If you're familiar with Macy's, this one is laid out largely as expected. For example, there is a backstage area on the top floor. currently, they have some Halloween and fall themed items that are marked down. We were surprised to see that there doesn't seem to be a dedicated last act area, but the last act items are scattered throughout the floors in the different clothing sections. This makes it a little harder if you're specifically looking for off-season items and deals. We came in within the last hour and a half before closing time, and parked in the garage. Even though they made announcements about closing the doors, they blocked the doors earlier than the announcement stated. This made it very difficult to figure out how to actually exit the building, and then required of walk outside around the building to get to the garage in the dark. When I inquired about the doors, a worker told me that they closed them off early because if they don't, they get people running in through the garage entries close to closing time to grab merchandise and dash. read more

Today I was shopping for a new fragrance and had already done research on best selling and most popular. So when I arrived, I browsed through the different counters looking for certain brands, so I could sample them and pick out a favorite. Working on commission, the ladies selling the fragrances were constantly asking to assist me, when I asked questions or told them what I was looking for, if it wasn't their product, their attitude changed. In fact, I can say most of the clerks were snobbish and prof of why department stores are dying a slow death. Fragrance is really something I do not want to buy on line without smelling it first, but with the service I got today, I may take the risk. read more

I hadn't been to the Galleria Macy's in years. I stopped in on a recent Saturday. I was doing some online shopping and saw that the items were in stock here so I decided to just pop in and try them on. The second floor where all of the women's clothing is has been changed around but I kept walking and found the right department. I selected two items and then walked in circles looking for a place to pay. Finally found a desk with people at it. The checkout lady wanted me to know that the sticker on the front of the jacket did not belong on there and I shouldn't expect to get it for that price. I walked right past them, have made eye contact, and they've not even said hello or let me know if you need help with anything. Macys is convenient for so many different things and occasions. I visited this location to get an item for a birthday present. I called and asked if they had it and was told no even tho online said next day pick up. I was easily able to find it myself by coming inside and locating it right there on the shelf. The store was properly lit with visible signs. The parking lot had numerous spots and was wheelchair accessible entry. read more

I love Macy's. When I go shopping here, I tends to find new things to buy every time. Ranging from shoes, clothes, luggage, bedroom items, and makeup. Inventories are always changing. At times I can find great deals on certain items. This place has three stories and very spacious. There are plenty of parking space in front of the store and there are parking garage too. The store looks very nice on entry. There is a great selection of styles. Dressing rooms were a bit of a mess. Some staff were really helpful, others were... helpful when they got around to it. Some fitting rooms were closed and some departments weren't staffed. All that being said, I got some great deals and I now have something lovely to wear tomorrow since my luggage is in Seattle for some reason. read more

I'm actually all the way in California, but had the best customer service from one of the jewelry associates! Sharon went above and beyond for me! I was in desperate search for some earrings that my niece needed to complete her Sweet Sixteen look. I already found the necklace in the Macy's back home but they didn't have the matching earrings in rose gold. (Whaaa)! The Macy's associate gave me a print out of locations that carried them and this Macy's was the only spot who had them! So I called this Macy's jewelry department and Sharon was so nice to help find the earrings for me and assured me that they would get to me on time for her birthday. She even double checked to make sure they were in good shape! So, she shipped them out to me and received them in perfect condition! My niece is beyond happy! I thought I lost my phone at the counter that checked me out. I went back to the counter and the cashier stated another cashier took it too the manager. I went to the office and this manager said in a nasty, condescending tone it wasn't your phone. He was an old Caucasian guy. Rude and nasty for no reason. I had just spent almost three hundred dollars and he wasn't worth the effort of matching energy. If Caucasian women tolerate that fine, other women on their best day would have matched energy. Totally not a Macy's fan but I can't deny they have the most amazing deals compared to other department stores. On top of sale items they usually offer an additional percentage off which borderline makes me feel like I'm stealing. Cardholders also get the royalty treatment (I know because I use my cardholder friends to get me perks lol) or I'll use a Family & Friends coupon. Rarely will you catch fragrances below suggested retail but hey, can't complain when you're saving on so many other departments. This location has a Sunglass Hut sto relocated inside on the first floor, however these reps are not employed by Macy's and pretend they know nothing about the goings on inside the store when asked for assistance. There's a Mac counter, plenty of Polo Ralph Lauren, housewares, Nike & other active apparel, shoes, jewelry, bedding, kids, Vera Bradley, Coach, Origins Botanical products and so on. My biggest issue is trying to make a payment with these people. I went to paperless statements because my bill was lost in the mail numerous times. I was charged late fees and interest. After going paperless I don't always get a statement notice. So, I started making payments early. They canceled my payment since it was early. I have spoken to 5 different people this morning and no one can help me straighten out the problem. I want to make a full statement balance payment and I can't do it from their website or by phone. I don't see show I can continue to use their credit card. Its beyond aggravating and and HUGE waste of my time to be transferred to so many people who do not understand English. read more

