Just had to update my review based on my second experience. We decided to go back one more time before we left Bethany Beach because the food was quite good. I needed to update the review in special recognition of our server, Kenna, who was our server the first time around and we were lucky to get her again. I forgot to recognize her by name on our initial visit. This time, I had the Gnocchi with Mushrooms and it was incredible also. It was another large serving with enough to take back to the hotel. I also added the Italian Wedding soup and it was probably the best I've had! It was filled with plenty of vegetables and the broth was fantastic. Final shout out to the bartender that made an exceptional Cosmo. All three of us ordered one and we each gave it high marks. DiFebo's was highly regarded in Bethany Beach, and since I brake for homemade pasta, it had to be a choice for one of our meals. My husband and I sat at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready. While the drinks we ordered were high-quality and made properly, we got the feeling that the bartender was not enthusiastic about our patronage. We did not experience a warm welcome. When we sat down to the table, we felt the complete opposite from the server. He was warm and friendly. He was courteous and funny. Throughout the service, he seemed overwhelmed, however. We ordered additional drinks, appetizers, and full meals for our family of four. The service dragged out. Even though the meals seemed to be skillfully prepared with quality ingredients, we are pretty sure that our food sat in the window for far too long. In fact, I enjoyed my Bolognese more the next morning for breakfast after I heated it in the microwave. Overall, this meal was far too expensive for the experience we got in return. Instead, vacationers should consider purchasing the homemade pasta from the market across the street and making it at their condo instead. read more

I had the lobster special. Great. Wife and cousin split the chicken Marsala. The server said the other half was delayed. We all thought we either misunderstood or she made a mistake. I have been wanted to try DiFebo's for a few years now and we finally got there last weekend. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait so we walked across the street to the market (can't wait to come back and get some goodies from here). Surprisingly we were text and told our table was ready in about 15 minutes. We started with the garlic bread which was HUGE and delicious. I got the malfadine bolognese and my friend got the chicken Parmesan. Portions were very large, pasta was fresh. My friends chicken Parmesan was delicious and better than my dish in my opinion. She did mention she wished she had more sauce on her pasta but she just used the leftover marinara from the bread. We skipped dessert since we were planning to go grab ice cream but will definitely get dessert on our next visit. We both said we'd like to come back with our families - I think my boys would love the meatballs (we saw a plate come by). It is pretty loud as well so not the spot for a quiet, romantic dinner. The food was amazing, and this is coming from a guy who grew up with immigrant parents and a mom that can cook! Chicken Parm is fantastic so is the Caesar salad. The pistachios ice cream is very tasty but it's not Italy. Haha I overheard a customer say that while dinning there. But today we finally found a dish we didn't like. The mushroom gnocchi did not taste good nor did it present itself well on a plate. I cannot understand how anyone could give this place anything other than a five. Every time I come to visit my friend in this area I always have to come here. I am so impressed with the quality of their pasta and sauce. I've eaten in California, Washington DC, Chicago and then any other bigger cities, but this still remains in my top three of Italian places I've ever eaten. We recently ate at the restaurant and the food was fine - not great, but ok. The waiter, who I believe was the owner, talked my husband into ordering the veal chop, which was a special. When it came, I was surprised how small it was. I thought it was chewy, but my husband enjoyed it. Imagine our surprise when the bill came and we were charged $62 for it! Shame on us for not asking the price, but shame on him for not informing us that it would cost DOUBLE than any other entree on the menu. It seems he took us for suckers. (He also tried to sell my husband a different "special" glass of wine that wasn't on the menu after my husband chose a reasonably priced one off the menu. Thank goodness he said no.) Decided on a nice date night with my wife and really enjoyed the later service time (8:15pm start) while sitting outside. Our drinks were well-made. I was jealous of my wife's sorbet spritz. The crab arancini special was really great and made me wish there were more than one per order. The calamari was not overly greasy and had a good mix of rings and tentacle sections. I ordered the fiocchetti di pera which were a great, stuffed pasta that didn't feel overly rich. My wife ordered the seafood stew special which had a nice mix of different seafood including crabmeat and mussels. We ordered secondi as well as the 12 oz NY strip cooked medium rare. It was cooked at the right temperature with good seasoning on it. The broccoli and mashed potato side with it was also very good. Finally we finished the meal with a tiramisu to split, which was really nice and moist. We've always been wanting to find a night to go here after going to their market across the street for several years and I'm glad it was as good as hoped. I'm kind of annoyed because this restaurant offers gluten free options but are not transparent about any up charge for it. Holy cow- $6 up charge for pasta and $4 for a roll! Tonight was our first time dining at DiFebo's and it was absolutely delicious! We started with the garlic bread and calamari, both were so good and quickly devoured by the four of us! The entrees were fantastic. We had chicken Parmesan, chicken marsala, the lump crab tagliatelle special and the cioppino. I only got photos of the appetizer and my cioppino and the picture doesn't do it justice, it is huge and so flavorful. Full of fresh, tender seafood and a slightly spicy tomato broth, just what I wanted. Our server, Sal, was fantastic as well. So knowledgeable, and friendly. My husband and I came this past Saturday 5/30/2026 arriving at 4:50 PM without a reservation, I checked online and did not notice anything mentioning we should have one. We were seated way back in a far corner. My husband ordered the steak which he (not exaggerating) needed a chainsaw to cut! I ordered the parmesan cutlet special - the chicken was good with the exception of it being placed on mashed potatoes which made the underside extremely soggy! Our waitress never came back to check on us to see how our food or we were, not until we were finished and ready for the bill. Last night we had yet another 5 star meal at DiFebo's! It was a very busy night yet we waited for nothing. Our server Gianna was 10 out of 10. The chicken Parm is so large and the cutlets are pounded thin which is the only way I like them. My boyfriend had the cioppino and it's the largest portion I've ever seen in a restaurant with so much seafood. We topped it off with the peach cobbler and called it a night! Let me first say how I was looking forward to eating here since I frequent the other establishment in Rehoboth . Started with cocktails, I had the Old Fashioned Italian which I really enjoyed and Wifey had her usually; after that it was down hill from there. Started with cocktails a watermelon gazpacho and the DiFebo' garlic bread which I found to be greasy(maybe oily is better), the gazpacho was so so, not much of a watermelon taste. Entrees is where it really went downhill, Wifey had chicken piccata with pasta which we found to be very salty and we like salt. I had the linguine with clams (white), not much flavor considering the pasta was swimming in a pool of liquid. The killer here was the 5 little neck clams it came with and the first one I bite into was filled with sand...The second one was gritty. ( no one ever came by with some grated cheese for the pastas). Not a pleasant experience, we enjoyed the wine with dinner , Chianti Classico Banfi Reserva. We left and left our gift certificate and cash for a tip. ( Left disappointed)...As I was driving home we get a phone call from the manager telling us that the gift certificate was not honored there. No one ever said anything to my Wife when she purchased the gift certificate where it was to be used; nor does it say it on the gift certificate. The manager actually hung up the phone on us as we said to him this is not like it's a chain restaurant, Family owned ..no?...Lucky I gave them 2 stars, I wanted to give them 1 * read more
