I have been a big critic of DigitalPath in the past. But recently after talking to their tech support department and working with them on an issue I had and dealing with the technician that came to install my new antenna I think their service is getting better. The internet isn't very reliable though. But if you have an issue and actually call them I do believe they will do what they can to fix the issue. My opinion of them has certainly changed. read more

I used Digital path for over 10 years and have been very happy with the service. I publish a magazine and do a radio show so I am sending large files a lot, and they have been invaluable to my business. On occasions when we have a connection problem, I have found their tech guys to be on the ball and always have handled any problems fast. Our home & offices burnt to the ground in the Bear Fire, and they are re-installing all new gear at no cost to me, which I consider to be a nice touch, and I look forward to many years of service as we rebuild! read more

I'm updating my review because the tree climbers, Matt and Richard came today and like I said before, they were amazing. These two know what they're talking about and were able to finally fix the issue after 13 phone calls to the main office, as well as a visit in person. If I was rating just these two guys, I'd give 5 stars but since it took the company 51 days to get someone here to fix it, I just can't give 5 stars yet. I am happy though to have my service back. I think this is a tough business guaranteeing a solid connection, sometimes miles from the tower, and we've had our share of issues with the DP link, even over the few months we've had it. BUT, everyone I've worked with has been friendly, easy to understand, and as helpful as they could be. Today the bar was raised when Sterlie and Craig showed up and completely reworked the installation, trimmed some branches, ran a new cable, and so far it's looking MUCH better (judging from ping tests I did before and after). Sterlie was enthusiastic and committed to solving the problems whatever it took, and it looks like he may of done that! Interestingly, the package with this new gen 7 dish is over double the speed, supposedly more reliable with disconnects, and even cheaper! Keeping my fingers crossed but so far so good. read more

