I like Dick's Sporting Goods, this store is typically well stocked, well organized and very clean. They have a good selection of fishing gear, and provide line spooling. Whether you're looking for golf equipment, dumbbells, lacrosse gear, running garb or most any sports related item, this is a good place to start. Most of my fishing gear is purchased at this store, including hooks, sinkers, bait (Yamamoto worms), Trilene Monofilament Fishing Line, etc. Returns have been easy, and they have a decent rewards program. read more

Get told by two employees that we could exchange a faulty product without a receipt or phone number, alright easy enough. Get up to the cashier with our new and hopefully not faulty product, she tells us that the other employees lied and that we can't do that. Walked all over the store to find the new product just to be told that. This store clearly needs to work on employee communication. Additionally the employees here act like it's the biggest burden in the world to do their job, always seem pissy and upset when a customer approaches them for assistance cause they are too busy gossiping with their coworkers. Not worth going here anymore, i'd recommend going to a independent sporting good store, at least there you'll likely get better assistance and will actually get employees who won't act like you just asked them to get a autograph from god himself when you ask for assistance. read more

Clean up your changing rooms! I got stabbed through the foot with a safety pin - it went a half inch into my foot. The whole floor in the changing room was littered with multiple sharp objects of multiple sizes. I think I'm going to need a tetanus shot. Meanwhile the clerks seemed more interested in a shoplifting attempt than dealing with an injured customer. read more

Just went to our local Dick's expecting to browse some midrange bicycles. Despite a good crowd of patrons the place had a "going-out-of-business" vibe. Signs of construction; no employees in sight. After spending fifteen minutes pulling bikes from the racks myself so that my wife could find an appropriate size, I finally went in search of someone to check their inventory. I did a loop through the store and found ALL the employees (maybe seven total, none of whom appeared older than 20) joking around and flirting with each other behind the customer service desk. Savor the irony. Full disclaimer: at this point I asked for assistance and was met a minute later by a helpful young guy who hung around and answered our questions. I bought a basketball hoop from Dicks in Millbury and had a terrible experience. The delivery was late due to an accident by their driver. The hoop was damaged but they tried to install it anyways. Then the driver left permanent damage on my driveway from his equipment. I ended up cancelling the order and had them return it to the store. I will be buying a hoop elsewhere but want to warn the public before they decide to purchase an expensive in-ground hoop from Dicks in Millbury. read more

Dick's Sporting Goods is one of the last sporting goods retailers left, which originally left me sort of sad, as I found Sports Authority and Bob's both to have better prices, generally speaking. Bob's is still around (but not for long), but I am having much better feelings about Dick's Sporting Goods after visiting this particular location. I came in here right before Christmas to get a whole bunch of stuff for gifts for the holidays. Everything worked perfectly, which is a first for me at Dick's Sporting Goods. All of my coupons worked, everything I wanted to purchase I was able to get at a reasonable price, and with all of that within a few weeks I got a $20 gift card in the mail for reaching the bonus reward (that has never happened before, and I have spent a lot at Dick's in the past!). While I do like their stores as they are always clean, organized, and extremely spacious, I always find things that I don't actually need, and the things I do need are always overpriced. They have seemed to change their store quite a bit adding a price match guarantee, and making more sales throughout the store. As aforementioned, Dick's has a price match guarantee which is a great benefit that I highly suggest taking advantage of (if you have the Amazon or Walmart app on your smartphone you can just scan items to find the lowest prices). Staff were extremely friendly and when through any of my three transactions something did not work, the manager came over and happily fixed the issue quickly. Everyone, in general, seemed extraordinarily friendly and helpful, even with the high volume of customers that the Christmas rush provides, which I thought was great. Im an avid gun shooter and collector. Every now and then I'll stop at a Dick's to browse their firearm selection as they often have good deals. I was in the area and stopped at this one. I saw they had a youth .22 rifle on sale for $99.99. So I wanted to look at it. Yes, I'm an adult. Yes I understand youth firearms are smaller. But they have a good resale value and they're also fun to use around the range. As someone previously mentioned, finding a sales person here is a mission. So I finally found someone and they said someone would be over to assist me momentarily. As I'm waiting in the firearms department, browsing the other rifles, a man yells in a condescending tone from maybe 50ft away "CAN I HELP YOU WITH SOMETHING"?. I turn around and this large man named Tony was approaching. I replied "yes, I'd like to look at the youth .22 you have on sale". He replies dumb founded and still yelling "LICENSE OUT AND ON THE COUNTER". Now at this point I'm already irritated at the fact Tony thinks he can talk to me like I'm a child and is already giving me "attitude". So I humor the ridiculous request and place my License to Carry on the counter. He then checks it over several times (as if I'm trying to use a fake license), and says "what do you want to look at?". I tell him I'd like to see the youth .22 on sale for $99.99. To which he replies (still in a condescending tone) "That's a youth gun. That's not for adults". I replied "I understand that. They're a fun gun to tinker around with." Now this is he part that pushed me over the edge. He looks at me and goes "Ummmm not really. This is a gun for a child in cub scouts. Not for adults. This isn't an adult gun". I'm not sure what gave Tony the idea that he had any right to question my motives or to try and tell me I can't buy a gun because it's youth and I'm an adult. So I grab my license off the counter and reply "you know what? I'll take my business elsewhere. If you're going to be condescending and talk down to me about a subject you clearly have no knowledge in, I'm all set. I'll be contacting corporate and letting them know you just blew a $100 sale because of your attitude". The fact a retail employee with no firearm experience would ever think it's okay to insult an avid firearm collector/user is beyond me. Tony needs to be immediately removed from his position or from the company entirely. I can't imagine how many other sales he's made Dick's lose because of his lack of social ability and "know-it-all" attitude. Avoid this Dick's if you can! read more

