I think the value of going in store is picking up a variety of shoes that are not going to get to you as quickly as through Amazon and being able to try them on in person. That said, I would be wary of coming here without a plan of what you are looking for because the employees will not be helpful. Love the shoes I picked up though.

I trained for a single 5k. This is no sport for me. But walking is a sport for me, and I have some minor foot issues, so I find myself at Big River once or twice a year. This location is in the charming retail and small business stretch of North & South in (or near??) U-City. The staff are helpful. They make sure to analyze your stance and movements. They look at the wear on your current shoes. They will order the shoes in different colors. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for service. Usually I don't have to wait at all.

I guess I am a creature of habit. I like that they keep my record of purchases in the computer. So when it time to buy a new pair of shoes, I just enter the store and tell them my name. They look at my past purchases and it's an easy sale for the associate. Even though it a super easy sale, the sales associate is still professional and friendly. They have me try the shoes on, to make sure I am still satisfied with the fit. In addition to the pair of shoes, I always add a pair of therapeutic cushion inserts. It adds to the cost of shoes, but the comfort it adds to my wide feet, is well worth the extra dollars. When I get a new pair of tennis shoes, the old one still have life and become my garden/yard working shoes. New Balance shoes have a good life span. A bonus about shopping here, you can buy dog treats to support a local rescue group at the check-out. For the dog cookies, you have to pay cash as it is treated as a separate transaction. When I see dog cookies for a rescue group, I am a sucker and always make a purchase. Next time I need a new pair, I'll be back. I'm a true fan of New Balance.

I called the St. Louis store and Lamont, one of the managers spent eighteen minutes on the phone with me. I'm in my vintage years and easily challenged when it comes to IT. This gentleman treated me with the same kindness and patience that one would treat a loving relative. By the end of the conversation, he had helped me get five pairs of shoes at clearance prices. Dots has clothes, shoes, and accessories for junior and plus ladies. The other day I got four colorful tank tops for $20 and for an extra ten bucks I got a few pieces of jewelry, as well. All cute, and the tanks are reasonably thick, washable and resilient, unlike those that you may find at some of the other discount clothing stores.

We have been long time customers since 2004 and have shopped at every store in the St. Louis area! We just discovered that they terminated us from the reward program because we made to many exchanges!!! We have a large family and frequently make large purchases and my husband is very picky and hard to fit. He normally exchanges 4 items a year. But the other 35 purchases our family makes every year are very rarely returned or exchanged.. It's their own crazy system that requires everything's on the receipt to be returned and then rebought when an exchange is made. Fix your damn system and don't penalize customers for needing to make an exchange. Oh and if you want to make a return, they want your receipt, driver's license and a pint of blood! Well maybe not the blood part! Looking for a new shoe store for our family. Corporate says we could get our rewards reinstated in another 6 months !!! They can take their reward system and stick it.... Oh, they took our ability to receive rewards away for a year and 1/2 for making over 4 exchanges in. a year!!!
