    Brisket, Beans, Hushpuppies, Fries

I will say the staff was very sweet and friendly. The lady that took our order was very patient and helpful as I wanted to purchase some merchandise. The food unfortunately was not as awesome as I'd hope it would be. The fries were really cold and didn't taste fresh at all. It wasn't crispy or salted so that was quite disappointing, the hushpuppies were alright, were fried well and were filling. The beans were decent, had a nice sweetness to it, the brisket was slightly tough. The sauce we dipped it in def made it better and softer but had expected more. Overall nice, cozy spot but wish the food had lived up to my expectations.

Their chicken is the best! Smoky flavor plus crispy skin, taste amazing. 'Meet in the middle' sauce compliment the meat perfectly

You cannot beat the quality, prices and service. Everything was on time, well organized, plentiful and delicious. There were no concerns or complaints. They are the best in Haw River and that's coming from a Texas girl!

Dad enjoying the BBQ ribs, slaw, and banana pudding. And my plate with the brisket, rib tips, Mac and cheese, and collards.

My first time coming here was last Sunday with a friend and it was so delicious that when my family drive up (3hour trip), I decided to bring them here. I got the same 2 meats combo but this time I added an extra side...the collard greens. I took one bite of them collards and I damn near cried. I have everyone at the table try it and immediately got up to buy a large! Listen them thangs was so good I could've slapped my mama! The cook had to be a grandma from Atlanta or something! The brisket is so tender it melts! The ribs are finger licking good! It's a vegans nightmare. Actually I was plant- based (only for 2 weeks) when my friend brought me here. I'm glad I don't stay to far away from some good bbq! I will always recommend this place to people.

Family of 3 at e for $33.00. LOVE the BBQ! You've got to do the rib tips and try the "meet me in the middle" sauce. (Note: Rib Tips are the edges - I think - but what makes them so good is that they are very fatty - the char is on all edges - lremember ladies - fat is where the flavor is!) Updated review because they've updated the dining room with new tables and chairs. Still have a nice outside place to sit. Super folks! Great food!

This is yet another recently opened barbecue restaurant in the Burlington/Mebane area - this one opened in April of this year. And like the others (Stokely's & Tickle My Ribs) this little place serves a variety of smoked meats - pork, ribs, chicken, and beef brisket - none of which are traditional NC BBQ offerings, but there is some flavor here. You order at the front, pay, and grab a table - the decor is rustic, retro with signs and posters on the walls, feed bags, etc. There are about 6 or 8 booths, and some outside seating. All the food is served in a to go style - styrofoam containers, plastic forks & spoons, sandwiches wrapped in tin foil, and soft drinks in a can - so only the bare basics offered. Brisket Combo goes for $9.99 (a little high, I think for what you get) - which is basically a brisket sandwich on texas toast with 2 sides. All meat is cooked in a smoker, and there is some taste of smoke, but only a little. The brisket is well cooked - tender but not mushy, with areas of outside black. The meat, well sauced with the house stuff, is pretty good. The sides are not - I'd just get the brisket sandwich. The house sauce is more Lexington style than eastern, some nice flavor, but no heat at all. The pork is rather coarsely chopped, tender, and moist. It also has some hint of smoke, and goes pretty well on a sandwich with slaw, and a good dose of house sauce and the commercial hot sauce - Texas Pete. You get 4 ounces of pork on the sandwich for $4.49 - also a little high for what you get. Hot Dog was just ordinary - small in size (like Zack's in Burlington), the bun seemed like a potato style bun, the chili tastes commercially made, and the onions were of the red variety - just ain't right - goes for $1.99 - also high for the item. Canned drinks were rather a bargain at $1. I'll stop by again at some point - more of a point of opportunity BBQ joint, rather than a destination one, and not really a value meal place. Our Beef Brisket Combo, a chopped sandwich, a dog, & 2 soft drinks was just short of $20.

Best bbq and sweet tea in months! Small quaint building on the side of the road in a small out of the way town. Large hot portions, everything fresh and delicious. I travel for a living and this place is one of the best mom and pops I've found. Decorated very rustic, down home...clean floors and tables, friendly, quick service! Don't pass it by!!!

