I have been going here for yrs. The newish owners did well at first but not so much lately. I ordered a hot sandwich to go. Got home and was very disappointed to have not received the lettuce, tomato and pickle. I called them to let them know and they told me that certain sandwiches don't come with those although it always has in the past and says so on the menu!! The person that took our order was extremely rude. He did not drink us out our drink, made us pay before we even had our food like we were doing to dine and dash. The young lady there that is 17 is so sweet and has the biggest heart in the world. Then the same gentleman that took our order never brought us any plates or anything. I even gave him a tip. My bad. Our group of nine were struggling to decide what to do for dinner as we are stuck on base with limited transportation so I pulled up yelp and searched for pizza delivery and Diggs happened to be the closest non chain pizza joint that coupled with positive reviews lead to browsing the menu. We ordered the works, the meats, the BBQ chicken and a Hawaiian, all in the 16 inch size. It was probably too much pizza but we are set for at least breakfast, if not dinner for some of us tomorrow! It was also delicious! I think next time one less pizza or the smaller sizes would suffice. The military discount was also hugely appreciated! I've ordered from Diggs several times and the pizza is great IF if they can make it right, nine out of ten times they can't get half and half made correctly, they forget something when they deliver it. Last night was the last time I'll be ordering from them, it took 2 hours to get my pizza delivered ( It was cold by the time we got it), it was made full instead of half and half so I had a hungry, angry kid. When I called I got an excuse about them being busy, that doesn't cut it, I work in a high traffic restaurant so I get it but this is a repeat problem not just a one time thing. I've attached the responses I received from the owner, completely unprofessional. I'm blown away that this is how he would try to retain customers. The Pizza.. is good stuff. great food, at a good price. Delivery drivers are polite. The Garlic bread is amazing.

If you've got what seems like several hours to wait but is in reality less than an hour and a half, they'll eventually get a decent pizza to you. By decent, I mean it's better than chain pizza but in no sense fine pizza. As far as pizza construction goes, they don't seem to have a concept of using cheese to keep the toppings from just falling right off. It's ridiculous how their pizza falls apart. The crust is very nice, the sauce is tasty but on the sweet side, and the ingredients seem very fresh when you eat them after they've rolled off onto your plate. In short, the pizza is fresh and tasty but poorly constructed and their delivery service is quite possibly the worst in town. That said, the price is right. read more

As a restaurant owner, I love the opportunity to leave positive reviews on other restaurants that stand out above the rest. Today we tried Diggs Pizza for the first time. We are always looking for new venues and we are so extremely pleased we found Diggs online. First off, we were happy they deliver out in far South Boise. When we called the gentleman that took our order was polite and informative. The delivery took around 45 minutes which is totally acceptable due to where we live. The gal that delivered the goods was very happy. The first thing I noticed when the delivery was handed to me was how heavy a small pizza, medium pizza and a salad was. The first bites were nothing short of incredible. The pizzas were loaded with probably double the toppings of any other pizza we have every had. Everything was so fresh and amazingly good. Let's just say that after two slices I was stuffed. My wife and son also couldn't believe what we were indulging. Let's just say that we never made it to the awesome looking salad, but we will tomorrow. That is a meal in itself. Bottom line, this is a 10 star restaurant. read more

