You'll have more boutique and locally owned businesses, or the big Dillards, Sephora. They are building a Dick's Sporting Goods here and a ramen place! And I think this is the only place that has Cheesecake Factory, Savage by Fenty, and Lush. So, it's not bad! We've come here often enough that it's better than the malls closest to us and the outlet, imho. There's plenty of parking, but because of the construction, you'll want to park in certain areas.

Now when I stroll the mall, I'm lucky if I see a familiar branded store. I basically only come for two stores now. I shop the Apple Store, which I am surprised is still located in the mall. I would have expected them to depart to a strip center somewhere else in the metro area. The other store I frequent is Tommy Bahama, but I don't shop there as often as I use, too. I can now just go on line and have it shipped to my home. My most recent visit, I could see the wear and tear of the Galleria and a desperate need for repairs and maintenance. Even though they made announcements about closing the doors, they blocked the doors earlier than the announcement stated. This made it very difficult to figure out how to actually exit the building, and then required of walk outside around the building to get to the garage in the dark. When I inquired about the doors, a worker told me that they closed them off early because if they don't, they get people running in through the garage entries close to closing time to grab merchandise and dash.

Working on commission, the ladies selling the fragrances were constantly asking to assist me, when I asked questions or told them what I was looking for, if it wasn't their product, their attitude changed. In fact, I can say most of the clerks were snobbish and prof of why department stores are dying a slow death. Fragrance is really something I do not want to buy on line without smelling it first, but with the service I got today, I may take the risk.

I asked why several people around me were able to scan their groceries and she said they pay $12 a month for that option in the app. In what world does it make sense to pay $12 a month to scan your own groceries?!? I know that part is not under the employee's control but her attitude is. They need to consider putting her in a different part of the store where she is not so customer facing... I gladly took my items and went to a checkout counter several aisles away where a cashier greeted me nicely and was super prompt. In the background, I continued to hear the banshee in the scan and go counter yelling at other customers that "this location does not have self checkout." Maybe better signage is needed...

In fact, the cutoff time for ordering a pick up was 4 p.m., after that, no dice. But any excitement about now having a Target available for pick up a short distance for my new home has been irrevocably damaged by two pick up experiences in the short time I've been here. The first was from two weeks ago when there was a slight drizzle, no lightning, just rain, and they suspended delivery to your car so that you had to go inside. Once inside, I waited an extra 15 minutes in order to get my items which seemed a bit onerous. That said, I understand it's for safety, even though I'm expected to get out of my car and walk in. If there was an active lightning storm, I'd understand. But tonight takes the cake. I made an order slightly before 3 p.m., hoping that I would be able to pick my order up sometime after 5 p.m. and not miss too much of the Indiana Fever game I was hoping to watch this evening. Figuring since I only had 12 items all from grocery, that my order wouldn't take too long, I pulled into Target a little after 5 p.m. despite not receiving the code telling me my order was available for pick up. After sitting for an extended period of time, I decided to go grab something to eat and after 20 minutes of driving around, I stopped in at a Chipotle, waited in line, grabbed my order, and ate my entire burrito on my way back to Target, which took a minute with the Byzantine street set up. Now it's after 6:30 p.m. and I still haven't received the code to tell me my order is ready for pick up. I saw Brianna from the service desk deliver an order to the car in the spot one over from me and engaged her in conversation about why this whole experience was taking so long. Keep in mind I've not had a single update at this point and we're now getting close to 7 p.m. When she talked about how busy they were and how they pulled her from the service desk to help out because only three people were in the back, I asked her who I should be mad at? Should I be upset with store management who know they're busy and yet didn't have enough employees available on the clock? Should I be mad at the Target app for not communicating with me? Brianna was great, and very helpful, I'm not upset with her. In fact, she went back to ask if there was anything she could do to speed my order up. But Management here is low-key garbage for making me wait four hours for a 12 item order. Finally shortly after 7 p.m. I got a notification that my order is ready, get this, five items are not available. So after all that, it's taken four hours for a complete grocery order. No apology, nor compensation for my time. By the time I got home I missed over half the Fever game, there was 5:58 left in the third by the time I turned the TV on.

Rarer and rarer these days... Mall was well-kept and clean. The bathrooms needed some TLC but, it was mostly a clean and spacious mall.

It was the glowing beacon of joy known as HomeGoods. I walked in with "just a peek" in mind and walked out emotionally torn over a full cart I couldn't possibly fit in my suitcase. I spotted a beautiful vase, a gold glitter decanter, and somehow ended up debating if I could carry a floor plant onto the plane like it was an emotional support item. Sigh! The store was clean, well-organized, and filled with everything I didn't know I desperately needed. I ended up letting my mom buy what she needed as I had no space in my luggage.
