Ambiance was beautiful and the foot was nothing short of spectacular! We had the elk steak and it was to die for. Service was impeccable and everyone was super friendly and accommodating.

BEWARE!!! Deceitful Billing - Hidden Gratuity - Read Your Itemized Receipt CAREFULLY The food was good, the service was reasonably good, the setting was nice. The big problem? They applied a 20% gratuity to the check, which in and of itself I don't have a problem with. However, the server brought out the credit card receipt with the line for the tip as if there was no gratuity added and said nothing. So, if you are not very mindful, you can end up paying the 20% gratuity they impose and then an additional gratuity on the meal and the gratuity you've already paid. At a minimum, they should warn customers when they bring the credit card receipt, that a 20% gratuity (plus the GRT on that gratuity) has already been paid by the customer. If you decide to go here, read the itemized receipt carefully so you tip the amount you actually intend.

They only get one star because 0 isn't an option. Allowing for reservations that they have no intention of honoring.

Today, politicians and government staff dined around us in the bar, chatting away about local issues. We made a reservation though it wasn't entirely necessary with the bar 80% full. Friendly attentive service was experienced by everyone there. We were first-timers but felt welcome. The dark wood and green furniture seemed suited. A pleasant place for lunch. Ordered soup (creamy green chile), a wedge salad, and the Tuesday special meatloaf that came with mash potatoes, steamed veggies, the most wonderful dark gravy, and warm bread. It was all great! The star of the show was actually the gravy, so full of flavor. The wedge was fresh and crisp with maybe a couple too many ingredients for my taste. The soup was "creamy" by title but not as creamy as I expected, and that's actually good. Wonderful flavor. The potatoes were really good too. Portions. Price. Everything met or exceeded expectations. We will certainly be back, probably for lunch again. One last thing: we had a couple leftovers and, I'm surprised I'm saying this, but it was packed up extraordinarily well. Meatloaf in one carton, potatoes in another, a small cup of extra gravy in a separate container. I mean who does that? So considerate. Great attention to detail. Highly recommended. Next time I'm going to save some room for dessert, for sure.

One of my clients loves the Bullring, and that is OK with me. It ensures i am able to enjoy the ambiance at least once a year. The service is very good. The food quality is also very good. So, why four stars instead of five? I blame that on the Pittsburgh Sear... a fun request that traps in the juices and results in a serving of amazing goodness. It is difficult. I am not sure if my order was misinterpreted or not relayed but the filet, which was delicious, lacked the sear ‍ I will try again on a future visit... maybe this time next year?

You can tell they take a lot of pride in their steaks. The sides were just as impressive. The asparagus was fresh and perfectly prepared, and the mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Everything on the plate felt high quality and thoughtfully done. The atmosphere had that classic steakhouse feel and the service was great throughout the meal. If you're in Santa Fe and want an amazing steak dinner, Rio Chama is definitely worth the visit.

A Christmas Letter to the Owner of Rio Chama:…read more Dear Owner, Merry Christmas! Thank you for providing the worst Christmas Eve dinner my family has ever experienced. I'll get right to the point so the rest of our night is no longer wasted by your horrible restaurant. First of all, the gap between giving us water and asking what drinks we'd like was at least 20 mins. The gap between ordering drinks and receiving them was at least 25 minutes. That's over a 45 minute wait!! Not to mention, when my stepfather asked about the Manhattan, the server said she didn't know anything about it. (We'd soon find out your "chefs" don't know anything about cooking). While we're on the subject of servers, we had four of them. Not sure if one was supposed to be a primary server or if we were deliberately given a rotating cast of uncaring people off the street who had the demeanor of someone about to receive a colonoscopy. Hey Owner- maybe when charging 4 people $360 for 4 bloody slabs of unseasoned meat (despite 3 people requesting medium-well), the least you could do is provide ONE server. Also- we noticed you raised your prices an extra $25 per plate for your Christmas meal. Thanks. I won't feel bad at all when you close your doors permanently. My family deserved better. The city of Santa Fe deserves better. You deserve bankruptcy. Seasons Greetings, Our Extremely Disappointed Family PS The au jus sauce had no flavor whatsoever. Why even include it? PSS Are your mashed potatoes served cold year round or was this exclusive to the Christmas menu? PSSS Happy new year!

This was an EXCEPTIONAL dining experience!…read more Service exemplary. I sat at the bar and got to watch the kitchen cook and they were true craftsmen and professionals. I started with what I thought was going to be a plain Caesar salad, but when it arrived, it was served like a sushi or lettuce wrap. It was very creative and tasty! It made it much more fun to eat than the average salad. It was rich and topped with anchovies, like a true Caesar salad. I then had the peppercorn Elk tenderloin. I asked it be served as the chef recommended, which is medium rare. I am sometimes wary of medium rare, but this tenderloin was DIVINE! It was so moist and bursting with flavor. I loved it. The cocktails were creative and just as enjoyable as the meal. Other options for dinner apps include: cornbread, ahi crudo, mussels, and bison carpaccio. Mains: scallops, pan roasted Branzino, toasted masa gnocchi, grilled Maine lobster tails, duck leg confit, and a pecan coffee rubbed prime flat iron. I'm sure all of them would be amazing. Reservations recommended. Please note that the rooftop bar does not take reservations and is not on the same system as the restaurant. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.

It's a perfect place for a group of friends who are drinking and laughing, and in general having a good time. If I was by myself, I would have given the place 5 stars, but the food was not a hit with everyone in our group. Starting with what was good, the cornbread was delicious. The Tuna Crudo, Caesar Salad and Branzino, which is what I ordered were all delicious and I would order again. The Mac n' Cheese was so decadent, and one of the best sides I have ever had. The not so great - the lobster was a bit overcooked and over done shellfish is never good, and the masa gnocchi was a bit dense and dry. This is a place where knowing what to order off the menu is key as not all dishes were spectacular. As a result of this dinner, our friend in Santa Fe has crossed it off the list for another large party dinner she is coordinating. However, I would happily return.
