Heard about this restaurant and decided to drive 30 minutes to check it out. When I had arrived, I had a few questions on the menu. The pretty young lady taking orders and money was very patient and her customer service was top tier! I order the Duke Chili Burger with crispy fries & a big slice of apple pie - and when I tell you, this burger is HUGE! I was able up cut on half and eat on for 2 meals. Next time, I'm gonna ask of I can get the hamburger bun on the side, so it doesn't become soggy. I got cheese, chili, onions, mustard with slaw on the side for my burger. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my order, because everything is cooked to order. The cost was $22.05, and it was WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY. The only down side or con I have for Big Bob's is the flies. I despise flies and there were quite a few. Next time I'll call ahead! read more

I'm so mad at my friends for not telling me about this place sooner. Like, I'm literally a little ticked off at a few of them that I told about this place and they're like, "Oh yeah, I know...they're amazing!" And you didn't tell me??? Whatever. We came here for lunch and both got the cheeseburger with a side and drink....this ended up being about 2.5 each! The quality and quantity of food that you get for the amount you pay cannot be beat. The cheeseburger was as big as my face! And the okra was to die for! (My husband did say that he wasn't a big fan of the fries but only because they tasted like they were fried in the same oil as the fish.) When you pull up to this establishment, it's not much to look at...and honestly, neither is the inside. BUT everyone is very friendly and did I mention how cheap and good the food is? I am mad as hell!! How yall gon have this delicious ass food and no where to sleep it off?!!! The itis hit as soon as I took my first bite of my burger! Not to mention, the burger was the size of a slice of meatloaf, seasoned to perfection, with a pound and half of chili on top! My husband and I were out riding around in Hillsborough and saw the reviews for big Bob's city Grill and decided to stop in. The two girls working the counter were amazing. I think they actually added to the stars on the review. We ordered 4 different things: the loaded french fries, ribeye with fries and the chicken wing dinner with potato salad and macaroni and cheese. We also ordered a loaded hotdog. I thought the hotdog was not bad. I wouldn't give it four stars, but I'd say 3 1/2. It lacked a crunch to the hotdog when you've bite into it and the flavor was average. Nothing really made it stand out to me the loaded chili cheese fries were awesome, they had the chili and cheese throughout the fries not just on top which some places tend to do. The ribeye that my husband ordered was not cooked the way he wanted, which was medium. It was well done and dry. You definitely needed the A1 sauce to help it. I had the chicken wing dinner with potato salad and macaroni and cheese . the potato salad was really good and so was the macaroni and cheese. The chicken wings were not very good. In my opinion. They were bland and not crispy. I don't think there was enough breading on it. I'm not sure what it was but nothing about it stood out, I would go back here just because I wanna try the pork chop sandwich and the fish dinner to see how those are. read more

When you pull up, do not be put off by the size of it because this place is cranking out big flavor! The gentlemen inside were so friendly and fast, I did not wait long, at all, for my food. There are few tables to eat at inside but mostly what I saw, and what I did as well, was carry out. I knew I was coming for a burger, the only decision I had to make was hamburger, cheeseburger or bacon cheeseburger. I went with the bacon cheeseburger, came up to about $13 and came with fries and a drink. The gentleman at the counter confirmed everything I wanted on my burger and I patiently waited. My order came out and the gentleman behind the counter showed me my order, I laughed, he laughed and then gave me utensils so that I could cut this massive burger in half!! This burger was juicy, the bacon was crispy, the fries were crunchy with the perfect amount of seasoning salt. I wish I could've eaten the entire plate but I just couldn't and I don't know many that could. Let me tell you, one regret I have is that I do not live closer to this place. If you're driving down 85 between Mebane and Durham or Chapel Hill, do yourself a favor and stop here, keeping in mind, they close a little early! read more

I want to say 3-4 stars for ambiance and 5 stars for the food. The place is a dump, very unimpressive inside. That's fine, but the awful smell of fish or something else cooking was so off-putting my son wanted to leave the minute we walked in. However, I'm glad we didn't leave. The lady at the cash register was friendly and sent our order back immediately. We each ordered bacon cheeseburger lunch specials that include fries and a drink. When the food came out, it was so hot and fresh we had to give it a minute to cool off. There were plenty of fries and they were good. The booth was stocked with salt, pepper, ketchup and hot sauce. The server offered other dipping sauces (Ranch and Honey Mustard) and she brought them right out when my son asked for them. The coke he ordered and the diet coke I ordered were...as expected. The bacon cheeseburgers were dynamite! One of the best burgers I've had in years! I've had nothing like it in at least 10 years, maybe ever. Super fresh, great beef burger and condiments were all fresh and great tasting. The burger itself, no exaggeration was about a full 16 ounces! Ridiculous! It was almost too big! I come to this place because of the quality of the food and the portion sizes. Usually the people are accommodating and friendly. The last three times I have been here my order has been made wrong. So today I asked again for my order to be made without cheese. When it came out I asked the person taking orders if it was made with no cheese. She took a deep sigh like I was bothering her. She proceeded to open the container and literally put it in my face as if I was crazy to ask. Rather than make a scene I took the container and moved away from this person. The order again was made incorrectly. My issue is not so much that the order is again wrong but the attitude of the person at the counter. If you love chicken livers this is the best place to enjoy the lightly breaded make sure to ask for the gravy and onions. Great ribs and burgers. Haven't had their pork chops but they look to die for. If you pick up your order they are going to go though each of your plates so you see what your getting. (That's how I saw the pork chops) friendly service with a smile. It's very small in size so most likely you will take out. You can see them cooking and they have early hours.