I love Macy's. They have one of the best return policy's in the industry. It is easy to shop someplace that wants their customers to be happy with their purchases. You don't even need to keep your receipt. Macy's Pop Labels allow the computers to look up the purchase for months after the original transaction. Never, ever- ever... buy anything at Macy's at full price. Find a coupon, download a coupon, or use a Macy's Charge for discounts. If you are a Macy's Card holder your coupons come up each time you check out. No need to cut and clip from mailers. If it is full price this weekend, it most likely will be one sale next weekend. Sale racks in every department. I can find Designer Brand tops and pants for around $8 a piece on a good day. Another reason I am head over heals in love with Macy's is www.macys.com. I order- order- order like a mad woman. Things different than the picture, not the right size, wrong fabric- no problem. I run to my nearest Macy's store and return within minutes. Easy as pie. Customer service has really fallen down at thus store. The first cashier at the Michael Kors counter was unhelpful in the extreme. I had the item I wanted on the app, but she wouldn't even look at the item or item number. At my work place (Target) a leader would have brought them to me to place an order online so the store could get credit for making the sale. The next person I found was helpful and was suggesting that I do exactly that, but now I was out of time. read more

I ordered an item over 2 weeks ago, 4 days after it was supposed to be delivered (which the shipping company lost it) I've tried multiple to get in touch with an customer service agent but I have yet to get in touch with someone and I still don't have my purchase. I waited ob hold for 40 minutes the other day when it said wait time would be 15 minutes still to get no answer. I tried again the next day just to hear they were having technical difficulties and I couldn't speak with anyone. Shopping in a department store is not something I enjoy, but it is something that I have to do every now and then. For some reason Macy's is the only store that actually has a selection of pants that I can fit into without walking all over them! Their petite section is actually petite! For those of you who are taller this may not make sense, but for those of us who are 5' and under petite is a BIG deal! The pants fit me the way they are supposed to fit. They also have a great selection of petite dresses; and I love dresses! I agree with Steven-a good shopper will never pay retail price at Macy's. A good shopper will shop clearance and get some amazing deals on good quality clothing. I know to look for coupons and to search the clearance racks, even if I don't need anything. The days when I look for something specific I never find it, but when I am just browsing I always find a bargain here! Also, the shoe section is amazing! Shoes are fabulous and I believe I got lost in their section one time in between the heels and boots. The sales people are friendly and always helpful. Macy's is a good choice and again, make sure you look for the clearance section for an even better deal. read more

This is a sucky Macy's. Slow, dirty, disorganized, badly stocked, and they mainly carry galactic sizes. Speaking of the galaxy, where are the check-out people, NOBODY KNOWS, they have disappeared into some other dimension and can no longer be accessed. West County Center and Chesterfield Macy's stores are better. Their online stock info is more accurate. Plus you'll get in and out of those stores faster, even if you include the drive-time out to West BF. read more

Went here for back-to-school shopping and it was just okay. Pros: the store was nearly empty even though the mall was packed - my guess is that this location will be closed in the next year or two. We'll see. In any event, it was nice not having to knock elbows while looking through racks. We found some pretty good deals on their clearance racks. The person who checked us out was slow but friendly. Cons: the clearance racks were a mess. They should have someone go through them once every hour or two and put things back on hangers, sort the sizes, etc. It was super hard to find any help so my daughter could try our finds on. We waited in one department in line for several minutes just to ask if we could try on, but the transaction was so slow that we wandered to a different department. Couldn't find an available associate in that department either, so I told my daughter to just go on in. All in all, they do have cute clothes here (many are overpriced and you can find the exact same thing for cheaper at Kohl's), but the service was pretty poor and some areas needed to be picked up. read more

