Great store for all of your sporting goods. I stopped in to buy a pair of running shoes and was pleasantly surprised that the service was fast even though it was busy. The clerk was knowledgeable and friendly. The pricing is average and the checkout was fast today. Very knowledgeable about the specifics I was looking for basketball hoop. Although they didn't have it on display was able to refer me to 800 number sand also handle the assembly. Since everyone is hiding out was perfect day to stop in. There were a few other customers in the morning so there was plenty of help from the employees, but at busy times I have seen it difficult to get help. We typically stay to the sale rack and can be some really good prices, but other than that can buy things much cheaper at other stores. Took in my bike today because the rear brakes were locked up and was informed that unfortunately their main bicycle technician is out of town and there is about 2 weeks of back log. The gentleman who informed me of this asked me what I was bringing it in for. I said the rear brakes were locked up, so he helped me disassemble it, find where the problem was, and rectified the situation within 5 minutes. Shook my hand and told me to enjoy the summer weather. Will definitely be shopping at Dicks again due to their kindness and the fact that they go above and beyond. Thanks! read more

I bought Asics at the Naperville DSG 3 months ago 7/05/2024 and I noticed on 9/14/2024 that the fabric is torn on the top of my running shoes. On Asics site they said bring it to the shop you purchased it at. The shop manager at the Naperville location was so rude to me and walked away disrespectfully. Dick's is discontinuing the Diamondback brand and were having a great sale on their bikes. Bought new Jordan's here for basketball and they ripped 3 months into use. Nikes policy says the store will allow you to take them within two years. Went to the store and an employee who had no clue of any policies said he'd ask his manager. Came back and said his manager said no. Manager wouldn't even come to talk. This is offensive. I now have to send them to Nike to wait a minimum two weeks to get shoes. This policy makes no sense and has made a customer of 10 years never want to shop at Dicks again. I went to Dick's today cause I ordered a pair of Ultra Boosts online and they left the sensor on. I was pretty annoyed when I opened them because if I wanted to shop in store I would have. I prefer online for the convenience. I want to give props to Toby because he greeted me with humor and was very apologetic. I have to say I felt bad for him because when he went to go remove the sensor he had to try 3-4 of the sensor removers before he found one that worked while I waited ( hence another reason I prefer to shop online). Overall, kudos to Toby and to Dick.... get ur damn sensor removers fixed! read more

I was in Dicks Saturday and on two separate incidents I was treated horribly for no reason or than I was a person of color. The first incident occurred when I asked the salesman for a size and assumed he went to the back to retrieve the shoe. It wasn't until another salesman came and asked if I'd been helped. He politely went to the back and came right back with another shoe I was looking for. Sadly the other guy DID NOT come back. The new salesman also went to retrieve the original shoe I had wanted but couldn't find the match. I informed him the big guy had "went to retrieve it" but never came back. He went looking around and found the shoe laying around. This should have been my first clue to just leave. At checkout Ibrehaim was nice and polite. I asked for another shoe in women. Unfortunately the only way to order the shoe was via online. He called Pete and stated there was a lady needing to place an online order & would be over. Soon as Pete saw that I was a person of color Pete scurried from the register and LEFT! I will never shop this store again! I will also file a complaint with whomever I need to. NO ONE should ever be treated in this manner nor made to feel any way due to the color of their skin. read more

My cousin called this Dick Sporting Goods store in naperville to ask if they had any black Nike book bags in store, and a male answered the phone and said "yes" in a hurry. I drove here to find out they didn't have any Nike book bags. I could've saved a drive. We called twice; the second time was when they answered. This was a bad experience.. Two men who looked like managers were standing nearby a phone that was ringing nonstop the whole time I was in there! I so very much want to be a cheerleader for this store. I am not. I find it hard to shop. I've been in a few times, they carry a large amount of merchandise. It's just that the merchandise is never quuuuiiiiitttttte what I'm searching for. And, if it is MY heart desired item, it can be difficult to get to it. Here is an example of my first point. We were searching for soccer cleats for my darling nephew- Dicks had tons of them, just not the right ones. Wrong colors, with right feels, etc. Not right. Think Goldilocks and the three bears without the perfect match at the end. My second point? On my last trip in, I checked out the Womens North Face Parka selection. It was pretty vast. Many styles, colors, sizes, cuts. A friend and I were able to choose cuts and coats that we liked. Now getting around the area? We were crammed in like sardines. It was tight. Coats were way up on the wall, squished in against others, over here, over there, across the section. Shopping was a total pain. My friend was bound and determined that no matter how unshoppable we were finding the section, we would shop it. And shop it we did. We compared and contrasted Columbia, North Face, Patagonia, and at least one Spyder. I now know what long, WARM, semi-unstylish coat I'm purchasing for this predicted horrid winter. Where I'm buying it? I'm still unclear. **Accessibility Thoughts** We found coats to be crowded, dense with little room for maneuverability, and no room for leaning. We needed to change directions frequently in the small, packed space. This is not easy with a walker as they don't all roll sideways. I think getting a small manual chair into and around parts of this store would be difficult and I believe this is true for even a travel chair with an extremely small wheel base. In my opinion, on the day we were last in, a power chair (such as a Permobil c300) would not have fit into the section. Other areas had more room, it is a large store. Best place for athletic gear and equipment in the area. They carry a wide selection of clothing, shoes and sporting goods for Men, women and kids. Lots of clothing from top brands for all ages, sex, and size and always a deal to be found. This location has a Wide selection of everything you need for sports. Great place to check out some of the top line cycle bikes, treadmills, and other workout equipment because they have some on the floor built and ready to see. I go for the Nike & Adidas sneakers and I'm usually please when I go with the selection of sneakers they have. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I visited this new comer to the neighborhood when they first opened. They were well stocked on just about everything and the staff was knowledgeable especially fishing department. Went into the bike shop area with some blown out tires on an old bike. I know nothing about bikes and had no idea what to expect, but was worried it was going to be really expensive and I might need to purchase a new bike. David was there to greet us immediately and helped change them out in under 10 minutes. He was friendly and knowledgeable and we had such an amazing experience with him. As far as customer service and amount of employees available to assist you, this store is great! The problem is the lack of apparel and sporting goods on hand. Maybe I got too used to the gigantic location in Lombard and have been spoiled by it's enormous selection, but the Naperville location didn't satisfy my needs. Granted, I did go in looking for a weighted hula hoop (they only had one and it was overpriced and not AT ALL what I wanted), BUT I feel like the selection of most things in the store is watered down compared to the Lombard location. FINALLY! A decent mega-sporting goods chain comes to the Route 59 area! It's clean, the selection is really good, and it puts the nearby Sports Authority to shame. I was able to get a new pair of $120 Nikes on sale for $75... they have great sales! Extensive sportswear collection. read more

