I recently stopped in here while in town to visit a family member. It was a Saturday afternoon on a hot & humid day. Entering the store the air conditioning was welcoming. It was busy and at the same time clean and orderly. It had been years since my last shopping experience and I noticed that not much had changed... Until seeing that clothing was tagged by size.. meaning a size SM would have "S" and so on for a tag. General prices were listed on placards... Much easier than going through a rack, finding something awesome only to find out it's definitely not in your size range! So anyway I picked up a few what I feel are really nice items..and even better the tag being the color of the week - 50% off. I moved on to housewares and poked around some. I really was just browsing more than looking for anything in particular. My eyes caught some bakeware items that looked the perfect size for what I use.. so inspecting it I saw they were all " new" and Chantal .. even better the sticker on them was the 50% off color of the week. So I chose just 1 and tossed it into my cart. Checkout went very quickly. I found any of the staff I interacted with to be friendly and helpful. I felt perfectly safe shopping - people kept their distance..some masked and others were not which is the case now at the time of this writing. Its a haul for me but with the incredible deals I got I'm already planning my next visit! read more

Pro: Pretty good selection; prices are good Con: since COVID, changing rooms are still closed so you have to either try clothes on over your clothes or just guess it will fit. There are also no bathrooms open to the public. So if you decide to go make sure to dress in a way that would best accommodate trying clothes on over them. I found great items but when I tried them on I had issues putting them on with my clothes on (even if they might work if I didn't have clothes on, I ended up getting nothing) read more

I will preface this review by stating that I know all things goodwill. If we leave home, there is Bound to be a goodwill stop. From soho down to Brighton, I've seen them all. This well traveled kid sure knows a mean goodwill. It's my wife's fault. She makes me stop. So, here's the shakedown of Worcester goodwill. My grading rubric is becoming the yelp norm. Smell-A-. Reasonably neutral. Not a hint of the standard mothball smell. Doesn't smell like octogenarians, either. Lighting-A. I was able to identify those not-so-mysterious yellowish stains on the inside if some of the men's pants. Pass. Good lighting equals less vomit when I get home and realize what I've bought. Are you listening, Hyannis? Musak: B. pop radio station. A few decent hits to sing out loud while embarrassing the wife to hurry up, notably Kenny Loggins "I'm all right". Organization of clothes: C+. Drives me nuts when pants are arranged by color. Gee, only 77 pairs of tan khakis left to find the magical 34/30. Needle in a haystack. Oh goodie, let's move onto 58 pairs of blue to search. Listen up, Wooster, or whatever it is...arrange all pants by waist size. Narrow them dogs down, and let me see my options. Yes, the minions must do more work, but that's how it needs to happen. Shirts, etc. seemed logical. Brand namishness: A-. Lots of good names here...Ralph, tommy, and mr. Bean all made plentiful appearances. College towns seem to bring n the best names! Employees: B. yup. Working. Not complaining about working. Other notes: scored 50 cents in a pair of pants. Changing rooms seemed like the security cam might see more than normally secure areas of the body. Clean, overall. Funny sign at the drop-off door: "no dumping after hours. $500 fine" in other words, if it is during hours, it is valuable...but after hours, 10 used seersucker suits and dads used LA gear sneakers are rubbish, punishable by fines. To funny. Would love to see what prompted that sign. Musta been bad. 50 used George Michael concert shirts bad, So yes, friends, this one is pretty stout in the world of goodwill. A pillar of savings, cloaked in unusual normalcy. Denizens of Wooster, dine heartily on the textile buffet that awaits. It's bizarre. It's interesting. It's cheap. It's goodwill. read more