Nice surprise! Small with only 4 tables for eat in so mostly take out is served. Clean, friendly staff- order at counter and plastic utensils and sauces are all self serve. Reasonable portion sizes and flavor was good!

One of the better BBQ joints in the area. This is a free standing restaurant in Haw River. It boasts "the best BBQ in town". This may be true, but if I'm mistaken, it's the only BBQ in town! Its a decent looking place. Not much from the outside. Just a brick rectangle with a small patio out front. Once you get inside its a bright with pig related decor adorning the walls. Pretty traditional. Everything is nice and clean. The restaurant is small but you don't feel cramped. My wife and I dined here for lunch on a busy Friday. We both had a BBQ sandwich with fried okra. The pork on the sandwich was pulled very coarsely which I enjoy. The smoke profile was nice. Assertive. If you don't like smoke you'll want to balance it with BBQ sauce. The meat was just a tad on the dry side. The okra was good. Better than average. It could have been crispier though and came out all but unseasoned. I believe they should ditch the Sweet Baby rays they offer and make their own version. As good as the food is they should compliment it with something home made. They do make a "meet in the middle" tomato/vinegar based BBQ sauce which is made in house and quite good. All and all I do recommend giving them a try. Easily in the top 3 of the BBQ places in a half hour radius.

Great mom and pop operation, food was great and canine out fast and fresh. I recommend you check it out and do the 3 or 4 meat special with 3 sides so you get a well rounded exposure of their capabilities.

The 2 meat combo of ribs and pulled pork with a side of hushpuppies and white slaw

A Texan and a North Carolinan went into a BBQ restaurant... *insert joke cuz I can't think of one* On another note, I came here with my North Carolinan family for a quick lunch before I head out of state. Armed with our seasoned taste buds, we came to see how good this pit was. We got ourselves some ribs, briskets, and pulled pork with a side of slaw and hushpuppies. My family got a mix of other stuff but we'll keep it BBQ on this review. Pulled pork was a bummer and their selection of BBQ sauce could not save it. There was no taste of smoke and was just cooked pork at the end of the day. Whomp womp... 2/5 The ribs were spectacular from the first bite to the last! The only downside that my family and I agreed on was that the meat was not fall off the bone tender and had to make a bit of effort to get all the meat off. 4/5 The brisket was tasty but tougher than most briskets we've ever eaten. Good if you have tough teeth. Bad if not or really elderly. 4/5 Overall, I'd say our experience here was good. Excellent customer service (my cup never got empty!), nice decor, and good food. Only letdown were needing even more tenderness and smokey flavors. 3.5/5 If the boss is reading: Natalyia (?), the cashier, was very diligent and on her toes with clean up, refills, taking calls, replacing the trash, and taking orders. Big thumbs up to this hard worker! She is an invaluable asset to your team. Cheers

The interior is what you might expect from a local barbecue chain. Service was quick after the initial order, though it took a while to get a refill and to retrieve my check. As for the food, I selected a large plate of chopped pork with slaw, beans, and hushpuppies. I liked the flavor of the pork, though the texture seemed more pulled than chopped. The baked beans were not especially remarkable, but the pups were pretty tasty. The slaw was of the creamy white variety, and while it had a good crunch I didn't find it especially flavorful. Graham is probably too far east for barbecue slaw, but I think this meal would have went better with the red stuff than the white variety they offered. The portions were fair, and total cost when adding a glass of tea came to just over $14. Again, not horrible in the current economy. Were I rating this visit on the flavor of the meat alone, I might go four stars, maybe even 4.5. But the sides and the slow follow-up service move this down in the assessment.

I was excited but not surprised because they normally have really good deals and random sales. Well on this occasion I go to pay for them and the lady at the register say this is a really good deal. She said the should be the price of the legs not wings. She then took all the wings out of my cart and said he can't have them. Called someone from the back gave them the wings and said "he trying to get them for the price of legs. This isn't right take them back." She never told me the price they should of been and never gave me an opportunity to pay the correct price. I asked for the right price and she yelled "2.99 but he should have known that wasn't the right price. ". Referring to me as if I put the price on the meat.
