The people who work here know nothing just what you can read off the back of a pamphlet or product their selling. This company deserves to go down in flames. Like most companies fear is what ultimately drives them not innovation. You get the same canned response from their staff that you get from any big store that wants you as a customer but not to keep you as a valued customer. Was shopping for athletic shoes with my son, no one offered to help, I found a grouchy employee to pull a box from the top shelf and she just flung the box of shoes onto the floor. Didn't even bother to pick it up. Then, cashier had a horrible attitude, asked her about the 20% off that was promoted on their ad and she completely ignored me, oh and didn't even bother to put the shoes in a bag! It's a big box sporting goods store. Just like the other half a dozen around town. They capitalize on the convenience of having nearly everything under one roof. For that mom of 4 that has kids in swimming, soccer, baseball, and track, I can see how a place like this would be a Godsend. For me...meh. I could take it or leave it. On this occasion, I was on the search for some decent hiking pants. Just run of the mill khaki hippie/tree hugger style pants. They had a decent selection of hiking clothes, mostly North Face and their own little off brand. Prices were far from cheap, even when they were on the clearance rack. I normally have better luck finding things online, but if I needed something quickly then Dick's normally has something that can work. Service is atrociously bad. I counted at least 15 workers on one particular night. They all seemed to be busily doing something, but that's overkill for a small store like this. Plus, not one seemed knowledgeable in their department. This can be rather frustrating. Target is just down the way, and if you're looking for something cheaper and don't mind it not being a particular brand, I would recommend them for most sporting apparel. read more

I went to Dick's on Rosedale Hwy Sunday, 8/5/2018. My wife had purchased Oakley Gascan polarized sunglasses with an extended warranty for me for Father's Day just a couple months prior. Unfortunately, I lost the glasses at a movie theater two nights prior. I felt sick because she is such a hard worker and she spent $153 + tax + $20 for the Asurian policy. While making a purchase of two other items, I asked the cashier if there is a discount program for military veterans. I always ask this question while showing my veteran ID. The look on her young, millennial face said it all, but she BRAZENLY stated, "We don't support veterans, military, or cops!" Needless to say, I was shocked at her disrespectful demeanor. After finishing my purchase, I proceeded to the Oakley case located at the end of the cashier counter. I spotted the sunglasses my wife had purchased for me. I was torn. I wanted to try them on. Despite how I felt by the way in which the cashier had spoken to me, I was seriously considering buying the sunglasses as a replacement. I asked her if I could try them on. There was another very polite employee gentleman standing right there to help another customer out with a barbell and set of weights. The cashier handed this employee the keys to the Oakley case and asked him to help me. The customer who was purchasing the weight set was right behind me when I made my purchase and, evidently, overheard my question about military discounts. This guy left the cashier, walked to the Oakley display case, and literally got in my face and said, "He can't help you right now, he's helping me!" With that, I thanked your helper employee who was very kind and I left the store. Rest assured, neither I nor my wife will never set foot in ANY Dick's Sporting Goods store again. read more

Ok so, they had what I needed which made me happy, Walmart/target did not have. I was happy with the price of my specific Item. So that is why I am giving them a 3 star. But they will not get more then three stars, because I did not get specific help, or care. Customer service walked by me multiple times without asking me a thing. I was in fishing section and with so many options to pick from, and I being a novice I would appreciate guidance. So this is why Mom and pop stores are my preference, I like someone walking up to me and helping me navigate there specific store and appreciate my business. So if your looking for a particular item, yeah they probably have it, but if you have questions about it then your going to have to do your own research. It is your typical big box, well organized, great staff when you can find them... But this one doesnt carry the stuff I am looking for. Their weights are jammed in the corner, their biking (only had neon green size Medium jerseys?), camping and swimming sections are weak. They have tons of mens fitness clothes that are cut too baggy for the gym but their runner-specific mens clothes are also limitied If you are looking for womens clothing or hunting stuff, this one looks to be a good bet...I am not one to shoot stuff while wearing hot pink stretchy pants so it doesnt works for me read more

Honestly if I could give them no stars I most definitely would! My husband bought me a bike back in April just when everything in California was closing and he ordered it online and did curbside pick up and it was already assembled by them. Well the issue was the bike was too big even with the research done on sizing one never knows with out actually getting on the bike. Well we picked it up and went home and I got on to see sizing we realized it was too big and we called but they had already closed. We called the next day and they told us bikes were non exchangeable and non refundable that they should of told us that at pick up it was a take it or leave it type thing and we weren't told that. So we were like well what do we do with a bike I can't ride it's literally August and it's been sitting in my house untouched brand new! Upset we lost almost $500 on an item I was looking forward to use and can't even get a smaller size due to COVID and bikes not ok their policy. Story short I called they still won't even take the bike and or give me my money back. If you are looking for a bike but can't try the sizing in person Do Not Purchase from them!!!!! They aren't even sympathetic on the fact that we lost out on money on a bike I can not use! It's brand new still has tags and all! I don't understand how they think it's ok to not let people know they are final sale and sizing and checking them out in person is not allowed again I truly don't ever post reviews about stuff like this but their customer service people suck and they truly don't know how to make a customers unsatisfied purchase any better. I have, on more than one occasion, played on the elliptical machines long enough to get in a full workout that I felt for days afterward. Worked up a sweat and everything. This says a lot considering that this is not a gym but a sporting goods store. A sporting goods store with employees and sales goals. No one has ever asked if I was interested in buying a machine (I am!) or if I had any questions, or anything of the sort. I needed to find a swimsuit once. They are around the corner, up against the wall where the Shake Weights are kept. I found this out all on my own as, again, I didn't get any help. There is some sort of Dick's reward card or something... I don't know what it is for and I don't really care to have one. When asked the last time I was there if I wanted to sign up, I said no. The girl at the register said "What... are you THAT loaded you don't need a card??" I told her she wasn't cute enough to be that rude. Oooh, burn! But for real, someone needs to teach the employees of Dick's that it is none of their business how loaded or not loaded I am. I took all the little clips off the shoes once that say things like "Ask for details" and "running shoe" and clipped them all on a rack of insoles in a nice, neat row. No one noticed. Me and my husband absolutely love this place. If you're into sports at all, this is the place to be. They have such a huge selection, you almost can get lost in all of the items. My husband is a huge golfer, and he was especially impressed with the golf associate Ray. Ray was attentive and very informative, he knew exactly what was needed. Unfortunately for me, I found no such help in the messy women's apparel where I could see 2 girls in the back talking away. Nonetheless, this is a great one stop sports shop! read more

