But I recently took my old I mac in for service 'cause it was in the troughs of its final breaths..The new Owner Tony (what a nice guy) assed my computer and we determined it was best to say Adios to my old beloved Imac I purchased a newer used IMAC from Tony (which runs great ) he recovered and downloaded all my data from the onboard hard drive and jacked the internal memory up so it can handle my lightroom and Photoshop needs...all for a very reasonable price..about 1/3 of the cost of buying a new one..fine by me!!! I recently cracked the screen on my month-old laptop. Initially I went to Best Buy and was told the price would be upwards of $220 and take 2-3 week to be fixed. the next day I called several computer repair businesses and found the turnaround time to complete the work would around 3 days and cost over 200 dollars, one place quoted me for over $400 dollars!!!! I've owned Mac's since the very first one in 1984! Most of the Mac's that I've purchased in the last 2 decades, I've gotten from Digicomp. I haven't been to a dedicated Apple store in years. I recently called about replacing my older desk top because it was slowing down. Anyone else would have tried to get me to buy a new one. Instead they suggested all I needed was a new hard drive a lot less. That's what customer service is. Not trying to get your money no matter what. Better late than never to leave a review! They fixed my broken screen in 1 day and charged me less than Apple was going to for it! The only thing is to make sure to ask for a receipt of the estimate before you leave your product because they don't automatically give it. I've been a customer of David's for about 6 years, now, but my recent experience solidifies Digicomp as the only place I'll go to for my Mac needs! I ended up breaking the screen on my 2010, 15" MacBook Pro to a point that was arguably beyond repair. However, just 30 mins after dropping it off at Digicomp, David called to inform me it was ready, and once I picked it up, it was nearly good as new. I also needed the battery replaced in that same MacBook; David gave me a used, slightly newer one than the original, free of charge! Sadly, I discovered that that one wasn't quite up to snuff, and I asked David to order a brand new battery. Upon discovering that THAT one also didn't hold a long charge (likely due to my computer's old age), David agreed to give me a refund on the brand-new battery, no questions asked. I probably should have written this review a long time ago. I have been a customer of David's for nearly 20 years and have purchased countless computers from him for my businesses. He is always friendly, courteous and warm. Truly a good guy. Whenever I need a computer to replace an aging one or to step up to something with more capacity, I just pick up the phone and even if he does not have what I want in his inventory, he will find it within 24 hours or even the same day! I have sent friends and family there with their broken computers or to purchase one and they all come back with how well they were treated and what a good deal they got. It is mostly a MAC store, though I know he will get PCs as well. I only use MACs for my businesses so I have never used his store for other than that. I will start by saying I know very little about technology, especially when it comes to the complexities that are apple products-- but David was able to patiently explain any qualms that I had about my laptop away. I just moved back to LA after spending 2 years in the bay 1st off: The bay doesn't offer as many second hand apple suppliers that of which understand the ins and out of the product. 2nd: I came to the Digicomp looking for MacBook Air because it was all I had ever known. But he was able to explain why a Pro would be more beneficial for all of my different activities and even went as far as to show me the best ways to maximize my use from the product. I've been using a 17 inch MacBook Pro from mid 2010 for my professional work as an Emmy nominated designer and animator without a problem until it fatally failed three days ago. I visited Digicomp for the very first time and they recommend a 2013 15" as a replacement alternative for the same price as it would cost to repair my 17" with faster processing power and the ability to jump to current OS platforms in order to access 3D features in my existing software. They migrated my existing information, applications, messages, emails, preferences and photos flawlessly within a couple of hours. After using the new/used laptop for twenty four hours, I decided I should really go for more power and storage space if I was going to make a major change in hardware after ten years. I returned the following day and I paid the difference to jump up to a 2015 with better processing power and Digicomp upgraded the storage from 500GB to 1TB. They migrated all my files and information again at no charge. As a bonus, they removed my hard drive from my last two laptops and sold me two $20 cases so now have 500GB of external storage. When I returned I brought with me an older external drive that had failed and asked if they could do a recovery. Normally it cost at least a few hundred dollars to do so but they managed to successfully recover my files and they charged me less than a $100 to do so. They also destroyed all existing files and disposed of my older failed external drive at no charge. Wait there's more...They were nice enough to put the most amazing protective cover on the laptop I've ever seen! I looked it up online and it sells on Amazon for $50. When I asked how much it was, they said they were giving it to me for free because I had mentioned that I carry my laptop on my motorcycle every day!!!! I'm not sure why I deserved all these extras....all I did was buy the older gentlemen a 7Up while I waited for my files to transfer. I suggest you take a can of 7Up when you go there next time for your hardware and IT needs and repairs. Sprite might work too...I'm not sure. read more