Although this is a smallish Dick's there's a considerable amount of stuff in here that's worth checking out for your sporting needs. I'm particularly fond of their camping section, with some items that only Amazon has otherwise in this area. Pricey but worth looking through during their clearance sales. Incredibly limited women's sizes so keep that in mind if you're not teeny. read more

So, I have been waiting for fifteen minutes for my bike that should've been ready fifteen minutes ago. Big box stores are not known for their friendly, helpful employees. These guys should be! Rob back in Bicycles was awesome when I was there trying out bikes. I went in a couple times and rode around the store. No one seemed to think twice on it and I was never scolded by staff. When I was ready to make my purchase, Rob said it would take about half an hour to assemble my chosen bike (GT Talera, women, sz M). We wandered off to let him to do his job. When we came back Rob was leaving and Eric helped us with the check out. He was very nice. While I don't much care for the hard sell of the warranty, in this case it made sense. I will need a bike tuning each season, and for the cost of the warranty for three years, I get the initial assembly by a professional, plus two more in the subsequent years, plus the extended warranty coverage. All in all a great shopping experience. But wait! It gets even better! I bought my bike full price, a thing I am loathe to do. However, a chunk of research went into finding out if the bike was something that went on sale, ever (according to everything I found, it did not). When it DID go on sale three weeks later, I called the store to see if they could do a price match. Debbie (who answered the phone after hours on a Sunday!) told me to come in the next morning and they would do a price adjustment for me. I asked for the manager as she told me to do, John, and he referred me the the register where they quickly refunded me $300 on my new bike! No questions, no arguments - just incredible customer service. read more

Tried to buy shoes here. NEVER AGAIN!!! Almost comical experience. There was one guy trying to help the 6 people in his section. He was absolutely doing his best, I felt terrible for this kid. The part that was annoying was that a manager walked by and when she saw me holding a shoe, she quickly spun away and speed walked off in the other direction. I don't understand how she couldn't help her shoe guy out. The entire experience took over an hour to buy a pair of running shoes for my daughter. As I walked around him he moved in front of me nearly demanding that I devuldge what I am looking for. A Godsend during football season as there is a location near our practice. For the list gloves, missing under armour, mouthguards, etc, this is my "go to". They are ways helpful and you aren't searching for someone to assist you. I have even had them pull products and have then waiting for me at the register when I'm running late. First let me say, Ms. Jasmine (Manager) was absolutely amazing! I ordered my bike online and was told that it was ready for pick-up via text. I immediately received a call from a sales associate letting me know that that text was incorrect and I would receive a call once my bike was put together. A few days later, no call but I did get an email from Dick's stating that if I didn't pick up my order it would be put back. With this pandemic, it was hard enough to find a bike in stock so there was no way I was going to let that happen. I drove an hour and a half to get there and pulled into the curbside area only to find out that my bike was not completed. I wasn't upset, things happen, however I didn't want to have to drive another 1.5 hours back home to have to come back again. The sales associate went to get Jasmine (the manager) and Jasmine took care of it all. She took my phone number and stated that she would call me when she had a definitive answer. My husband and I decided to visit a few more stores and within 20 minutes she called with the good news that my bike would be ready! She walked me through how to accept the order personally delivered the bike to my car. Although the technical glitch in Dick's system wasn't any associate's fault, they all took care to explain and assist me. That means the world to me and I'm sure countless others in a world of chaos. Not worth going to this one - nothing like the Lombard or Schaumburg stores. No inventory, unless you only want to have very generic Nike or UA items that you can find anywhere. Selection on kids shoes is poor. Selection on kids clothing is a joke. I go to specialty stores when shopping sport specific (soccer, swimming, wrestling, skiing), but I can't even buy every day things my kids need. Won't be back. Even Sports Authority has a much better shoe and clothing selection, and that's not saying much. read more

Came in to buy hockey skates, no trouble just that the workers saw me struggle to get the boxes down from the tall shelves. After a good half hour I chose my hockey skates and went online to check for the price on there. When I went to check out he rang it up to $20 more than original.