I am rating this a 4 star for the time being. I didnt have a lot of time to mess around with the clothes, so I did a lap around the exterior. First stop were pictures and frames. They seemed pricey and I was having a hard time reading the price stickers up high. The entire back shelf was mostly housewares. No lack of housewares and the prices appeared to be reasonable. They had a good selection of small appliances, which for example a Mr. Coffee espresso maker was $6.99. Wheeling around I was starting to run out of time, so I checked out the CDs and records. Good prices. Records were $1 each, which at other places they would run me $2 and sometimes $3-5. I had to quickly leave after that and was dismayed that there was only one cashier with about 10 people in line. Right when I got in line, she called another cashier up front and the line quickly disappeared. One drawback was that I had a tough time finding a parking place. The lot is very small and shares with other business. The Goodwill was busy and I had to wait until someone pulled out for me to get a place to park. I plan to come back here every once in a while to check things out and edit my review. Good so far for this location. read more

I find I typically have really good luck here. I have found quite a few clothing and household items. You definitely have to take time out to actually visit here and go through racks to really find some treasures, but they are there. They also just recently started filling pants by color and size! There's been some bits from the housewares section that have been stellar finds. I find that this location typically has quite the mix of useless broken items and great pristine pieces. The clothing section is a real gem though. They are constantly putting out product and there's always some good things to find. I have managed to pick up some really nice jackets and shirts from here. The prices are also cheaper then savers. The people working here seem pretty friendly as well. read more

Hit or miss but every once in a while you'll find a hidden gem. Best thing I've gotten here so far was a vintage Nautica shirt for $2 which was a bargain. Clothes don't always rotate super fast so I come about once a week or so just to quickly check. Limited parking but the inside is usually pretty clean and organized. read more

After moving to my sister's apt thanks to a cruel witch hunt at GBV, i noticed some of the clothes i had requested to be there were send to storage as it was mistaken for winter gears, as my family is still to another town. Needing summer clothes that was work-appropriate since i work in retail, i opted to see if there were some here. Good thing, i was able to find just what was needed on a budget. I also check around to see what kinds of dinnerware that were kid friendly to help my sister. She's not much of a fan of second-hand but understood the offer. I even check out some others for those diamonds in the ruff. If someone is travelling a lot and limited budget, don't be afraid to check for the items that could be hard to find. You might find a fortune. Downside, you might have to wait at the dressing room for an opening. This also help that after what happened in housing court prior towards the move. They at least generosity towards the disabled, not what vile disrespect and corruption with lack of evidence. read more

Whoever the store hiring manager is Patricia that's her name, I've been applied to the store some many times on indeed and when I call the hiring manager to ask About the job offer, she replies "she's waiting for people to come back" but she says that to everyone that applies, as a test I asked my friend to apply and call them the same day and the hiring manager says the same line "we're waiting for people to come back" on indeed it notifys me of new job alerts and I feel like it's unfair to everyone who needs a job that someone is posting these opportunities but we can never get the chance, Just saying that store needs a change in management read more

I feel Dawn's pain in that they REALLY need to sort by size! It takes me at least a half an hour to maneuver 4 racks of jeans to maybe find 2 in my size. They follow the grouping by color that the Salvation Army does -- that can be a help. The workers are always very helpful and the store is kept clean which helps. Alot of the kitschy items are great for a laugh (singing fish on a plaque anyone?) or as gifts for the Misters relatives. I'm recycling, don't judge. :) I have managed to find some great items here though. My favorite is a pair of brown leather gloves for 99 cents. Be still my frugal heart. read more

I used to shop exclusively at this store, then they opened a SAVERS across from Lincoln Plaza and I went there. Low and behold, they keep their clothing by SIZE--making shopping so much easier and enjoyable. The Morgan Good Will for some reason sorts their clothing by COLOR. OMG! Searching and searching for my size makes it so tiring that I stopped going. Try Savers Instead. read more

I've been here twice now. Both were post grandmother visits in neighboring shrewsbury. This goodwill has the benefit of staying open till 6 on Sundays. Somewhat organized, somewhat clean, somewhat of what was expected. Both times I walked out with a few weird books. Nothing will blow your socks off here, but it's a goodwill so why would you expect that. Patrons weird, staff less than friendly but again this is a goodwill so don't get any hopes up. Worth the stop if you have time but would probably drive by as it will be an unremarkable memory that won't stay with you too long. read more