Great prices and very honest service. I walked in the store and was immediately greeted by a friendly and professional staff member. They were very patient with me and they throughly explained everything I was asking about. The store's ambiance is cool and calm with an Apple-Esque theme. Beautiful iMacs and MacBooks are all around the store in an organized manner. I felt like this place looks like a mini Apple Store but with actual personal and friendly service. After reading positive reviews I brought my laptop in for repairs. Was told I needed a new fan, battery and D drive. So I did that. I took over 2 months to get things done and finally got it back the new drive died. Brought it back took another 2 weeks to get a new drive installed. Picked it up and took it home the new drive was not being recognized by the computer. Was told the connector cable for the drive might need replacing. Asked if he can order it and never did. Finally, took it to another shop. All fixed in a day. Except for the cable for the D drive that was broken, was told probably broken during installation of new 2TB drive. Also, not all the screws were put back into the laptop. They seemed nice but completely incompetent. read more

Found this store through a Craigslist ad for a post for a Refurbished 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro Retina from early 2015, which led me to Digicomp's website. Found the owner David honest and open to answering any questions I had. Laptop was in very acceptable condition, with markings on the screen here and there, but otherwise in really good shape, true to what was advertised regarding quality on their site. He offered to load it up with the Operating System of my choosing and even loaded it up with a more up to date OS when the programs I asked him to pre-load it with required it in order to run. Bought it for 1,040 with a power plug and a carrying case included. Since purchasing it almost a month ago pre-loaded with Big Sur it runs fantastic, the screen is so bright and vivid I don't even notice the marks on it, and has more than met my expectations for a computer as old as it is. Very satisfied, great place to get a used or refurb Mac in good condition on a budget. read more

i hate leaving bad reviews but this one is needed. had been coming here and there to fix battery issue...1st time around no issues is what i thought, maybe 1yr later, i could hear my battery move around and losing its charge quickly. took it in was told it was installed faulty by the old owner. and was promised a brand new battery " guaranteed" apple product. $200 later took it home and then maybe a week later saw "battery needs service- take in for critical repair"...how was this possible when i had just spent $200 on a new battery? this place is a scam, ended spending another $200 to get it correctly fixed. This was a very pleasant experience! An ad on Craigslist with a great deal on a nearly new monitor brought me down to this little computer store in a strip mall on Santa Monica. I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in - racks and shelves full of computer stuff all over the place and people working away at various computer tasks. What a refreshing change from the big-box stores. Mr. Davood was very kind and personable, gave me 100% of his attention and rushed to set up the monitor so I could test it before purchase. I wasn't able to come pick up the computer on a weekday, so they came in on the weekend so I could pick it up! So friendly. I have been doing business with David for the past 14+ years. I have bought three computers from Digicomp, or is it four? I have always received first-rate customer service and way reasonable prices. David puts his customers first. I have read a lot of negative reviews and have to refute them all. Everytime when I've needed to leave my laptop for some kind of repair, David has been up front about when his tech will be able to look at it and when I can pick it up. I don't sit waiting by the phone, I know it will be done when it's done. Sometimes a little patience pays off. I know it's not easy to please everybody. And everyone's situation is unique. But the bottom line is that David will not steer you wrong. He knows Mac. He will guide you to the right product. He will sell you the refurbished computer over the new computer if that is what you want and need.
