I had the onion soup which had WAY too much salt in it, so I couldn't finish it. Cheese was good. Plenty of onions. Broth could have been better if they hadn't drowned it in salt. Had the turkey dinner. Big slices of turkey. Nicely cooked. Mashed potatoes and gravy. Good. Carrots were fresh. Dressing was good but a little dry. Could have used some gravy or broth on it. I should have asked for it and then I might have eaten more of it. Dinners around me looked plentiful and substantial. Looked like the other customers were enjoying their food. Good place. We go here weekly! Love the staff (very upbeat!), the management and mostly the fresh and Delicious food items! All the staff is great but we love Sean, a server there most! He is very in tune with his tables and is there with a refill or more napkins or an extra dish without us ever asking. I do like the food here but do not trust them to get a to-go order correct. Literally every take-out order I get there is at least one item incorrect or missing. It should be easier to get an order right when it is delivered to you in writing. My office has ordered catered breakfasts from here on multiple occasions, I am beginning to think we need to go somewhere else for this if you cannot handle leaving mayo off a sandwich or to include the sides. read more

Really awesome experience here. I can't say enough positive things about the staff. Friendly, prompt, kind. Was exactly what diner service should be. I was expecting the place to be a little run down, but the inside is gorgeous. Bright and modern without taking away from the diner feel that most love about diners. The food was reasonably priced and was good, but not great. It's diner food so you're not going to be blown away by anything on the menu, but nothing we ordered as bad. Went there on Valentines Day and about 4:45PM. Ordered the beef barley soup which was good. Ordered the turkey club on wheat. It came out with burnt toast, bacon out of the club as was the lettuce. I would not recommend this diner. My wife and I stopped, it part because I thought it had good reviews, which it does. But our experience was not that great. We Stopped for a 'breakfast' dinner around 6PM on a Sunday. The place was not at all crowded. Service was very slow, but we discounted that because I know it's hard to get help lately. But, despite the long wait for simple eggs and home fries, this place seems dirty. While I was waiting I noticed the floors were kind of littered. My wife noticed there were no paper placemats like most diners provide. I noticed a sign as we walked in that said paper menus were provided, but we got vinyl covered menus - that at least seemed clean. The big issue I had was that when I opened my ubiquitous paper napkin that held the silverware my knife was very dirty, like it might have been sprayed with water but there was clearly greasy residue on it, and I could not stomach to use it, it was that gross. The food looked and tasted generally OK, better than bad but not great and not horrible. But I saw two BIG greasy thumb prints on the side of my plate that looked pretty clearly like the cook lifted it with dirty hands and put it on a counter or something. I could be wrong about what how the prints got there but there was just no missing the big GREASY FINGER PRINTS on my plate. I was starving and carefully ate the food not near the prints. As for the food, I had two eggs, home fries, an English muffin and sausage links. The home fries were not up to average for a diner. My eggs were under cooked, but manageable. The two sausage patties were still linked together and I had to use my wife's knife to detach them because I sure wasn't going to use mine. My wife had an omelet and home fries. She liked the omelet but thought the home fries weren't great. Service was very slow, although the waitress was very friendly. It was so slow that I asked my wife if she would be OK to just leave, but she reminded me that food service is just not getting enough help, so we stayed despite that. When we were asked "how are you liking your meal" I REALLY wanted to say something about the uncleanliness but knew my wife would be embarrassed, so I bit my tongue about it. As for me I won't give this place a second chance. When a diner is dirty during a pandemic it's not a good place to be. Even if the food was good, which it's not, I wouldn't go back. I had fairly high hopes because of reviews when we decided to stop here instead of trying another diner or restaurant nearby. Building renovations look great. Now the food needs to be renovated. I really wanted to like the food, but the flavor just wasn't there. We ordered two entrees, Chicken Broccoli Alfredo and Yankee Pot Roast. Both lacked flavor so much that I ordered a side of French Fries just to put something in my stomach. But even the fries lacked flavor; I didn't taste potato at all. Went here for the first time since they changed ownership and remodeled the entire restaurant. 1st the place looks great almost like it should be in time square, second the staff and management is all new and very weak. I order just pudding, after asking our waitress what pies they had , she told me no pies only cakes, what diners don't have pies. My companion order eggs, corn beef hash, he stayed with the water and I went with the coffee. We continue to chat, though I must note they weren't crowed and crazy busy, and chat and chat and chat, notice I never said our food came, so we continue to chat, then my company try to flag down our waitress to join avail, I turned around and looked at the manager, but by then our waitress came to the table and ask is everything okay. I said our order and my friend said yes where is our food. The manager finally came over and asked if anything was wrong , we told him that 45 mins passed for pudding and eggs, he said 5 mins should have passed and we should have said something sooner. Okay maybe your staff should have put our order in at the time we placed it. Needless to say the bill was completely comped, the waitress said she was sorry over and over again and said she messed up big time and our meal was on her. The manager did come back and asked that this wouldn't make us not come back and try them again, I said no, but my friend said yes and was go no to tell all of his clients. The old Circle Diner went through a spectacular facelift and is presumably now under new management. Their new menu is fresh and exciting, the decor is all updated and the place is sparkling clean! My husband and I enjoyed a nice lunch together at Diner Time - I ordered the mushroom ravioli dish which came with my choice of soup or salad (I chose chicken noodle soup because what's better than a big pasta dish with a side of noodles?) and my husband ordered his standard - tuna melt with bacon (and a generous portion of fries). My only gripe about the meal was the bacon had a strange, off-putting flavor, although my husband said he thought it tasted fine. The rest of the food was hot, tasty, and came out of the kitchen quickly! Will gladly return - perhaps one weekend for brunch, so we can actually enjoy a boozy drink with our next meal! read more

