The store wasn't too crowded, it was clean, and the employees were nice. The location is convenient with plenty of parking. Everything was organized, especially certain designers. For example, all the Lilly Pulitzer was in one section and all the Lululemon was in one section. There were tons of Kate Spade, Coach, and other nice handbags in excellent condition for a great price. They also had shoes, belts, jewelry, hats, and many other accessories. Personally I thought some of the clothing prices were a bit steep for resale, but overall it was a well-curated selection that I would highly recommend checking out! read more

A friend introduced me to this place a few months ago! I thought it was very nice, well organized, with lots of selections! Last week I went to see what the selling of clothes was all about as I've never done this before! I brought in a few pod my mom's bags. She was an artist and art teacher and collected unique purses over the years. I have had a hard time parting with them since her passing a few years ago. This place, I thought would be a good spot since they had so many nice things. So I walked in and was greeted by a lovely young lady who immediately saw my mom's Anuschka handbag. She complimented it saying how beautiful it was. I tested up a bit telling her how these bags meant so much to my mom it was hard to let go but how I felt this store would be the perfect place. They were done taking items for the day so she told me to come back the next day. When I came back, it was different people at the counter and the second I walked in. I could tell it was a very different vibe. They didn't greet me like the other lady the day before did. I explained this was my first time there I had a lot of clothes and some purses that meant a lot to me. And they said we will take a look and call you probably in an hour. When I went back in, she handed me my entire bin back and held onto the Anuschka and one other purse and said I could get $38 for both. I was shocked! In an entire bin of beautiful clothes there was not one thing they wanted. I soon came to understand that they only have certain brands that they will buy. What bothered me most, though was the way they spoke down to me. They pointed out tiny flaws on some of my mom's bags... I also did not know that unless it was perfect they would not take it. It was the attitude and their delivery that were just awful! I walked out to my car and then I went back in because they never even mentioned the clothing. She turns around and when I asked if she looked through the clothes, she snapped back that there was nothing in there that they would take. I just left feeling put down. The day before I was so excited about some of my mom's bags being sold there because I knew that the people who went would really appreciate them. Today I felt like everything was junk, no respect no appreciation. I think they could've handled the situation a lot better by at least thanking me for coming in, maybe comment how beautiful the purse was etc. but there was nothing at all like that. The owners are so kind and friendly, and they've always treated me fairly when purchasing clothing from me...because of course, they know best what will sell in their store. Dropped my clothes off to sell - 2 jeans still had tags on them. Other items were only worn a few times. I had jewelry, tanks, etc., and they rejected the entire batch because "they were looking for spring and summer items." I didn't expect every item to be accepted but I did expect the ones with tags to be. What a waste of time. I will never come here again. read more

Let's review this place as it was my first and last visit. The employees exude snarky and condescending, which should have been my first cautionary note to leave. Walking around the store, items looked more ready for a thrift store than a resale shop. A few items in a glass case, which I question the authenticity, but I would assume that the establishment would know to not display unauthentic items. I had high-end and high-quality items, one of which I wore twice and the response was we like items that do not reflect wear. I couldn't tell from walking around. I have been shopping at consignment stores for years and love a good find at reasonable prices. I wasn't looking for anything in particular this time. The store here is very clean and has a good selection. However it's very pricey. Some of the "designer" tagged brands cost less at large department stores during their sales. I am quite confused with these bad reviews considering I've never once had a bad experience shopping or selling here. I have known the owner for 5 years now as I have followed her from her old location to now having this store opened for two years now. Her and her daughter are always so sweet and helpful and are happy to answer any questions I might have. All of the employees make me feel good by talking to me and complimenting me and asking how I'm doing. As far as the bad reviews about not getting their proper money's worth for selling to the store, people need to realize that this is an upscale RESALE store. I am quite versed in reselling as I have been doing it for ten years now and what they offer me always seems very reasonable. It is impossible for them to give the original value of the item they are willing to purchase from you or how could they possibly stay in business?? Lastly I will say that all of the designer items that they sell are in fact authentic considering I have received certificates of authentication through their entrupy service for two different high end bags that I have purchased in the last two years. As I walked in, I was welcomed by cheerful young ladies, they talked to me like I was family which was nice because this is my home town. They have great style opinions, as I was trying on I got to do a fashion show up and down the aisles. They have great music playing so I was having so much fun! I found things that looked hardly worn and others new with tags! They have reasonable prices. And SOO much designer!! They signed me up for the rewards program and I can't wait to get even more of a discount!! I WILL BE BACK TO SHOP MORE!! PS. Their air freshener smells like the Four Seasons which I love!! just to be clear, this review is in reference to the selling portion of the store. I have tried to sell clothes here multiple times, and I have had no luck. I have brought in clothes that are brand new with tags, namebrand clothes, clothes for all shapes all ages and sizes. I was told that, they did not take Junior brands however, there were Junior brands all throughout the store, and half of my clothes were purchased while I was an adult. Just beware that if you are trying to sell your clothes, you are likely not going to have any luck at the store unless they are some sort of name brand. I thought that they would be willing to take a little bit more just to help out people that are in need of buying clothes at a lower price, but I had no such luck. read more

