This morning, I experienced poor customer service when I attempted to return merchandise from the New Year Sale. I stopped at the register in the purses because it was closest to the parking area and I was on my way to work. The lady at the register told me since it was women's clothing, I had to go upstairs to return. I told her that I was in a hurry as I was stopping in on my way to work. She explained I had to return merchandise to the correct department. I didn't want to waste time arguing, so I went upstairs. I had 6 women's items and 2 men's items. I stopped at the register and was the 2nd in line. Although the clerk was helping someone else, she looked at my bag and asked "What do you need?" Her tone was curt but I know that sometimes people don't mean anything and that is their way to speaking. I answered "I have a return." She lift it her nose and said "You can do that somewhere else". I answered "I want to do it here". This time, she flexed her wrist and looked down her nose pointed me across the floor and said "go over there, there is some else over there. See them?" Her attitude and tone made me feel like she was scatting a dog so I said, "I don't want to go over there. I want to return it here. If I was buying it, you would not send me somewhere else" And then she did a thumbs up. The customer in front of me turned around and said "She did that to me too." When it was my turn, she was very disdainful, picking things up with the tips of her fingers and said "I have to check that there is nothing wrong with the merchandise." I responded, "I am returning it because I changed my mind.". When she got to the men's items, she looked down her nose and said, "This is men's". I answered "yes it is". "They have to check it to see if anything is wrong." I was really fuming by then and wanted to leave. But I wanted to finish returning the items. I answered "The shirts are still folded and have the pins in them, but if someone needs to look at them, please go ahead because I need to get to work". She finished ringing me up and never said another word to me, even as I left. I placed a call to the store and a manager by the name of Steve took my call and apologized. I have shopped at Dillard's for years and have spent countless of tens of thousands of dollars at their stores! My mother purchased some items out of state for me that did not fit. I attempted to EXCHANGE not return them today and was told no. The items still have original tags and stickers and are in perfect shape. They even still have tons of the same product there, so it's not like they are discontinued. They did not even attempt to ask a manager. Upon leaving in frustration a security guard accused me of stealing the pants that I walked into the store with! Little did they know along with the exchange I needed to purchase SEVERAL other new items due to my recent weight loss!! Don't go to this Dillard's unless you want to be treated rudely and then accused of stealing after you have already been treated rudely! read more

I like Dillard's and when things are on sale they are very on sale but the regular price items are definitely higher than local competitors. I went to Dillard's in New York and was wowed but it's just not a favorite store here in Texas. read more

I am not likely to return to Dillard's after my experience. There were very few people on the floor and I only receive any help once. I really needed more. Very little was labeled and I had trouble finding what I was looking for. While they had a massive selection, it was nearly impossible to find what I was looking for because it wast organized in any meaningful way. When I was approached by someone, they weren't there to help me. They were there to push cologne. And they ventured far from the cologne section to do so. The people who work here so unfriendly. Getting someone to come out from be hind a register is almost impossible. I've tried shopping for gifts for my wife, but I won't bother coming back to Dillard's. This was a waste of time! I Waited for 20 minutes and there's two guys working there. The place had nobody there. Not one of them even acknowledged me. Guy walked right past me and didn't say anything, but three other customers walk into the same area as I was and he greeted them and told them where to look for the sales! Ridiculous!! A week ago lost a pair of prescription sunglasses at Dillards. I called and asked them to look and I described them very clearly. I was told they couldn't (wouldn't) check to see if my sunglasses were there because there were 'so many'. Three days prior, there were only 4 pair - none of them prescription. I've been shopping at Dillard's for decades and always ha a good experience. I recently decided to buy a leather living room set so went to Dillard's and bought a Natuzzi set. The salesman assured me of its quality as a "protected" high grade leather. When the furniture arrived at my home the chair was uneven so we returned it immediately, as we were waiting for that peace to come, we noticed that The letter was stretching very quick which made the furniture look very "baggy" and used, also scratches started to show, something that is not supposed to happen in this quality of furniture. We called Dillard's and told them that we wanted to return the furniture, they told us that there would be a 15% restocking fee. We told them that were in disagreement in view of the poor quality of the furniture, they offered to send an independent inspector to asses the situation but failed to do it. We returned the furniture without the inspection and were charged over $300 as restocking. Dillard's is selling cheap Chinese furniture telling their clients to be high quality. I would strongly recommend not to buy furniture at Dillard's unless you don't mind ending with a lousy one. read more