I'm so sorry to anyone who doesn't have a choice but them, but I would avoid service and just use my cell phone Hotspot rather than this ISP. All this company does is take Comcast internet and spit it out wirelessly through repeaters and routers literally all over the place. So we have had DigitalPath for almost 10 months, our bill is over $200 which would be ok because we use a lot of internet if it did not constantly shut off or have speeds around 3mbps when I PAY FOR 10!!! It typically shuts off 3-5 times a day and when you call in to try and some help getting it fixed they ask you if you restarted it and if you did they then proceeded to treat you like your a moron! Last week for example my internet would drop of every few hours to bellow 3mbps and when I call they would say it's my fault I actually went out and bought a router so I could shut everything off from my WiFi so they would stop saying that and they still freaking say it!!! I'm not stupid I know when my internet is being used and when it's not stop treating me like crap and stop ripping me off! Also they told me when I signed up it would run my whole surveillance system, that was a lie!!! They told me it wouldn't drop off, I specifically asked because that was an issue with our previous provider and they guaranteed me it wouldn't, they lie to get you in then lock you into a 1 year contract and then your internet turned to garbage and then the verbally abuse you when you call in and get upset that it doesn't work! Yes , when"I" contacted customer service I was offered a resolution which was what I originally wanted. I was asked to go on yelp and comment that the issue was resolved and I agreed, However, I didn't say when. I AM GIVING DIGITAL PATH TIME FOR FOLLOW THROUGH. See that has been our problem all along. Sometimes, and only with customer service, DigitalPath says one thing and does another. Digital path could have called me about yelp and spared me having to respond to them jumping the gun. I have been with DigitalPath for a few years now, it's been a long and frustrating few years. The people are great with the exception of the tech I talked to yesterday, I don't know if he was having a bad day or is just a miserable person but the call sucked.. just like their internet. It was great for the first month or so but since then it won't stay connected and it's so slow that nothing will load. We have talked to tech support, they have come to the house and we have spent a ridiculous amount of money on new electronics. They keep saying the problem is fixed but the "fix" only lasts until they leave the driveway then it's right back to constant drops. Apparently talking to a supervisor is not an option either, as I found out yesterday. If you can AVOID DigitalPath then save yourself and DO IT!! Unfortunately, they are one of the only providers that serve the area so they get to get away with this HORRIBLE SERVICE! First appointment was scheduled 2 weeks out. The tech arrives and then tells me the service I need is a different install so we will have to reschedule. They then reschedule me another 3 weeks out. The tech arrives to then tell me another story about how they can't use their provider at my house (due to me being the only house on the panel and they can't turn on a panel for one house) so he removes my equipment that the previous owner had used (I asked how it worked for them) and he said they must have been connected on a portion of the panel and that's not allowed. So here we are 4 weeks out still without service. Then the service manager calls me to tell me that the tech messed up and was looking at the wrong panel and they actually can install service. But wait for it, I now have to wait another 1 week to get a tech out. I've mentioned several times I WORK FROM HOME WITH NO OTHER OPTION. INSTEAD I PAY FOR THEIR MESS UP-- not once or twice, but THREE times. Why they don't have someone survey the area first to make sure everything is in ORDER. I have NO CLUE! It doesn't stop there... I asked to speak to a supervisor several times, they never connect me to her, and tell me she works from home today and she'll get back to me when she can. We are so happy with Digital Path, Inc. as are my neighbors who highly recommended the company to us. We live at Lake Almanor and had Frontier Cable which became outdated and cables were constantly failing. We switched to 2 other companies with marginal service before signing up with Digital Path. Service is great! My husband is an attorney and is on his computer conducting business continually. He also FaceTimes with clients for hours. Rarely is there any problem connecting. If we have any kind of problem, there is a technician who lives in Chester, that comes out to service us. We live in So Cal and are used to fast internet service and we do not expect things to be the same speed at the Lake, however all of my kids and husband use their phones, computers and stream movies and no one is sighing or complaining about the slow internet, because it works great! I think because that's the case for a lot of people in rural areas they provide less than stellar service. My internet goes out literally every 15 minutes and I've called customer service and they just told me to unplug the router and I have to do this atleast 3 times a day and it does not help. Using the hotspot on my phone works better than digital path. When they came out about a Year ago they said they will be updating the system soon but haven't done any of that. We live in a rural area and are 10 miles away from the tower our dish shoots to, which is at the outer edge of receiving digital path service. I have to say that poor internet signal typically goes along with living in rural area. When there is a clear shot to the tower, digital path works well! Weather conditions and tree growth (obstacles) hinder that signal. I gave five stars because the staff at digital path are always very helpful in trying to resolve any problem we have. It was downright pleasant talking with the guy on the phone as he tried to resolve our issues from his end. Recently, they sent out two guys to adjust the dish in our tree. Sterly and Craig were especially hardworking. They showed up on time, were respectful and friendly, and climbed extra high in our tree to assure our signal wouldn't be interrupted anytime soon by a neighbor's growing tree (placed it twenty feet higher at almost the tip top of our tree). Since installing DigitalPath, we pull 9mbs or more with a 300GB soft data cap instead of 50. We also like that when we call, we get a live person in Chico instead of someone in India. This is the absolute worst possible choice you can make in regards to an internet provider. Their service is often down and unavailable, and when it is up, the speeds are a fraction of what they charge you for. Support seems so be amiss in regards to fixing any issues, but from what I can gather from the numerous calls I have made to them, they are unhappy with the substandard equipment being used. This is a pig in a poke that I would compare to someone trying to run an internet service in their garage trying to sell everyone the same product multiple times, they are a complete and utter joke. If you have any other options, I would urge you to go another route as this would be the worst choice you could possibly make. Uhhhh, ever heard of customer service, guys? It's something where you're nice to the people that pay your wages and you try to help them out wherever you can. You say you've never heard of it? Yeah, I sort of figured. After about 5 calls, my internet is still down/spotty. And they weren't nice about it. In fact, the first call I made, the person who answered sounded like I was inconveniencing him. Sort of like, "Digital Path. How can I help you." Hmmm, written down that didn't look so bad. But it was the TONE. Then I was put on hold for a long time while he "checked my service". I was then told I would get a call back while they troubleshot. Never got that call. Called again, repeated cycle. Called again, repeated cycle. So now it's four days later and my internet is still down and out for 90% of the day. Apparently they don't have any sympathy for a woman who has exams that need to be taken online and emails to admissions coordinators that need to be sent. And a LOT of hulu all queued up. If I didn't have my iPhone, I would be in big trouble (yes, you can access Blackboard from an iphone, and I've figured out how to print from it, too). My nice, damsel in distress act just wasn't working and I'd already lost my temper with some poor airline dude that was rude to me a month ago, so I'm tapped out. I've been a digital path customer for over 5 years now. Their service has gotten steadily worse over time. I paid $100 each for 2 "tree climbing" antenna placements, only to be finally told that I didn't need either one. Though I paid for 10MB service, I never saw it reach over 6MB, in spite of many tech support and service calls. Last year, service was so bad that I complained until they sent a tech for a visit. That resulted in a new antenna and sporadic service and connection for October/November, and then zero service for December. No internet service. None. Now their new usage "plans" have a total usage cap, that you cannot gauge or monitor. Just one fine day you are switched to slower than dial-up speeds... And there's no way to know if it's (another) system failure or if you exceeded the cap. Today I spent over an hour on the phone with their Support Staff (2 calls). They tried different settings, and finally said "we don't know why it's so slow, must be radio interference at the tower, because we tested several other users and they all had the same slow-speed problem." Not that any of us had our service fixed, just that a problem exists. And no estimate for repair. If you have ANY choice other than Digital Path, take it. read more

