down to the guides I preferred and how close I wanted thebcut to be. Once he got started with the cut we had a really cool conversation about everything from sports to family to travel, etc. Throughout the entire conversation Mario was cutting and detailing to make sure everything was perfect. When he was done I was extremely happy! This is easily the best haircut I've had in years at a barbershop! The price was fair, only $60 for a haircut and beard trim. I actually had him do a fade on my beard too. It's a new look for me, but I like the end result. Mario earned a new client and I look forward to coming back in 2 weeks for my next cut.

Great barber's shop. Barbers seem very nice and friendly. They all can do a pretty decent job in here. However, If you're new in the area, I'd strongly recommend you to go see Calvin. He's been recently cutting my hair for almost 5 yrs now. He's very knowledgeable and well experienced. Trust me. I've been to many barbers, tried different hairstyles, and plus I used to be in the hair business; therefore, I know how to look at the haircuts. I'm recommending Calvin not base on his reputation, but base on what I see from a barber's point of view myself. Most barbers can only cut good with a certain kind of haircuts. For example, if they can do good fades, then they're not good with scissors; or If they're good with scissors, then they can't do shapeups or fades; or good with long hair, then suck with short hair or flattops...vice versa...ect. In fact, many people don't know their barbers well enough. They only assume their barber is the best just because he/she has been giving them "the right" haircut or cutting "the way they want it" for so many years. Well, not really, the best barbers are determined by their skills, experience, knowledge, and how well they can handle different kind/type of haircuts/hair. Just because your barber knows your hair and cuts it right doesn't make him/her the best. The right haircut IS NOT exactly a good haircut, but IT IS just the way that you want your hair to be cut. Your barber might be the best on your hair, but he might be the worse on someone's hair. Yet, Calvin is the only barber who I've known has the abilities to cut good with all kind of haircuts. He cuts better than all of the barbers I know. He's really good with all kind of fades, scissors, regulars, flattops, layers, shapeups...ect. He can cut all types of hair whelther you're Black, White, Spanish, or Asian. He's very popular as a barber, not just with his clientails at Dino's, but around other barbershops in the area as well. Calvin has quick hands, yet he's very detailed. He has unique techniques. He can cut with scissors using both hands..AMAZING. Calvin's definitely worth a try for those who are new in the area or looking for a new look. He seems always busy, specially toward the weekend, so call him up ahead for an appointment. He might or might not get it the very 1st time, but once he gets to know your hair, you'll be glad HE IS your barber. read more

Dino's barbershop is the best barbershop here in maryland. One person I recommend is Calvin. Calvin is the most efficient, very detailed about his work, perfectionist barber ive ever met. He loves to cut hair and also knows alot of sense on what type of hair styles for men and women and would even recommend what would be a better "suit" for your hair. Never gives a "half ass" job, but always leaves his customers satified. If you don't believe me, come and experience for yourself at dino's barbershop in Aspen hill shopping center. Calvin is also one of nicest guys I've ever met on a personal note. He's not only your barber, but he's a good friend. Very professional and understands what type of hairstyle or hair cut you want. I say that with confidence because I am very picky with my haircuts. Everybody needs to go to Calvin, if you love art, you will see it through his work. I am in the Army and I wish I could take him to Korea with me.. That's how much of a good barber he is. 100% satisfaction guaranteed. read more

When I moved to the area 8 years ago, I had been searching the area for a barber shop that I could count on. I came across Dino's because I had been running some errands in the same shopping center. When I walked in, I was greeted by a lively staff of barbers. Not knowing what to expect or which barber to select, I went to Calvin's chair. The rest was history. Calvin has been cutting my hair ever since. Calvin has been very professional to work with, and he always knows how to give me the look I want. He is very organized with his appointments, and puts extra care into every client he works with. For anybody in the area, or moving to the area, I would Definitely recommend Dino's and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Calvin. read more

Instead of taking care of this prior to traveling, I chose to do a quick search on Yelp and this was the closest and highest rated in the option in the area. I am supremely happy to report that it was the right choice. In short, Dan is the man. The barbershop is located in what almost looks like an apartment complex and may not be easy to find especially for newcomers. The place has a divey feel but a retro one as well. The moment I step into the shop, it feels like time froze and we're back in the 80s. There is parking in a small lot behind the building. There is no pretense here and if one comes during peak hours during the day, there might even be a wait. Aside from Mr. Dan, there are usually two other ladies working here. I believe one is a stylist and the other handles the other things like hair wash, shampoo'ing, etc. They're all Vietnamese and incredibly friendly. I was at ease the whole time and they even had some TV playing in the background. Mr. Dan took his time and made sure I had the hair style I wanted. He was precise with his cuts, making good conversation all along the way. Every patron that came in after me he greeted; many by first name. After finishing up with my haircut, I left him a decent tip on top of the regular price (which was $16) and he was very pleased. I know for a fact that I lived in the area I'd probably be a regular myself. I would always consider calling ahead of time but I probably wouldn't mind a small wait. I wouldn't be surprised if he greeted me on a first name basis by my next visit.
