They do extensive work with people who create on computers for a living, and their time in the community speaks to their skill and value. What I appreciate is how they translate that knowledge to someone like me who is a simple user, needing a simple fix (new battery in this case). In comparison with other shops, they came in the same or cheaper that others, with a better guarantee on their work. In the shop, Michael took the time to explain how we could better care for our new battery (in ways Apple should have done when we bought it one might think). What is special there is that my battery will now last longer than expected, meaning he did not just set us up for the next fastest sale. Tried sudo commands, first aid, SMC/NVRAM resets, cache clean-outs, recovery reinstalls, safe mode tweaking, app unloads, etc. If this doesn't mean anything to do, I'll translate: I did a deep sweep to see what was dragging down my 2013 drive. A quick call with Mike helped us both diagnose a rapid drive death approaching. Mike knew I had tech experience and that did not sway him from giving me his honest opinion on next steps. In short - he gave me the same 5-star, exceptional service. He's trustworthy, knowledgeable, communicative & prompt - I wouldn't trust my computer with anyone else. I initially took my son's gaming laptop to another repair store who told me I had to leave it with them for 7-10 days before they would even LOOK at it! Basically stumbled upon Tarzana Tech and they were SO HELPFUL!!! I left the laptop with them and got a call less than 24 hours later explaining the issue. They explained the motherboard was damaged but it would be $400-$500 to repair it, which they said was unnecessary. Instead they helped troubleshoot a couple different cords and adaptors (we brought the second monitor down and they did the whole setup for us for FREE)! $30 later and my son is back up & running! read more
