We enjoyed the food and service. It was pricey which we were not expecting. $18 for an apetizer was a bit steeper. Our bad it was a special and was not on menu. We should have asked the price' read more

Have gotten takeout several times now and have not been disappointed. Good pizza and entrees. Staff is always very pleasant.

DiMaio Cucina is one phenomenal restaurant! Been coming here for many years. Chef and owner Sal is a gourmet chef and his creations are awesome. Mouthwatering signature dishes like Whole Bronzino with fresh crabmeat stuffing and Pork Belly Ragú are just two. Soft shell crab specialty dishes and Heirloom Tomato salad when in season. I travel over an hour to eat here because it's just so good. BYOB and reservations are recommended. read more

I've been here several times and have had very good experiences. Tonight's was different. Our dinner (appetizer, salad, meal) was delicious, but it took over an hour to get served (to two people in their 80s). Our reservation was at 5:45, and we did not get our entrees until almost 7:00. This was after telling two people we had been waiting for awhile. We also were told after paying that our American Express gift card could not be accepted. Hopefully all of this was an aberration. We do like this restaurant. read more

Really nice set up for outdoor dining. Take out is quick and easy as well. Big fan of their pizza. Tip: order it well done.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! We have been waiting 2+ hours for our food and no comment from the waitress or anyone in the restaurant. I am a patient person and I never have been so angry about no communication about how long the food would take. Not our waitresses fault but she could have communicated that this meal would take more than 2 hours to receive. I will never be returning here. Ever. I am appalled by this customer service. UPDATE: they did not offer any compensation for this ridiculous service - nor did the manager even come to apologize or check if everything came out ok, I have not experience this blatantly bad service in years read more

Love the service and the food. Go to order are Margherita, linguine in white clam sauce, truffle mushroom pizza, and calamari.

I was introduced to this place by friends I met in Punta Cana. I have been here 5 times now and every time is absolutely amazing. This time I had the chicken parm. It was by far the best I've ever had in my life. Everything is so fresh. The owner is the nicest guy and treats you like family. I would give it 20 stars if I could. read more

This place is soooo good! My husband and you have gotten take out there many times. Every time we love what we order. My husband has tried a few different seafood dishes and has said the quality is great. He particularly likes the seafood fra diavolo, which comes in a massive tray and is enough for two, and the fettuccine lucullus. I have tried a few chicken dishes and the one with artichoke and spinach over penne is my favorite. The takeout meal comes with a French loaf and a small salad. read more

This is an all around awesome Italian restaurant. Best chicken parm. Awesome pizzas! Highly recommend I've been eating here A LOT simply because my job keeps me busy enough that it's difficult to cook and the food here is just wonderful. I highly recommend the chicken parmigiana dinner. The pizza is awesome. Can't go wrong with the cheese steak hoagie. The list goes on. If you haven't eaten here you're really missing out. read more

Service - The service at this restaurant is phenomenal. The wait staff is attentive and efficient. Food - The restaurant starts off service with a bruschetta for a nominal fee. It's fresh and a great starter truly no appetizer needed. The portions are large and the food is definitely fresh. Setting - The restaurant is small and intimate and can sit about 100 guests. (So technically not that small, lol!) read more

Held a private afternoon party here for 20 guests in Jan 2022. Communication was excellent, flexibility was excellent , food was excellent, event was excellent. I had 3 guests with special diet needs that were addressed with care, and the selections on their party menu were quite suitable for the rest of the guests. Tami was very easy to work with, above and beyond our expectations . I have already recommended this restaurant to others with confidence and I seldom have the courage to do so. All of my guests are looking forward to going again. read more

Food was a bit of a hit or miss. I ordered grilled octopus, vegetable pasta, and linguini with white clam sauce, and side order of fries. The two pasta dishes were pretty good, but the octopus was not tender at all. Portion of octopus was also very small for the price. The bread they served on the side wasn't the best as it was burnt at the bottom. For its price point, I would definitely expect more. read more

Sal the fantastic chef of DiMaio's made my husbands birthday the most memorable foodie event ever! Wednesday is a perfect more quiet nite to go out so what a surprise to allow the chef to choose what he wants to cook us - we just shared the general direction fish vs chicken or meat and he did the rest. What a masterpiece! First the ceviche of nj thinly sliced scallops with spicy epicurious spicy drops, then an amazing set of gluten free fried oysters, scallops and shrimp w braised greens and mouth watering complementary sauces- wow! As if that's not enough, he moved on to a splendid seafood broth with dozens of clams, mussels, calamari! Wow a perfect nite of company, food and fun! read more

Amazing Pizza and pasta dishes every time. Really some of the best pizza and Italian food in the NJ / NYC area.