The corporation has exponentially increase its prices. For instance, you'll find a used sweater from Old Navy for $9.99 when it is been sold at Old Navy for only $7.00 brand new. Another thing and this one is very important: Watch out for thieves! Just this week my coat was stolen and 2 days later my cashmere winter hat. It was very hot inside the store, and I took off my coat and put it on top of the stuff in my cart. I never left my cart unattended, but seems someone was watching me and the moment I looked away from my cart (while i still had my hand on it) someone took my coat. By the time I noticed it was too late. The thief obviously knew that it belonged to me and not the store because she never bothered to try and pay for it. Same thing happened with my hat. I also know of 6 other people whose personal belongings have been stolen from them including their wallets. Lastly, check the clothes even before trying. There are tons of clothes that are dirty, ripped, and with a horrendous smell. Always check the crutch on all pants and the underarms on all dresses. read more

I love all things recycled, refurbished, and repurposed, so it's no surprise that I like the Goodwill chain of stores. If you don't mind doing some digging, you can find some great deals here. Their prices are more reasonable than what you'll find at some of the other resale places these days, especially for housewares. Furniture selection is hit or miss, but they always seem to have lots of good shoes. Unfortunately they don't sort by size, which makes their jeans section almost useless. But if you're feeling like its a "red short-sleeve shirt" kind of day, I suppose their system could save you a lot of time. The store is pretty clean and they have more than one dressing room. I just wish they also had a restroom! I have to take away a star for that; otherwise I would give them a 4. read more

I see this store has received a review for each year since 2007 to present ... so I will start off 2010 with some observations considering I was there just a few days ago. Yes, I also find this type of shopping can be time-consuming, esp. hunting for a bargain and the right size. A good way to look at spending time in stores like this, is what does a person have more of - time or $$$. Also, what else might s/he be doing with this time - in the dead of winter or on a rainy day, this could be productive use of time. On a warm, sunny day, this would be the last place I'd go. Similar to my longer review I just posted (on 02/02/2010) about the Salvation Army store in the same town, I'd still suggest heading to the rack with desired type of clothing or color. This store is arranged much like the other one. But it is a fraction of the size, so it will take far less time to find stuff. Pros - clothing prices are posted on visible signs above each rack of clothing - for ex. I think all ladies pants are $4.99 (and men's at maybe $6.99). Each item has a tiny plastic strip/tag in varying colors. I have noticed that on Sundays (which I find unsual that it is open on Sun.) they have their 50% off sale on that day, but only on specified color. They also post a calendar by the door showing which tags will be going on sale next. A couple more pro's - have seen a few more unique, more consistent condition (clothing only) and more well-known brand items (sometimes including formal wear) but not throughout the store. For. ex. I found a hand-painted, embellished long sleeve t-shirt, strikingly different, for which I paid $2-3 (on sale). Last year, I found some jeans and jean skirts (all good brands). Due to its smaller size, easier/ quicker to get through. They have 2 dressing rooms by the front register. And the convenience of Sunday shopping might appeal to some shoppers (though this was a surprise to me). And another special pro - they offer refunds within 14 days with receipt! Con's - they sell shoes, purses and rather large variety of household items in the back end of store. I personally find many of these to be priced too high for the condition they are in. Non-issues, but noticable differences - more restrictions are imposed at this place than the other (for ex. you cannot bring in a coffee or bottle of water). The layout is much more open and I find the staff is keeping a closer eye on shoppers. Not that either are issues for me, but this store does have a different feel to it compared to the other one. read more

This Goodwill is awesome. I found four awesome skirts here and so many pretty blouses I wanted to take home. All for 4.99 each. The changing rooms are bright and tidy. The only problem is that a lot of their full length mirrors are somewhat warped, so it's kinda hard to get a real sense of how you actually look in the clothes you're trying. In the end, I bought two skirts and a blouse since I had just dropped a lot of dough on Xmas gifts, but I want to come back if I ever make it back to the Woo! read more

careful not to park in the Julios Liquor lot, they do tow, its posted beware. The place has too few parking spaces but is overall clean inside and easy to find things. This makes for easy shopping. It's a "how you hit it" place, maybe its the long winter without end but their inventory seems lower on furniture than I'd have guessed. read more

