However, I'm not a wine drinker, so it didn't really feel like a good deal for me. I would've rathered they include the apron instead. The class runs from 6-9pm, which was a little on the later side for me to really want to eat, but I guess when you're running a class on a weekday, you have to accommodate work end times. Class is in a conveniently located Grant Macewan building, and it includes parking in the campus parkade across the street. The classroom is very nice. There's a large family style table and then the kitchen area. The set up of the class itself is a little awkward. We sat around the kitchen prep area, which would've benefited from some mirrors so we can see what the instructor was doing. They do have cameras behind the instructor, but then the TV screens are located behind you, which really doesn't help much at all unless you keep turning around to look at it. The instructor did encourage students to come around and watch, but after a long day at work, sitting and watching is more preferable.. The instructor was good, very informative. The other kitchen staff were nice as well. It was a fun experience, and they offer a variety of classes, it's just the price point is a little on the higher side compared to other cooking classes offered in the city. Take out boxes are provided if you have leftovers or want to share what you've made. Recipes from the class are also provided.

The space inside was nice and much bigger than it looked outside. There were a few diners when we got there, but still plenty of seating. We were seated, given the menus, and water (including a jug for the table, which I appreciated). The server told us that when we're ready to order to press the button on the side of the table. I love when restaurants do that. I ordered the Hanip to drink, which is a seasonal tea beverage, a non alcoholic type cocktail. I got the Japchae, which is a bowl of Japchae (glass noodles), beef bulgogi, spinach, carrots, onions with a shitake soy dressing. My friend got a coke and the Donkas, a breaded pork cutlet with a cabbage slaw. It also came with ketchup and bbq sauce on the side. Our food came out very fast; I don't think we waited more than 8 minutes, but our drinks hadn't arrived and the server said they'd be on the way. With our meals they brought out a small side of vegetables that included kimchi, bean spouts, radish (may have been daikon) with this delicious sauce, and mashed potatoes, plus a side of steamed rice. I'm not sure if the veggies and rice were for my meal or my friend's or for the table, but we both enjoyed it. I really liked the radish dish. Our meals were also delicious. My friend's pork cutlet was massive and she said it was really good. I loved the Japchae, it was savoury and comforting. I had been debating about ordering one of the full vegetable dishes like the eggplant or cucumber salad, but the serving sizes are decent and I wasn't hungry. The downside was they forgot about our drinks. I kept waiting and finally partway through our meal I pressed the button and asked about our drinks, and they had completely forgotten. The server (a different one from before) apologized. My friend's coke came out right after that and my drink took a few minutes to make. I do understand things get missed (I've worked in restaurants before), but it also wasn't very busy. So I can't give Hanjan 5-stars because of this but it was still a really meal. Both my friend and I said we'd go back again.

They would stop by frequently to clear finished plates. The food, itself, was quite good. The meat was fresh and some were nicely seasoned. The steamed egg dish was fluffy and went well with rice. We picked the soybean paste soup with tofu, beef brisket and veggies. I enjoyed the saltiness of the soup with rice as well. The dumplings were super crispy and were deep fried perfection. Ambiance was lively as the restaurant was busy. Restaurant was clean including the restrooms. There was plenty of free parking on the plaza. My only complaint is the price of the dumplings. I am too used to Lower Mainland prices that there was a sticker shock at $18.95. Maybe this is the normal in Edmonton?

And we also came with a very large group. Honestly they had all the reason to kick us out, but the staff took care of us regardless. Since we were late we just picked the soup broth and 5 add-on's. I got the Herb and Lamb broth. It was delicious, savory, and hearty. And for the add-on's, I picked the sliced Beef Sirloin, Enoki Mushroom, Napa Cabbage, Fried Tofu and Flat Rice Noodles. They didn't have Fried Tofu so I asked to substitute for Fried Bean Curd instead. Looking back at this now, I'm glad (and I'm sure the kitchen was too) that we only picked 5 things. We love kbbq but it's very expensive here in Edmonton, and there are only two in the city. It's located in an inconspicuous (weird if you ask me) spot, in a neighbourhood in front of a school. Parking wasn't that difficult to get. Upon arriving we waited 10 minutes for our reservation and we got seated. The vibe and atmosphere of this place is very family-run-authentic. The meats are served buffet style and you grab your own drinks from the soda fountain. Sides of lettuce, salad (my personal fave- amazing vinaigrette to cut the meat), kimchi, bean sprouts, etc. There were also a few variety of fried items. My favorite was the shrimp chips. They also have fried rice but no white rice. Which leads me to my next point-- Service: AMAZING!! One of the older ladies saw my boyfriend and I mixing our fried rice and kimchi to make kimchi fried rice. She asked if we wanted some sesame oil and seaweed to put into our fried rice to make it more bokkeum-bap!! She came back with a bottle of sesame oil and mixed it in for us. The only downsides: They put a piece of parchment paper over the grill which kind of absorbs all the juice. The selection of meat is very limited as well. For 2 people not including our alcohol, it came to about $75 for AYCE. Not too bad considering it's the only other kbbq place in town. Will definitely be regulars!

