This is the worst experience we have and they do business in a very dishonest way. We came on Saturday for the weekend buffet and it was clearly stated on the counter that lamb shanks available for dinner and weekend one for each adult. However when we asked for it, one guy from kitchen told us it would only be available after 4pm, and we had confirmed with him twice. Then at checkout we were charged the full highest weekend buffet price, and told us the lamb shanks were actually available! Then why did you lie to your customers at the beginning? Great options, I get to try a lot of different things but the quality is very good for a buffet. Hummus variety, different types of greak salads, Greek veggies are plentiful. Normally, Dimassi's is very good. But today was much different. My wife, the girls and I went to eat in the evening. As we were walking through the line, we noticed a cricket in the food (as pictured). I did point this out to a worker, who quickly removed it. My review is mostly about the service and environment I popped in to grab a vegetarian plate to go. I was pleased with the selection of food. I got mostly salads, dolmas and hummus. I was happy with the taste of the food. That was fine. When I walked in, the guy at the register was to concerned with his phone and didn't greet me. I walked passed him to go to the restroom. The bathroom was horrible. Needed attention in the worst way as the first toilet stall had in it. The other stall had urine all over the seat... I came out to tell the guy, again on his phone and as I'm telling him the restroom need attention he is pointing at the to go plates . I had to repeat myself to tell him someone needs to check out the restroom. I asked how much the buffet was. He told me I asked what the process was if I was just getting a to go plate. He tells me the food is weighed. After I got my food, I go to the front , dude is STILL in his phone. I was annoyed at this point. Paid and left. I stopped by after someone had recommended this restaurant and I was in the area around lunchtime. I was so VERY happy I stopped. I arrived at open, but I wasn't the only one there right away. The dining area is gigantic, so you will not feel crowded, even during the COVID era. They offered hand sanitizer and disposable gloves at the buffet to increase safety. The buffet was spotless, and wrapped around two walls of the restaurant (remember, the restaurant is big). I decided to try a bit of nearly everything, and I enjoyed wonderful taste experience after wonderful taste experience. I didn't try the larger chicken items, as I knew I wouldn't have room, but they looked good. There are so many food-type options that I can't think of any common food diet that would send someone home hungry. They had the standard fountain drinks, tea, and the unique options of rose water and tamarind juice (I tried the last and found it enjoyably intriguing). And then there was the dessert table. I have a quite joyful reaction when I see baklava, and theirs did not disappoint. I also really liked the pudding quite well. Food tastes great, but was unable to enjoy it due to the lack of COVID precautions. This location makes it seem like they are doing the right thing by asking people to hand sanitize, wear masks, plus use NEW gloves each time they go up to the buffet line. However, they aren't trying hard enough to enforce these policies, and deal with people who are blatantly disrespecting the protocols. In a 15 minute span, I saw at least 6 tables do one of the following: not wear gloves at all, recycle gloves they ate with to get seconds, and older kids mess around the dessert area without masks or gloves. The poor hostess is trying her best to enforce things, but her station is far from the buffet line. This is not enough!!! She told me one person had the nerve to tell her that she couldn't tell him what to do because she is in his country. I've seen the other Dimassi's in Richardson have a dedicated server to scoop food for patrons, but heard this one stopped doing it because of customer complaints!! Honestly I like this location better than the Plano one. It just seemed much cleaner and organized. I got the baked pasta with meat and sauce, kabobs and okra to go for me and my kids, two of them, for $18. They also gave us free pitas that come with our to go food. The first time we came here we had to wait on silverware awhile and they were out of a few things.. maybe a bad day. Second time we came here, they were out of soft drinks, and the tea was disgusting. So unless you like to pay for a super expensive buffet and just drink water with it you will be disappointed. Our whole family has been enjoying Dimassi's but that has come to an abrupt end. Our daughter and family went to lunch a few days ago and enjoyed every bite. They like going on weekdays because it is a better price for their family. When it came time to pay it seems the gal at the desk decided that since it was the last day of Ramadan she would jack up the price. No signage no warning before they sat down. When kids said that they were being over charged the lady called then racists! It is a Muslim holiday and yes it cost more and proceeded to explain she pays extra at Christmas time. Saw this place popped up a few days ago when doing some shopping in the at the shops at Allen. I really enjoyed eating at the Plano location and haven't eaten at demasi's for a while so I thought of going in with my friend. They're newly opened and the interior design is way better than the Plano location. It was a very homely open space with a lot of nice music. The buffet line looks very glamorous and everything seemed to be very very clean. Nothing beats demasi's buffet and free drinks that they offer. Starting with the hummus and a bit of tabboleh and some greens really made me begin my palate. If you're looking for the best hummus go elsewhere it's not that great but for the price all the mezze is definitely a bang for the buck. Lot of vegan options vegetarian friendly. With the main course I had some of the the brownish red rice that they have at the Plano location as well. The falafel was really good although I didn't enjoy the chicken dishes as well as I did at plano. Grilled eggplant and grilled veggies is always very inviting. I will say that the bread was also rather thick and hard rather than soft and fluffy like Pita should be. Other than these few setbacks everything else was okay and I enjoyed the food and ambience. Vegan's Beware! I love the fact that they have so many vegan items and this location has vegan pasta salad BUT when I went yesterday and ate some of the pasta salad it had feta in it. I went back to check and the sign still said Vegan and didn't list feta. The server said it did have feta and he would talk to the manager. To late for me, though. I'm morally and ethically opposed to animal abuse so won't consume any animal products because of the suffering they endure. My wife and I are not big buffet fans but we wanted to check this place out. It was immaculate inside and they were using very strict safety procedures. In order to go through the food line one must sanitize their hands and put on some disposable gloves in addition to having a mask. That made us feel very secure about sharing the food. There was an enormous amount of food choices, more than we could sample. The chicken I tried was a bit dry but everything else was very tasty.