I'll be straight to the point - first time in this place. And last. Ordered linguine with white clam sauce. Received the dish and about 3/4 of the clams had their shells smashed. Small and large fragments of the shells were everywhere in the pasta and embedded into some of the clams. Looked like they used a hammer to open those shells. I gave up on trying to fish out those fragments and ended up calling the waitress to see what the story is. Waitress began to explain that sometimes shells break. So I sent the dish back. First time I ever had broken shells in linguine w/clams, and first time ever I sent the dish back! The manager came over. She said the shells break because of the high temperature they use to cook the clams in and that it's normal. When telling me that they will take the dish off the bill, it sounded like they're doing me a favor. Are they serious? read more

Took 45 min to make a Cesar salad! Even when I called and was told it would take 20 min. 5 people came and went and I still didn't have my Cesar salad! Just saying if your going to work and think that a simple Cesar salad would be nice and quick, think again ! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading the reviews for Di Maio's. I was pleasantly surprised with this fine establishment. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely dinner and were very pleased with our meals. We shared the calamari for an appetizer (our lovely waitress allowed us to try both dipping sauces). I had the Fettuccine Neptune and my boyfriend had the Fettuccine Bolognese. We both loved our meals and are anxious to return. Our waitress and busser were very attentive. We always had a full glass of water and the busser refilled our bread without us even asking for more. If you're in the mood for great food and amazing service you have to try Di Maio's. read more

Saturday night dinner table for four! Everything about our evening was perfect - our waitress, our server, the ambience, and the food! Recently moved to Berkeley Heights and wanted try the restaurants in town. It happened to be restaurant week and we tried the prixe fixe menu. I really liked the seafood fra diavolo and it was huge! Exceptional pizza and even more amazing dishes. The ingredients are high quality and fresh. The pizza is perfectly crispy and cheesy. We had the truffle mushroom pizza and the spinach and artichoke. Great Italian food and a really nice set up for outdoor dining. You will not be disappointed!!!!

DiMaio's is a favorite of ours. They have BEAUTIFUL tents out front with socially distanced tables and paper menus. The appetizers were excellent. we had rice balls and eggplant. the dinner entrees came out quick and we were all perfectly satisfied. we were too full to stay for dessert. we did the next best thing..... we took it home! read more

Had a 12" cheesesteak hoagie to go for lunch. It was exactly what I was looking for. Bread tasted fresh and had the right amount of chewiness, meat was not too salty and good quality with right proportion in quantity to the sandwich and cheese, loved the onions that topped the sandwich which had been doused in some sort of vinegar. People who worked there were friendly. read more

Wow, so Di Maio's has this incredible summertime promotion where all entrees are $7 (half-off of the usual price)and come with a salad, Monday-Thursday. I obviously took part in this amazing opportunity and got the best fettuccine bolognese I have ever had in my life - the sauce is made with "a touch of cream" and had big pieces of beef - ahhhh so good. The rolls are cooked right there in the restaurant and everything is super fresh. This place definitely has "regulars" who come at least once a week. The service was fast and friendly. Great place for a cheap, delicious Italian meal! read more

Bullet list....I don't like spending time when I feel cheated and disappointed! 1. Wait service inattentive 2. Chef/owner doting over one table while all other diners ignored 3. Sausage and broccili rabe blah, sausage had a burnt taste to it 4. Wanted something simple and ordered veal parm. 2 pieces of veal on top of overcooked spaghetti. So little marinara and cheese on it that all the 2nd piece of veal was, was a breaded veal cutlet 5. Called waiter over, showed him veal with no sauce or cheese. He said okay and came back with a thimble sized bowl with a watery marinara loaded with garlic. No cheese. 6. My wife ordered Margherita pizza, no sliced tomato or chunks of fresh mozz. Basically a regular small pie you would order anywhere! This after having eaten at Monte's in NYC a few days before!! NEVER AGAIN!! read more

so I don't really like Italian food, but Di Maio's is pretty awesome. I never feel like it's Italian, but more Italian-influenced. I always get lamb or fish and my mom always gets the black and blue steak, which she loves. I love that it is not a chicken-parm and pasta place. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is a pretty great space. Good service, good food, all around a good time. read more

I often order take out pizza here, which is generally very good. Based on their pizza we decided to try dinner in the restaurant to the side of the pizzeria. Never again! $26 dollars for salmon stuffed with crabmeat. It was overcooked and they tried to smother the fishy smell with an overabundance of bell peppers. I ordered the Fettuccine Locullos in a light cream sauce with shrimp and scallops. I asked to substitute extra shrimp in place of the scallops. Well, I had a whopping 5 shrimp and not large shrimp maybe one inch in size for $24. FYI The web menu lists my entree for $19.95. Both entrees came with a salad in a balsamic dressing, best part of the meal. My daughter ordered chicken fingers which were inedible. Bottom line $26 an entree from a byob off the side of a pizzeria in Berkeley Heights NJ? Maybe if it was a hidden gem, which it is not. Do they think this NYC? It was the meal that kept on giving as we tasted it all night. The 2 stars is for the pizza read more

We come here mostly for the pizza even though there's a pizzeria right around the corner of our house. That should say alot as we are willing to drive 25 minutes there and 25 minutes back to get this pizza. We love the margherita pizza and my daughter (pizza guru) likes it so much that she woke up the next morning and said I want that pizza we ate last night for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We ordered the penne all russa...was standard, not my tops and the portion was small for what you're paying. Their signature dish Rigatoni with Homemade sausage is delicious and have ordered numerous times on this dish. Introduced this dish to our friends as take-out and thought the same. We've been there for dinner and service was fine. Not crazy about their desserts. If it's Italian, they should have gelato not ice cream and should have authentic Italian desserts. Parking looks like a small lot in front but there's more parking in the back although I have seen the back lot full and then your car is in the streets. We would come here for dinner to avoid the crazy crowds near the mall. read more
