A Cantonese beloved cuisine with a modern take in the heart of the city. Booked an early lunch to be able to enjoy the quiet moment before the chaos of lunch time. It's a little pricey compared to regular dim sum places but the food quality will not disappoint you. Ordered from a la carte menu of some of the recommended dishes from the staff and it was superb. Highly recommended dim sum place.

It's a modern take Chinese cuisine not a typical dim sum spot! All the dishes that I ordered were flavorful and presented creatively. Service was great! Ambience is very soAlthough it is a little bit pricey but the quality of food will not disappoint you. Will definitely come back here!!!

Had a good experience! Convenient and quick service. Was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a GF (gluten free) menu! Had the Singaporean fried rice and it was delicious. Others had the fried pork dumplings and loved them. Cool spot.

We wanted a late lunch and dim sum library fit the bill. SO was happy that they served cocktails during dim sum (!!!). DSL uses high end ingredients and the prices reflect that. We ordered: Wok-tossed Wagyu beef with onion & soy sauce in a stone pot: Beef chow fun was cooked with a lot of "wok-hei" and wagyu beef super tender and flavorful. It was not too oily or salty. Black truffle har gau: Black truffle is ubiquitous and has crossed over into Cantonese cooking. Har gau had translucent wrapper, fresh shrimp and lovely earthiness of the black truffle. Chili XLB: LOVED this, the wrapper had chili oil and a nice kick to the minced pork steamed dumpling. Fish Roe Siu Mai: These were colorful and pretty to look at, taste wise they were delicious pork & shrimp dumplings. Lobster stamed buns: It was wrapped in a sliver of seaweed and was very flavorful and the bun was perfectly steamed, soft and slightly sweet. Chocolate egg tarts: This was something different but maybe I'm a purist when it comes to egg tarts. It was good but not great for me. Although it was a late lunch, they seemed like they were in a hurry to get us out of there although people were still coming in at 4pm.

My first international review, better make it a good one. Dim Sum Library is located in the Pacific Place Mall in the Admiralty area of Hong Kong Island. It is very conveniently located to public transit including the MTR. The Pacific Place Mall is a pretty high end mall so I expected this to be similar. The prices here are higher compared to average dim sum in the Hong Kong but I do think some of their dishes were pretty unique so I definitely give them credit for that. We had the fried spring rolls with sea urchin, the uni was fresh. There were also items that had foie gras or black truffles which does automatically up the price, but they were good. The highlight of the meal was the Crispy Pig Knuckle which was presented very well with a big pork bone which I think my friend got boxed up so she could make porridge out of it. The pork knuckle was very crispy on the outside and was not too salty on the inside. Like with most dim sum places, I'd say it's best to go with a bunch of people so you can order more and keep the tab manageable. I'd go again

Seriously the best dim sum EVER! ... at a very premium price, but nonetheless the best dim sum meal ever! The restaurant is located within a fancy shopping mall, which I was originally turned off by since I don't normally want to indulge in overpriced touristy restaurants. However when we walked by there appeared to be a lot of people inside enjoying themselves so we decided to join in for a little snack. I am from California and never experienced a TRUFFLE har gao, nor tried a FOIE GRAS taro cake. Best combinations. SOO GOOD. I wish I had found this place earlier, it's been a week now and I still think about this place. This place is a must go to for any future trips to HK. Note: although I enjoyed the truffle wagyu fried rice, I felt the other dishes weren't notable. At the price point I would skip the fried rice and just will myself with dim sum items!

So, for my third time here, I feel compelled to write a through review. Luckily each time I've been here, everything has been consistent... Honestly, the only thing from preventing me to write sooner was my own laziness! DSL is not your average dim sum place but more of a higher-end, swanky (think 1920's vibe), contemporary-Chinese fusion, which I love trying because, in life, you gotta mix things up once in a while. I have to admit I've found my 2 favorite items on their menu and gleefully turned my husband and my friend on to them as well. The first is their Crispy Aubergine (eggplant, yo!) and the other is their XLB or Dan Dan Bao! Aubergine...I'm still dreaming about with it's "Jenga" like presentation, lightly breaded sticks of delightfulness! How do they do that? The "orange" XLB was made out of carrot wrappers, hence the bright orange color! So yummy, with a nice broth and tender meat neatly stuffed inside! I'm salivating again thinking about them. Yes! I highly recommend those two items and a few drinks to accompany them and you're good to go...until the next stop! I'll admit, this place is in Admiralty, Pacific Place (PP), along with Chanel, Harvey Nichols, The Conrad, you get my drift...so don't come here with coins, because it's a little on the higher side but totally worth it! Service has been pretty consistent which is good, especially for HK, and it's a decent sized restaurant along with a bar. I feel the staff is pretty attentive. Lunchtime is very hectic so reservations are highly recommended. (We also had a time frame, like most places during the lunchtime rush) But it's also a good time to be on "foodie watch" because that is how we spotted the Aubergine after we had scarfed down our other items...it just looked so "Awwwh what's that?!?! We need to try that..." and the rest is history! Fairly extensive drink and food menu. Also includes options for vegetarians. Overall, highly recommended if you love Asian food with a creative twist!