We have used Digital Path for a long time guessing 8 years. We replaced Direct TV with live streaming thru a blu ray plaver. It has been so much better with a ton of more viewing stations etc. We have had excellent service support when its been needed. Professionals always! Office and billing department always friendly. We live in Dobbins. Saving money bundling internet with tv viewing. Plus so much more choices for less money! Highly recommended! !! read more

Their customer service is almost as bad as AT&T, and you know what THAT means. The contractor (non-employee) they sent to do the installation had no manners and was technically clueless. They installed equipment that seemed to work for a few weeks and then ultimately did not work. Rather than make it work, they gave up. I think in part this was because both the customer service and field people had no idea. Talk about an outfit that can't do anything right and doesn't care less. I ended up being out a few months of the cost of service for nothing and they didn't even bother to come get their equipment! How lame is that? There are a few others I know in the town nearby who CAN get service and while they advertise rates in the 10MB range, their network is incapable of running barely 1MB most of the time and the latencies can be well over 500ms. I cannot express enough how atrocious the service is. We pay an absurd amount for 10 mb download SOMETIMES. Our service gets cut for a day or two randomly at least 5 times a month and it becomes truly unusable. We also had no service at all for almost half of the month of august with no explanation or warning and when we call customer support (which is often) half of the time they have no idea why our service was cut. When we first got Digital Path it was pretty good for our area however in the last few months our internet stops working in the evenings. Between 6-9 pm until 7-8 am the next morning no internet. We've called to find out why we're paying $110 a month for internet that only works while we're at work and not in the evening when we might want to watch a movie, play a game, or surf the net. They told us it's because we're rural and they have to "slow" us down because of the demand. Sounds like a load of bull to me as our internet isn't slow it's nonexistent. Hard to imagine a less responsive company. 4 weeks ago I paid Digitalpath to have the antenna moved as the access point on Mt Hough has been problematic. Pointed me at another access point on Silver Circle. Speed looked good, but with a few days connection kept dropping out. 3 weeks of calling and the same technicians doing the same things and telling me its fine. Come Friday December 4th finally a technician can see how often I get kicked off. Internet now down totally. Tech suggested there may be a cable problem and for me to go check. Cables looked fine, however the new junction box they installed in my neighbors yard on the tree, was wide open to elements for the last 4 weeks. I created a yelp account JUST to write a review here. I am not someone who likes to toss negative information willy nilly. But the internet is THE most important medium in my life. I have tried this service for a month now and I've lost patience. I moved into my new place way out here in the sticks. The landlord provides a hookup. I plugged it right in and thought "hey! great! Instant internet access! No att, no comcast...ah, life is good here in the country" Well, almost immediately I felt the difference. Can you say slow? Dude, I keep expecting to hear the beeps and static from my modem back in 1994. Are you kidding me? I tried waiting it out, thinking something in my computer was off. After all, I had just moved and who knows what might have happened to my setup. But after 3 weeks of getting disconnected, glitchy movies on Netflix, slow downloads and going DAYS without internet because it was shut down, I've had it. If my landlord doesn't change this service I may actually be moving. Did you hear that Digital Path? I may be MOVING because of your crappy service. It's THAT. BAD. We had to wait the entire weekend when service shut down all together because they were closed all weekend. Are you kidding me?? What planet do you guys live on? This is 2013. And I haven't even attempted to call or talk to (what appears to be horrible) customer service. I'm strictly here to rant about the ACTUAL service, which is poor at best. But now that I read "Jim's" replies here on Yelp, I can see he doesn't get it. Will admit that it's not the best internet, sometimes it's great others not well at all, BUT in their defense I live way up in the mountains and Lucky to get internet at all and 100x better than Hughsnet (that was Nightmare). Also what I like about DigitalPath is the customer service, if you have a problem they get right on it and try to fix problems pretty quickly. Everyone is great but three that stand out to me, Kelsea West, Justin And Richard the tech/tree climber. We "upgraded" from the older, slower, but more reliable plan to the new Gen 7 plan. Up to 20 mbps, and the key words being "up to" as normally we see around 5mbps. That is not bad enough then we have a connection that cuts out, on average 5 times a day. I just got on this site because our service was just out and I have just about had enough. The tech guys are always helpful and reset us but who want to call tech 5 times a day. Freaking awful! We got Digital Path service in Chico and made the mistake of paying for a year. After a couple of weeks we were getting tired of the spotty internet service and Digital Path's inability to do anything about it. They kept promising that they were working on the problem and it would get better soon. Finally I spoke to a manager and she was completely rude. I told them I wanted my money back and I wanted to cancel the service and she basically said I was out of luck because I had paid a year in a advance. She said they could turn off my service but they don't EVER GIVE REFUNDS. Are you freaking kidding me???!!! I honestly don't know how these people are still in business. Had our system installed last Thursday and could not be happier. Great technician that was friendly and knowledgeable of the entire company. He let me know they do all of their work "in house." Looking forward to doing Skype with family in Anchorage and Ecuador. The price for entry level service was 8 cents more than our satellite with over seven times the usage allotment. We live in Geyserville, CA. We have been using Digital Path since 2012. Yelp gives them a crummy rating. That has not been our experience. The service is reliable. Speeds are as advertised. Since 2012 I can think of only two instances when I could not connect to the internet. In both cases, as soon as I called, a tech was able to diagnose the problem and fix it remotely. We have the Rural Express 10 service. Internet only. We share our connection with a neighbor. Our dish is mounted on our roof and pointed at Geyser Peak. We pay a small monthly fixed fee to have our neighbor share our service via a pair line-of-sight boxes installed at each house and maintained by Digital Path. It is fast enough for both families to be streaming movies at the same time. We split the bill 50-50. Our combined monthly charge is less expensive that other ISP options available in our community. I recommend Digital Path. read more

