My roommates and I contacted CB Properties in October 2016 and filled out their applications…read more We had to do a little paperwork to verify income but they walked us through the process and they were extremely patient and helpful. We had to find a place by the end of November that had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fenced in backyard and would accept pets. The ladies at CB were diligent, kind, understanding and never gave up on trying to find us a home. I am happy to say that we will be moving into our new place 11-26-16 and our new place is more than we could have hoped for for approximately the same rent we are now paying for a 2 bedroom 1 bath place. I have previously been a landlord/property manager and I know the process. Even if you have a good application the owner of the property may like someone else over your application and the looking, finding and getting approved by an owner can be very very frustrating. I have read the negative feedback on here regarding CB Properties and I have to say that I did not find my experiences to be anywhere near what those folks have reported. I always figure you get treated the way you treat other people. I would highly recommend this company and the ladies who work there!!! They worked a miracle for me and my roommates!

I know this place as Select Property Management in Paradise, CA. The apartment I've been living in…read morefor almost 18 years was sold to the Sandgren Brothers (Eric and Brian) in Yuba City, CA in January 2024. Kim Black runs the property management and her sidekick, C.J. Zarback, a realtor from Chico, CA, does her dirty work, that is, handing out "notices of termination" which he carefully explains are not "evictions." Nevertheless, I have to leave here by 9/10/2024. C.J. tried to sneak the "notice of termination" on my door quietly on 7/11/24, but I caught him at it. When I told him I had nowhere to go and no money to get there he pursed his rosebud lips and made his beady little eyes (fake) sad and trilled, "I'm s-oo-rr-rrr-eee-ee!" Yeah, I'm sure he is, but I'm turning 80 in November and I'll probably be spending my birthday on the street. I'm gloating about a couple things, tho'. There are things wrong with this place that are so expensive and difficult to repair that they're going to have fun fixing them. However, if you want people who are greedy, money grubbing and soulless then they should be given Four Stars!

In my case, I had just learned my party was leaving the country & I just recieved their adress. I…read moreneeded to serve someone in their home city on a Thursday night and if I had no luck, I needed another process server to serve the person in a entirely different city on Friday. The urgency was that the person was leaving the country on Saturday. I called several process servers in both cities and had difficulty getting a response. Though I worked with a very responsive server in the city for Friday and I paid him (as it was getting late, 5p, on Thursday and I wasn't getting any calls back about serving the party on Thursday... Even the butte county sheriff's office neglected for an entire two weeks to call me back) eventually Amber from AW Legal services called me back. I was frustrated that I had lost the money (due to the lack of responsiveness from several places in Chico) from paying the other processor for the Friday job. However once Amber called, we discussed the entire process, the identification information, and her pricing. I had a fee waiver for the county, but you can't use it if they never call you back so I was happy to find that Amber's pricing is extremely reasonable!!! I made the payment and I advised the Friday process server (in the Friday city), right away, that I might be able to get it done that evening (with AW Legal) but the chances were slim. He told me to let him know if I got it done. Shocked as all get out, Amber, with only basic address info (wasn't 100% sure about the way the apartment # was written) managed to serve the party within two hours. But here's the icing on the cake... My paralegal had multiple misscommunications with myself & Amber in regards to getting the original paperwork from Amber so that it could be delivered to the court. Eventually, I had to cut out the middle man and (2 weeks after service) ask Amber to please send it directly to me. She paid out of her pocket to overnight it to me. This act alone deserves five stars! I was extremely thankful. Amber will send you simple smile emojis, one word answers, and she's not very verbose in her texts (Lol) but she gets to the point, will get the job done, quickly, and correctly. And she is the type that will stick with you until it is done! I couldn't have been happier with her kindness, her commitment to completing the job, her relaxed nature (at a time that is stressful to her clients), and her professionalism.