This is one store I will NEVER shop in again. One good thing I can say though is that each time I visited the store, it was very clean and well organized. We had gone there to purchase a treadmill. Finding a salesperson was an adventure. Once we did find someone, he was friendly and was able to point us in the right direction. Rather then take it with us. We elected to have it delivered and set up. What a mistake. Took an additional two trips and countless phone calls to the store and the corporate office. Everyone had someone to blame, no one was able to easily rectify the situation. Next time if I can't find what i want locally, I will order it over the 'net rather then walk in to a Dick's again. read more

Agreed, I will never be back! The people were nicer here than the Worcester location who sent me here to pick up the shoes she said were here which took 20 minutes for her to figure out. She never called to confirm or have them hold it so I got here and what happened? Nothing was here. Sooo being the nicer folks they said they'd ship it from NH to my house that week. I called over a week later, the shoes accidentally got shipped to the Milbury location! Oops! Sooo they'd ship it Fedex to me next day. I got them, finally, after two and a half weeks, with the best part....the security tags still on them. I called to see what they could do so that I could get the tags off without driving 45 mins in traffic to the closest Boston locations. Nothing. No solution offering, no help. I should have known. Zero customer service on the sales floor. Completely ignored at the checkout. 1st I wanted to get some assistance in the bike area. Literally not one associate could be found. I gave up and selected an item I knew about and was able to find it on my own. I get it I wasn't buying a cart full of stuff but I still wanted to make a purchase. As I was walking up the front there were two registers that appears to be open. One then shut the cashier light off as I was walking up. Two associates were up front (not on a register) there was a customer in front of me who had a large purchase and it was taking a bit long. Not a big deal but then multiple customers came up and before they could even get in line the two associates waived them over and said "I'll take you over here" I asked one of them if I could quickly check out because I had been there for a good while waiting. She didn't acknowledge that I even spoke to her she just looked away after I asked. The two that had jumped on the registers finish their transactions and then logged back off. Meanwhile I'm still waiting. Finally I was able to check out. The transaction was fine but being someone who has worked in retail most of their life it was extremely frustrating and the lack of consideration got to me. I don't visit this location often but I was in the area for a movie so I figured why not. Now I know why not. I'll just shop on Amazon I guess. read more

Would have been 5 Stars but the delivery date became twice what was expected after placing an order online in the store. Stocking, organization, and pricing is average for the company and store size. Associates are helpful and friendly; however the manager, Amanda, appeared to be more focused on keeping up appearances than actually helping customers and had an attitude with the associate that was trying to assist me, which I felt was very unprofessional and rude. I don't shop at Dick's often, however this experience put a bad taste in my mouth as it's important for managers to value their employees just as much as they value their customers, which this manager clearly does not. read more

i had a rain check for 6 months. numerous calls were made, went to the store and was lied to by the sporting goods manager. the store manager offerred me $15.00 off a scope. sporting goods manager told me he would get me a better scope for the sale price then renegs and also lies. wrote to the companys main officer, i've heard nothing. they don't care. they don't back their rain checks. spoke to a sales person who stated they send a couple to each store just to get you in.. if you get a rain check i wish you luck. read more
