Came here for a date night and sat on the patio. The atmosphere is nice, aside from the occasional loud car passing by since its near Guadalupe. There is also a parking lot for restaurant guests past Casa Chimayo which we had to search for in the beginning. Food: We got two Rib Eye Steaks, a coke, truffle risotto appetizer, and a Prosecco glass. The cocktails look fun but seemed a bit pricey to me. Wanted to try the Caesar salad table-side, but they do not offer that on the patio. The Risotto was amazing! Ribeye was good, but the sides that come with it were not very. The onion rings were bland and the vegetables were soggy and salty... i usually love onion rings but I couldn't finish those. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not the fastest service but we were fine sitting and waiting. Lastly, my partner was unpleasantly surprised that theres an automatic 20% gratuity. I mean, all service workers deserve their tips of course, but we didn't expect it to be added automatically. Not sure we'd come back here? I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant tonight. We brought our ten year old daughter and asked our waiter Zack if there were any off menu items for children. Although, there were not, I told Zack her and I would share the fajitas. When they arrived, the entire table was shocked at how small the portion size was. Many of them insisting that it must be an appetizer. I called Zack over who confirmed that this was in fact their entree portion. There was less than 1/4 of a chicken breast cut into small overcooked slices. I gave the food to my daughter and didn't eat. I looked forward to this meal all day that I skipped eating until then. We are not concerned with money. We would have gladly purchased two meals. I was extremely disappointed in Zack and his failure to tell us that our meal was barely enough for one much less two people. read more

This place is amazing and we will be back. Lots of locals interacting with the business owner and the waiter shared he is a great employer. We had the table side Caesar salad, veal piccata, table side bananas foster and it was all top notch. It was just as great, if not better, than our Geronimo date the previous night. Made a last minute reservation yesterday to get in for dinner. The staff was very friendly and we were seated right on time. We opted for crab cakes, table side Caesar salad and the chateaubriand along with a couple glasses of wine. I was a little disappointed that everything except the tenderloin was under seasoned. The crab cakes, the Caesar, the vegetables.. everything needed a bit of salt. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked and had delicious flavor. For this price point though, I would expect a bit more all the way around. Now seeing another review about automatic gratuity being added, I wish I had liked closer at the bill. Waitstaff absolutely earn their money but if gratuity was already included, I spent far too much after adding a generous extra tip. We had a reservation for the bar for New Year's Eve. From the looks of it, this is a place locals frequent. We met the owner as well as the chef and they were mingling with everyone & everyone knew them by name! They had a set menu, $109 per person which includes 3 courses. (Definitely a place for a special occasion, anniversary, date night etc) The staff's service was AMAZING, probably the best service we received in all New Mexico not just from our server and the bartender but you can tell everyone genuinely likes working there. The food was wonderful as well. If you sit at the bar you get to see all the action going in the kitchen. It was truly the highlight of our trip. read more

My family and I went to happy hour at Dinner For Two yesterday evening. The cocktails were imaginative and yummy. I live in Santa Fe and for quality of food and price this restaurant has no equal.. The happy hour runs from four till six with a wide variety of tasty small plates for $10 each. The restaurant is a popular place for birthdays and anniversaries. We really enjoyed dinner here. We went for a birthday and they did not dissapoint. The table side Caesar was good but the croutons were the real superstar of the dish - freshly made, crunchy, warm and deliciously seasoned. We got their Strip steak and mussels and both were very good, however the steak didn't come with Worcestershire or blue cheese as listed on the menu. For dessert we got the table side bananas foster and it was amazing. Definitely would recommend as a fancy dinner spot. read more