Named as Favourite Handheld on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list, I had to make the drive up to St. Albert to check them out for myself! Located in a strip mall type of shopping area in the heart of St. Albert by the river you'll find Tealicious Blend's storefront. The outside signage advertises bubble tea, Korean egg sandwiches, wings, salads, and more. Stepping inside of the restaurant space on my Saturday evening visit I was greeted with a cheerful atmosphere straight out of any K-pop lover's dreams! (They were quite literally playing 'Golden' from KPop Demon Hunters as I walked in.) Faux cherry blossom branches decorate the space while bright lime green benches serve as seating. There's even a claw machine filled with plush versions of bubble tea that customers can challenge themselves to win (and people were continuously attempting to do so!). Everything about Tealicious Blend is upbeat and you can't help but feel the joyful and lighthearted vibes for the duration of your visit. The menu centers around two main items: Bubble Tea and Korean Egg Sandwiches. There's a small handful of other food offerings; including a bowl of tonkotsu ramen specially for "cold season" and even some hamburgers. However, most customers likely come in to try the popular Korean sandwiches. Tealicious Blend also has three different combos to choose from if you really want to build a meal out of your visit. I started my journey with a bubble tea - which sounds simple but with so many flavours to select from it always takes me way too long to make a decision. Milk tea is always a solid option and they're also serving the ever-trendy brown sugar type of bubble tea that is all the rage these days. In the end I found myself landing on the Taro Cheesecake ($8.50 for large) from the Cheesecake Series Milk Tea part of the menu. This drink is also on the "Best Sellers" list, which made it seem like a safe bet. As is standard in most bubble tea establishments, you are welcome to specify your preferred sugar level. For me, I always just want to enjoy my beverage as intended. I think that I also just really wanted something cute and purple to sip on if I'm being honest!! Taro milk tea was mixed with swirls of whipped "cheesecake" and the bottom of the cup was filled with chewy tapioca pearls. This bubble tea was very good and almost impossible to stop sipping (until there was none left). Taro, a tropical root vegetable, is known for its distinct purple hue and nutty vanilla-like flavour. Mixed with the sweet and tangy taste of the cheesecake, this bubble tea flavour could not go wrong! Next time I'll be interested to try Tealicious' Classic Milk Tea, the Match-A-Green Smoothie, or the Brown Sugar De Luxe. So many bubble teas, so little time!! For my meal I knew that I had to try one of the signature Korean Egg Sandwiches and I was pretty excited about it! There are twelve types to choose from, each one sounding interesting and delicious in its own way. Ultimately, my choice was made easy because they serve a Spam Egg Bite Sandwich (Fluffy scrambled egg, Spam, cheddar, cabbage, mayochup, egg bite sauce - $8.95) and I think that I've made my position toward Spam pretty clear. Served in the most adorable cardboard sleeve, I have heard these sandwiches described as thiccc... And that was no lie. Also known as Korean egg drop sandwiches, the common denominator is always a fluffy, perfectly folded egg and soft buttery bread. Milk toast or brioche is commonly used. I personally can't go wrong with Spam and I love the salty mystery meat with my whole damn heart - especially fried up with a nice sear on. The cheddar added a sharp and melty edge and the cabbage (a classic Korean sandwich ingredient) brought a satisfying crunch. They might use the term "mayochup" at Tealicious Blend but in my world it's called fancy sauce!! Mayonnaise and ketchup combined is pretty fancy, no? Sinking my teeth into every bite of this formidable sandwich was a delight and a celebration of delicious flavours that came together in the most satisfying way. The value of this sandwich cannot be overstated, in fact every Korean egg sandwich on the menu is under $10 except for one. I can't wait to return so that I can try some of the other available types! I see you Spicy Beef Bulgogi! I'm sure that there are other restaurants in the Edmonton area that do Korean egg sandwiches... But are they as good as these ones? Certainly worth the drive to St. Albert, I loved my experience at Tealicious Blend! From the uplifting environment, to the delicious food, to the excellent value, there's nothing not to love about this cute bubble tea shop! 감사합니다!