Today was a disappointing experience. Coming into the store (first time to sell with my arms full with a tub of clothes to consign), the person at the front barely acknowledged my presence (no eye contact, no smile, maybe a hi... but didn't hear it if she did). I proceeded to smile, say hi, and ask if it was a busy/hard day because of the obvious rudeness (wanted to see if something was wrong). This only escalated the situation because the person immediately became aggressive asking if I had a problem. WOW!!! No, I don't have a problem. Yes, I can shop somewhere else (although I like to shop here, but first time to consign). In an effort to diffuse the situation (my 9-year-old daughter was me and was aghast at this person's behavior), I apologized (although I don't think I did anything rude) and said my only desire was to be kind. Now, I don't expect the AMAZING customer service of Chick Fil A here, but looking up at an incoming customer with a warm greeting would go a LONG way! read more

I've visited this store twice and haven't been very impressed. Both times the employees have been cold and barely said a word to me until I was ready to make a purchase. I was searching the racks next to an employee for at least 5 minutes and not once did she acknowledge me, even when I said "excuse me" as I wanted to look at the clothing in front of her - she simply walked to another aisle. There's a decent amount of stock, but a few of the items I tried on were severely stretched out and some even had stains! I was very surprised as I've always been under the impression this was a more "upscale" resale shop. I therefore expected the clothing to be in better condition. I do appreciate the wide range of brands carried though and was able to find one item at each visit. In the future, I may stop by if I'm in the area. However, I wouldn't say it's worth the 25 minute trek down Manchester regularly. read more

Went today to sell some pretty new lululemon clothes. Lady in the front wasn't even wearing her mask correctly which was one red flag. She treated me like I was a child. Gave me just 40 dollars for 3 pairs of lululemon leggings and 2 lululemon shirts. I took a look around the store and everything looks like it needs to be at savers. Their lululemon section that they seem to take so much pride over is full of decades old lulu and they're being sold for an extremely high price considering the condition of the pieces and how much they probably paid people for them. In my opinion don't waste your time. Sell your clothes on Poshmark if you actually want to get your moneys worth. First and last time selling or even returning to this store. read more

Brought two bags full of clothes in and it doesn't even look like they looked through my bags. They didn't purchase a single item and tried to say I didn't have the brands they carry even though they were full of those brands. They even passed on a less than a year old, brand new looking pair of Victoria Secret pink leggings that were worn once. I love this store, and the people who work in it. I often find items I adore, especially new items with tags still on them and designer shoes that sell for a fraction of the price at NM. And, I've had great experiences selling my clothes. Did I get $90 for a pair of new $110 lululemons? No; nor would I expect that. How would they be able to stay in business. Bring your clean, used and recent clothing neatly folded in a laundry basket or tote (not a bag; no one wants to reach into a garbage bag) and you will have an equally satisfying experience. Clothes Mentor Ellisville is an awesome upscale resale shop! Love this place. Stumbled upon their website during 2020, when I wasn't going anywhere because of the pandemic. They have a website that is frequently updated with great bargains and many "like-new" pieces of designer clothes. I've gotten some terrific deals on wardrobe basics (like Joie and Eileen Fisher) as well as luxury brands (Prada, Chanel). This morning, went to the back-to-school sale and the sales staff was extremely helpful and efficient! Whether online or in person, this store is a "hidden gem." Tracy, the owner, is really sweet and personable. I don't know the young lady's name with the foot cast, but she was super sweet and helpful, as well. The store is clean and neatly set up. It is smaller than the other location. Many of the items were in good condition. So, if you are looking for up-to-date, gently-used clothing, this is a great place to shop. However, if you are looking to sell clothing back, I suggest calling ahead to see if they are buying back. I was in the store for two hours with lots of great pieces only to be told they aren't taking anymore inventory. I was disappointed not because they didn't buy anything but that I waiting so long before finding that out. So call ahead. read more