This restaurant deserves ten stars because EVERYTHING was amazing. It's located near downtown, has plenty of parking, and has inside and outdoor dining. We were greeted warmly by the manager and seated at a quiet, corner table/booth even though we didn't have a reservation. They have white tablecloths, fresh roses and candles at every table. Immediately our server Clayton brought water and menus. He was the nicest waiter I've ever met. He had good recommendations and was very attentive. They have an awesome happy hour menu with sampler sizes of their best items for great prices. We ordered butternut squash soup with sage foam, oyster mushroom truffle bisque, coconut shrimp, lobster fish and shoestring fries, beef tips with green chili queso, mushroom risotto, mussels in tomato broth, and chocolate fudge cake. We ate every single bite and wanted to lick the plates. The food was that delicious!! The manager and several other servers stopped to ask how we were doing. We felt like celebrity locals even though this was our first time in Santa Fe. It was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Woooowww! Stopped here on a recommendation from a local, and I have to say this was an awesome culinary and libation experience! We came in on a Saturday and they were having happy hour from 4-6. During this time you get smaller potions of their entrees for about half the price. These are not your average apps, the food is inventive and delicious at every turn. Here's what we tried; smoked steak nachos- great steak with tasty queso sauce! Beef tips with green Chile queso- beef tips were so tender they buckled my knees Coconut shrimp- pretty good but on the smaller side Pork fusion slider- it's a pulled pork slider with a creamy slaw, tasty! Shrimp Scampi fettuccine- you gotta try it! We have been to Dinner for Two countless times but the last two experiences were enough for us that we will NEVER go there again. First off we had our REHEARSAL DINNER there last year for 15 people and I made the reservation months in advance. The reservation was noted and confirmed in my Open Table account. However come our rehearsal dinner time, there was NO RESERVATION TO BE FOUND! They told our entire rehearsal dinner party that we were going to have to wait an hour and a half to be seated. We were all very upset and the owner Andy Barnes whom I made the reservation with on the phone did nothing to accommodate to HIS mistake. It took over 3 hours to get our food which was fine at best. Nothing like our previous times and certainly not good enough for a rehearsal dinner. ONE YEAR later for our ANNIVERSARY, we decided to have our dinner at Dinner for Two to give them a second chance because the food had been great in the past. Made the reservation and yet again it was another wait. While, we were waiting we were sitting next to the kitchen and watched the table side Caesar cart be brought back and... TWO EMPLOYEES STARTED EATING OUT OF THE SERVING BOWL WITH THEIR HANDS AND LICKING THEIR FINGERS OVER THE ICE MACHINE. THEY DIDN'T WASH THEIR HANDS AND THEN STARTED SCOOPING OUT ICE WITH THEIR HANDS INTO WATER GLASSES. THEY STILL HAVEN'T WASHED THEIR HANDS, AND THEN PROCEEDED TO PICK UP DINNER PLATES AND SERVE THEM. IT WAS THE MOST DISGUSTING THING TO HAVE WATCHED AND WE LEFT IMMEDIATELY. DINNER FOR TWO IS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING AND DISGUSTING. We came for Valentine's Day & it was our very first time here. It was definitely a memorable one! We made reservations a while back, which I always recommend making, being that you never know how busy a place may be on any particular night. Parking for the restaurant is located just down the street & not too far of a walk. When we arrived we were seated almost immediately & were given a fresh rose to celebrate the occasion. The dining room is big & the tables are seated next to each other. I thought I would have an issue with this seating arrangement but it was not bad at all. We had some small talk with our fellow diners about the different drinks we had. The drinks were definitely one of the highlights! We ordered the Damé tu leche/Chingon Margarita/The Brute Force & La Llorona Tears. All were very good & came with their own personality and style. We also ordered the Table Side Caesar, a nice show and it was interesting to see the salad freshly made in front of you including the croutons. The waiter was very nice & asked how much of particular ingredients we wanted over all in our salad. I must say it was the best Caesar Salad I've had. For our entree, I had the New York Strip & my significant other had the Seafood Sampler. Both were excellent choices & cooked to perfection. It was the perfect portion, we had enough room to ask for dessert. They have quite a nice selection of choices, all freshly made. We chose the Tres Leches Cake. It was over the moon! I was very much satisfied with our service, food & drinks. I definitely recommend this place for a nice night out whether you're in town for a night or two; or just to have a nice night out in general. First, don't let the name throw you off, they do have tables for more than two. On the other hand, it is the perfect place for an intimate dinner. We had reservations for my birthday last night . We were greeted promptly and cheerfully. Our table was ready on arrival. We were greeted by our waiter with water provided. Then he just stood there. We ordered drinks that took over 20 minutes to get. He came back at one point, without our drinks, and asked if we were ready to order. We said we still needed a minute. We wanted to have our drink first. He said the bartender was very busy. We eventually received them and ordered. Our appetizer was brought by someone else. We finished it and our waiter cleared the plate. Entrees were brought by someone else. We did not see our waiter again until 10 minutes after we finished eating. He did not come to see if our food was okay. We were never offered or had an opportunity to have anything else to drink. We learned from overhearing him talk to another table that there had been dinner specials. It took another 15 minutes to get the check. As we left, he was sitting at the bar with the hostess. No one was at the door. The food was fine. Not great. The ambiance was okay. The other birthday in the restaurant acknowledged by staff. Ours only by the hostess. It could have been a good experience but was very disappointing. This was the worst service we had during our week in Sante Fe. There are other much better options. read more

The server never made this Caesar salad before and had another server guide her thru it. Why on earth would the restaurant manager not have the server "practice" making this salad for two in the back of the house before using us as the test patrons? Not very professional. We have been to Dinner for Two at least 6 times. This past Thursday, Jan 16th , we went to celebrate a friend's birthday at 5pm. There were 6 of us and we had reservations. The restaurant wasn't very busy so we thought that would be great. We had the worst service ever. We were delivered pre- dinner drinks then our meals and never saw anyone again. We couldn't flag anyone over. We never were offered more water or more wine or refilled a person's tea. Everyone ran out of drinks. I split a dinner plate and had to find a used plate to share with. We were never offered desert. We finally had to go find our waiter who was just chatting with another waiter. We went to the bar for more water. We were all so very disappointed. The food was ok, but we always attribute the higher prices to food and especially service. When you get horrible service you don't want to go back again. We may try it one more time, but the waiter was a seasoned waiter as we have seen him there before numerous times. We are all VERY disappointed. read more

The table side Caesar salad for two takes at least 30" because they only have one cart to do this theatrical feat. It was good, raw egg, fresh olive oil, squeeze of lemon, parm cheese and toss with black pepper, was delicious. I had two appetizers for my meal, the pumpkin ravioli was crispy and the truffle sauce was delicious. Salmon salad was fresh and salmon cooked to perfection. Truffle mushroom soup was delicious.
