I had a dress to return and I was told I had to go to the dress department to make the return. And they don't have a lot of staff I went to three different registers looking for someone to make my return to. Some old woman at customer service refused my return for absolutely no reason, I had my receipt and I was within 30 days, and when I questioned her about it and, then, told her that it was just bad customer service and walked away, she called me a "bitch, F... bitch", which then resulted in a verbal altercation! I don't care how difficult or frustrating I get, I'm not in customer service, and I don't represent a company, this kind of behavior towards customers should never be acceptable or allowed, it's appalling!! read more

I needed a formal dress for my nieces upcoming sweet 16 so I went to Dillard's and they are having a huge sale! They have their additional 40% off sale 7x a year throughout their entire store! If you see a pink markdown price you can take an additional 40% off that pink markdown ticket price! One of my gfs in Utah made a post and told me that Dillard's are having a sale and she went during her lunch break and purchased a ton of new name brand shoes like Steve Maddens and etc for less than $20 and while I was there a women at the register scored some cute Calvin Klein dresses for $20. I purchased a beautiful Champaign colored gown for $60 and 2 Tommy Hilfiger dresses for $20. I'm absolutely in love with my purchases! You should definitely check the sale out! It lasts til Saturday and you can also shop online (but I've heard there are more option in-store versus online). Let's just say to begin that I like Dillard's! I love the size of this store as it provides the best exercise track inside at St. John's on the hot days here! But I also like it because you can find just about anything you want here - aside from electronics! Hey, if you like Christmas, you can have it right now too! There is a stellar full display - trees and all - on the second level. Their men's clothing and accessory area is huge. Their women's clothing and accessorizing areas are humongous!! Yes, Dillard's is impressive in size, appearance, and what it has to offer. I may not be as favorable to the high dollar prices here. I don't like the idea of paying over $80 for a basic shirt. Yes, sounds a little Nordstrom-like to me. But it is important to remember that you gotta look for the sales and Dillard's. For instance, last week much of the store offered 65 percent off in the clothing areas. Watch for ads, look at the website - there are always ways to save! This Dillard's is so nice! It's huge. It has a great selection of fashion jewelry, women's shoes, handbags, and sunglasses. The store was well lit and everything was super organized. You can definitely find some great items on sale and clearance if you're willing to take the time to look. I would've given this store a 5, but the customer service was hit or miss from department to department. Sometimes an associate would ask if I needed assistance. Today we were there and all the sale clothing was wrapped up to be shipped and we were not able to see it. As of today, I would only recommend them based on the variety. I have walked from one end of the shoe department to the other. No employee at all has greeted me. I passed 3 of them. I was returning items that weren't wanted for Christmas and usually you don't need the receipt. When I proceeded to return it the associate asked if it was purchased on a gift card since that was the only way they would refund me, and I said no. Then I asked is it because I bought it on Black Friday in November(today was Jan6). She said no, that doesn't matter. So I said if I bring my receipt you'll be able to return on my card? And she said yes. Well I went home to look for the receipt and a few hours later returned to the store and tried to return and it would only let me get a gift card. Basically I went home to get my receipt for no reason!!!!!! Not only would they not return it on my card, but even with the receipt I was given a return price of the current selling price!!!! I wasted my time looking for the receipt for nothing!!! Dillards- make sure your employees are trained to know about return policy instead of making customers frustrated with lack of knowledge of your employees!!!! We come in here every so often and we find this store to be fit or miss. Our problem is normally the employees. We often find that we cant browse around without someone following us or asking if we need help. While we love good customer service, a few times, we've found it just uncomfortable. I think the best section in the whole place are their intimates. You can find high quality bras and pajamas etc for a very good price. Solid department store and typically the first place I start if I'm looking for any gifts or a particular piece of clothing. My boyfriend also pretty much only buys his suits here. Chad and Michael in men's suiting are fantastic and super helpful. Donna upstairs (by Eileen Fisher) is amazing too. She was super helpful in finding what I wanted and helped me survived my first New Years Day sale! FYI for the world of yelp. The New Years Day sale is insane and probably worse than Black Friday ha. All sale items (with pink tag) is additional 50% off, all Christmas is 75% off, and all of men's is 50% off. Its Dillard's biggest sale of the year. I absolutely love Dillard's and I'm in this one all the time. They have expensive clothes and expensive shoes, but I am a thrifty shopper and Dillard's has the most excellent sales! I buy winter clothes in the summer when they are on clearance and summer clothes in the winter when they are on clearance. I wear plus-size and they have TONS of clothing for the plus-sized woman! When they have their sales, the clearance racks are almost endless! I have bought $100+ dresses and skirts here for $10-$15. For real! I have bought $100+ shoes here for $10-$20. For real! I even picked up an $800 Coach bag here for like $50. For real! I've also started scouting out the men's section too when they have their clearance going on. Picked up $60 polo shirts for my hubby for $6 each. I bought him like 20 of them. He's like, "What do I need 20 polo shirts for?!" I'm like, "Because they're on sale, dammit!" LOL I find this store to be very well organized and maintained. Sometimes it can be difficult finding a salesperson for help, but when I do, they are always friendly and helpful. I wear Chanel make-up and they have a nice Chanel counter here. The ladies who man the counter are ok, but honestly, I like the ladies at the Chanel counter much better at the Dillard's at the Avenues, so I tend to purchase my make-up there instead. This is also where I park when I'm at the Town Centre. If you park on the side of Dillard's away from the Barnes and Noble, you can find a spot fairly easily. So many people talk about the horrible parking at the Town Centre, but I don't have a problem finding parking here (unless it's near Christmastime, of course). read more

