Henry did a great job on my older son's hair that my youngest decided he wanted the same cut a week later! Can't beat the price here, especially for the time put into each haircut. I've been following GBH for awhile as my son began approaching his 2nd birthday. Our sons first cut was done by another barber who became unresponsive to scheduling appointments. I remembered I followed the on IG. We visited GBH for our son who LOATHES haircuts and has some sensory processing needs. First, the atmosphere is superb. The shop is clean, ambient music, not too much traffic (I assume due to COVID they do one in one out). The owner, was incredibly understanding and patient as we had to employ several different techniques to keep our son calm. He was friendly and also incredibly reassuring to us as parents because we felt bad that it took a lot to get our son settled. I'm very particular about who does my hair and I have found a great crew. I always leave looking better than when I came. The Master Barber is Mr. Haye. Sai "Precision" Perryman is the Cosmo Barber. "B" the apprentice is only that in name. I have been coming here for over a year now and I have traveled as far 1.5 hours to get here because the experience is great and the service is phenomenal. The salon is always clean and they sweep after every client. It's a clam restorative vibe with friendly banter for conversation. Mr Haye has been cutting my son's hair for about a year. He's professional, knowledgeable and punctual, which is what I like the most. We never left with any disappointments and he continues to keep us satisfied ! I would surely recommend him and anyone in the shop! Mr. Haye asked when would I let Saicha twist my natural hair so I decided to giver her a try. I've always worn my natural hair in a pretty basic style. I asked Saicha for two strand twist but was unsure of a style. She came up with an idea and I let her do her thing! After finding her on Instagram, I had a great first appointment today with Saicha. I was very pleased with the haircut and beard trim. She took her time and was very easy to talk to. She made sure to understand exactly what I wanted with the shape of the beard before going to work on it which I really appreciated since the last place I went set me back several months. Groomed by Haye is definately a cut above the rest(no pun intended) the crew here is knowledgeable, easy going, down-to-earth, and make you feel at home. I saw Saicha (whom they call "blade master") today and I left with a smile and my hair feeling blessed by someone who actually cares about the health of my hair. I have locs and went in for a "simple"retwist and I will say it was the best experience in a shop I've ever had. Saicha took her time and explained her process. She made sure I was comfortable and was very attentive to me. I highly recommend saicha for loc retwists but she is so versatile as well and very reasonably priced for the care and attention she gives! The shop itself is located in the heart of Gaithersburg, they play smooth jazz, and when I was waiting and while I was getting my hair done I was offered chips and a drink! Who does this!!! I came across this place, as a recommendation from Reddit. I was able to make an appointment the same day with Lex (via their website), and it was a pleasant experience from the minute I walked in. Lex and the owner Orville welcomed me as I came through the door, and it was great conversation from the beginning. Even offering me a drink. Lex was able to get me in right away, and he did an excellent job on my hair. He asked me lots of questions, and really helped guide me in the right direction. I was happy, because I was looking for a new place just like this, close to my house. The place has a really cool vibe too, reminds you of a modern style barber shop, plus the prices are reasonable. I'd give them extra stars if I could. I used to be one of those classic guys that didn't care where they got their hair cut. I'd just go to any barber shop nearby every few weeks, never really coming out totally satisfied afterwards but never really upset because it was cheap and "it's just hair, it'll grow back". But after seeing a coworker CONSISTENTLY come in with perfect fades and beard work, I asked where he got his hair cut and he mentioned Lex's name. So I made an appointment at Groomed and after just one time I knew I had found my spot. I've only been cut by Lex and the dude is personable, knowledgeable about different styles, makes great recommendations, and has skills beyond his years because he's constantly learning and training. But I've been there and watched Sai and Haye work too and it's clear the whole group is extremely talented, serious about their craft, and I would feel comfortable booking with either of them too. The group posts a lot of their work on ig and it's perfect cuts every time. And on top of that they all make the environment super comfortable, chill, and inviting. When I first went I lived locally, but have since moved about 45 minutes away and still make the trip because it's that worth it. Orville Haye and his team are tucked away in a Gaithersburg side street, but it's well worth your time to find him. I had to get my beard completely trimmed and reshaped for a job interview, and Orville didn't let me down. He takes things step by step, checks for input, doesn't rush, and clearly knows what he's doing around a beard (one need only look at his own impressive beard!) Highly recommended. I went to the shop for the first time on 11/29. I went on Orville's IG page to see his work. I'm bald but have a beard so I've been looking for someone that can do exactly what I asked for. Orville is a very down to earth person upon meeting him. He listened to exactly how I wanted my beard. My beard looked great!!! I got lots of compliments on social media. My wife loved it as well!! Great Barber....Best one i've had. He can cut any type of hair. For my hair i need it a shaped up but need it faded because of my hair texture because I have straight hair. I can't go to those Asian barber shops or the hair cuttery because they cant give you a shape up or if they try mess your hairline up. I cant go to a black barber because they can't cut my hair type and cant fade me right and cant use scissors but they can give me shape up.Orville can do both. A lot of barbers can't use scissors and he can use those and clippers. He also uses a straight razor to clean you up. Really polite and respectful and listens to every detail you ask him for your cut. read more
