Its not the worst campground ever but by far the best views are breathtaking but the lack of bathrooms for what you pay is a bit much.

We stayed here last night, and again tonight. 2 nights is NOT enough. I want to live here. I cannot wait to return. This is such an amazing gem, that I am hesitant to yelp about it, for fear it will be too hard to book in the future. However, I did find this place through yelp, and will return the favor to others. If you are looking for a place to book in Inverness or Point Reyes, you MUST book this place. It was worth every single penny. This cottage is in the middle of an enchanted forest, and I never want to leave! The owner, Wendy is so sweet, and communication was great. It was a breeze to book it. This morning, while I sipped my coffee on the gorgeous deck, I was half expecting a fairy to come say hi.

You know how it is when you are in charge of a big group's plan, this was the least thing I wanted to worry about and the most important! where to spend the night on that Saturday. But, then...when we arrived late on Saturday night, spent the night and then the morning of Sunday, we wished we would have arrived earlier and stayed longer. The true magic lies in this place. We loved this house! every corner of it, it is a very comfortable place and your friends or group of people will feel like home. It is a very functional house, whenever you need something (like a bottle opener) you turned around and there you go, you find it. It's clean and organized plus the cleaning fee is included which makes your life easier. It worked really well for me, with a group of single people and a couple. We fell in love with the house and we will definitely come back when the days are warmer. [Sorry for the pictures that are not rotated, I guess Yelp doesn't have that feature, another review?]

From our very first meeting, when he sat comfortably on my couch and spoke with me, as though we've known each other for years, I felt at ease. His approach was genuine, relaxed, and reassuring. That ease carried through the entire process. Once he set things in motion, his marketing expertise was immediately evident. My family and friends reached out almost daily asking, " Have you seen DAVID's latest video of your home? It's incredible!" and they were right...his videos were beautifully done, and his commentary was both informative and engaging. DAVID promised from the beginning that he would stay in constant communication throughout the entire process, and he absolutely delivered. He responded quickly to every text and phone call, and never once made me feel like I was a bother. My home sold quickly, and I credit that to David's professional, professionalism, creativity, and dedication. I am sincerely grateful for DAVID's outstanding work. Thank you David!

When we wanted to go look at a new house or back to one we had already looked at, he was there and available with knowledge and advice with a keen eye for details that as a new buyer I didn't know to look for. When we decided on a house to make an offer on, David wrote up the contract and we had an accepted offer within 48 hours! From start to keys in our hands was 20 days and David was by our side every step of the way. I would highly recommend David Millar and Russian River Land and Home for any of your real estate needs.

We have several well qualified friends in the real estate business and struggled with deciding who to use if we were to sell. We decided that the sale was an important business decision and we began to research other realtors based solely on their reviews, reputation and presentation. Gisele Lampe from Caldwell Banker of the Valley's name seemed to repeatedly rise to the top of the list in those categories and we contacted her to set up a meeting. During that first meeting it was apparent that Gisele already had done research on our home, the Alta Heights area, comps and property records. We hadn't yet retained her as our realtor but she quickly identified a couple of errors which occurred at the city planning level in which our permitted home improvements were never signed off, although they had been completed. Throughout the process she demonstrated that she takes a proactive stance in representing her clients. We also noticed that during the tour of our home, she was keenly observant and utilized her years of design skills to evaluate our property, make suggestions, point out potential weaknesses. One of those suggestions was to conduct a pest inspection. While I knew it would be necessary if we were to go on the market, we had a pest inspection a few years prior and received a clean report so it didn't seem necessary if we were not set on selling. Gisele was tactful and confident in her approach and recommended a different pest inspector than the one who had cleared us before, assuring us that her recommendation was a very thorough and experienced professional. The pest inspection revealed damage which came at a significant cost to repair but was necessary whether we went on the market or not. We had taken a lot of pride in our home and both the news and cost were hard to take. The damage also required that we install a new bathroom which added to an already escalating cost. Gisele was supportive and reassuring and in her very special and intuitive way, she helped us to remain focused on our primary goals and to act accordingly. While the repairs were being made, Gisele introduced us to her whole team, including her husband Jerry, her associate Jamie Hurley and professional office assistant, Laura Brasil. We found each member of her team to be professional, friendly, dependable and realistic in their approach. They all helped us to navigate the repairs while we were away on vacation, meeting with the fumigation company, contractors and arranging to open and close the house in our absence. Gisele set a couple of parallel strategies for marketing our home and even encouraged us to wait or walk away from the sale if we were not comfortable. We never felt as though her primary motivation were her own self interests. My wife and I chose a strategy that most represented our own approach and we signed with Gisele. We felt her insights were logical, well thought out and considered our longer-term goals. Gisele and her team's efforts resulted in a very quick sale of our home, at a good and fair price, which all occurred during a time that interest rates were surging and others told us we were making a mistake because we had missed the positive market opportunities which were prevalent a few months prior. Gisele and her team were all sincere, authentic and professional. Gisele is a superb communicator, she is kind, compassionate, creative, direct and naturally intuitive. We also admired Gisele and her team for advocating on our behalf and operating with the upmost integrity, taking steps to make sure our interests were protected, while working cooperatively with the buyer's agent and doing her best to ensure the buyer was satisfied. We are so pleased with Gisele and her team. We recommend her to others without reservation.