Okay so Diggs is kind of out of the way. This place is quaint. Open for 15+ years. Hand tosses their dough. Only the finest ingredients. Weeee. "Like no other" you say? Oh geez I got to try this experimental shizza!!! This week we are joined by our good friend Josh. I asked him what he wanted his review name to be and he kept giving me really silly ones that weren't canon such as 'Bonchovi' so I kinda just gave up. When we entered we were greeted by a homey, kinda-crammed, brick wall layout. We ordered a large piz: half pepperoni, half chicken ranch. Came out to $20. Took roughly 20 mins to arrive. They asked if we wanted any dipping sauces. We asked what they had and they said BBQ, ranch, and Caesar. I'm pretty sure the Caesar is for salad but I thought it was kinda funny that they gave us that option so I asked for some. Afterwards I overheard the cashier and one of the pizza-makers arguing about how you're not supposed to offer Caesar as a dipping sauce. -Pepperoni- It was good. Sauce was your typical tomato paste but surprisingly juicy. Cheese was just kinda regular. Pepperonis were crunchy the way we like them. Tom and Josh noticed that the pizzas were kinda sweet? It was very light and didn't affect the pizza for better or worse. -Chicken Ranch- Okay this was more like chicken, ranch, and a bunch of other unnecessary ingredients that make it seem more complex. There was roasted garlic (good), diced onions (not good), olives (overwhelming), and other stuff I can't remember. PizzaTom and JoshJosh really didn't care for the olives so I ended up eating most of this. We all would have preferred a regular chicken ranch pizza. -Verdict- It was a regular old pizza place. The opposite of their "like no other" slogan. We can't complain. Enjoyed it but not excited about going back. Again, it was kinda out of the way. Down Cole, south of Overland. You get an awesome pizza with lots of toppings for a great price. It is in a small strip mall on Cole near the corner of Cole and Amity Road. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful and just want you to have a good meal. Per Rafael's recommendation, we got the WORKS PIZZA (their most popular pizza) and PEPPERONI & SAUSAGE and both were delicious. The WORKS PIZZA had so many things on it and all the flavors worked great together. The PEPPERONI & SAUSAGE PIZZA had lots of cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. Diggs makes some of the best pizza you'll ever eat. A friend recommended them to me and a few weeks ago I read a local article that mentioned Diggs as a local gem. That reminded me I needed to go. We had some friends over and they wanted pizza so we went to Diggs. We were not disappointed. I make my own authentic Italian pizza ("00" milled pizza flour, etc.), so I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to good pizza. We ordered a custom pepperoni and sausage and "The Works". Both were excellent. The mountain of toppings on the works was unbelievable, but aside from how good it was what impressed me the most was that for a thin crust pizza, loaded with all those toppings, you pick up a slice and tip to crust stayed straight, no pizza flop at the small end of the slice. That may not be the wow factor for some, but it's an art to make a thin crust hold up like that with all those toppings. Color me impressed. I looked over the menu again before leaving and they have some other really unique pizzas I cannot wait to try. They are not in a high traffic area and kind of off the beaten path, but make no mistake if you're in the area, you need to stop at Diggs pizza, it's some of the bet around. I really don't get the hype for Diggs. I tried this place for the second time because the first time I wasn't really impressed and I can say I still am not. Now I am by no means saying this pizza is horrible because it is not but it's just not anything great. It's just so bland, like there is no seasoning on anything. The only time I tasted anything was when I just got sauce in the bite I took. Along with the blandness the cost for the size compared to some other local places is a little steep. The only reason that I can see for the higher prices is that they will give you A LOT of toppings on your pizza, which I will say is awesome but not worth it. The other issue I find which I will say is kind of trivial but still a little annoying is that they don't layer the cheese over the toppings so you lose most of them picking up the pizza and just taking a bite. I will also note that delivery is pretty fast, actually a little faster than some other pizza places around so that's a plus. I can't attest to the actual inside because I have only ever ordered delivery. All in all I can't say to avoid this place because the food isn't gross it's just not very flavorful and a little more expensive then other places that I honestly feel have better flavor. read more

