Tried to visit on a Saturday at 12:45 (well within their published hours of 10-2), but shop appears to be closed for the day. There is a sign, hours posted & can see through the window there is stock, but it's not clear if this is truly a shop or just a storage locale for their online presence since they aren't open as expect. The older reviews & the description made it sound like a perfect spot for moms to get some decent deals and also donate to those in need. Hoping this was just an off day? So we came out here for the picture along the back wall of the building but we also, wanted to potentially support the business. When you come inside, it's a very cute resale shop for young children and maternity. The items were very cute but the prices were a bit high in my opinion for resell. I really like this resale shop! They have great baby/kids clothes selection from the fancier brands (Janie & Jack, baby/kids Gap, mini boden, etc). The best deal I've found are brand new Trumpette socks in box and not a crazy print for half the retail price, and we all know that brand never goes on sale. They also have stock of baby gear like Ergobaby, baby bjorn, and Maclaren strollers. To keep tabs of their latest inventory, my tip is to follow them on Instagram. There's pretty frequent uploads of what customers have brought in to sell. The maternity section can be a miss some times but sometimes it's on fire. Last year, I found many pairs of Paige and Joe's maternity jeans in great condition for about $50. I bought a Max & Cleo maternity dress for $20. The owner is soooo nice and truly cares about helping you find what you need. And if she doesn't have what you need at the moment, she makes suggestions of where you can find it. They periodically have $2 sales so be sure to watch their social media accounts for the announcements. I got my daughter a Polo Ralph Lauren dress for $2 because of that sale! I was looking to sale some GREAT gently used maternity items. A huge lot several items still had tags on them, others I only wore once or twice. Short sleeve, sleeveless, shorts, dresses skirts and business attire. I called and asked what brand of items they took, the lady who responded said we take all brands. (Because of the area I was concerned about motherhood and it not being from"pea in a pod") Took the hour (one way drive) based on my phone conversation and their appointment availability. Got to the store early for my appointment unloaded my massive lot of clothing, was told it'd be about 45 minutes to look through (ok fine). After not even 10 minutes I got a call saying my items were not what they were looking for. (NONE OF IT) Keep in mind I already stated above I have a ton of summer items.... I get back to the store and I ask why my items did not meet what they were looking for. "Well these items are just not what we are looking for, we are looking for summer items and this is just too winter weather items". I stated I called and asked the question directly to the person who answered my call and she simply stated "it's on our website" well.... I CALLED AND ASKED YOU CHOSE NOT TO DISCLOSE YOUR PREFERENCE ON BRANDS. I never knew Motherhood maternity was in such low taste and ghetto... Although your maternity selection is the smallest I have ever seen along with your boys items which I did have HUNDREDS OF IN NEW CONDITION with tags and better than what you were offering..... I'm not in your selective high profile price range evidently and won't waste my time driving back to your small less than impressive store (as far as selection for boys items and maternity items are concerned) You need to understand women that use maternity wear. We don't want evening gowns, $200 dollar jeans and $100 dollar shirts and shorts. We need comfortable affordable good quality items. This store is looking for high end items only. So please note that if your going to sale make sure you only take high end expensive items because they will make sure to waste your time by stating over the phone they do not exclude brands, but they do. read more

From GAP to Janie and Jack, there is a wide range of clothing and price points. This baby consignment shop is adorable! Be aware that the location has moved and is now behind Langford Market, still easy to find though. I found some of the inventory overpriced for used apparel and gear but much less than what you would pay for full retail price. I did see two Mamaroos, both about $60 more than what is selling on Craigslist. Because I'm either crazy or brave, the gender of my baby is a surprise so I couldn't buy much this past trip; however, I did leave with an Aden + Anais blanket in pristine condition for $14. Cute boutique store, but just know that you're paying for everything as if it's NEW even tho it's SECOND HAND. Its nice if you wanna shop for the convenience of staying in the neighborhood or recycle clothes for the environment, but know that if you go to the Galleria area you'll find similar items brand new for same prices (or better if there's a sale) at GAP, Nordstrom Rack, and even Nordstrom. I'd give it 5 stars if the prices were even somewhat reasonable. read more

We have been going to thread since 2013 each season to trade in items and look for new finds. The selection is well curated, unlike other consignment shops. I was appalled at the prices for used baby clothing. Seriously, save your time, it would be cheaper to buy the same clothes new. If you want to pay $79 for a USED dress or $30 for a pair of USED Janie & Jack pants then this is your store. I'd rather shop at the fancy boutiques when they have sales (which is all the time) and buy my clothes for the SAME price new. I bought my diaper bag NEW for $200. My family and I always go to the Heights area on Sundays, and I love stopping by at Thread. It has the most beautiful pieces of clothing and unique things that I end up buying a lot for my twin toddlers and even gifts for my nephews. Oh, did I mention that I can go to this place and buy my favorite doTerra oils with out waiting for an "order"- they have plenty in stock-well at least my go to favorite ones. I love this store! I get tons of cute, high end clothes for my girl from here and at a reasonable price! It doesn't hurt that the shop has lots of (very clean) toys for my LO to play with while I shop. Their "Sunshine" wall is also a must see and a great place to snap some pics. I can't comment on the baby or children's clothing but I came in to check out the maternity clothing not long ago. Everything was super out of season and I didn't understand why there were so many winter pieces. It makes no sense to have winter clothes when it's summer in Houston and most women don't even need maternity clothes until their second trimester. There were some really expensive items for a resale shop (to be fair they were brands like a pea in a pod). I would have rather seen more decently priced items since it's only clothing you wear for a few months. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for awhile on this place. I went to the grand opening a few yrs ago---not impressed. The staff was cliquish and unfriendly. They were standing around not talking or welcoming anyone they didn't know. I tried it again several more times (I do personal shopping for a few clients), most recently a couple of weeks ago. Service was almost nonexistent and I still felt a snobbish attitude from the employees. I guess these people aren't trying to attract the general public. What a disappointment. Things are very overpriced too. You can find the same quality of items brand new, on sale---you just need to be a savvy shopper. read more

I brought in many items for resell and I counted 20 items that were accepted ... all higher end items such as Burberry , Zara and true religion. I browsed around the store to see other other items and none were really high end and were priced pretty expensive... dresses $40 etc. I am curious to see what they will resell my Burberry items for. They offered me $83 for everything... i think it's because I am African American. They were never friendly towards me. Do not bring your clothes there if you are not white... you will not get offered a fair price. They obviously needed the come up. read more

Neat place but the prices are way too high for used goods. For example, Aden & Anais swaddles are sold here for $8-15 each. Brand new they are about $8.75 each when you buy a pack of 4 for $34.95 from Amazon. We noted that this pattern continued throughout the store. While we like to support small/local shops there has to be a reason like above average knowledge of the products or reasonably competitive prices. Sadly, I see no reason to shop here. read more