Dick's sporting goods is, for the most part,​ the only Large sporting goods store in town. We have Big 5, but it lacks the large inventory Dick's has. Dicks is not a REI, Sheels, or any other top-notch​ sporting goods store. It's a lacklustre​ sporting​ goods store with little to no competition and it shows. The store is often in disarray​ because the employees don't keep it up. The shoe selection​ resembles​ that which you would find at an outlet store. There are​ no real fitness experts there to fit you with proper shoes so your better off going to Sole to Sole. If you play baseball, soccer, and football this is where Dick's seems to do well. They seem to have a lot of equipment in that area. If there was a good sporting goods store like Sheels in town, Dicks would have to step up their​ game. read more

Duuuuude. Get some customer service skills! Seriously though, does Dick's do any kind of employee training? Literally half of the clothing items on the clearance rack are not actually on clearance. No apology, no explanation, no comment. The fishing department sent me up front to get a license, the employee up at the front seemed irritated that I wanted a license and didn't get it in the back, somebody came and took my license and disappeared for a while, the employee at the register asked me for my phone number to tell the people at the back, wanted me to write down my address and she stomped away with it as I stood there awkwardly waiting. I hate Dick's. The only reason they deserve 2 stars is due to their large selection. The service is awful. I walked in circles looking for items (that I was positive they had) and not one worker asked me for help. I actually had to walk to the registers to ask--where there were 3 people just standing around. No one was in line to ring up at that time. Additionally, I actually observed a worker pass a customer and the customer greeted the worker with a friendly hello. That's backwards. Also, you can only take a certain number of items into their dressing rooms. However, as soon as you can find someone to let you in they leave and then you can take the rest of your clothes in with you. There is no monitoring process. And if you think trying the clothes on there will be beneficial you would be wrong. There are hardly any lights in the fitting rooms and you can barely see anything. And, if you are trying to get someone to help you find your size in the shoe department, good luck! And the straw that broke the camel's back- I asked where the swim suits were and went to that section of the store. They are hung up so high on the wall that you can't even touch them (and I'm pretty tall) to see sizes, prices, brands, or quality. And, this means I now have to walk back to the registers to ask for help. I set my stuff down and walked out of the store. Forget this place. read more

Well it was really hard to find stuff when everything is all over the floor. Associates would walk by it like it wasn't there. Every associate doesn't seem friendly, they're mostly walking around not doing sh*t. When paying at the register the associate was cool but didn't even bother to fold the clothes I just bought, which weren't cheap. He just balled all my shorts and shirts and threw them in the bag. Dicks sporting goods is a place that has a little bit of everything, because of that a lot of needs are met. They have a team sports, outdoors, bikes and fitness, apparel, footwear, and golf. It's covers all the good basics. Yes they don't have everything because they don't specialize in one thing. They do have great prices and customer service. They Emily a lot of young people which is great! It allows the young generation to get a taste of work life and gain some life experience. I love their rewards system. For every X amount of dollars you get $10 off your n cut purchase! What other sporting goods store does that!? I highly suggest Dicks Sporting Goods! read more

I don't have a bad experience with this Dick's in particular, but all the store's chains. They deliver online orders late, barely have sizes for any god clothes or shoes past a girl's or child's sizes, no taller bigger girl or boy could EVER walk into a store and be satisfied, they NEVER get your order to you on time. My mom ordered shoes for my birthday, I was planning to wear them to my first game this morning (8-06-19), they were due to arrive (8-01-19)-(8-05-19) but after speaking to customer service they started spouting nonsense of me not expediting the order and just offered me small discounts and bargains. I'm extremely upset and WILL NEVER be ordering from such a slow unreliable service again. DON"T purchase sporting goods from here. I'm an athlete and Nike and Adidas have better things directly. Just bought a new pair of track shoes. They were five bucks cheaper than Big 5. Not a huge difference but enough for a foot-long.

I haven't had bad service here. I always get greeted at the door but then I usually know exactly where I'm going and what I need. Clothing is WAY over priced. Its nice to look at but I won't buy clothes there. I buy running shoes here and swimming stuff. They have a decent selection of shoes even though I wish they would carry Brooks Dyads. I've signed up for their rewards cards and every few months I get a $10 off a pair of shoes coupon. I went today and redeemed my coupon for a pair of shoes for my daughter. I'm lazy, I don't want to leave Rosedale to get a pair of running shoes and action sports is way more expensive. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. If they would be more realistic about their clothing prices, I'd give it a 5. read more