Why are there no Dillard's in Miami? To be honest, I had thought they were a rather mediocre chain, although I'm not sure I've actually been in one before. We walked in to get my mother a handbag and my nephew a bathrobe. The handbag area was huge and very upscale. I was so surprised to find some Louis Vuitton handbags on display. She selected a stylish Michael Kors and we went to the men's area. My sister said the robes were either too thin or too heavy and she sought something in between, but I was busy being wowed by the men's big and tall area. My husband is very tall, and if lucky enough to find his size -- the apparel is usually very basic. Here I found loads of stylish merchandise in all sizes. So cool! We hit the restrooms and although they looked pleasant we all commented that the restrooms needed cleaning. And during covid, customers hope for EXTRA cleaning, not a noticeable lack. But overall, Dillard's was a big surprise and if by myself I could've spend hours exploring there, whereas a lot of chains right now during covid seem to have lower inventory and a bit of a lack of new and exciting merchandise. read more

Yes, they have a small selection of jewelry for people with sensitive skin. (As I write this, I think I should consider opening up a store for people with sensitive skin.) I went looking high and low for sensitive skin bangle bracelets and finally found them here in late October. The bangle bracelets I bought were 3 in a set that cost $20 for the whole set. I can't believe how many times I have come to the St. Johns Town Center, even parked beside this place and yet last weekend was my first visit! I walked in from the entrance opposite of the parking and everything was set up so beautifully! It had a great winter feel to it :) I have yet to venture upstairs but downstairs was nice. They have a great selection of make up, and they have the make up brands that offer special sets if you purchase a certain quantity of skincare/makeup from a certain brand such as Lancôme, Estee Lauder or Clinique, (just to name a few) you will receive complimentary products and cute little gift bags free! They usually have these sets on display by the make up counters but you can always ask if they are offering a promotion. I enjoyed the selection of hand bags at this location. Everything was very current and up to date on trend. My favorites included the Coach and Michael Kors section. My next favorite section was the men's clothing department. Though I don't know many men who wear the whole suit and tie, the display of the suits and ties were impeccable! They had a nice variety of long sleeve button down collared shirts and polo's which I sifted through (hoping to find some good Christmas presents). Most of the men's clothing was on sale from 20-40% off (as far I the sections I was looking through) so I will keep in mind for the future, they do have good sales on quality items! Overall, the store is clean and the employee's are relatively attentive, though they were pretty busy last weekend, I think this is because of the abundance of Christmas shoppers. read more

Being a makeup and cosmetics enthusiast, I'm regularly stopping by the counters to try out new products and get my colour, skin care, and fragrance. I absolutely love coming to Dillard's Town Centre's Dior and Chanel counters. The beauty consultants are extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and it's a joy to have them do my makeup for me and teach me new tricks and techniques. They're not high pressure sales people, they make you feel appreciated whether you buy nothing, just one product, or fifteen. I'd like to give kudos to Em at the Dior counter and Zaira at Chanel. They are fabulous makeup artists and absolutely wonderful to shop with. I encourage you to drop by if you're looking for a new foundation and get colour matched by the best in the field or if you'd like to pick up new colours, update your skin care, or get some cosmetics for a special event. This was my most pleasant experience at a Dillard's. My husband purchased a cologne because the lady at the men's cologne counter was so nice and informative. Lori in the cosmetics department was very helpful, swatched shades of foundation on my face, and assisted me with picking out a new foundation and primer. She was very knowledgeable. This Dillard's is probably the nicest one in the city. When I come here, it's usually to visit the Clinique counter or look for a purse. My last visit was to pick up some foundation at Clinique and grab the free bonus gift with purchase. The counter lady was friendly and greeted me promptly. I bought to compacts both of which were over the minimum purchase, so she gave me two bonus gifts. This rarely happens, so it was a nice surprise! After my makeup purchase, it was required that I spend some time checking out the purses. I love-love-love Lodis but Dillard's only has the small leather goods and not handbags or briefcases. If they carried more of the line, I would be so happy. And poor. They have pretty good selection of Coach and Michael Kors handbags. The jewelry department is nice and I've found some cute costume jewelry on clearance. This store is the largest in town, the newest, and it shows. The aisles are wide, the store is bright and clean, the employees are usually around and have always been friendly and helpful. Keep it up, Dillard's! read more

