I've tried the eggplant parm slice - which had the perfect combination of ricotta, fried eggplant and sauce. I've also tried their margarita slice, which was simple but delicious. I just need to shout out Trattoria La Strada in Warren!! I can't thank them enough! They did over 25 trays of food for a 40th Saturday for us! The owner Rosario WAS TOP NOTCH on point, he answered all my questions, he went over everything with me, he called to confirm everything and again went over everything (there was a few special request about things we didn't want in our pastas ). He was very much attentive & he listened to me. I even walked in one day to ask him a few questions, and it was extremely busy, as he was cooking and making pizzas, the phenomenal magic maker still answered my question as if the guy had octopus arms he was calm, cool and collective. If you need food ever catered and have a big party, he is the guy to go to. I am a huge COOKER and I was planning on cooking all the food. I am happy I didn't because my food would have never compared to his food. As you're eating it, you're literally tasting every ingredient.. They were on time, they set up & even added some extra goodies (i hide them because his garlic knots are to good to share)! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Trattoria La Strada is a wonderful local pizzeria in Warren NJ in the A&P strip mall. It's been around for many years. I really enjoy their fresh broccoli white pie with ricotta on it. The ricotta is piped on top with little flowerettes . The crust is crispy and not doughy. It tends to be on the thinner side, but I wouldn't consider it thin crust. The slices are a nice size and they come fully loaded with toppings of your choice. Many interesting toppings like eggplant Parm with ricotta, buffalo chicken, stuffed veggie, and grandma pizza. I took my pizza to go but I noticed if u eat there they have new looking booths. The staff is very friendly and inviting. Trattoria La Strada makes and serves many of the Italian specialty dishes from your hot and cold subs to calzones, stromboli's and hot Italian classics. I don't usually write reviews, but I must say my two recent experiences at Trattoria La Strada drove me to this. We're new in town, were looking for a new pizza restaurant. Simliar theme to some of the other posts here - the owner is extremely rude, and the pizza is not that good (we've since found much better). I'll never go there again. The owner also has a big bold sign at the register saying "Cash Discount", then tells customers that they don't get a discount to posted prices when paying cash (unfortunately, your don't find this out until after paying in cash). While I get that some small business owners want to charge extra for use of a credit card, having a sign saying "Cash Discount" is very deceitful, very slimy - and the owner knows very well that he's playing with words and their meaning. Again, his unethical behavior is very disappointing, especially for someone like me who well understands the challenges of running a small business, and always tries to support local small business owners. read more

La Strada is a nice spot if you want to just walk in and have a couple slices of pizza or even enjoy a night out in the Trattoria with a nice bottle of wine. I cannot comprehend for the life of me why people think the food here is that good. The place is kinda dingy (not its a deal-breaker if the food is good), but when the food is as underwhelming as it is, the lack of cleanliness is a demerit. I really like this place that is in town. The make the best BLT pie around, and the service has always been friendly and respectful. I consider this a casual pizza place, but a month or so ago, i came in late to have a slice for dinner, and while i was waiting for it, i saw a chicken dish on a table and decided to order that It was excellent! Very reasonably priced, very good food and very good service. We went in last night for dinner because it was Friday night and i wanted to just go out for a quick easy old school dinner and take a bottle of wine and no worry about having to dress up and do a standard seated service. I had eggplant parm and this a perfect dish for this place and my husband had a pasta/ pesto with chicken special. Each dinner came with a salad, and when you are seating for dinner they offer a plate of bruschetta. Just a simple sort of thanks for coming in bruschetta. I had a surprise dinner for my husband here last night for 15 people. The food was superb. From the appetizers to the dinner, everything was mouth watering delicious. I had ordered a salad, and roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella & tomatoes as appetizers, then came the sausage peppers and Onions in a red sauce which everyone raved about. The main dishes were Chicken Parmigiana and Penne with Vodka sauce. The chicken was tender and smothered in cheese and sauce. The penne was my absolute favorite, the vodka sauce was simply amazing. Our server was Salvatore, who is Rosario's (the owner) son. He was on point with everything, very courteous and attentive anticipating our needs before we even knew we needed them. Came here tonight and had a terrible experience to say the least. I've been a semi frequent customer for a couple of years now but unfortunately that will be no longer. Sure, it's a busy Friday night but shoddy customer service mixed with poor quality of food leaves a bad taste all around. One that I can't make excuses for. My s/o and I ordered a chicken parm sub & sausage and pepper sandwich. Both were flavorless, mediocre and bland. For one, who in their right mind places layers of cheese on top of a sausage & pepper sub?! My man has been on this earth for 30 years, comes from an Italian family and has never seen anything of the sort. It was like something out of the twilight zone. Had the food not taken 45 minutes to come out, he would've sent it back immediately. We were starving and got stuck waiting for disgusting food. Mine, on the other hand, was thick chunks of chicken thrown together in rancid tomato sauce & pungent cheese. The chicken was extremely tough, dry and lacking flavor. I only ate half and was planning on bringing the other half home to pick through the next day (despite knowing it would suck even more the second day). I've always known this place was here, was aware of the great Yelp Reviews but finally came here for the first time the other day. It's an oddly shaped restaurant; the dining area is virtually one long hallway with not too much else. There are booth tables and what looked to be a dining room in the back. I love coming to pizza places during lunch time as the slice selection is usually great. But, I was very disappointed by the slice selection here. I don't even think there were about 8 pies to choose from. I went with a meat slice (sausage, pepperoni, bacon) and a buffalo chicken slice. My wife had a meat and margherita slice. Service was fast and friendly throughout. The meat slice was pretty good. Not exceptionally over the top but a solid slice. The buffalo chicken slice, on the other hand, was not very good. There was hardly any spicy chicken chunks and kind of just had wads of blue cheese thrown on which became very runny once cooked. I was not impressed by it. I would definitely not get it again. Overall, I just thought the place was OK. Definitely not in a rush to come back and not sure if I will. Prices were reasonable, though. read more

STAY AWAY!! For a pizza place in Jersey, this place is pathetic. Even the servers were sort of apologizing to us as we waited for 40 minutes on a Friday night for our order that we placed over the phone 20 minutes before we turned up. NOTHING has been done with this establishment since I was a kid. The soda machine is in the lobby and waitstaff are constantly bumping into disgruntled guests waiting for their takeout orders to get to the machine for drinks. No money has been put back into this place and it shows. The dining room is dark and ugly. And BEWARE of the front door, especially if you have pizza boxes because it hits EVERYONE on the butt on the way in and out. Back to what I was saying, they couldn't handle the orders they had on a Friday night in upper middle class NJ. Which is what all these positive reviews are. They're from their "normal" customers. The lower prices compared to other local establishments are NOT worth this nightmare. To top is off, the gnocchi was from a package and store bought and tasted horrible. The sauce on it was like liquid cheese water. No thickness to it at all. And we got home to a mozzarella-less chicken Parmesan sandwich. I work right across the street from this place & enjoy coming here for lunch regularly. The staff is super friendly, efficient, & most importantly, the pizza is delicious. I haven't tried many of the other menu options, but my co workers have mentioned that they are delicious. Multiple times I have called in an order and they forgot to make it. No "sorry about that" or "we apologize", instead they blame the customer they must have called the wrong restaurant.