If you're on the fence at all asking yourself "To order or not to order from this... Digg's Pizza place," then yes, the answer is yes. "But will they skimp on the toppings or over cook my meal choice?" Or, "Why does it take an hour for delivery, when I only live four miles away?" No, these are not valid concerns when it comes to Digg's Pizza (you may wait a bit on obviously busy nights, but you can go pick it up too if you MUST has now, meow.). They have some of the most delicious and outstanding pizza that I have had in the state of Idaho, or anywhere, to be honest. Personal History: I come from Akron, Ohio, which is sandwiched between Cleveland and Canton. Pizza shops are aplenty. And I don't mean the big corporate ones. They do exist (aplenty), but I assume most people who enjoy diverse flavors in their "diet cheat night," look elsewhere when taking a diet break. There are countless different pizza shops that I've had, whom always claimed to be the best. Sometimes those statements get close to their braggadocio, but very rarely. I love Digg's for their modest approach in the "we have the best pizza and sandwiches and wings" department. They don't ever say it, instead letting their creations (always unique (take that corporate pizza person!)) do the 'splainin. I rank Digg's pizza in my top five pizza choices that I could possibly have on this earth, as a last meal, against anyone. Words are wind, I know. But until you've savored in any of their pizza's (The Standard with mozzarella on top) or their generous grinders and calzones (you'll wake up at 3am for a bite of that half you saved for lunch), your pizza shop cravings will sadly, remain unfulfilled. Delish! I just ordered the large family special with bread sticks and am so dang happy! The bread sticks were Amazing! We got the pizza with half ham and pineapple and half pepperoni and sausage and it is so good! I am a little disappointed that they dont put that yummy seasoning with a little oil on the crust, that would take this place to another level. The breast sticks however had amazing flavor! I had high hopes, as I ordered the Gluten Free "standard" which is a pepperoni with black olives.... the outer crust was burned, and was just OK.... I ordered the "cruiser" for my husband and he really liked it. As far as the customer service, not impressed. However, they were having problems with the credit machine, and wanted cash. I didn't have that much cash on me, but they said they would call me the following day to get my bill paid. They did not call, I initiated the call back, and instead of getting any sort of apology or discount, they charged me the full amount. I definitely love a good Pizza place. And I definitely avoid bad pizza places. First of all, if their crust is bad - they're done! No amount of toppings can save a dull, nasty pizza crust. If their sauce is bad, it can sometimes be covered up by a good crust and toppings. If they skimp on the toppings, it'd be nice to know beforehand so I can just order the bread sticks and sauce. I've only been to Diggs twice now but it comes out with a near perfect score, in my book. The pizza crust is chewy and flavorful and the toppings plentiful. But if I had to nitpick, and it really is a nitpick, mind you - I'd say that the sauce is lacking a little flavor. I didn't so much notice it on the topping filled pizza, but with the bread sticks, I did notice. Don't get me wrong, I still thoroughly enjoyed the bread sticks (Twistys) and sauce enough to devour them all and order some more next time. Actually I ordered the Diggs Bites next time, which were also delicious. Good addition to the menu! Another pizza that I can't wait to get again is the Sweet & Sour Chicken. I may or may not have eaten the whole large pizza in one sitting. Don't hesitate to get the calzone. Although mine was a little flimsy when it was all said and done (would have like a thicker crust all around), it was none-the-less delicious. The seasoning that they dust the outside with adds a great flavor to the pizza pocket. The service was nice and friendly. They even offered me a bottled water while I waited - of course it helps that I'm a nice and friendly guy too. I cannot vouch for the quality of service one might receive if you don't know how to be a decent human being, but regardless, they don't seem like the kind of people that would spit on your pizza. The skill is in blending the right amount of crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings so that you actually have a pizza slice to pick up. The crust was under-cooked (as admitted by the friendly owner) because of so many toppings. After taking off the toppings so that I could re-heat and actually bake the gummy crust, I have two CUPS of extra toppings (sausage, mushrooms, olives, and green peppers) to use in omelettes (as one other reviewer pointed out), but I still don't have good pizza. In fact, I threw some away- a rare occurrence for me. The owner pointed out that pizza preferences are a personal thing, which I hadn't considered before. So, personally, I'd rather have had Idaho Pizza or Papa Murphys. Sorry :-( read more
