This is a great small business. I stopped in here to look over some options for a new computer since my Macbook Pro is starting to get a bit old. I was thinking of buying an iMac but was wary about plonking down 1500-2700 dollars on a new computer. Since Digicomp is on my way to work I stopped in several times over the course of several months to check out what prices they have on refurbished computers. I spoke with the guys there about the sort of computer I'm looking for and they gave me a price on 4-5 of them, eventually settling down on a mid-range priced model. They told me flat out I didn't need the higher priced version since I don't do video or sound editing. So I settled on an iMac 27" for less than a thousand dollars. Not only did they throw in a keyboard and mouse also (and installed a few nice pieces of software for free too!), but the owner even drove me home since my wife has the car this week and it was ridiculous to uber just a few blocks. Top-notch customer service with none of those high-pressure sales tactics. These guys seem to genuinely like their customers. So if you're looking to try out a mac but aren't look to spend thousands of dollars on the latest models, definitely check this place out. They have a lot of desktops and laptops to chose from, and good selection of accessories. Will definitely be coming here for all my computer-related needs. read more

I purchased an Apple 45W MagSafe Power Adapter from David for about $50 (great under market price) at the end of December 2018. I brought the charger power adapter back to David in perfect condition with the packaging about 2 weeks later, January 2019, and we made a verbal agreement that he would issue me a refund. In good faith, I left the power adapter at Digicomp as I was asked to come back to receive my refund. After days had past by without hearing back from David, I called to follow up. David was very rude and unprofessional and I was denied my refund. I am completely disappointed in the way that I this transaction was handled as I've done business with David in the past and it was a pleasant experience. Overall, I would have simply appreciated it if David would have just handled things professionally by issuing the refund on the spot like most businesses so as a result I will never do business with a non-authorized Apple Store dealer again! read more

If I could, I'd give less than one star. I gave David (the owner) repeated business. He seemed like a nice guy & I prefer to support local businesses than major corporations. His business ethics, however, were totally twisted. After I initially purchased my laptop from him & sold him my old one (for parts), he said the data would all be transferred when it was ready for pick up. It was not. I found random files missing & had to go back, only to have him & his partner make jokes about the photos they looked through on my computer. (I am a professional model & to have known these guys were oogling over lingerie photos & to make me feel incredibly violated because of it was beyond inappropriate). I also had given him a perfectly good large monitor to sell for me on commission. When I called to see if he'd sold it yet six months later, he said he'd THROWN IT AWAY! He now won't accept my calls (thanks to caller ID) to collect the money he owes me. I've since begun going to MacPro-LA on Cahuenga... These guys are the real professionals. I'd never recommend anyone going to Digicomp ever again. read more

My first time here, I came by with a cracked screen, they were very friendly as soon as i walked in the store. They gave me a quote for a new screen and repair. Even went out their way to pick up the new screen for me to have my Mac book by the end of the day. David even waited for me to come pick up after the store was closed. First of all, I'm all about little neighborhood stores. I'd rather be able to work with someone locally and pay the tax, rather than have to ship back and forth. Digicomp at first seemed really nice BUT each time I have worked with them, either with a repair or purchase -- there is one price to start and then a nasty surprise. They do hook you up with some stuff here and there but the tacked on fees are ridiculous. Recent example: Apple Powerbook G4 laptop was priced at $447. Of course I was greatly interested at that price. When I went to pick it up, it was now $555 because they had to put in a new hard drive and it was much bigger. If it is on the little shelf with a little piece of paper with the info on it AND it had a price -- it would be my assumption that the unit has been tested by this point and this is the price. It amazes me that the guy thinks its OK to tack on about $100 and use the excuse that it hadn't been tested yet, blah blah blah. After I purchased it -- it crashed 3 times on the first day. The second day it wouldn't turn back on at all and then later that night it would turn on but infinitely looking for the operating system and folder for hard drive. Then it booted up but crashed the next day. I called and was able to get come in and get a refund which hasn't appeared yet on my bank statement. I hope it does. These guys seem nice but are SHYSTERS. I vaguely recall something similar happened when repairing my desktop. You think its one price and then SURPRISE! Not cool. Do not shop here. read more

cannot agree enough with PickyconsumerZ ... I bought my G5 tower at Digicomp a couple of years ago and it has been one problem after another. Each time I have had to yell and scream and freak out to get them to drop fees for this and that. This last problem has been the most annoying, $75 for a diagnostic when I told them exactly what was wrong (and I was right) then they tell me they will do my data migration overnight so I waste my morning waiting for them to open only to find they haven't done it yet. The worst part was finding out I could have purchased a terrabyte drive for pennies more than I got 250 gigs there. Adding insult to injury they simply overcharged me by "just a couple of bucks" at the register almost just "because" ... argh! read more

So...."BEST BUY"....not always the "BEST BUY"......my computer crashed/ died/ hardrive basically gone. I took it to Best buy but it would have taken days for them to get to it and I'm sure it would have been double the price. David (the owner of Digicomp) was VERY nice, super inexpensive, and thorough.....he even added word, excel, and a bunch of other things. I brought him a DEAD computer and hours later....it is better than before It had crashed. You can tell the guy (and his assistants) really know what they are doing. MY FAVORITE COMPUTER REPAIR SHOP! I love Digicomp! After spilling water into my MacBook, I brought it in and met Nancy, who examined the problem immediately. I had fried the main board, but Nancy was able to salvage all of my data from the hard drive. She made my drive into an external drive and gave me THE BEST price on a used MacBook similar to mine. I've just read every review on yelp of this shop. First I'd like to say I've been doing business with David and Digicomp for over 10 years. If they were still in there marquee location next to Coffee Bean on sunset, a lot of these complaints would probably not exist. Now that the shop is in a little strip mall the aesthetic appeal, or lack there of, causes people to have doubts. However, I know for a fact; the reason the shop was moved was simply to offer better pricing to his customers. They are small hard working shop with minor profit margins. After purchasing 8 machines from this place (2 for my mom I can tell you that I've had not one problem with any I the computers I bought here. Neither have any of the 5 people I brought there to buy computers. In addition David has provided 100% support and on any occasion when I have questioned our transaction or taken issue David has proven me wrong in my query. I notice most of the people who have complaints don't seem to know much about computers and are mad about tasks (as users) they should have done themselves. Several one star reviews from people who seem more driven by emotion and ideas than fact. This shop has some of the best prices on used machines around. One complaint I read was a person mad about a new hard drive being installed in a 5-6 year old machine. That's just a stupid complaint. A hard drives fail rate is 100%; here he's turning a used machine into a more reliable system. People who complain about data loss. GET IT TOGETHER! Manage you own data. Anyone asking a store to back up their personal data....Is just a fool. Give this store a shot. Especially if you know computers. You'll be well taken care of. read more