Terrible customer service, terrible uptime, awful packet-loss, and a pathetic infrastructure. They're motto, let's overload every relay with too many customers so that no one has decent connections. But it's ok we advertise our speeds as "up to" so they don't have any legal basis to complain, also since we service an area with no other internet who cares? Garbage tech support, shotty company, and pathetic ... well everything. For installation they had one of there reps come out who's basically third party and only works when contracted for this. He isn't given equipment by the company so all of his tools were garbage and because the company only supplies him with equipment from "salvage jobs" from customers who leave service he had to go through three different antennas before he had a working one. Customer service can't ever solve anything and has half the tech knowledge of a middle-schooler running all C's. Their hours are pathetic especially with such consistent down-times. If my work didn't require "fast" internet I'd settle for dial-up over this because of how awful this company really is. I can't even count the amount of clients I've lost money from because of inconsistent and unstable service. Luckily Plumas County one day will have Fiber since the line has already been run through, sadly I'll be long gone before everyone here can give this company the middle-finger. read more

Sterli and Kenny came to hook me up with internet so I can have cell phone service for my new home as well as ability to stream movies and such. They were so polite and super helpful. Kenny did an excellent job- he's a great tree climber. I've never seen someone go so fast. They were really good about communicating, but I bet it would be easier for them if they had walkie talkies. Sterli made sure I had the best signal and tested everything to make sure I was satisfied before the left. He also did an excellent job of concealing the cable so it isn't an eye sore. I would definitely recommend digitalpath to anyone who needs internet service. Pretty neat that they could mount a dish in my tree, it blend in and you can't even really see it's there. I wish I could give 0 stars. This is by far the WORST internet to have if you live in a rural area. Please save yourself the trouble and do not sign up with DigitalPath. They do not give a sh*t about their customers, even if you have been a customer for years. I am already paying so much a month and not able to use their internet majority of the time. And if I am able to use it some days, it is extremely slow! You would think if I'm already paying $112 a month I would at-least get some what close to the speeds I'm paying for but NO I am not. It is so crazy to me that I have to call tech support every other week because I am having to use my phone data hotspot to be able to work from home. Their excuses for this are also very ridiculous. For the last two years, I've been told that they aren't getting signals in the tower and that they're "working on it." The problem has only gotten worse, no one is working on it for customers out in the Sutter area. This week when I questioned them about the extra $3 up charge being added to our monthly fee, I was told that it was because they had to in order to maintain and add "newer technology" for customers. I asked them what customers are benefiting from this new technology and extra monthly charge if it is not for their long time customers such as myself and the rep was not able to give me an appropriate answer. Recently, I also discovered that I never was given email access to billing statements and the only way to know what I was being charged was from my credit card statement, which is also how I discovered the extra $3 a month that was being charged. When I finally retrieved email login information from them, the only billing statement available to me from all these years of being a customer was from Nov 2021. There were no billing statements or old emails in archive folders or inbox besides the NOV billing statement. I am now going to take these complaints to Better Business Bureau because complaining to DigitalPath for so long has accomplished nothing. I also want to know how up charging every few months to a year is benefiting all the customers of Digital Path when nothing has changed with the quality of service we are receiving. My experience was not good. Evenings (impossible) steaming netflix (Impossible) utube evenings (impossible). This internet service can be very costly if you need internet that works to make stock trades or do other time sensative dealings, don't risk it. I could barely even shop online, at I was unable to finish my transaction without it timing out on a page, couldn't go to my bank website to do important things. At the end I was staying up late just to get stuff done. What I did do today was get a new service provider and I can't wait for Monday to make the call to have them remove their equipment! And, the irony is that I just posted this without any trouble. I tried a few days ago when I was on digital path's service and it just spun and timed out OVER AND OVER AND OVER. read more