MOMMA LOVES A WELL STAFFED STORE! Dillard's is one of my favorite stores to shop when traveling. I love their shoe department so naturally this is where I landed. I was in search of a navy blue sandal and pulled one from the display. I quickly found an employee to locate my perfect size. While he was in the back, I was perusing the clearance rack and actually found another pair of my favorite brand, (Born) and they too were deeply discounted. They are very dark and once I check them under several light sources, I am convinced that they are navy blue. Not so, because if you look at the description on the bottom of the shoes, both are black! Curses! How does that happen? The employee was kind enough to explain the following: The shoes are organized according to color so he offered to go down the blue line looking for my size and options I might like. Now that's customer service. Although I did not find any sandals, I still had a great time shopping in this store and would certainly return. As far as large retailers go, Dillard's continues to be the first place I look, and 9 times out of 10, find something delightful. No huge surprise, I love, love, love their sales... but I've had luck finding amazing dresses for weddings, parties, and just casual things, of course THE SHOE DEPARTMENT always has a great selection and decent pricing, and, I can find some pretty sweet stuff for Adam here as well. The store always seems clean, and well organized (even the sale sections) and customer service in my experience has always gone above and beyond... Now I love shopping here and never had an issue before it I just needed to say that the customer service was very poor the last time I was here. Now to some this may seem silly but I personally was annoyed. I was trying to find Kate Spade stationary. I'm looking for her 2015 planner. I walked around that store, two floors, until I finally found the section. Now my planner wasn't there so time officially wasted. Now you might say why didn't you ask someone for help. I came into Dillards trying to buy a dress shirt, and was greeted with a dirty look from the clerk at Polo. Amy (I think that was her name, she pronounced it Army), was the only person, out of 10 or so employees in the ENTIRE men's section to offer help. She deserves a better place of work. I went to look at the shoes, and the two available associates were talking to eachother. The other associate was obviously flustered, and crouched behind a counter. She acknowledged me so quietly that I had to ask her to repeat herself. She never made eye contact. The two other male associates, one of which seemed to be the manager (he was also at Polo when I got the dirty look), were having a conversation about someone's ex wife, or girlfriend, and how she was moving from one man to another. I didn't hear much of this, because the chauvinistic tone was enough to convince me to never come back. Hope this store gets fixed. Disgusting fitting rooms. Overfilled fixtures. Terrible service. Wow, my mom always raves about Dillard's and their selection so we thought we would check out their big New Years One Day sale. The place was a zoo with the items rejected by customers literally in piles outside the fitting room. Okay, that made it hard to check for other sizes but it's a big sale, so things are going to get crazy. I asked the sales person if I could look through the go-backs and she made some discouraging remark (not rude-just like she didn't think I would have any luck) and walked off. Okay. No offer to help, but again this is a busy day and she looks tired so I understand. I couldn't find my size in a pricy pair of jeans so I bought the next size down and hoped for the best as they were closing. The jeans didn't work out so we hurried back the next day to return them along with other merchandise because you only have 3 days to return the special sale priced items. My aunt and I were at the counter doing her return when my mom comes over with the same jeans I had but in the correct size. I am thrilled! I ask the sales lady if I can exchange them for the correct size. She says sure...but you have to pay the difference. What difference? Same jeans exactly. Same manufacturer, same style, same markdown on the ticket. She explained that since I bought them at the sale price, despite the only difference being one size down, I would have to pay double for the correctly sized item. What? I couldn't believe it, so she checked with another sales person. Yes, I am told this is their policy. I can't understand why they choose to alienate their customers with this inflexible policy. Most stores happily allow even exchanges with regard to size differences. It is particularly irritating given how much we shopped there this holiday season to realize they don't have any concern for their customers at all. Way to lose customers, guys. Silly people don't understand that places like Dillard's have KILLER clearance sales all the time on nice designer brands like Michael Kors, Coach, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein. The town center location is the best in Jacksonville in my opinion because it's the largest and offers the widest variety of items and brands. This location for example is the ONLY location in Jacksonville that has a selection of Hugo Boss stuff other than suits and ties. And those sales I mentioned? I've gotten boss jeans as cheap as $30/pair. Not bad considering their out of sale price is generally upwards of 130-150. read more