We ate at the Dim Sum Library 3 times during our stay in HK. We were staying at the Marriott on Pacific Place and it was very convenient to grab a bit to eat at the mall. 1. It is expensive, but everything at Pacific Place is. 2. Service is fantastic, we will call and order from our hotel room, walk down to pick it. Very convenient! 3. Wagyu beef and truffle shrimp are fantastic, you have to try them. I will be back to the Dim Sum Library

My favorite dimSum Lunch Spot in HK. The exotic flavors like truffle, iberico, and black garlic are regularly used for some more non traditional dimsum. The rich setting and beautiful presentation really give you the feeling that you are somewhere special and not inside a mall. For surely this is one of my favorite not so secret spots as well as it's new sister company in Jade Library in HK newest Hip district.. ;) Hope to visit here again one day if things ever open back up for international travel. :)

Upscale. That's what I can say. At this high end mall, this place needs to have the high end prices to make sense. The food is good and the atmosphere is classy. There are a few special dishes, fried egg plant, that are quite nice. But overall, I would go across a the street to Metropol for traditional dim sum at about 1/2 the prices.

Food: if you're looking for fancy dim sum, this place is your spot. The food is really delicious, and the chef has done a good job of coming up with novel approaches to certain dishes (truffle vegetable fried rice, lobster dumplings, truffle siu mai, etc.), but also does the traditional dishes very well (bbq pork buns, shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, etc.). We particularly enjoyed the wagyu beef puff pastries and the string beans with pork. The food is quite expensive for dim sum - we over ordered and had two rounds of drinks, but a 4 person brunch cost about $400USD - but the quality of the food is excellent, and it's a restaurant in Pacific Place so exorbitant prices are to be expected. Atmosphere: dark, upscale atmosphere. The fact that it's in a mall definitely detracts from the mystique, but it's a very pleasant restaurant to dine in/have drinks at. Service: fairly attentive but the English proficiency is surprisingly not great. We tried on multiple occasions to order gin martinis, and it took about three tries to actually get one. There was also quite a bit of confusion over whether the dishes we ordered had meat in them, as one of our friends is vegetarian. Overall: five star food, but somewhat overpriced and at times iffy service.

Fusion and a bit pricey dimsum. The dandan xiaolongbao was pretty good (a bit spicy which reminds me of dandan mian so that is good i guess?) The truffle wagyu fried rice in hotpot was very disappointing ... couldnt taste any wagyu beef (minced to tiny pieces and very very hard to find) plus cannot really smell any truffle. Price is pretty steep for the quality and the taste that we get. Just another average fusiony dimsum

Dim Sum library seemed like a super cool concept - chic dim sum in a cool location in Pacific Place. Their menu is certainly extensive and looks like it would have something for everyone. Our overall experience was not bad, but we are not yet clamoring to return. To begin, although there were plenty of tables available when we arrived (that remained available the entire time we were dining), we were not permitted to sit and had to eat at the bar. This would normally be okay, but given the location, we were kind of hanging out into the mall, which definitely ruined the chic atmosphere. Service at the bar was somewhat lacking - with just one server, and everyone at the bar actively eating and drinking, it took a while to get attention to place our order. The food was the star here. The Waygu beef puffs looked SO COOL (you must see the photos) and tasted great, especially for something that looked decidedly like a pill bug sitting on a leaf. The okra with ginger was subtle and fresh. The honey glazed iberico pork was soft and flavorful with just the right amount of fat. While the prices certainly match the location, hopefully in the future the service can come up to the same level.

I went for dinner and as I was solo, I opted for their prix fixe set menu- the "premium" set. In my opinion, the food was lacking in taste and quality despite the high price. Maybe I should have ordered individual dishes, but even their signature baked crab dish was too creamy and salty. Service was also lacking in my mind. The waiters seemed unenthusiastic and often would place the next dish without a word or a simple phrase like "dessert" without any additional comments or explanation... and often had a tense or unfriendly expression. It was also difficult to get their attention as they were often times hard to locate. You must do so 24 goes in advance. Unfortunately the time did not work well for us so we cancelled the last minute reservation. We had their crispy half chicken the best I had while in HK. I ordered this dish everywhere! The Golden Leaf's was crispiest and the skin looked like glass! While the chicken was still very juicy! The mixed fried rice delicious! Our waiter was very sweet as they were almost closing getting ready for dinner dining offered us some more rice they had. I was too full but my fiancée was very happy to accept some more. With the youngest Executive Chef at a 5-Star Hotel and the fastest Chinese restaurant to obtain 1-Michelin Star in Hong Kong, Man Ho has become one of the hardest local restaurants to make bookings. Sauce is often the soul of French cuisine; surprisingly, it is also the case for the Chinese food served at Man Ho. You do not have to dip your dim sum with sauce because the sauce is within the wraps. While my friend is not a vegetarian, she falls in love with the steamed porcini mushroom dumplings that have the delicate flavor of Chinese soy sauce. Deep-fried spring rolls with minced Wagyu beef, onion and black pepper is the highlight of the meal. My friend and I are so impressed by the exterior crunchiness of the spring roll, the interior butteriness of the beef and the highlight of the Wasabi sauce within the roll. Nonetheless, we are disappointed by the barbecued duroc pork loin with honey sauce. Ideally in HK, char siu is smoked at a lychee wood oven. However, the char siu at Man Ho is cooked at an electronic oven, leading to the lack of crispy exterior. Overall, I highly recommend dim sum, especially fried food, over main dishes at Man Ho Chinese Restaurant. #ThankyouThursday