Hands down this location is 1000 times better that the Post Oak location. This store features a much more vibrant environment and it's a lot newer. The service is definitely better! Here I walked into the men's show department and was met with five older gentlemen who were the coolest guys ever. At the Post Oak store you'll be lucky if they even look at you. The ladies in the men's clothing sections offered a very inviting environment one of them even introduced themselves to me and gave me an overview of the sale for the day. Props to her! I will definitely recommend this store and I will definitely return to do future shopping here. read more

Forget getting anything gift wrapped in a timely manner! First I was told it would take about 45 minutes for my purchases to be gift wrapped. Then after arriving at gift wrap over an hour later, I was told it would be at least an additional 1 1/2 hours. The clerk in gift wrap was very rude and the assistant manager didn't seem to care about my unpleasant experience. I will not shop here again!! read more

I bought my daughter a very expensive strapless bra to wear with her bridesmaid dress. I went to Dillard's expecting assistance from the sales staff. The 1 person in the department ignored us until it was time to pay. We were told we could return the bra within 30 days. The bra was never taken out of the bag & all tags were still on when I tried to return it. My daughter had not touched it since it was bought. I was told I could not return it due to a "stain". It was a tiny mark We had not even noticed. It must have been there when we bought it. I am very disappointed in the poor customer service at Dillard's. I will not shop there again. Dillard's has been, for many years, my "go to" store for clothing and even furnishings, but not any more! In November, 2013, I placed an order for a custom-made bed from the "Hooker" furniture catalogue.. The item was to take 8-10 weeks, which was okay. When I placed the order, I had a 10% off coupon which was to be credited to the price. They could not ring up the sale at the time - but had to wait for delivery. No problem! At the end of the 10 weeks, the item was in and I scheduled delivery. I went to the store to ring up the sale, but encountered all kinds of hassle getting the 10% credit. It took me over an hour with the salesperson after twice being hung up on her end by the credit department. She had to get it all handled the next day! We finally finished the paperwork and I arranged for delivery. To my surprise and disappointment, the bed was NOT the one I ordered! 10 Weeks for nothing!! I refused the bed, and sent it back. Now a week later, they have STILL not credited my account with the cost of the bed. The sales staff, of course, is blaming it all on the furniture-maker, saying they ordered the correct item, but the wrong item was made by Hooker and delivered. They also blame all the credit mess on the credit company who finances Dillard's accounts, GE Credit. At this point I don't care whose fault it is -- it is Dillard's responsibility I feel that they have in place vendors and credit people who should facilitate a smooth process. This is not rocket science -- just good business practices and procedures!! I have bought high-end furniture from them before -- but NO MORE! Dillard's has lost a loyal customer and I am once again reminded that the quality of service and "customer-care" today is a thing of the past. While the sales personnel were helpful and apologetic for all the hassle, it doesn't change the outcome. Look for other retail furniture providers before you deal with Dillard's. "Buyer Beware" should be part of Dillard's logo. read more

Horrible! The sales people are like the wild west. I called from the First Colony mall and a woman was supposed to put some shoes on hold for me. I drove there all the way from Sugar Land and the guys that were working there could not find my shoes on hold. I asked for a manager and they refused to get a manager; it took my husband coming in the store and 40 minutes later for them to get a manager and in the meantime the computers shut down because the store was closing. Alsoa rude African American womanwas disrespectful to me and my family. She was mumbling under her breath about us to another customer. I have never felt so low and embarrassed. I would not have driven there if I had known that my shoes were not on hold; they claim another employee put the shoes on hold and hid them yet she went home the reason she hid them is because she wanted the sale. How crazy is that hiding shoes?! The woman i spoke to on the phone could have told me she was leaving before i drove there! Horrible customer service horrible way to treat people. is it just me or do all Dillard's have the rudest ignorant people working for them, I bought a nice gift and asked them if they can wrap it nice, the lady wrapped it in with a plastic bag and bagged it in another bag, I immediately asked to return it and took my business to Macy's and when I asked the lady to please wraps it as a gift, she put it in a nice box and beautiful Macy's gift bag, I am pleased to say I am now a true believer in Macy's superiority over Dillard's. read more