After a lengthy renovation and (in my mind) acceptable period of time following the grand reopening, we stopped in for brunch. The interior and exterior are changed, the menu has not, there are very few healthier options available. Egg whites are still an extra cost, which is fine but there are no gluten free or dairy free options. Oh wait, just remembered a new menu option.. they have gelato. I had a very good egg white omelette prepared as requested with carved turkey substituted for ham and no cheese. It was really very good, served hot and the carved turkey was still moist and flavorful. My companion ordered hash Benedict with eggs over well and crispy hash browns. Eggs were fried not poached, hash browns were under cooked by any standards and far short of crispy. Still the main part of the dish was ok, a second look at the menu ruled out eggs with a side of hash.. the cost coming to close to $15 as the hash is now $6.00 and egg dishes starting at $8. Service was nonexistent other than for taking order and delivering the dish. A separate server brought our beverages and we had to ask for the check. Regardless, we're happy they've reopened and feel 4 stars are fair with 1 really good and 1 just ok dish. read more

He asked for extra crispy home fries and they were not extra crispy and my cannoli cake was stale... I took it to go and found out when I got home! Not to be petty, but since when do you charge .25 per container for to go food? Just does not make sense. Owner saw my review on Facebook, he would like to "make it up to us". When they mess up on three orders out of four, doesn't speak well of the kitchen. 1) omelette ordered with veggies & cheese. - no cheese.... 2) skillet ordered with VERY CRISPY shredded potatoes ( waitress spelled this out on the order) & eggs over light - potatoes barely warm let alone not crispy & eggs had yolks like a hard boiled egg. 3) veggie omelette ordered with extra spinach - you guessed it, no spinach in the omelette. Made the waitress aware of kitchen lack of following the order. We did not penalize her and tipped her 20 %. The manager apologized as we were walking out. They need to get their kitchen staff squared away or they won't be there very long. read more

I stopped in tonight to satisfy my craving for a Reuben sandwich. The service was terrific - attentive and friendly. Fries came with the Reuben and they were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside - just the way I like them! Unfortunately, the Reuben sandwich itself was one of the worst I've ever had. First, it was one of the skinniest sandwiches I've ever been served at any diner I've visited. But it turns out that that may have been a good thing, because the corned beef was the fattiest and most gristle-filled corned beef I've ever been served. I had to keep taking fat globs out of my mouth as I ate...gross. The cheese - which should be Swiss cheese - had no flavor to it. The Thousand Island dressing seemed homemade with overly large pieces of pickle in it. Overall...this dinner was a disappointment for me. The service and the price are good. The quality of the ingredients used for this entire sandwich was poor. (I'd pay more for good, flavorful, fresh, LEAN corned beef.) read more

Luckily I had the presence of mind to ask how big this "side" was, to which my waitress advised me it was three full biscuits with sausage gravy. I said "thats a side?" The homefries were between luke-warm and cold, and the corned beef was un-recognizable by taste or texture and was heavily spiced. Latham has really dropped off over the years, take the drive to Topps in Rotterdam you won't regret it. We really miss the Village Diner/ Rt.7 Diner! Don't waste your money here. At Topps they wipe down the Ketchup and glasses in front of you, at Diner Time I never saw anyone use the sanitizer at the work station nor wipe anything down. The table looked dirty as well. I work close by and often get lunch to go from here, you can order online and pickup or get delivery for $3.99. After Dinertime took over, we decided to try it again and we rate it as one of the best diners in the region. I came here on a weekday morning with friends around 11am, not too busy. I came to this diner once before when it was under a different name, and can only assume different management. I liked the updates to the decor, and how it's been modernized with still a classic diner look. The service was good, albeit a little slow considering, as I previously stared, it was not a very busy time of day. I ordered a Greek omelet, pretty standard with tomatoes, onions, and feta cheese. Like most diners the omelet came with toast and home fries. There was a slight mix up when our food came with the plating (my roommates omelet was on the plate with my toast, vice versa). Overall the food was decent. The omelet was cooked well, lots of veggies. The home fries were a little cold, but tasted great and were well seasoned. I would have liked a little more variety with the jelly flavors available. I only came for breakfast so I can't say much about lunch and dinner, but the menu options looked good and they had plenty of vegetarian options as well! In conclusion, my experience was good. Not great, and I do think there are diners in the area that were much better. However, I do plan to return to try some of the non-breakfast items available and will give this place another shot. If you go, you may just want to ask for a refill on your coffee yourself because it may not be offered. read more