This Macy's is one of my favorites in the St.Louis area. The associates in the shoe department really go above and beyond to assist you. The could use a larger selection of last act in the big boys.....yes, I love a deal... They've recently added backstage and I love it. Would recommend it to the world. So i pretty much hate malls. Too many people, crowded lots, and pesky sales-employees. You may think I'm a grumpy old man and I don't think I'd argue with you. However, Macy's had some great customer service today. The story starts at Nordstrom Rack where I was picking up a new suit. They had my jacket size and pants size but the sleeve in the jacket was defective and too tight in one arm (random, I know). It was the only one left and I need it soon so I decided to grab and either a) see if a tailor could fix it or b) see if Macy's had the suit jacket, too. Low and behold they did! It was 40% off but still $70.00 more expensive. I quickly looked up to see if Macy's price match and there policy says they do not. However, I thought I'd ask anyways expecting a no. The gentleman, who I presume was the department manager, price matched the item for me! I was ecstatic as this saved me a bunch of time, money, and stress. Macy's you impressed me! read more

Bought a bedframe and headboard from the furniture shop. That process went well. Delivery was a nightmare. The delivery guys handed us a checklist of things they do to protect your furniture and home. They did none of them. They also delivered a mismatched bedframe and headboard. Then they broke the headboard trying to make it fit the mismatched bedframe. When they broke the headboard they also damaged the paint on the wall. What did Macy's do to make things right? We got a verbal apology from the store clerk. Nothing from corporate or the on line survey. We canceled our order and purchased our furniture elsewhere. That delivery was flawless. We won't be buying furniture at Macy's again. read more

Every time I go here I silently fume that Macy's does not have an automatic door for those who need it! Why, Macy's, do you not care about those who truly need this feature, and for those who want it because they have loads of items, or baby strollers, etc.? This just angers me each time I walk in and out and end up helping someone who is struggling with the door due to several reasons. Is there ever anyone working here who will actually help you?? This was one of the places my husband and I registered when we got married, and I regretted it at once. This is the best Macy's in the StL area. It seems to be the cleanest, most organized, and seems to have the most inventory. Also, I've noticed that items here are usually more heavily discounted than at the West County location - you would assume that it should be the same across the board, but I've found (on quite a few occasions) that you can sometimes find better deals at the Galleria location. The downside for this location is parking - on wkds, it can be a zoo in the parking lot, but I think that's just the case for all stores in Brentwood. Don't forget there are coupons all the time (there must be one almost every wk) - they're in the paper, mailings, and online. read more

I heart Macy's. They fashion buyer for this store, know's...mostly...what I like... though we've never met. :-) I love the shoe sale rack, but it can get CaRazy in there on a weekend. The shoes can become disorganized because shoppers are picking up shoes in the rack they belong and then dropping them off wherever they are when they find something better. It's okay though, because I really don't mind taking the time to look over every size rack to find the perfect Anne Klein heel in my size. I also love the clothes there - Inc, Almafi, Calvin Klein, and Michael Kors you have my heart. Seemingly every other week they have new stuff in for me to ogle. The scanners in almost every dressing room are so convenient. You can see how much the sale item you grabbed will be when you check out. Lastly I love that they are always having sales or sending my coupons to use in store. read more

The shoe department. The shoe department. DSW was worthless. Famous Footwear, a bust. Urban Outfitters, no go. Anthropologie, more like no-shoes-there-for-me! I had been searching for the perfect pair of shoes for weeks, no, months. Chicago, Kansas City, and now St. Louis had all served as disastrous failures. The guy at DSW tried to convince me the shoes I wanted were just not in style. Not in style my patootie! Not only have I received, like, a bazillion compliments since I *finally* found these beloved feet-huggers, but it seems like every girl in Chicago is wearing the shoe that I had to lust for and watch from a distance. But, no more! Macy's solved my shoe situation and did so with no-fuss! The saleswoman there, while aggressively pushing shoe sales onto me and my mother (and mostly succeeding), was nice and courteous and above all, helpful. I located my PERFECT pair of shoes within 2 minutes of entering the department and had them sized, tried, and ready to buy in 10. I was pleased as punch. My mother, on the other had, was having a field day having decided to try what seemed like every shoe in the store in every color possible. In spite of what I believe was probably a busy-ing if not slightly annoying customer, the shoe lady kept her grace and helped my mom through her shoe salacity. From the perpective of a dutiful husband, Macy's is way better than some other stores at the Galleria for dress shopping. First there's there's a comfortable couch by the dressing rooms to plant yourself on after you're tired of sorting through the racks for another item in the right size. Second, there's a wall-mounted television to keep your interest while your wife/girlfriend is in the dressing room slipping into or out of sixteen dresses. Third, the hotness/price ratio is relatively high. In other words, you seem to get a good value here. Guys, when she emerges from the dressing room, you are allowed to express your preferences. But whatever you think of the dress, always remember to tell her that SHE is beautiful, and you'll all go home happy. read more