That recently changed thanks to the recent overnight accommodations provided by the Black Heron Inn. Located in Point Reyes Station, about a 5-minute drive from downtown, it's the perfect place to stay when exploring Point Reyes. I had done quite a bit of research on accommodations in the area, but the options seemed to either be way too expensive or way too "patchouli" for my taste. The Black Heron Inn was the perfect fit for me and my wife. They have three guest rooms, and due to the lack of availability of the other rooms, I selected the Grand View Suite. And what a "Grand View" it was. My strong suggestion is not to plan too much during the late afternoon because you'll want to open a bottle of wine and enjoy the view from the outdoor deck or the dining room table before heading off to dinner for some oysters. The clean and well appointed rooms have a small refrigerator, a small microwave, and a toaster as well as dishes and silverware, so make sure to bring some ready to eat food with you to store in the room since food is not provided. We personally picked up some breakfast savories and sweets from Brickmaiden Breads, and our mornings were set. Coffee is provided along with a Cuisinart Coffee maker. If you don't like your coffee black or enjoy creamers, be sure to pack some milk for the fridge. The proprietors are pretty hands-off when it comes to guest interaction (which is just fine), but they are very responsive if necessary. One thing I did learn while talking to them briefly was that they have a lot of repeat customers. Based on our recent stay, I can see why!

We recently stayed in the Grand View Suite and sent an email to the innkeepers at…read morestay@blackheroninn.com to provide some feedback. The email bounced because the mailbox was full, so we're posting the email we sent to Yelp. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Positives: * Quiet and peaceful. * Very nice view. * Useful kitchenette items: plates, cutlery, microwave, coffee maker (with Peet's coffee!), etc. Improvement suggestions: * The windows need washing, especially in the dining area. The view is one of the main attractions of your property, and it's a shame (and disappointing) to look through dirty windows. * There are cobwebs in areas in the room (example: next to the book case in the dining area), and outside on the deck and deck chairs. In fact, the Adirondack chairs on the deck were so dirty we didn't want to sit on them. * The room lighting is a mish-mash of incandescent, CFL, and LED, with different color temperatures. Suggest redoing the lighting with LED lights in the 3000 (warm light) color temperature. Also, the low-voltage puck lights in the soffit above the kitchen counter don't work. At least, we couldn't find a switch to turn them on. Fixing this would brighten up the kitchenette. * The handle on the right-side loft window is incapable of opening the window. (There's a small set screw meant to secure the handle to the window winding mechanism's shaft, and the screw is loose so the handle just spins on the shaft so the window doesn't open.) * The cushioning in the two table chairs in the dining area and the two reclining chairs in the living area is worn and compressed, so the cushioning is marginal. The chairs need to be reupholstered or replaced; they're basically worn out. Making these improvements would elevate the room from just okay to very good and make the relatively high room rate more reasonable.
