I have previously reviewed this location and come here often. Today was sad because there appears to be a management issue. I could not understand the woman taking order and wife had similar problems. Initial order was online but was cancelled 2 minutes later. No reason given. Got 2 plates and side humas. The pita all had a very weird paint / chemical smell and peculiar flavor. Check my reviews. I come here as a go to place but this location is disappointing. Look at other recent reviews. Really won't come back. So ask about the meats / veggies and sauces. They were ok. Wife thought they were good but I know what is normal and this was not that quality. The gyro meat was dried out and not like normal. The chicken was good but not consistent within the serving for doneness. I visited the Halal Guys Parkwood location on 4/19/2025 around 7:15 PM. As a regular customer who comes here at least twice a week, I know exactly what a regular bowl should look like. I ordered my usual: a regular bowl with no rice, just lettuce and combo meat. What I got was a joke--barely any meat, far less than what's standard. When I brought it up to the staff, they called the manager. I waited over 5 minutes for her to show up, and when she finally did, she couldn't have cared less. I explained the issue calmly, and her response? "This is how we give it, either you take it or you don't." No apology, no effort to make it right, and a completely dismissive attitude. She made it clear she didn't value customer feedback at all. This kind of customer service is exactly how brands lose loyal customers. If you're looking for decent food, fair portions, and basic respect--go anywhere else. This location is a disgrace to the Halal Guys name. read more

This restaurant is usually pretty clean and has a good amount of seating inside and outside. Staff is pretty nice and I never had any issues here. I love the food here. I've eaten at Halal Guys in New Orleans, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and here in Plano, the food here is seriously consistent no matter where I've been. Yes, it's still fast food, but somehow feels healthier than a burger and fries, and it's very filling. I always get the Falafel Platter; their sandwiches are really good too. The white sauce is awesome and really adds a kick to the food. The red sauce really packs a lot of flavors, but be careful to only add a little to your meal because it's very spicy. The hummus here is one of my favorites, and the Baba ghanoush is pretty tasty too. You really can't go wrong here, it's all delicious! read more

Tried the chicken shawarma limited time option and it was really good!! Got plenty of chicken in my bowl and overall they were pretty generous at this location in terms of portions. Don't waste your money here. A regular bowl is $12.99 and it's the most bare-bones joke ever with just meat, rice, lettuce, and tomatoes. There's an up charge for everything else (hummus, olives, sauce, etc.). Not sure how this place advertises itself as a Mediterranean food place when anything that would make the rice bowl even remotely "Mediterranean" is up-charged. You're basically paying $13 for just rice and lettuce and a tiny scoop of meat. This nickel-and-dime business model isn't worth supporting. Solid place to grab a huge meal on the cheap! I downloaded the app a year ago but never really think to go to Halal Guys since there isn't one right near me. But I got an email with a free platter email and instantly remembered them so marketing works! My husband and I both ordered the gyro platter for curbside pickup and the app is wonderful and makes everything easy. Realistically we could have split one platter but I'm a fan of leftovers so it covered me for two meals. The platters felt like they weighed two lbs each and a little of the red sauce goes a LONG way! If you sign up for their email club you will get offers which is always a win. My only gripe was the meat was a little more dry than I would have liked but it could have been a one off instance. Cheap unflavored meat ment to just be made by mass quantities. it's 90% rice 5% other and 5% meat they add the meat on top to make it look full. the up charge is insane. the food is dry the meat is almost seasonless. i was stuck in the toilet after eating this with a huge upset stomach I at that time I didint know if it was the food or not so i took it to work and ate some more of the dry food because i haven't gone grocery shopping yet and was stuck on the toilet at work too. read more

I had never been to a Halal Guys before and a friend of mine warned me the food wasn't edible. Another friend of mine is a huge fan. So i figured i would form my own opinion and see for myself. The food is ok. It's not the best ever that's for sure, but I enjoyed it. I was weirded out by the white sauce being called just white sauce. And it was ok. i prefer the tzatziki sauce from other places b/c i like the flavor better. but that's my issue, not Halal Guys. It was a little too much food for me. Delicious halal food. I was hooked after my trip to New York and was absolutely thrilled to find they had locations in North Texas! I drove over half an hour to grab food from here and was not disappointed. This was the same excellent quality as the classic Halal Guys in NYC. The Chicken Platter is to die for and I always love to kick it up with a full packet of their spicy red sauce (do be careful though, it's hot!). The restaurants are not quite the same experience. Here's my issues. Besides in recent years going from lamb to beef, and now raising prices in a pandemic amplifies issues. #1: the food is always seemingly room temperature; #2: the chicken always has a modest stench (being dark meat); #3: portions are getting smaller as staff have clearly been coached. "Spread the beef across the top to make it look like a lot"; And why not just use fresh jalapeños? Yes the sauce is good, and perhaps what brings me back, but you're going downhill and why I don't go as often as I used to. Big fan of The Halal Guys! I've been to a few different locations before. There isn't a Halal Guys near my home base so I always try to hit one up while I'm traveling. So it was super convenient that there is this Halal Guys was just 5 minutes from the hotel we're staying in for the night. This spot is open until 11pm on a Sunday and we came in at around 10:30. I was nervous that we would be an inconvenience but we were promptly served and the staff did not seem agitated by our late arrival at all and for that I am very grateful! Ordered a regular beef gyro bowl, which is HUGE. In the bowl is thinly sliced beef gyro, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and for toppings: onions, green peppers, eggplant hummus (+$1) and the white sauce with just a single line of the red sauce! The red sauce is SPICY so be very careful -- I'd suggest getting one line of the red sauce and a small packet to add at your own discretion. Since we came in so close before closing, we didn't order the falafel like we usually do because it does take some extra time to fry them up. Also, unfortunately, our meal did not come with utensils. We didn't noticed until we got up to our hotel room but we were able to find something to eat with in the lobby. Overall, this is a great Halal Guys location. If you're staying nearby and want a good hearty and quick service meal-- I highly recommend. read more

First time trying this place. My biggest gripe is the amount of meat that you get, considering the price. They are skimpy with the meat. You'll eat it pretty fast and realize you just have a bunch of rice and veggies left. The meat is supposed to be the star of the show, not something sprinkled on top of a giant platter of rice and iceberg lettuce, both extremely cheap ingredients. That being said, the little meat I did get, I thought was flavorful and tender. But I suppose drenching it in white sauce would also mask any dryness. A huge plus (for me anyway) is that their hot sauce actually IS HOT. This is coming from a spice lover. Someone who orders from Thai places and always gets maximum spicy just to find that it's a joke. I give it to them for this hot sauce, it's worthy of being called hot, esp for a chain restaurant. I don't like they charge you extra for more of it though. Real cheap skates. The secret white sauce was good as well (tastes like a cross between ranch and taziki). They are generous with this sauce as it comes in a large packet. Got a side of tahini sauce and it was very delicious. Unfortunately, their pita bread here is soggy and sad. I don't care for steamed/soggy pita. That's just me. But perhaps it's their style. They also charge $1.00 for extra pita and it's literally one pita wrapped in foil. A ripoff. At least make it two. If you plan on eating here I recommend having at your ready some pita from Kroger. Save money and not soggy. Their falafels were just falafels. I'm really starting to think, no matter how expertly cooked, falafel just isn't a food for me. Dried out hockey pucks made of veggies just can't be good. I think they made them the best they could here. They're the same dried texture taste at every middle Eastern place I've been to in my life. All in all, this place wasn't horrible but was overall a little bit underwhelming. Again, more meat guys. Cut back on the rice if you have to. Give customers what they pay for and quit nickel and diming. Will I be back? MAYBE read more
