This is my new go-to location because the one at Brentwood, parking is a hassle. The parking lot is right in front of the store and there are no hassles. It's usually pretty empty. The inside is always organized and neat. There are plenty of mirrows to checkout how the shoes are looking on your feet and plenty of stockings so you're able to try out as many shoes as you fancy.. The employees are very helpful and friendly. They guarantee they have your shoe and if it's out of stock on the shelf in your size they will contact The Brentwood location or look on-line for you to make sure you get what you want. The shoe selection is outrageous!!!! The prices aren't bad either. They have a ton of name brands at great prices!!! The best thing is the BF and I can shop for shoes together. They have everything from boots, to tennis, to casual and dressy. They also have a nice selectin of socks. The store also carries purses and accessories. Huge selection of shoes in a wide open store. I came in today because my mother absolutely loves this place and mama needs new walking shoes. Customer service was very friendly but I really owe the success of my awesome purchase to a fellow shopper. A saw an adorable older lady trying on a pair of Asics and asked if she was a "walker", she explained that she was a former runner and felt Asics were the best support but now that she's 70 years old they still suited her best for walking. I dropped the mic....she was a gorgeous, clearly athlete, 70 year old woman who looked all of 50! Anywho, she further assisted me by leading me over to the Go Walk sneakers her sister (who is a walker) races over. The DSW employee nearby echoed this sentiment and advised me that the Sketcher Go Walk memory foam sneakers were the top seller and most comfortable walking shoe in the store. I snagged a pair of black and headed straight to the cash wrap. The checkout rep asked if I wanted to add the purchase points to my mother's reward card....ABSOLUTELY! I'm WINNING today is all I could think. He looked up my mother's info by name and confirmed her address. Cha-Ching an extra 600 points for the premium gold card member. I've been shopping here for YEARS!!! DSW is set up like a warehouse- several aisles of cute and chic name brand shoes but at a discount compared to what you would find at a department store. What's even better is that they have a rewards program that allows you to save EVEN MORE money on those shoes you love! The store is clean, easily accessible, with shoes displayed/organized well. If I'm looking for a specific type of shoe, I know exactly where to go and can find it within minutes. A definite plus for someone like me who likes to run in and out fast. I was on the hunt for two shoes September 12: both replacements for shoes I'd worn out, making my needs quite specific. Large store, lots of aisles, self-serve on trying on shoes. Suits me just fine. I tried on a lot in the athletic/sneaker/tennis shoe category. There were lots to consider. I finally selected one ($20 off retail) that fit great, and the color was spot-on. The other shoe I needed to replace -- a black lace-up flat -- was more of a challenge, and I found nothing that fit the picture in my head. And, man, did I look, including a cruise through the clearance section. At checkout with my one pair of shoes to purchase, there was but a small line, and I waited less than a minute. I like shopping at DSW, but this isn't my favorite location. I don't live in the area, just had a shoe emergency and saw that this was near me. So I used my GPS and headed on over. No problem figuring out where it was located, but the parking for the strip mall was not the easiest. I live in Chicagoland, so I am used to all kinds of weird and nonexistent parking, but I was afraid I was going to get hit as I tried to find a spot! This is located near a gym, so there are plenty of folks coming and going. Good for them getting to the gym BEFORE January 1, but they need to watch where they were going! My blood pressure dropped when I entered the store and saw the huge clearance section in the back. I had found some pink Chuck Taylor's on a clearance rack at another DSW so I had my hopes up. Alas, all the stuff in the clearance section was there for a reason - everyone realized how ugly it was and didn't buy it! As far as the rest of the stuff was, it was displayed nicely, but there were slim pickings and not many sales people around. At other locations I had people falling all over me to see if I had enough help, but not here. When I went to check out, (I got a new pair of Nikes, boring but needed), I was the fifth person in line and there was one cashier. A few of them were returns with no receipt, so I was kicking myself for not having a book to read. I did end up buying something, but it wasn't what I had hoped for and then I had to deal with the idiots in the parking lot. I won't be visiting this location again. read more