I know of my friend Steven B's love for this Macy's location, but I've had different experiences in the women's and juniors' departments. I used to adore Macy's. Nationwide, the chain was consistent, clean and great for staples at discounted prices for many years. For the past year or so, however, Macy's in general - and this location, in particular - has been going downhill when it comes to the women-folk. The juniors' department, specifically, has been a hot mess. Where the clearance racks used to be orderly, now they're in constant disarray and spread widely throughout the large department. Where the clearance prices used to be severely discounted, now they're often still half-price or more. Where the regular merchandise used to be great for work AND play, now it overly caters to trends (and wayyyyyy too much clothing with odd lace and cutouts). Where slightly-upscale junior designer lines used to be fun and fashion-forward (Kenzie, Kenzie Girl, etc.), the newer lines are just strange (Madonna's Material Girl, all the Glee stuff). And it's difficult to find a cashier manning that one checkout desk near the American Rag section. My quick forays into the women's department have been similar. The clearance racks often are messy, but they're not quite as bad as the juniors' racks. Prices for nice work dresses aren't nearly as discounted as they used to be. And office-appropriate dresses have taken a slight shift toward matronly, which turns me away. I've found this to be true in the main dress section as well as specific designer's sections. Various departments in Macy's still have cute trench and winter coats. And I love the tights section, though I do wish they'd get a few more printed varieties in. And it's definitely true that Macy's puts out 15% and 20% coupons quite frequently. I'll keep going to this Macy's because it's convenient for me to take the Metrolink from downtown to the Richmond Heights station and walk to the mall. But I don't buy nearly as much here as I used to. Even with those coupons, there are better deals to be had elsewhere, and without all the store disorganization. read more

In store shopping at Macys gives me all kinds of headaches,, 1. None of the employees are smiling or welcoming 2. They follow me around like I am a theft? I can understand wanting to catch thieves, but I am not the one,, When I need to go into the store I DO NOT wear a coat or carry my purse. I am still followed. 3. No one approach to ask if they can help? The last time I purchased from Macys I sat at my desk in peace and ordered online. Havd usually had an okay experience here but now recalling that the staff can be a bit pushy. For instance, was in yesterday with a coworker and a sales associate continued to bother us about a sale starting on the 26th. We advised we were shopping today and the associate said we could prebuy and have it shipped. I continued to say my coworker lives outside the United States but the associate decided to continue to push the sale even though it was impossible for us to partake. We tried to walk away and browse but the same person kept popping up and bothering us. I appreciate the help but also enjoy to browse uninterrupted. Never ever buy furniture from Macy's, they will continue to miss treat you and cancel delivery appointments after you take off from work. The delivery personnel first stated that they rang my doorbell and waited 15 minutes, after I said I had a camera, they said oh we were at the wrong house, I said okay and rescheduled took off work again and they CANCELED again saying my order was kicked out of the system, terrible customer service and didn't seem to care about inconvenience to my family. read more

Macy's is one of my favorite places to shop. I can usually find something I like every time I go there. The prices are usually great and it always helps that there are promotions going on every now and then. The staff is almost always knowledgeable and pleasant. I've never had bad service there. The only thing that gets frustrating is that I haven't been able to return something I ordered online to a physical store. It makes things overly complicated. Thats about it though. read more

I'm sure all Macy's are pretty much the same but I think this Macy's is really a winner. I went from never shopping here so making this my go to department store. No other store can beat their sales and promotions. I always bring coupons to the store for my purchases and they generally have a coupon that can already beat it. I'm a big Michael Kors fan and I don't even shop at the MK store located in the same mall because the prices are so much better here on the same bags. I was able to purchase one at 40% off today which was a great buy. I shopped in their children's section today for the first time and bought so many clothes! Many of them were 50% off plus an extra 30%. Several items I got were $2 you can't beat that! The only thing I don't mess with here is the shoe department. It always looks like a disaster hit. There is generally a ton of people, shoes left all over the floor, and only a couple tired salepeople trying to manage all those customers. It's not even worth it to me to shop in that section. Otherwise, this store alone is worth the trip to the mall! read more