Likely due to the sheer size/amount of inventory, I always seem to find some amazing things here whenever I go. A pair of pants from Shrine (a pricey alt. clothing brand; very well-made) for 90% less than their original price? Yes please! A vintage plaid cloak? WANT! Brass candlesticks (the exact set that I'd seen in a gift shop for $65) for $4? Mine! A massive vegetarian cookbook for $2? WOO! I can't even begin to describe all the awesome things I've found here over the years; at least half of my wardrobe came from here, as do many of my housewares. It's true that there is a lot of junk here. Most of the housewares are either in bad condition, or are some ugly kitschy thing from the 70's. The furniture never seems to be all that spectacular (granted there was a red camelback sofa I saw here once that I felt I needed to have; shame it wouldn't fit in my apartment.) The clothing section seems a bit better than most thrift stores, though there are some pretty laughable items here. I also find a lot of their items to be overpriced... $4 for a secondhand ring? $3 for something that has a price tag from the dollar tree still stuck to the bottom? Uhh... no thanks... I Will preface this review by stating that I used to work at the store. I see a lot of comments on here about the frustration customers have with goodwill sorting by color not size. Did you know that 86% of the proceedes goes towards programs like helping people getting back into the working force and summer camps for children who are in low income familes. That does not leave much room for staff, it is very time consuming to keep up with sizing in a store of thier size. Also many of the stores hire people with disabilities and sorting by color is a very easy way for them to get clothes to the sales floor. Not a bad place to shop but it could use some improvement. As others have said, parking is difficult; if you go there on a busy Saturday morning, forget it. I love book collecting especially from thrift stores, but unfortunately the books at Goodwill are not separated according to genre, meaning I have to literally sift through each one on the shelves until I find what I'm looking for. Also they seem to have very little in the way of men's shoes and boots. read more

I love bargain shopping and I have noticed a lack of descent thrift stores in my area. This Goodwill is an exception; the store is very clean and organized - the pricing is OK - and they have a descent staff. There are only three dressing rooms so you might have to wait a couple minutes to try on clothes. Great prices on housewares. The only thing that really bugged me is they sort all the clothes by color and sleve length NOT SIZE!!! You have to do some digging. read more

I always find at least 2 things here. The store is clean and has a good amount of selection, a little more expensive than Salvation Army (but any thrift-shopper knows that), but if you hit the sales right, it's a good place to go if you're nearby. read more

Goodwill Hunting~Love it! The Goodwill at Gold Star Blvd. was a treasure chest! I found Banana Republic pants for $4.99, a Ralph Lauren sweater, Gap clothes, etc. and a funky scarf for $1.99! The staff were great and helpful. The store was very clean and the deals were awesome! You can't go wrong at Goodwill. They recently have been getting a ton of new furniture in! And, from what I hear at the store they put out over 20 racks of clothing a day to keep the inventory fresh and interesting. Definitely my number one choice for thrift shopping in the Worcester county area. read more

If you have some patience, you will find some great items. Organized well, however it's by style of clothing not by size, but overall a really great place to find super cheap clothing and other things. Do not bother going here for furniture or small housewares, there are hardly any. The clothes selection is pretty decent though and well organized. I agree with other reviewers that it would be awesome for them to sort by size instead of color, but I imagine that would be more effort for staff. read more

My husband, infant son and I visited on a very hot Sunday. After buying several items, we went out to the car and I realized my son's sippy cup was completely empty. It being so hot, and he being a baby, I went back in to ask to use the bathroom faucet to fill his cup with water. I asked an employee standing by the door if there was a bathroom where I could fill up my son's cup. "No," she said. I asked if there was a sink where I or she could at least put some water in his cup. "No," she said, acting as if this was the greatest imposition, "I mean," she continued with attitude, "there's one in the back. I guess you could ask..." She was about as unhelpful as I could have imagined. I turned and walked out, deciding we'd just stop at a gas station. The name of the STORE is "GOOD WILL." I found a total lack of common decency. This incident not only turned me off of this location. I've always donated clothing and household items to Good Will--not anymore! read more