My most recent purchase was at DSW online for a pair of children's shoes. It took three weeks to deliver them...then they ran small and would not even fit. We returned them. We found a different brand/pair in the same size that we ordered and they fit fine. This will be my LAST order..... They were three weeks late then did not fit. He had no new school shoes! This is why I never shop at DSW. They aren't competent to understand the difference between MENS sizes and women's. I was looking to order the all white rubber Birkenstock in 7/7.5 and I looked every day for over a month and they were always sold out. Then one morning at 7 am they were available so I ordered the women's size. I show up and try the shoe on to find out they were men's sizes. But I had to stick to the task at hand some basic conservative dress shoes to wear to an interview. This is truly the most callous, uncompassionate, demonic place I've been privy to encounter. I was parking my car, I saw a woman fall in front of the DSW store. She sat on the ground for a few minutes. Not one person came outside to see if the woman was alright. I got out of my car as the woman got onto her feet. She walked into the store. I walked behind her. I made sure she was okay. The cashier didn't greet either of us. I went to one part of the store and she went to another. She didn't stay long. As she walked towards the door, as she was existing, the cashier mocking said,while laughing,"have a nice day." The cashier and customer she was waiting on began to laugh. The cashier, the customer, and I are all white. That woman who fell was black. I was appalled at the behavior of the cashier. I will never patronize DSW again. Makes me wonder about common courtesy. I've found some pretty good deals here (head to the back for the clearance!). They have a very nice selection of boots for fall and winter that are moderately priced. I tried on some cute chocolate leather ankle boots with buckles for $49 this past weekend but wanted to wait until the weather gets colder to buy them. A pair of yellow round-toe pumps for $29 were a "score!" find on the sale rack...if only they were a 1/2 size larger. Argh! My boyfriend was eying some Adidas slip-ons, but ended up buying shoes for work. So they have a wide variety of styles and prices, which are even more reasonable at a season's end. read more

Let me start by saying the DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse location out west is generally more well stocked with more varieties of cute shoes than the newer DSW location in Brentwood. The large floor plan allows this DSW to display a large number of both mens and women's shoes (of course more emphasis on women's shoes) plus a large selection at the back for discounted shoes. While the shoes may not necessarily be the same ones in stores, the variety of brands, sizes and styles is really impressive. I believe the discounts come because most shoes are last season (but really, are most people going to know those cute Coach flats were in stores last fall as opposed to this spring?), but the savings are worth it. I mean, who wears shoes for just one season and pitches them or deems them "out of style" anyway? I've been to DSWs in larger cities that had higher end designers like Kate Spade and Gucci, but for this particular DSW, the higher end brands usually cap out at Coach, maybe BCBGirls, Guess, etc. Not quite so classy, but also much more affordable and price point appropriate for the surrounding marketing and demographics. Each store tends to have slightly different shoes based on their surroundings, which is smart, so if you're looking for a particular shoe or boot, try another store - they may have what you're looking for. While it doesn't always knock it out of the ballpark, I've had luck with DSW and I certainly consider them whenever I'm thinking about a new pair of kicks. read more

I am a firm believer in helping protect people with face coverings. I have claustrophobia and anxiety and am unable to wear a mask without having some panic issues. My doctor suggested the face shield and I can wear it without too much of a problem. This store threatened and bullied me when I went in with the face shield. The workers were very rude even when I explained my problem and I had a card from my doctor they still said they were calling the police. They upset my daughter and were not understanding at all. I've gone into now three hospitals, my cardiac doctor, my GP and an urgent care - among all the other retail shops- and no one has questioned me or given me a hard time. When I emailed DSW about it they said no, I had to wear a mask or order on line. I sent them the link from St. Louis county stating the mandate of a face covering, not mask- face covering. Every time the answer was the same and from a different associate. I will never buy shoes again there, my friends won't buy shoes there. They only want your money and could care less about you as a person. read more

Normally I do not have complaints at this store, but this time was different for sure. I received two rewards coupons in the mail and decided to head over there yesterday and pick up a free satchel. Of course I also was looking for good shoe deals, which I found three of! I got to the check out and gave the girl my coupons and she said sorry we are out of these. I told her this is the whole reason I came in today, to use my coupon and get my free bag. She was snotty and said we run out of those in normally a day, so you wanna buy these or not?
